ABSCONDED from Patna, Ayrshire, on the 2lst instant, charged with embezzlement of £ 150, the property of the Managers of the Established Chu'ch at Patna— William Dick, a joiner, bat lately post- master at Patna, 32 to 8 i years pf age, 5 feet 8 or 0 kches in height, brown loair, whisaers, and mous tache, fair complexion, full face, broad flat nose absent- looking; dressed, when 1. e absconded, in dark home- made check trowsers, with re 1 thread through- out, dark striped tweed vest, dark gray tweed coat, striped Wincey shirt, round felt hat, and elastic side boots. Accused may probably endeavour to leave this country. A Sheriff's Warrant has been granted for his apprehension. Information to bo given to the Chief Constable of Ayrshire, at Ayr. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. ft Division; DESCRIPTION of the under- mentioned, who is wanted for forging the names of Wright and Symms, stockbrokers, to a cheque for j£ 14,0, and uttering same at the Royal Bank, Foster- place, dublin, where he obtained said sum on the 27th Janna y, and aosconded :— Charles William Smith, about 40 years old, but looks older, 5 feet 9 inches high, pale com- p'exion, dark hair turning gray, wore all his beard; dreieed in o dioary dark clothes, is a na iva of Bath, a discharged soldier, and suspected of having eloped wiih a female from Cardiff wi h vhom he corresponded. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Inerney, native of Tulla, who stands charged with having, on tHe flrd da" of February, 1877, in the barony of Islands, escaped from Ennis Lunatic Asylum, where she had been committed as a dangerous lunatic, and unlawfully taken with her several articles of clothing belonging to the institution :— Blue eyes, straight nose, ruddy complexion, long face, stout make. R feet 2 inches high, about 24 years of age, brown ha; r ; wore a dark gray shawl, gray Wincey gown, white flannel petticoat branded " E. L. Denis Shea— Black spot under right eye, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, large mouth. 5 feet 2 inches high, about 44 years of age, black hair, shaves all his face; is a travelling fish dealer. 9. Alice Shea— Sunken black eyes, regular nose, fallow complexion, oval face, thin make, 4 feet 10 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle:— Rather short neek, slightly round shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. The bullocks described in Hue- and- Cry, 6th Feb- ruary, 1877, have been recovered, and the follow^ g is the description of the person charged with having stolen them:— DESCRIPTION of an unknown person, who stands charged with having, on the 3rt January, 1877, in the barony of North Naas, parish of Naas, stolen 2 bullocks, the property ol John Hearns, and with having offered them lor sale in the Dublin market on the 4th January:— Long straight thin nose, sallow complexion, slender make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark brown hair, slight moustache and whiskers; wore an old black jerry hat, black overcoat, see^ y black eloth ' trowsers, brown tweed vest, elastic- side boots ; had the appear* ance of a shoemaker. DESCRIPTION of William Watkins alias Thompson, native of county of Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on tbe 81st January, 1877, in the barony of North- west Liberties, parish of Temple- more, escaped from Londonderry gaol, where he had been committed for trial oa a charge of larceny :•— Good- looking; smart, active, and respectable appearance ; dark brown eyes, regular nose, dark compl. xion, regular face, medium mate, 5 foet 6 inches high, about 36 jears of age, dark hair, slight dark moustache and whiskers, which may now be shaved; wore a round felt hat, dark coloured coat, striped trowsers. DESCRIPTION of James Cassidy, native of Kil- nashee, Dramlish, county Longford, who, stands charged with having, on the 9th January, 1877, in the barony of Longford, parish of Killoe, seriously assaulted his stepfather, Michael O'Hara:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 leet 3 inches high, about 16 years of age : wore a gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black cloth vest t ia a labourer. DESCRIPTION of a man, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 11th of August, 1876, at about half past 11 o'clock, A. M., in the barony of Carra, parish of Drum, at Loonamore, discharged three shots from a revolver from behind a rick of turf at George B. Acton, esq., Bridgemount, as he drove by, returning from the fair of Balla:— Face not muscular, about 13 stone weight, seemingly a man not accustomed to hard labour, swarthy or much sun- burnt complexion, round lace, very full make 5 feet 8 inches high, 40 years of age, dark sandy hair, beard and moustache; brown frieze sack coat, dark tweed vest, whitish trowsers, and a sott hat, with high crown. Meath DESCRIPTION of Peter Kevin, native of Hammons- town, county Westmeath, who stands charged with having, on the 5th February, 1877, in the barony of Demifore, parish of Moylagh, stolen two ewe sheep, the property of James Fitzsimons :— Bow- legged; gray eyes, regular nose, yellow complexion, 6 feet 4 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark brown hairj Wore a jerry hat,* gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest. A Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Royal Irish Constabula y. Kells, Feb. 16, 1877. ( 13024 c.— 21475.) Monaghan* DESCRIPTION of a gun, the property of Thomas Byrne, which was stolen from the lands of Drum- mond- Otra, parish of Magheross, and barony of Farney, on the night of the 2lst or morning of the 22nd February, 1877:— A double barrel gun, with a small piece broken off stock near the trigger guard; the maker's name is not known; the gun is v* lue for about £ 5. It was in a woollen cover, bound with red, also stolen. One of the barrels was loaded When stolen. Three small drawer keys were also stolen. Carrickmacross, Feb. 22,1877. ( 12143 c.— 31677.) DESCRIPTION of Alexander Gibson, ( mother's sur- name Newell,) native of Glen who Stands charged with having, on the 28th day of January, 1877, in the barony of Dartree, parish of Ematris, stolen tho snm of £ 19 from his father's house :— Scar at corner of eye, good- looking and well set up, slightly freckled, speaks with a slight lisp ; gray eyes, regular nose, fair and floiid complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 21 years of a^ e, sandy hair; wore a black jerry hat, fine blue cloth top coat, dark tweed suit, elastic boots. He is believed to have gone to Scotland in company- with a girl ( a domestic servant) named Fanny Sm th. The Rockcorry Constabulary hold a Warrant for his arrest. He is a farmer's son. ( 12088 c.— 81678."* DESCBIPTION of Mary M'Kenna, native of Listra- hegney, who stands charged with having, on the 19 th day of December, 1876, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Tullycorbett, left the service of Mr. Wallace, of Braddocks, and it is feared that she has met with foul play:— Brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 6 feet high, about 19 years of age; wore a white bat, with black snd white ribbon, red woollen shawl, black dress, blue skirt, elastic boots; is a servant. Patrick Smith ( larceny) not arrested; Hue- and- cry, 32nd September, 1875. queen's DESCRIPTION of a heifer calf, the property of John Bergin, which was stolen from the lands of Garren- denny, parish of Killabban, barony of Slievemaray, on the night of the 15th or morning of the 16th instant, viz.:— Light brown colour, mixed with gray hairs, small star on forehead, horns long for her age and cocked, a whitish stripe on each side of quarters, very heavy tail with gray hairs mixed, 1} yesrs old, and value for £ 6 10*. DESCRIPTION of John Farrell, supposed native - of Dunlavin, county Wicklow, who stands charged with having, on the Light of the 25th January, 1877, in the barony of Stradbally. parish of Moyanna, stolen a dark tweed short frock coat, and a light tweed vest, both new, and value for £ 2 or upwards, the property of James Tynan, of Vicarstown :— Pearl on left eye, small mark like evil on right side of neck ; black eyes, regular nose, yellow complexion, iu. l face, stout make, 5 feat 6 inches high, about 26 years of age, black hair j wore a soft black hat, worn gray melton coat, new cord trowsers, old dark tweed vest; might be wearing the stolen clothes. DESCRIPTION of Felix Kearns, native of Cliffoney, and Patrick Waters, native of Newtown Clifloney, who stand charge ! with having, on the 3rd Decem- ber, 1876, in the barony of Carbury, parish of Ahamlish, committed a criminal assault on Bessie Gilmartin:— 1. Felix Kearns— Pimples on face, delicate appear- ance, large mouth slightly turned; gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, slight make, 5 feet inches high, about 10 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is an assistant teacher in National School. 9. Patrick Waters— Heavy eyebrows; brown eyes, sharp noso, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 6 feet 9$ inches high, abont 19 years of age, browu hair; wore a round hat dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of an ass, cart, and harness, the property of William Kennedy, of Castlewaller, which were stolen from his place at Castlewaller, parish of Kilnarath, barony of Owney and Arra, on the night of the 16th of February, 1877 :— A gelding ass, 2| years old, gray colour, the mane and hair of top ot tail cut, the right fore foot had dry rot. The dray was painted red, the top of shafts and heel- block black, a seat baord for sitting on across the dray. The tackling was new and not blackened or coloured. The whole value for abont £ 5 sterling Newport, Feb. 30, 1877. ( 13114 c— 31629.) DESCRIPTION of Richard Bourke, native of Rath- cardan who stands charged with having, on the 19th January, 1877, in the barony of Kilnamanagh Upper parish of Glenkeen, inflicted with a blunt weapon an injury en the head of John Bourke, at Rath cardan, from the effrcts ef which he died on 20 th inst,;— Gray eyes, long nose, fresh complexion, long face, slifcht make, 6 feet high, about 80 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a frieze frock coat, gray tweed trowsers aod vest. Tyrone. __ DESCRIPTION of William James Devlin, native of Coolreagh, near Cookstown, who staads charged with having, on the 83nd January, 1877, in the barony of Upper Dungannon, parish of Derryloran, absconded from Cookstown, taking with him upwards of £ 20 sterling of his property, which ought, by law, to be divid d amongst his cr ditors he having been adjudicated a bankrupt on the 25th January, 1877 :— Straight active appearance, broad square. shoulders ; rather good- looking; gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 6 feet ll inches higW, aVout 38 years of age, light brown hair cut very short, large Jight brown whiskers ; wore a tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. It is supposed he proceeded to Dublin on the night that he absconded. A Warrant has been issued for h: s fpprahension. Cookstown, Feb. 33, 1877. ( 11889 c.— 21593.) DESCRIPTION of 3 persons, names and native places unknown, wbo stand charged with having, on the night of the 10th of January, 1877, in the barony of Upper Dungannon, parish of Ballyclog, seriously assaulted Henry Conway, from the effects of which he now lies dangerously ill:— 1. Unknown— Pale complexion, slender make, ratber tall, 17 or 18 years of age, dark hair, no beard or whiskers; boyish appearance. 3. Unknown— Dark complexion, low set make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, dark hair and whiskers. ! Cookstown, Jan. 16, 1877. ( 11789 c.— 21038.) DESCRIPTION of William Shields, native of Beragh, who stands charged with haviog, on the 32nd of December, 1876, in the barony of East Omagh, parish of Termonmagulrk, burglariously entered the dwelling- house of Patrick Donnelly, of Gortfinbar, and stolen therefrom, a five- pound note, and four shillings in silver:— Holds his head to right tide; bald on top of head, gray eyes, long hooked nose, dark complexion, round face, stout matte, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 60 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a black cap, black napped coat, cord trowsers, white moleskin vest. DESCRIPTION of Sydney Hopkins, native of Powers- court, who stands charged with haviig, on the 17th January, 1877, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Powerscourt, absconded and stolen the sum of £ 2, the property of his father, John Hopkins : — Large deep scar over right temple, is strange in his manner, but intelligent; bazel'eyes, regular nose florid complexion, small face, slender make, 4 feet 10 inches high, about 13 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trowsers and vest, had a leather strap round his waist The Enniskerry Constabu- lary hold a Warrant for his arrest.
