M., on tbe 8th February, 1877 :— • James Walsh, alias Michael Egan. 52 years of age, convicted on 15th July, 1871, at Kilkenny; is a labourer, born in Thomastown, resided before con- viction in Kilkenny; his frieads reside at Thomas- town; browa hair thin ot crown, small whiskers gray eyes, light brown eyc'orows, small nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, large visage, stout make, 6 feet 4 t ioches high ; wints the large toe of left foot, varicose veins in calf of right leg ; wore a jerry hat, d » rk lrieze monkey jacket, cord trowsers, striped barracan vest:, navvy boots heavily nailed, all marked with letters L. P. Informatio I respecting the above- named convict to be given at the Constabulary stations, or to the officer in charge of convicts at Lusk. Notice.— V. reward of from £ 3 to £ 5 may be paid to any person who may apprehend and deliver up a convict who shall have effected h! s escape from a Government prison. By Act 19th and 30th Vic., cap. 68, sec. 39, it is provided that any person who shall by any means whatever aid and assist any prisoner to escape, or in attempting to escape, shall be guilty of felony, and, being coavic'ed thereof, shall be kept in penal ser- vitude for any term cot lesi than six nor more than eight years. DESCRIPTION of the under mentioned, who is wanted for forging the names of Wright and Symms, stockbrokers, to a cheque for £ 140, and urtering same at the Royal Bank, Foster- p'ace, Dublin, where he obtained said sum on the 27th Janna y, and absconded :—. ha lf s William Smith, about 40 y a s old, but looks older, 5 feet 9 inches high, pale com- p'exion, dark hair turning gray, wore all his beard; dressed in o dioary •' ark clothes, is a na ive of Bath, a discharged soldier, and suspected of havi g eloped wi h a femalo from Cardiff wi h whom he corresponded. DESCRIPTION of 2 men, supposed to be James Keogh, native of Freeduff, and John Lynch, native of Ballywillan, who stand chirged with having, on the 17th day of January, 1877, in barony of Clonmahon, parish of Drumlumman, along with another man, who has been arrested, waylaid and seriously assaulted Michael Hope:— 1. R., who stands charged with having, on the 33nd March, 1876, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle:— Rather thort neck, slightly round shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 6 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown cnrly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of 3 persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with htnng, on the 30th March, 1876, in the barony of C radons and Clangibbon, parish of Mitchelstown, been two of a party who fired at and wounded Patten Bridge, esq., and Constable Mathew Nngent, and shot John Hyland dead at same time and place:— 1. Unknown— Fair complexion, stout m\ fre, 6 feet 10 inches high, about 86 years of age, sund/ whiskers nearly meeting under the chin; * cloth frock coat; had his face blackened. 3. DESCRIPTION of John Sullivan, native or county Kerry, a lunatic, who escaped from Killarney Lunatic Asylum on llth February, 1877:— Dark eyes, straight nose, dark complexion, pale face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 26 years of age, bltck hair; wore a friere cap, frieze coat, cord trowsers, frieze vest, clothing branded on the inner side with the letters K. The bullocks described in Hue and- Cry, 6th Feb- ruary, 1877, have been recovered, and the follow^ g is the description of the person charged with having stolen them:— DESCRIPTION of an unknown person, who stands charged with having, on the 8rd January, 1877, in the barony of North Naas, parish of Naas, stolen 2, bullocks, the property of John Hearns, and with having offered them for sale in the Dublin market on the 4th January:— Long straight thin nose, sallow complexion, slender make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark brown hair, slight moustache and whiskers; wore an old black jerry hat, black overcoat, seedy black cloth trowsers, brown tweed vest, elastic- side boots; had the appear* ance of a shoemaker. Unknown— Big, light- coloured eyes; long face, [ 6 feet high, about 20 years of age s wore a black cap, ' black double- breasted coat, and moleskin trowsers. 2. DESCRIPTION of James Cassidy, native of Kil- nashee, Drumlish, county Longford, who stands charged with having, on the 9th January, 1877, in the barony of Longford, parish of Killoe, seriously, assaulted bis stepfather, Michael O'Hara:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 16 years of age : wore a gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black cloth vejtj is a labourer. He will probably go to Scotland to work in some of the mines near Glasgow. Longford, Jan. 19, 1877. ( 11836 o. - 21104.) DESCRIPTION of William Carty, native of Augha- reagh, who stands charged with having, on the 81st December, 1876, in the barony of Granard, parish of Columbkille, committed a rape :— Slouching gait, stoops his head when walking ; Gray eyes, large nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet high about 28 years of age, fair hair » is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of a man, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 11th of August, 1876, at about half past 11 o'clock, A. M., in the barony of Carra, parish of Drum, at Loonamore, discharged three shots from a revolver from behind a rick of turf at George R. Acton, esq., Bridgemount, as he drove by, returning from the fair of Balla:— Face not muscular, about 13 stone weight, seemingly a man not accustomed to hard labour, swarthy or much sun- burnt complexion, rounct race, very full make 5 feet 8 inches high, 40 years of age, dark sandy hair, beard and moustache; hrown frieze sack coat, dark tweed vest, whitish trowsers, and a soft hat, with high crown. Castlebar, Aug. 26, 1876. ( 10271 18517.) John M'Coy ( failing to appear having been bailed) not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 6th December, 1876. Convict John Woods, 9084, ( breaking conditions of his licence) not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 32nd August, 1876. with having, on the 28th day of January, 1877, in the barony of Dartree, parish of Ematris, stolen the sum of £ 19 from his father's house :— Scar at corner of eye, good- looking and well set up, slightly freckled, speaks with a slight, lisp ; gray eyes, regular no'e, fair and floiid complexion, regular face, medium make, 6 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 21 years of age, sandy hair wore a black jerry hat, fine blue cloth top coat, dark tweed suit, elastic boots. He is believed to have gone to Scotland in company with a girl ( a domestic servant) named Fanny Smith. The Rockcorry Constabulary hold a Warrant for his arrest. He is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Keirna, native of Listra- hegney, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of December, 1876, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Tullycorbett, left the service of Mr. Wallace, of Braddocks, and it is feared that she has met with foul play:— Brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 6 feet high, about 19 years of age; wore a white bat, with black and white ribbon, red woollen shawl, black dress, blue skirt, elastic boots ; is a servant. 8he is supposed to have gone to Belfast Monaghan, January 6,1877. DESOBIPTION of Peter Kevin, native of Hammons- town, county Westmeath, who stands charged with having, oa the 5th February, 1877, in the barony of Demifore, parish of Moylagh, stolen two ewe sheep, the property of James Fitzsimons;— Bow- legged; gray eyes, regular nose, yellow complexion, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark brown hair; were a jerry hat, gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest. DESCRIPTION of John Farrell, supposed native of Dunlavin, county Wicklow, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 25th January, 1877, in the barony of Stradbally, parish of Moyanna, stolen a dark tweed short frock coat, and a light tweed vest, both new, and value for £ 2 or upwards, the property of James Tynan, of Vicarstown :— Pearl on left eye, small mark, like evil on right side of neck; black eyes, regular nose, yellow complexion, full face, stout make, 6 feet 6 inches high, ab. out 26 years of age, black hair ; wore a soft black hat, worn gray melton coat, new cord trowsers, old dark tweed vest; might be wearing the stolen clothes. DESCRIPTION of Felix Kearns, native of Cliffoney, and Patrick Waters, native of Newtown Clifioney, who stand charged with having, on the 8rd Decem- ber, 1876, in the barony of Carbury, parish of Ahamlish, committed a criminal assault on Bessie Gilmartin:— i V - 1. Felix Kearns— Pimples on fact, delicate appear- ance, large mouth slightly turned; gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, slight make, 6 feet inches high, about 19 years of age, fair ha'r j wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is an assistant teacher in National School. 3. Patrick Waters— Heavy eyebrowt; brown eyes, sharp noss, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 9^ inches high, about 19 years of age, brown hair; wore a round hat. dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. F DESCRIPTION of William James Devlin, native of Coolreagh, near Cookstown, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd January, 1877, in the barony of Upper Dungannon, parish of Derryloran, absconded, taking with him property available for his creditors, he having been adjudicated a bankrupt:— Straight active appearance and broad square shoulders; rather good looking; gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 88 years of age, light brown hair cut very short, large light brown whiskers; wore a tweed coat, trowsers, and vest.
