Antrim DESCRIPTION of Henry M'Dowell, native of Bally- bollen, who stands charged with having, on the 12th July, 1875, in the barony of Upper Toome, parish of Grange, assaulted Andrew Black, at Gillestown, who died on the 8th instant:— Bow legs, short thick neck, toore all hit beard; blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, brown hair; wore a soft hat, dark coat, striped trowsers, dark vest. DESCRIPTION of Jeremiah Coghey, na'ive of Glounthan. county Cork, who stands charged with having, on the 18t'n July, 1876, at Ballymacaula, in the barony of Islands, parish of Drumcliff, threat- ened to shoot Honoria Slattery, and also with having a lady's new linen night dress, with two pockets, Cork. The special attention of the Constabulary is directed to the following: DESCRIPTION of John Ryan, native of Cooladerry, county Cork, E. R., who stands charged with having, on the 22nd March, 1875, in the barony of Coshlea, parish of Kilbeheny, fired at Patten S. Bridge, esq., a^ ent to Nathaniel Buckley, esq., Galtee Castle:— Rather short neck, slightly round, shoulders; Brown eyes, hooked nose, fresh slightly freckled complexion, long face, stout make 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown curly hair, sandy whiskers; wore a dark coat, cord trowsers, light vest. DESCRIPTION of 2 persons, names °- nd native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 80th March, 1876, in the barony of Condons and Clangibbon, parish of Mitchelstown, been two of a party who fired at and wounded Patten Bridge, esq., and Constable Mathew Nugent, and shot John Hyland dead at same time and place :— 1. Unknown— hair complexion, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 85 years of age, sandy whiskers nearly meeting under the chin; wore a cloth frock coat; had his face blackened. 2. Unknown— Fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 85 years of age, large sandy whiskers > wore a soft hat, faded cloth coat. Mitchelstown, April 5,1876. DESCRIPTION of Denis Murphy, native of Knockna- boola, district of Killarney, Kerry, wbo stands charged with having. on the July, 1870, at Kingwilliamstown, in ihe barony of Duhallow, parish of Nohavaldaly, so seriously assaulted Michael Conners that he died on the 25th July, 1876, ( see Hue- and- Cry, 1st August, 187 6):— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 20 years of age ; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of convict William Kerr ( 2411), who has broken the conditions of his licence, in having left Dublin without reporting his departure to ihe Police:— Convicted at Cork, at June Sessions, on 7th June, 1872, for larceny from the person, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude; 35 yeais of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Pjotes- tant, single, is a tea dealer, born in Dublin; resided before conviciion in Mary- street, Dublin; states that ha has no friends; light brown hair, gray eyes, light brown eyebrows, large hooked nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, thin oval visago, slender make, 5 feet niches high; mole on left eyebrow, " iVf. M'S." tattooed on right arm. The above- named convict wai released from Lusk Convict Prison, May 6, 1876, on an order of licence, and took his discharge for Dublin, which place he left without reporting himself. It is supposed he has gone to England. In ' he event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under the 5th section of tha Prevention of Crimes Act, 84 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. Is an unattested recruit of the Royal Artillery, and belonged to the Londonderry Militia. Description of the horse and cart. An old horse, 16 bands higb, dun colour, dark legs, white star on forehead, some hair off the knees; cart painted blue, the property of Robert Ogilbie, of Greysteell, county Londonderry. DESCRIPTION of convict John Woods ( 9084), who has broken the conditions of his licence, in not reporting himself to'the Constabulary on change of residence:— Convicted at Castlebar, county Mayo, at Spring Assizes, on I9tn March, 1873, for larceny, and sentenced to 6 years' penal servitude; 18 years of » sre on conviction, reads and writes a little, is a roman Catholic, single, states he is a stoker's attendant; born at Liverpool; resided before con- viction at Ballycroy, county Mayo, where he has driends residing $ light brown hair, blue eyes, brown eyebrows, lprg nose, regular moulh, small space between two front 1 eeth in lower jaw, fair complexion, small oval vieago; a cut on first finger of left hand; a cut on front of forehead, right side; a smaU, out on check near right e> e, a cut at right side of mouth, a sore mark on right side of neck; slender make 6 feet 7 inches high. The above- named convict was released from Mount- joy Prison, 13th March, 1870, on au order of licence. This man reported himself to. the Constabulary at Drogheda on the 11th June, 1876, and stated that | he would leave on that evening for Ballycroy, county Mayo, but he has failed to report himself there, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under the 6th section of the Prevention of Crimes Act, 81 and 35 Vic., chap. 112. Government Prisons Office, Dublin Castle, July 7, 1876. DESCRIPTION of 3 persons, names unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 17th June, 1876, in the barony of Demifore, parish of Killeagh, demanded an entrance into the dwelling of Daniel Murphy, of Ross, and, having been refused, fired two shots and threatened his life if he proceeded with an ejectment process against a man named Harry Coyle:— 1. Unknown— Long thin face and nose, slight make, 6 feet 10 inches high, about 33 years of age: wore a hairy cap with peek, frieze frock coat, dark trowsers. 2. Unknown— Round face, stout make, 6 feet 6 inches high, about 26 years of age; wore a black jerry hat, frieze frock coat, dark trowsers. 3. Monaghan, DESOBIPTION of Thomas Harris, native of Cool- arthur ; James M'Bennett, native of Lemgar; Ned Burns: Henry Boyd, native of Lisnagrieve; and Patrick Trainor, native of Lemgar, who stand charged with having, on the 39th day of June, 1876, in the barony of Cremorne, parish of Clontibret, been concerned in the shooting of James Clarke:— 1. Thomas Harris— Dark eyes, slightly cocked no^ e, florid complexion, full face, medium mjJre, 6 feet 8 inches high, about 38 years of age, dark hair, slight brown beard and moustache; is a farmer's sou. 2. James M'Bennett— Gray eyes, long nose, fair complexion, slight make, 6 feet 9 inches high, about 30 years of age; wore a soft hat and black frock coat; is a school monitor. 8. The above- named convici was released from Spike JsUnd Prison, 18th Marcl, 1875, on an order of licence. He reported himself to the Constabulary at Ballaghaderreen on the 80th June, 1876, and stated that he intended to change his residence to Galway town, and would report himself there; he has failed to do so, and bis present whereabouts is unknown.
