DESCRIPTION of 2 men, supposed to be James Keogh, native cf Freeduff, and John Lynch, native of Ballywillan, who stand charged with having, on the 17th day of January, 1877, in barony of Clonmahon, parish of Drumlumman, along with another man, who has been arrested, waylaid and seriously assaulted Michael Hope :— 1. DESCRIPTION of Donohue, native place un- known, who stands charged with having, on the 80th January, 1877, in the barony of Bantry, parish of Kilmocomoge, stolen a trowsers, the property of John M'Grath, of Coosane, which have since been recovered:— Small gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 7£ inches high, about 35 years of age, short sandy hair, thin foxy beard, whiskers, and moustache; wore a dark frock coat, dark trowsers, and vest; is a tramp, and sings comic songs where he lodges ( genarallv at farmers' houses), and states that he means to become a pedler. DESCRIPTION of Margaret Green, native of Mul- lagh, who stands charged with having, on the 7th day of June, 1876, in the barony of Islands, parish of Drumcliff, committed bigamy:— Brown eyes, cocked nose, sallow complexion, flat face, very stout make, 4 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age. dark hair; wore a short dress of gaudy colours. R., who stands charged with having, on the 22nd March, 1875, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle:—• rather short neck, slightly round, shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of 3 persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 80th March, 1876, in the barony of Condons and Clangibbon, parish of Mitchelstown, been two of a party who fired at and wounded Patten Bridge, esq., and Constable Mathew Nugent, and shot John Hyland dead at same time and place:— 1. Unknown— Fair complexion, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 85 years of age, sandy whiskers nearly meeting under the chin; wore a cloth frock coat; had his face blackened. 3. DESCRIPTION of Denis Shea and Ali: e Shea, husband and wife, natives of Killorglin, Kerry, who stand charged with having, on the 4th February, 1877, in the barony of Barrymore, parish of Caherlag, stolen a donkey cart, the property of Patrick Sexton, which has since been recovered:— 1. Denis, Shea— Black spot under right eye, grty eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, large mouth, 6 feet 2 inches high, about 44 years of age, black hair, shaves all bis face; is a travelling fish dealer. 2. Alice Shea— Sunken black eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, oval faco, thin make, 4 feet 10 inches high, about 46 years of age, dark hair. DESCRIPTION of Denis Murphy, native of Knockna- boola, district of Killarney, Kerry, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd July, 1876, at Kingwilliamstown, in the barony of Duhallow, parish of Nohavaldaly, so seriously assaulted Michael Conners that he died on the 35 th July, 1876, ( see Hue- and- Cry, 1st August, 1876):— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, stout make, 6 feet 5 inches high, about 30 years of age; is a labourer. Leitrim* DESCRIPTION of 4 persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 19th of February, 1877, in the barony of Carrie- alien, parish of Carrigallen, been four of an armed party who entered the house of Patrick Murray, at Cornagh, and, having presented a revolver at bim, compelled him to swear that he would give up possession of his house in six days :— 1. Unknown— Fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 26 years of age, fair hair. 2. Unknown— Small space between two upper front teeth; short thick nose, full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 26 years of age. 8, Unknown— Fair complexion, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 27 years of age; wore a black coat. 4. Limerick. - DESCRIPTION of two persons unknown, who stand eharged with having, on the 7th February, 1877, at Ballyengland, in the barony of Lower Connello, parish of Askeaton, maliciously entered Mr. Hewson's harness room and cut up two sets of harness, value £ 20 :— - s . 1. Unknown—' Big, light- coloured eyes ; long face, 6 feet high, about 20 years of age ^ wore a black cap, black double- breasted coat, and moleskin trowsers. 2. DESCRIPTION of William Watkins alias Thompson, native of county of Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 81st January, 1877, in the barony of North- west Liberties, parish of Temple- more, escaped from Londonderry gaol, where he had been committed for trial on a charge of larceny:— Good- looking; smart, active, and respectable appearance ; dark brown eyes, regular nose, dark complexion regular face, medium make, 8 feet 6 inches high about 36 years of age, dark hair, slight dark moustache and whiskers, which may now be shaved; wore a round felt hat, dark coloured coat, striped trowsers. DESCRIPTION of James Cassidy, native of Kil- nashee, Drumlish, county Longford, who stands charged with having, on the 9th January, 1877, in the barony of Longford, parish of Killoe, seriously assaulted bis stepfather, Michael O'Hara:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 16 years of age ; wore a gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black cloth vejt ? is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of a' man, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 11th of August, 1876, at about half past 11 o'clock, A. M., in the barony of Garra, parish of Drum, at Loonamore, discharged three shots from a revolver from behind a rick of turf at George R. Acton, esq., Bridgemount, as he drove by, returning from the fair of Balla:— Face not muscular, about 13 stone weight, seemingly a man not accustomed to hard labour, swarthy or much sun- burnt complexion, round iace, very full make 5 feet 8 inches high, 40 years of age, dark sandy hair, beard and moustache; brown frieze sack coat, dark tweed vest, whitish trowsers, and a soft hat, with high crown. DESCRIPTION of Peter Kevin, native of Hammons- town, county Westmeath, who stands charged with having, on the 5th February, 1877, in the barony of Demifore, parish of Moylagh, stolen two ewe sheep, the property of James Fitzsimons :— Bow- legged; gray eyes, regular nose, yellow complexion, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a jerry hat, gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest. Monaghan DESCRIPTION of Alexander Gibson, ( mother's sur- name Newell,) native of Glen, who stands charged with having, on the 38th day of January, 1877, M the barony of Dartree, parish of Ematris, stolen the sum of £ 19 from his father's house:— Scar at corner of eye, good- looking and well set up, slightly freckled, speaks with a slight lisp ; gray eyes, regular nose, fair and florid complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 31 years of age, sandy hair: wore a black jerry hat, fine blue cloth top coat, dark tweed suit, elastic boots. He is believed to have gone to Scotland in company with a girl ( a domestic servant) named Fanny Smith. The Rockcorry Constabulary hold a Warrant for his arrest. He is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Kenna, native of Listra- hegney, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of December, 1876, in the barony of Monaghan, Darish of Tullycorbett) left the service of Mr. Wallace, of Braddocks, and it is feared that she has met with foul play:— Brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet high, about 19 years of age; wore a white hat, with black and white ribbon, red woollen shawl, black dress, blue skirt, elastic boots; is a servant. DESCRIPTION of John Farrell, supposed native of Dunlavin, county Wicklow, who stands charged ltfth having, on the night of the 25th January, 1877, in the barony of Stradbally. parish of Moyanna, stolen a dark tweed short frock coat, and a light tweed vest, both new, and value for £ 2 or upwards, the property of James Tynan, of Vicarstown :— Pearl on. left eye, small mark like evil on right side of neck ; blaok eyes, regular nose, yellow complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feat 5 inches high, about 35 years of age, black hair: wore a sdft black hat, worn gray melton'coat, new cord trowsers, old dark tweed vest; might be weaving the stolen clothes. DESCRIPTION of Felix Kearns, native of Cliffoney, and Patrick Waters, native of Newtown Cliffoney, who stand charged with having, on the Srd Decem- ber, 1876, in the barony of Carbury, parish of Ahamlish, committed a criminal assault on Bessie Gilmartin:— 1. Felix Kearns— Pimples on face, delicate appear- ance, large mouth slightly turned; gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, slight make, 5 feet 6£ inches high, about 19 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is an assistant teacher in National School. 9. Patrick Waters— Heavy eyebrow*; brown eyes, sharp nosa, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, K feet 9J inches high, about 19 years of age, brown hair; wore a round hat. dark tweed coat, dark trowsersand vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of an ass, cart, and harness, the property of William Kennedy, of Castlewiller, which were stolen from bis placc at Castlewaller, parish Of Kilnarath, barony of Owney and Arra, on the night of the 16th of February, 1877 :— A gelding ass, 2£ years old, gray colour, the mane and hair cf top of tail cut, the right fore foot had dry rot. Tbe dray was painted red, the top of shafts and heel- block black, a seat baord for sitting on across the dray. The tackling was new and not blackened or coloured. DESCRIPTION of Patrick M'Ginley, native of Strabane, who stands charped with having, on the 7th February, 1877, in the barony of Strabane Lower, parish of Leckpatrick, and county Tyrone, absconded from bail, being for trial at Omagh Assizes, on a charge of assault with intent:— Blue eyes, prominent nose, fresh complexion, long face, medium make, 6 feet 8 inches high, about 95 years of age, brown hair; wore a round soft hat, blue frock coat, check trowsers, and vest. ( 8691 o.— 31466.) f DasoMSTioN of William James Devlin, native of Coolreagh, near Cookstown, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd January, 1 « 77, in the barony of Upper Dungannon, parish of Derryloran, absconded, taking with him property available for his creditors, he having been adjudicated a bankrupt:— Straight active appearance and broad iquare shoulders ; rather good- looking; gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 38 years of age, light brown hair cut very short, large light brown whiskers; wore a tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. DESCRIPTION of an ass's car and harness, the property of Hugh Foley, which were stolen from the lands of Ballymurtha, parish of Clone, barony of Scarawalsh, on tbe night of 39th or morning of 80th January, 1877 :— A new car, painted green, wheels painted red, two bent shuttles on front of car, piece broken off side of fore back; value for £ 8 10*.
