About 3 p. m, on 1st instant, the dead body of a new born female child w* s found in the night soil deposit at Tong- street, near Bradford ; it was wrapped up in a piece of slate- coloured cotton lining, and appeared to have been born about two days. At tlie Coroner's iuquest it was proved that the cliLais death had been caused by fracture of the skull, and a verdict of ' " Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown' was returned. On 25t. h ultimo tlie body of a newly- born male Child was found in a road leading to Argyle- street, South Shields, • wrapped in a pi » ce of flannel, part of a coarse towel, and a piece of brown paper. At the coroner's inquest a verdict of * Wilful Mulder against some person or persons unknown' was returned. On 10th ultimo, a black canvas bag, about 15 inches long, and 10 inches in depth, with handle on top, containing the dead body of a male child, apparently about 5 months old, wrapped in two pieces of flannel, three pieces of white dress lining, one piece of blanket, the feet of a pair of small • worsted stockings, a pocket handkerchief, white ground, with spotted pink border, and a napkin, marked in black ink at corner with letter ' B.', all much worn and dirty, was booked at the railway station, Liverpool- street, London, addressed to ' Frederick Driver, Esq, Bail way Hotel, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk/ at which place it arrived by mail train at 330 am., on 11th ultimo. At the coroner's inquest, a verdict of wilful murder was returned against some person or persons unknown. During the night of 2nd instant, the office of the Cannock ajd Wimblebury Colliery Company, Medhesford, was broken and entered, and two pairs of small German- silver drawing Compasses stolen therein, one pair with black lead points, ttie other with ink points. Information to be given to Superintendent Hill, Brownhills, near Walsall, or to Sergeant Cockerell, Hednesford, near Stafford.— Bow- street, March 5. Between 10 p. m. on 13tb, and 7 a. m. on 14th ultimo, the dwelling- house of George Woolam, of Far ml on, was broken and entered, aud stolen therein : a blue pilot cloth Overcoat, with two pockets outside, and one inside left breast, lined with green plaid, and has been mended on left, sleeve, above the eloow, black horn buttons ; a black cloth Overcoat, lined with black alpacca, two pockets outside, and one inside left breast, black covered buttons ; a black cloth. Vest, with roll collar ; a pair of grey plaid Trousers, fall fronts ; a pair of strong watertight Boats, with square headed nails in heels, and round headed nails in soles ; and an old hard black felt Hat. By JOHN WARD, a labourer, 21 years of age, 5 feet 10| inches high, sallow complexion, brown hair, cut short, brown moustache, no whiskers, and is supposed t, obe wearing the stolen clothes. He is a deserter from the 47th Foot. Information to be given to Superintendent Wilson, Tatten- hall, near Chester, or to Sergeant Bowden, Faradon, near Chester, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, March 5. Stolen from an office in Bolton, during the night of 12th instant, by breaking and entering : about 40s. worth of Id. Postage Stamps, eighteen Receipt Stamps; a heavy grey Mackintosh ; a mingled grey plaid ulster Coat, single- breasted, without lining, and ' Wimbledon Ulster' on the tab ; and other Articles. Also stolen from same premises, during night of 21st inst.: a blue pilot cloth Overcoat, with black velvet collar, three large horn buttons on each side, red and puce plaid lining, which is torn at the bend of elbow inside, lining unstitched about an inch at one cuff, two pockets outside with flaps over, and one inside left breast. £ i reward will'be paid " for such information as will lead to the apprehension and con- victon of the offender or offenders. Stolen on the night of 26th ultimo, from a stable at Bradley, Wotton - under - Edge : a grey Gelding, since recovered, the property of Mr. Walton John Bick, Supposed by a man about 21 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, brown hair, brown eyes, and sallow complexion : native oi Wotton- under- Edge, aud a labourer; when last seen was dressed in a dark suit of clothes, and wearing a soft bowler hat. Stolen during the night of 3rd instant, from Doddinghurst, Essex, the property of Richard Littlechild : a black Mare, 8 or 9 years old, 16 hands high, white stripe down face, covering one nostril, a few white hairs on off hind foot, long mane and tail, heavy foretop, in good condition, has not been clipped, laige fore feet, clicks when travelling, hitting middle of fore feet with hind ones ; also a light spring Cart, painted black outside, white inside, round tires ; and a head Stall, witix chain leader. Information to be given to Superintendent Dobson, Brentwood, Essex, — Bonn- street, March 7. Further information respecting the two Mares stolen from the parish of Wycombe, as advertised in the Police Gazette of 21st ultimo: a warrant has been issued for the apprehension of JOSIAH JARVIS, alias GINGER JARVIS or GINGER BOB, a native of Norwich, from 36 to 40 years ot' age, about 5 feet 11 inches high, red hair, light coloured whiskers, turns his feet out, especially the right foot, which is stiff at the ankle, having been broken. He has, been, twice sentenced to penal servitude, arid is the same man as advertised in the Police Gazette of Oct. 30th and Novembrr 1st last, for stealing Horses at Newton- in- Cleveland, Daventry, and Wanatead Park, Essex. He will probably be found ar, some of the large fairs which are now coming on. Information to be given to Superintendent Sargent, Wycombe, or to Inspector Moore, Police Station, Chesham, Bucks.— Bow- street, March 5. Stolen f rom a field at Birches Green, near Birmingham, during the night of 24th ultimo : a fat teg Sheep, of the Shropshire breed, nvaked with pitch on the near side ' L', the property of James Loveridge, Erdington Hall. Stolen on 27th ultimo : a small red 3 year old milch Cow, mottled red and while face, mixed Hereford breed, hair rubb. ed off thigh, on near side, and off both hip bones, from a fall. Absconded from Montgomery, on 24t, h January last, charged with forgery: EDWARD HUGHES, a tailor, 1 and native of Llangollen, Denbighshire; is well known in j Liverpool, having been in business there as a tailor and out- ' fitter for some years; he is about 50 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, dark brown thick hair, no whiskers,, has! a fleshy substance on tha left jaw, siza of a small marble, dark hazel eyes, forehead projecting over eyes, and slightly stoop- ing in the shoulders ; dressed in a tew dark grey Irish freeze " Ulster, velvet collar, a d> ab plaid trousers and vest, and a silk hat. He is fond of attending places of amusements, and of getting up entertainments and attending Good Templars' meetings, and ia a great speaker. Absconded from Ipswich, about I3th instant, charged on a warrant with forgery: FREDERIC W. WARD, an accountant, about 27 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, light hair and eyes, very slight whiskers, and fair moustache. He is a native of Bury St. Edmunds, walks erect, and has plausible manners. He was seen at Lockwood Beck, near Guisborough, on 17th ultimo, looking for work. It is probable he may make towards Sunderland, to a new railway, or to Bishop Auck- land, w here he has relatives. Description of JOHN GRIME, a coal agent, in the employ of the Darcy Lever Coal Company, who absconded from Bury, about 27th ultimo, charged on a warrant with embezzling £ 100 and upwards : he is 35 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, fresh complexion, very dark brown hair, brown eyes, very stout build, supposed to have lost two upper front teeth, very hairy on the body ; generally wears dark cloth or tweed suit, and hard round felt hat; sings tenor, is fond of music, and has a very pleasant agreeable manner. It is thought he may emigrate. Information to be given at the County Police Office, Bury, Lancashire.— Bow- street, March 9. Absconded from Eastbourne, Sussex, on 5th instant, charged with stealing a new pair of black cloth Trousers, recovered : a man, about 20 years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches high, rather pale thin face, daik hair, rather slight figure, by trade a journeyman tailor, supposed to be a native of White- chapel, London, and is a society man ; Dressed in diagonal cloth cutaway coat, dark fancy cloth trousers, and black boulder crowned felt hat. Suppose^ to be in company with another journeyman tailor, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, fair complexion, dark brown hair, moustache, and imperial, no whiskers, slight figure; dressed in blue fancy cloth cutaway coat, dark tweed vest and trousers, and black boulder crowned felt hat, or high black silk hat. In- formation to be given to Superintendent Newnham, East- bourne, Sussex.— Bow- street, March 9, Stolen since 28th ultimo, from 75, Victoria- street, West- minster : a black cloth Jacket, 2 Petticoats ( 1 black cashmere and 1 black stuff); 2 night Dresses, marked ' E. H. P.' in ink ; some bed Linen, marked in red cotton with a coronet mono- gram ' X' and ' 1864'; 3 Kings ( 2 gold, 1 set with turquoise); and 1 old fashioned, and 1 plain Chain. By a woman 33 yrs. of age, fair complexion, light brown hair, and stout build ; dressed in dark waterproof cloak, light cotton frock, and black bonnet.— Metropolitan Police, B Division, March 9. Absconded on the 6th instant, from 12, Johnston- place, Harrow- road, stealing £ 25 : a man, 60 years of age, 5 ft. 7 or 8 inches high, fair complexion, grey hair and whiskers; dressed in black coat, cord trousers, brown Cardigan jacket, and soft black felt hat.— Metropolitan Police, X Division, March 9. Absconded on 28th ultimo, from Grove House, Duke- street, Lisson- grove, embezzling £ 20 15s. : JOHN BROWN, a cleik, 5 feet 9 inches high, sallow complexion, light grey eyes, sad expression, fair hair and moustache, slight, and slender build; dressed in long brown overcoat, dark grey suit, brown low- crowned hat ; he is a native of Glasgow, Scotland. Warrant issued.— Metropolitan Police, D Division, March 7. Absconded on 3rd instant, from Old- street, St. Luke's, embezzling about £ 40 : a man, 45 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark complexion, grey hair, bald on top of head, dark moustache; dressed in grey Scotch tweed suit, leather knickerbockers, black billycock hat; he was formerly a captain in the army, and it is supposed that he will endeavour to go to Turkey.— Metropolitan Police, G Division, March 7. Absconded from Bristol, on 18th ultimo, charged with embezzling various sums of Money: WILLIAM alias WALTER FISHER, about 26 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, fair complexion, light hair, large blue eyes, very near- sighted, light whiskers all round his face, large feet, and walks in a stiff manner ; dressed in black ribbed overcoat, velvet collar, dark trousers and vest, and soft felt hat. Stolen on 27th ultimo, from 63, Gray's- inn- road : about £ 13 in Gold and Silver. By a man, 21 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, complexion and hair dark, blotched face, bow legs, thick set; dressed in old tweed suit, and cheeseoutter cap .— Metropolitan Police, E Division, March 5. Stolen on 22nd ultimo, from the office of Julius Speyer, mercnant, 20, Caroline Street, Birmingham : 36 gold Rings, of various patterns. 14 Boxes of Cigars. 500 Sheets of Prints ( used for ornamenting boxes). Several Bottles of Wine. And a Bill of Exchange for £ 10. By SAMUEL SANDMAN, alias FRANKLIN, alias SAUNDERS, 21 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, curly hair, one eye smaller than the other, of Jewish appearance ; dressed in a heavy rough coat, and brown billycock hat. And GEORGE BRITTAlN, alias GREEN, 22 years of age, looks older, 5 feet 5 inches high, black hair and mous- tache, of Jewish appearance; dressed in dark clothes. A warrant has been granted for thtir apprehension. They are supposed to be well known at Newoastle- on- Tyne and Leicester.
