DUBLIN, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 1877. 4" ENGLISH POLICE. Frederick Charles Stanley Bennett alias Bebbing- ton, described in Hue- and- Cry, 30th January, 1877, has been arrested. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. G Division; DESCRIPTION of the under- mentioned, who is wanted for forging the names of Wright and Symms, Stockbrokers, to a cheque for .£ 140, and uttering same at the Royal Bank, Foster- place, Dublin, where he obtained said sum on the 27th Janna y, and absconded Charles William Smith, about 40 years old, but looks o'der, 5 feet 9 inches high, pale com- plexion, dark hair turning gray, wore all his beard; dressed in o dit ary dark clothes, is a native of Bath, a discharged soldier, and suspected of having eloped with a female from Cardiff with whom he corresponded. i Information to Superintendent John Mallorij No. 8, Exchange- court, Dublin, who holds a Warrant for his arrest. DESCRIPTION of 2 men, supposed to be James Keogh, native of Freeduff, and John Lynch, native of Ballywillan, who stand charged with having, on the 17th day of January, 1877, in barony of Clonmahon, pa* S of Drumlumman, along with another man, been arrested, waylaid and seriously assaulted Michael Hope:— 1. Supposed James Keogh— Gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular lace, stout make, 6 feet 6 inches high, between 20 and 95 years of age, dark hair , wore a cap, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest is a Farmer s son. 2. Supposed John Lynch, eaady complexion medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high about 20 years of age, light coloured thin beard wore a old ronnd hat gray coat; is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of Margaret Green, native of Mul- lagh, who stands charged with having, on the 7th day of June, 1876, in the barony of Islands, parish of Drumcliff, committed bigamy:— Brown eyes, cocked nose, sallow complexion, flat face, very stout make, 4 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair; wore a short dress of gaudy colours. R., who stands charged with having, on the 33nd March, 1875, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, esq., agent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle Rather short neck, slightly round shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of 3 persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 80th March, 1876, in the barony of Condons and Clangibbon, parish of Mitchelstown, been two of a party who fired at and wounded Patten Bridge, esq., and Constable Mathew Nugent, and shot John Hyland dead at same time and place :— 1. Unknown— Fair complexion, stout make, 6 feet 10 inches high, about 86 years of age, sandy whiskers nearly meeting under the chin; wore a cloth frock coat; had his face blackened. 3. Unknown— Fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 85 years of age, large sandy whiskers; wore a soft hat, faded cloth coat Mitchelstown, April 6,1878. ( 5183 c.— 16188.) DESCRIPTION of Denis Murphy, native of Knockna- boola, district of Killarney, Kerry, who stands charged with having, on the 38rd July, 1876, at Kingwilliamstown, in the barony of Duhallow, parish of Nohavaldaly, so seriously assaulted Michael Conners that he died on the 25th July, 1876, ( see Hue- and- Cry, 1st August, 1876):— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, stout make, 6 feet 5 inches high, about 30 years of age; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of James Kilmartin, ( mother's sur- name Malone,) native of county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 25th day of January, 1877, in the barony of Moycullen, parish of Kil- cummin, grievously assaulted Matthew Folan:— Rather high cheek- bones, front teeth large and promi- nent ; gray eyes, long and slightly cocked nose, fair complexion, muscular face, stout make, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, fair hair, sma 1 sandy whiskers ; wore a flannel coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Londonderry, DESCRIPTION of William Watkins alias Thompson, native of county of Londonderry, who stands charged wi'h having, on the 81st January, 1977, in the barony of North- west Liberties, parish of Temple- more, escaped from Londonderry gaol, where he had been commiited for trial on a charge of larceny:— Good- looking; smart, active, and respectable appearance ; dark brown eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, regular face, medium make, 6 feet 6 inches high about 96 years of age, d* rk hair, slight d » i* k moustache aad whiskers, which may now be shaved; • word a round felt hat, dark coloured coat, striped trowsers. DESCRIPTION of James Cassidy, nativo of Hil- nashee, Drumlish, county Longford, who stands charged with having, on the 9th January, l » 77, in the barony of Longford, parish of Killoe", seriously assaulted bis stepfather, Michael O'Hara:—. Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 16 years of age; wore a gray frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black clcth vest; is a labourer. He will probably go to Scotland to work in some of the mines near Glasgow. Longford, Jan. 19, 1877. DESCRIPTION of Mary M'Keirna, native of Listra- hegney, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of December, 1876, in the barony of Monaghan parish of Tullycorbett* left tho service of Mr. Wallace, of Braddocks, and it is feared that she has met with foul play:— Brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet higb, about 19 years of age; wore a white , hat, with black and white ribbon, red woollen shawl, black dress, blue skirt, elastic boots ; is a servant. DESCRIPTION of John Farrell, supposed native ol Dunlavin, county Wicklow, who stands charged with having, on the ni? ht of the 25th Ja aiary, 1877, in| the barony of Stradbally, parish of Moyanna, stolen! a dark tweed short frock coat, and a light tweed vest, both new, and value far £ 2 or upwards, tliei property of James Tynan, of Vicarstown :— Pearl on left eye, small mark like evil on right side of neck; Wack eves, regular nose, yellow complexion, full face, stout mako, 5 feit 5 inches high, about 2S years of age, black hair ; wore a soft black hat, worn gray melton coat, new cord trowsers, old dark tweed vest J might be wearing tho stolen elothes. Acton, esq., Bridgemount, as he drove by, returning from the fair of Ball*:— " ace not muscular, about 18 stone weight, seemingly a man not accustomed to hard labour, swartLy of much sun burnt complexion, round lace, verj ihll make 5 feet 8 inches high, 40 years ot age, dark satidy hair, beard and moustache; brown frieze sack coat, dark tweed vest, whitish trowsers, and a sol' hat, with high crown. ( 11896 < w- 8t> fifl « U DESCRIPTION ef Thomas Hunt, ( mother's surname Quigley,) native of Knockgranagh, who stands charged with having, on the 29th November, ult., in the barony of Leyney, parish of Achonry, murdered John M'Gloin, by fracturing his skull With a large stone :— Down- looking appearance, two upper front teeth large and prominent, high cheek bones, large heavy lips, sunken jaws, very broad shoulders; glaring black eyes, slightly cocked nose, sallow complexion, oval face, stout make, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 27 or 28 years of age, black hair, small dark moustache; wore a dark cloth coat, trowsers, and vest. Was in America, and lately returned from England, where he worked as a labourer. Has a pair of English- made navvy boots, with iroh plates under toes, also * pair of light Wellington boots. DESCRIPTION of Felix Kearns, native of Cliffoney, and Patrick Waters, native of Newtown Cliffoney, who stand charged with having, on the Srd Decem- ber, 1876, in the barony of Carbury, parish of Ahamlisb, committed a criminal assault on Bessie Gilmartin — 1. Felix Kearns— Pimples on face, delicate appear- ance, large mouth slightly turned'fgray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, slight make, 6 feet 61 inches high, about 19 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is an assistant teacher in National School. 9. Patrick Waters— Heavy eyebrows; brown eyes, sharp nosa, fair complexion, regular face, sto'it make, fj feat 94 inches high, about 19 years of age, brown hair; wore a round hat, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Unknown— Pale complexion, slender make, rather tall, 17 or J8' years of age, dark hair, no beard or whiskers; boyish appearance. 3. DeScrIPTION of Sydney Hopkins, native of Powers- court, who stands charged with having, on the 17th January, 1877, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Powerscourt, absconded and stolen the suttt of £ 2, the property of his father, John Hopkins :— Large deep' scar over right temple, ts strange in hit manner, but intelligent; hazel eyes, regular nose, florid complexion, small face, slender make, 4 feet 10 ches high, about 13 years of age, brown hair; word a dark tweed- coat, trowsers and vest, had a leather strap round his waist.
