Police HUE- Aim- Published for Ireland on every Tues DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. 0 Division: DESCRIPTION of the under- mentioned, who is wanted for forging the names of Wright and Symms, stockbrokers, to a cheque for £ 140, and uttering same at the Royal Bank, Foster- place, Dublin, where he obtained said sum on the 27th Janna y, and aosconded Charles William Smith, about 40 years old, but looks older, 5 feet 9 inches high, pale com- plexion, dark hair turning gray, wore all his beard; dreued in o dinary dark clothes, is a na'ive of Bath, a discharged soldier, and suspected of having eloped with a female from Cardiff wi h whom ho corresponded. DESCRIPTION of Henry Kane, native of Derryane, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd inst., at Derryane, in the barony of Onielland West, parish of Tartaraghan and county of Armagh, assaulted Thomas Smyth, aged 85 years, by striking him on the head with a stick, from the effects of which his life is in danger:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet 7 inches high, about 40 years of age but looks younger, brown hair, short sandy whiskers; wore a low round hat, gray tweed cost, cord trowsers, dark vest. DESCRIPTION of 2 men, supposed to be James Keogh, native of Freeduff, and John Lynch, native of Ballywillan, who stand charge I with having, on the 17th day of January, 1877, in barony of Clonmahon, parish of Drumlumman, along with another man, who has been arrested, waylaid and seriously assaulted Michael Hope:— 1. Suppossd James Keogh— Gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular faee, stout make, 6 feet 6 inches high, between 20 and 35 years of age, dark hair; wore a cap, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest is a Farmer's son. 2. Supposed John Lynch, sandy complexioa medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high about 20 years of age, light coloured this beard wore a old ronnd hat gray coat; is a farmers son. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Inerney, sativa of Tulla, who stands charged with having, on the 8rd day of February, 1877, in the barony of Islands, escaped from Ennia Lunatic Asylum, where she had been committed as a dangerous lunatic, and unlawfully taken with her several articles of clothing belonging to the institution:— Blue eyes, straight nose, ruddy complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 2 inohes high, about 24 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark gray shawl, gray Wincey gown, white flannel petticoat, branded " E. Bridge, esq., gent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle:— Rather short neck, slightly round shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of two persons unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 7' h February, 1877, at Ballyengland, in the barony of Lower connello, parish of Askeaton, maliciously entered Mr. Hewson's harness room and cut up two sets of harness, value £ 20 :— 1. Unknown— Big, light- coloured eyes; long face, 6 feet high, about 20 years of age i wore a black cap, black double- breasted coat, and moleskin trowsers. 2. DKSOBIPTION of William Watkins alias Thompson, native of county of Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 81st Jsnuary, 1877, in the barony of North- west Liberties, parish of Temple- hat, black overcoat, seedy black cloth trowsers, brown tweed vest, elastio- side boots; had the appear- ance of a shoemaker. DESCRIPTION of a bullock and 2 heifers, the pro- perty of Mr. William Power, which were stolen off the lands of Glencommon, parish of Tullahought, barony of Kells, on the night of the 10th, or morning of the 11th instant:— 1. A bullock, small size, red and white, If years old, and value for £ 6. 2. A heifer, red, with white on back, If years old, and value for £ 8. 8. DESCRIPTION oif 4 persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 19th of February, 1877, in the barony of Carrig- allen, parish of Carrigallen, been four of an armed party who entered the house of Patrick Murray, at Cornagh, and, having presented a revolver at him, compelled him to swear that he would give up possession of his house in six days :— 1. Unknown— Fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 26 years of age, fair hair. 2. Longford, DESCRIPTION of James Cassidy, native of Kil- nashee, Drumlish, county Longford, who stands charged with having, on the 9th January, 1877, in the barony of Longford, parish of Killoe, seriously assaulted his stepfather, Michael O'Hara:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 16 years of age; wore a gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black cloth vert; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of William Carty, native of Augha- reagh, who stands charged with having, on the 31st December, 1876, in the barony of Granard, parish of Columbkille, committed a rape:— Slouching gait, stoops his head when walking ; Gray eyes, large nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet high about 28 years of age, fair hair; is a labourer. DESCrIpTIOn of Patrick M'Hale, alias Thomas Henelly, native of Cloontubrid, who stands charged with having, on the 24th February, 1877, at Turlough, in the barony of carra, parish of Turlough, stolen two asses, the property of Daniel M'Quaig, of Turlough, which hs sold in the market of Castlebar on the 24th instant, and which have been recovered:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, broad face, medium make, S feet 2 inches high, about 16 or 17 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a cloth cap, brown frieze coat, cord trowsers j is a labourer. His mother's surname is Roache. Castlebar, Feb. 27, 1877. ( 12187 c.— 21763.) DESCRIPTION of a man, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 11th of August, 1876, at about half past 11 o'clock, A. M., in the barony of Carra, parish of Drum, at Loonamore, discharged three shots from a revolver from behind a rick of turf at George R. Acton, esq., Bridgemount, as he drove by, returning from the fair of Balla:— Face not muscular, about 18 stone weight, seemingly a man not accustomed to hard labour, swarthy or much sun- burnt complexion, round lace, very full make 6 feet 8 inches high, 40 years of age, dark sandy hair, beard and moustache; brown frieze sack coat, dark tweed vest, whitish trowsers, and a sott hat, with high crown. DESCRIPTION of Peter Kevin, native of Hammons- town, county Westmeath, who stands charged with having, on the 6th February, 1877, in the barony of Demifore, parish of Moylagh, stolen two ewe sheep, the property of James Fitzsimons :— Bow- legged; gray eyes, regular nose, yellow complexion, 6 feet ft inches high, about 19 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a jerry hat, gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, twead vest. A Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Royal Irish Constabulary. Kells, Feb. 16, 1877. ( 12024 c 21476.) DESCRIPTION of a gun, the property of Thomas Byrne, which waa stolen from the lands of Drum- mond- Otra, parish of Maghcross, and barony of Farney, on the night of the 21st or morning of the 22nd February, 1877:— A double- barrel gun, with a small piece broken off stock near the trigger guard; the maker's name is not known; the gun is value for ub jut £ i. It was in a woollen cover, bound with red, also stolen. One of the barrels was loaded when stolen. Three small drawer keys were also stolen. Carrickmacross, Feb. 22,1877. ( 12148 a— 31677.) DESCRIPTION of Alexander Gibson, ( mother's sur- name Newell,) native of Glen, who stands charged with having, on the 38th day of January, 1877, in the barony of Dartree, parish of Ematris, stolen the sum of £ 19 from his father's house:— Scar ai corner of eye, good- looking and well set up, slightly freckled, speaks with a slight lisp ; gray eyes, regular nose, fair and florid complf xion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 31 years of age, sandy hair; wore a black jerry hat, fine blue cloth top coat, dark tweed suit, elastic boots. He is believed to have gone to Scotland in company with a girl ( a domestic servant) named Fanny Smith. The Rockcorry Constabulary hold a Warrant for his arrest. He is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Kenna, native of Listra- hegney, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of December, 1876, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Tullycorbett, left the service of Mr. Wallace, of Braddocks, and it is feared that she has met with foul play:— Brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet high, about 19 years of age; wore a white hat, with black and white ribbon, red woollen shawl, black dress, blue skirt, elastic boots; is a servant. DESCBIPTION of John Farrell supposed native of Dunlavin, county Wickiow, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 25th January, 1877, in the barony of Stradbally, parish of Moyanna, stolen a dark tweed short frock coat, and a light tweed vest, both new, and value for £ 2 or upwards, the property of James Tynan, of Vicarstown;— Pearl on left eye, small mark like evil on right side of neck; blaek eyes, regular nose, yellow completion, full face, stout make, 6 feat 6 inches high, about 26 years of age, blapk hair j wore a soft black hat, worn gray melton coat, new cord trowsers, old dark tweed vest; might be wearing the stolen clothes. DESCRIPTION of Felix Kearns, native of Cliffoney, and Patrick Waters, native of Newtown Cliffoney, who stand charged with having, on the 3rd Decem- ber, 187( 5, in the barony of Carbury, parish of Ahamlish, committed a criminal assault on Bessie Gilmartin — 1. Felix Kearns— Pimples on face, delicate appear- ance, large mouth slightly turned; gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, slight make, 6 feet 6j inches high, about 19 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is an assistant teacher in National 8chool. 9. Patrick Waters— Heavy eyebrows; brown eyes, sharp noso, fair complexion, regular face, stoat make, S feet 9$ inches high, about 19 years of age, brown hair; yore a round hat, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of an ass, cart, and harness, the property of William Kennedy, of Castlewaller, which were stolen from his place at Castlewaller, parish of Kilnarath, barony of Owney and Arra, on the night of the 16th of February, 1877 A gelding ass, 2J years old, gray colour, the mane and bair of top of tail cut, the right fore foot had dry rot. The dray was painted red, the top of shafts and heel- b! 6ck black, a seat baord for sitting on acrcss the dfay. The tackling was new and not blackened or coloured. DESCRIPTION of William James Devlin, native of coolreagh, near Cookstown, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd January, 1877, in the barony of Upper Dungannon, parish of Derryloran, absconded from Cookstown, taking with him upwards of £ 20 sterling of his property, which ought, by law, to be divid'd amongst his creditors, he having been adjudicated a bankrupt on the 25th January, 1877:— Straight active appearance, broad square shoulders; rather good- looking; gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 38 years of age, light brown hair cu- very short, large light brown whiskers; wore a twaed Coat, trowsers, and vest.
