The body was warm, and had a piece of tape tied Rightly round the neck, and was wrapped in a copy of the.' Standard' news- . payer of the 29th ultimo. A verdict of ' Wilful Murder by some person or persons unknown,' has been returned by the Coroner's Jury. £ 60 reward will be paid by the Govern- ment to any person who shall give such information and evidence as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the murder or murderers of the child ; and Mr. Secretary Cross will advise the grant Of Her Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice, not being the actual murderer, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to a like result. A man who gave the name of JAMES KEMP, ana stated that he resided at London, and was'the son of'Charles Kemp, of Aldringham, innkeeper, on the 12th instant, presented a cheque for £ 52 6s. 6d., purporting to be drawn ou the Halesworth Bank, and signed by Thomas Barnes, of Snape, at the Aldeburgh Branch of the said batik, and received the amount. The cheque on being presented at, tlie Haleswoith Bank was found to be a forgery ; be was paid by four £ 5 notes, three of which have been recovered,'- and the fourth is numbered 13441, cue £ 10 note, and the remainder in cash. The clerk sold him a cheque 1 o > k S. No. 6387 : he is about 30 years of age, dark hair, little whiskers, and about 5 feet 4 inches high ; dressed in black coat, with braid, much worn, black velvet waistcoat, dark trousers, thick boots, and black billycock hat. Information to be given to Police Constable Hammond, Aldeburgh, Suffolk.— Bow- street, October 16. Description of EDWARD SMITH, a builder's clerk, who absconded from Birmingham, charged with forging and uttering a Cheque, on the 18th ultimo : about 28 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 ins. high, dark hair, whiskers, and moustache, slight build, large full eyes, has a cast in one of them, large feet, a slight deformity in one, speaks with a Scotch or Northern dialect. He is supposed to have been previously employed in Sheffield, in some builder's yard. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Bond, Birmingham, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, October 13. On the night of the 7th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Blain, 8, Brunswick- square, Penrith, was burglariously entered, and stolen therein : a pair of sugar Tongs and six Tea Spoons, ail silver and marked ' A. M. B. two plated Tea Spoons ; a pair of plated sugar Tongs; six plated Table Spoons ; a dozen large dinner Knives and Forks, with black handles ; a carving Knife and Fork, with black handles; two plated salt Spoons ; a plated mustard Spoon ; a pairs of large Scissors, one pair recently ground; two skeins of brownish home- spun Wool; six Antimacassars ; and a scarlet and green flowered Cover for a small round table; A broad foot print without nail marks, apparently that of a boot or shoe recently soled, with small heel, was discovered in the soil near the window. By a man about 35 yerrs of age, light brown hair, rather large whiskers and moustache; dressed in brown coat, aud billycock hat. Stolen on the night of the 21st ultimo, from a field ou Llandwaud Farm, parish of Glenmorten, near Newport, Monmouth, the property of Mr. Richard Waters : a Hackney Mare, 6 years old, 15 hands high, colour ' bright bay, in good condition, a small white spot on forehead, a few white hairs on one hind foot, and a large lump under breast, nearly between the fore legs. Information to be given at the- Chief Constable's Office, Abergavenny; to Superintendent McIntosh, Monmouthshire Constabulary, Pontypool; or to Inspector Sheppard, County Constabulary, Newport, Mon- mouthshire.— Bow- street, October 13, Oil tho 2nd instant, a bay Mare, 5 years old, 15 hands high, and in good condition, broke away from the owner, Richard Keff, at Baldock, and was afterwards stolen and taken to London by a low horse dea'er, now in custody, and remanded fit t'ae Hitchin Petty Sessions till the 17th, named TOM WILLIAMS, alias GATES, 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, light hair and whiskers, cut shott, round face ; dressed in dark clothes, thick lace- up boots. Stolen during the night of the 26th ultimo, from a field, at Bostol Common, Abbey Wood : ablack. Found at Bury, on the 23rd ultimo : a red and white Cow, about 3 years old, has . three hair cut marks on left side of rump. It was in possession of a rrin who made his escape, an/' utt, 4"' years of age, abeut' 6 teet 3 inches high, swarthy complexion, brown moustache, slight whiskers, snipe nose, and hare lip ; dressed in dark cloth clothes, hard billy- cock hat, and shoes. He is a Welshman, and stated that he was a haulier residing at Frougoch Lead Mines, Cardiganshire. Description of two men charged with the offence : one is from 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet high, very red bair, and ginger colour whiskei-:, turns his feet out, and stands very erect; dressed iu a brown mix^ re cloth coat, . vest, and trousers, and brown hard MS bat ; Ritas the appearance of a horso dealer ; the other f om 30 to 35 years of age, 5 ft. 10 ias. higb, dark brown hair cut; very short, slight moustache and imperial, dark eyes, aud proportionate build, walks very erect ; dressed in a dark blue cloth coat, with raised seams, dark cloth vest and trousers, and alpaca hat with button on top. Description of HENRY BUTTERWORTH, charged Daventry, the property of Mr. Jeremiah Orams, and advertised ' on a warrant with stealing a blue ribbed cloth Coat and in the Police Gazette of the 29th ultimo. The mare has been ! Vest, a pair o£ elastic- side Boots ( kid tops and toe- caps), a recovered, and a man is in custody charged with stealing the j Rob Roy plaid Shirt, and 15s. in Money : about 28 years of same. Another man and lis wife, before described, are still t age, 5 feet 4 inches high, black hair, moustache, and eye- at large. The man is a hawker of. cheese, soap, & a., and is brows ( which meet, rendering him remarkable looking); stout build. October 18 Absconded : ALFRED MILNER, late rate collector, charged on a warrant with embezzling .£ 18 8a. ; the property ef the governor aud guardians o£ the poor of the United Parishes of Holy Trinity and St. Mary, in the Borough of Hull, on the 2nd June last; he is 25 or 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, pale eomplexiou, brown hair, very light moustache, and small whiskers; generally dresses in light clothing, and has a very effeminate manner of speaking. He left Hedon on the 13th instant, and had with him a black portmanteau, and may endeavour to leave the country. Information to be given to Chief Constable Cook, Hull, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, October 18. Description of a man who is charged with stealing a Hand Saw, two Planes, and a Chisel ( all recovered), the property of Joseph Garnett, at Gainsborough, on the 10th instant: 22 to 24 years of age, 5 feet 3 to 5 inches high, broad set, broad face and nose, large eyes and deeply set, light com- plexion, brown hair, sandy moustache ( slight), no whiskers, and said he was a joiner ; dressed in a grey cloth cap with drooping peak of same material, dark c'mth coat, no vest or stockings, and belongs to the county of Norfolk. Information to be given to Superintendent Sowden, Gainsborough, Lin- colnshire.— Bow- street, October 16, Absconded on the lst instant, from Rathbone- place, embezzling £ 150 : a man, 50 years of age, 5 feet 5g inches high, fair, wears a brown wig, and of respectable appearance. — Metropolitan Police, E Division, October 16, Stolen on the morning of the 9th instant: a silver verge Watch, No. 3015, the property of Henry Warman, of Chapel- street, West Bromwich. By a man, a lodger, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, slender build, thin feature, rather dark complexion, full eyes, moustache, and no whiskers; dressed in short blue jacket, much worn, pockets on hips, moleskin trousers and vest, light drab socks, soft billycock hat, blue striped cotton shirt, low shoes, and wears a strap. Information to be given at tbe Police Office, West Bromwich, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, October 16, Stolen from Dartford on the 5 th instant, a light Cart, with the seat painted blue. By SEAMAN BREEDS, who is from 24 to 28 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, with dark hair and whiskers ; dressed in a drab jacket with white bone buttons, cord trousers, and black round hat; he is a gipsy, attends fairs, & c., with cocoa nuts, and generally sleeps under a tent. Has with him an old cart and brown horse. His wife travels with him, who has black wavy hair, is a hawker, and carries a basket. Information to be given to Superinten- dent Fread, Kent Constabulary, Dartford.— Bow- st., Oct. 16. Stolen from Crockenhill on the night of the 11th instant: two white and one grey and white Ducks, and two very dark Drakes, with rings round their necks, about three parts grown. By a man, a basket maker, 22 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, light hair cut very short, small light mous- tache, whiskers shaved off, and walks very erect; dressed in a dark mixture cloth jacket, light cord trousers, and cap with peak ; he is a deserter from the army. He went in the direction of Bexley, where he is supposed to have disposed of the ducks. Information to be given to' Superintendent Fread, Kent Constabulary, Dartford.— Bow- street, Oct, 16. Absconded from Hanley, charged with stealing on the 9th instant, an Overcoat, recovered : a woman, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 1 inch high, fresh complexion ; dressed in old black bonnet, faded r. ed shawl, and old alpaca gown. She is travelling with a man, who has lost his right arm, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark whiskers, sings comic songs, and performs with a stick. Information to be given to Chief Constable Windle, Police Office, Hanloy, Staffordshire,— Bow- street, October 16. Stolen on the 9th instant, from the fisherman's Arms beer- house, ' Eastbourne, the property of Henry Wilmot and Richard Harrison : two cotton Shirts, one with blue and white stripes, the blue stripe wider than the white one, the other a twill check pattern ; and a red Wrapper, with white spots. By a man 22 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, slight moustache, whiskers shaved off; he said he was an engraver, but had the appearance of a shoemaker ; dressed in a dark double- breasted cutaway coat, dark trousers and vest, black bowler crown bat, and lace- up boots, nearly new, with the tops much cut about. Also stolen on the 10th instant, from the front hall at 30, Gildridge- road, Eastbourne, the property of George Fisher : a dark blua witney cloth Overcoat, with velvet crllar, nearly new, has pockets at sides, and one inside left breast. By a man, 24 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, slight moustache, no whiskers, front teeth project; he is an engraver, and is supposed to belong to Lancashire; dressed in a long dark coat, dark trousers, black alpine hat, boats much worn. Information to be given to Superintendent Newnham, East- bourne, Sussex.— Brno- street, October 16. Stolen on the 12th instant, from the yard of the ' George Hotel,' in the city of Lichfield : a double- breasted blue cloth Overcoat, dark linings, dark bone buttons, has two pockets outside with flaps, a small ticket pocket and inside left breast ditto, and a hard black billycock Hat, nearly rew. By a tramping stableman, about 21 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, rather stout, full face, dark hair, no whiskers or moustache, large grey eyes, sore on under lip, and bow- legged ; dressed in dark coat, grey plaid trousers, with narrow light stripe, and a patch on one knee. He talks of Swansea, and other parts of South Wales. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Hernaman, Guildhall, Lichfield, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, October 16. Absconded on the 5th instant from Elmswell, Suffolk, charged with stealing 5| pecks of Beans ; the property of Mr. Robt. Durrant: ALFRED LORD, 30 years of age, 5 ft. 8i inches high, fresh complexion, grey eyes, sandy hair, whiskers and moustache, two large scars in palm of left hand, mole on calf of left leg, scar on top of head, and the tips of three lingers of the left hand injured ; dressed in black cloth coat and vest, light brown trousers, and side- spring boots with buttons in front. He is under police supervision, and was discharged from Portland Prison on 11th July last. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Durrant, Ixworth, or to Inspector Tail, Woolpit, Suffolk, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, October 16. Stolen on the 3rd instant, from the dwelling- house of Robert Arthur Calvesbert, situate in Wellington- street, Ipswich : a silver Geneva Watch, No 11119, with steel Chain attached. By a man, about 50 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high ; dressed in light coat, and trousers, white billy- cock hat, and black aud white scarf. Information to be given to Head Constable Mason, Town Hall, Ipswich, Suffolk, — Bow street, October 16. Charged on a warrant with stealing on the morning of ] the 10th instant, from the schooner ' Harriett,' lying in . Portland- roads: £ 17 lOs^& fGold ; HENRY WHEATON, | 17 years of age, 5 feet 4 inchcs high, fair complexion, black j hair, slight impediment in his speech, and a slight recent burn wound on the neck. He formerly served in H. M. j Training Ship ' Warspite, and has a relative living in Kings- f land- road, London, ^ ajso friends . in Glauscas- street, Devon- road, Bow, Skidmore- street, White horse- lane, Stepney, and Earnest- street, White- horse- lane, Stepney. It is supposed that he will endeavour to engage as an ordinary seaman on a coasting or other vessel. Information to be given to Superintendent Batty, Dorset Constabulary, Dorchester.— Bow- street, October 13. Description of CHARLES COLES, charged with stealing on 2nd instant, 8a, the monies of his employer: 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark hair, very slight whiskers, sallow complexion, squints very much; dressed in old brown overcoat, cord trousers, and hard black felt hat, of very dirty appearance. He frequents low lodging and beer- houses. Information to be given to Head Constable Mathews, City Police Office, Canal, Salisbury, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, October 13. Stolen between 7 a. m. and 3 p. m. on the 7th i. istant, from a dwelling- house, at Old Hill, Rowley Regis, Stafford- shire, the property of William Wellings : a silver lever Watch, No. 39095, and a black cloth Jacket, nearley new. By a man who had been lodging in the house, and left on the 7th instant: about 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stout buLld, large full face, light brown hair, no whiskers ; dressed in a dark jacket and vest, grey trousers, and black billycock hat, all very shabby. Found in the river Coin, at the parish of Inglesham, on the 8th instant : the dead Body of a man, 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches long, dark hair, moustache and beard long, left leg and foot deformed ; dressed in high- crowned silk hat, dailt mixture cloth coat, black cloth vest and trousers, black silk neckscarf, with spring, grey flannel shirt, white cotton socks, elastic- side boots, the left one with cork sale three inches deep, all in good condition. An ashwood crutch and a good alpaca umbrella were found by the side of the river, and on the body two half- pence, two keys, a knife, with tortoiseshell handle and three blades, a linen front, with two gold- plated studs, with grey stone and a star in centre, and two white handkerchiefs, one with pink spots round the border. This man slept on the previous night at the High- worth and Swindon Union Workhouse, where he gave the name of JAMES FREDERICK DAVIS, and stated that he had been a schoolmaster, and also a clerk.
