Ako stolen during the same night, from a hedge near Newtown, a plaid flannel Shirt, a small striped flannel Shirt, aud a white- flannel Under Shirt, all men's size; the property of W. Worthington. Tramps are suspected. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Newtown, Montgomeryshire.— Bow- street, September 25. Stolen, by means of housebreaking, at Moat Hill, INFORMATIONS. During the afternoon of the 15th instant, a cottage at Defford, near Pershore, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a pair of dark cloth Trousers, fly fronts ; a pair of light grey cloth Trousers, with stripe, flap fronts; a grey cloth Yest, the buttons have the name 1 Wridgway' upon them; a black and red woollen plaid Shirt; a Towel; and 3s. 3d. Supposed by two tramps, one very dark, and black curly hair, and they had a white terrier dog, with dark ears, with them, and are supposed to have gone in Hereford- shire or Gloucestershire. Between 8 and 12 a, m. on the 14th instant, the cottage of James Coleman, of Oxneyfield, near Darlington, was broken. On the 2ud instant, the dead body of a newly- born female Child, fully developed, was found in Foot wood at Rochdale, aud on the 21st a verdict' of ' Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown' was returned by the coroner's jury. The body was wrapped in brown paper, covered with a small twilled calico sheet, marked ' C. H.,' and a much- worn striped cotton skirt, bound with, black worsted braid. Stolen from the person on the 17th instant, in Preston : a lady's silver Geneva Watch, No. supposed to be 21210, has ' J. Jump' scratched on che inside of the outer case, and a black cord attached. Stolen from the person between Pontefract and Ackworth, en the night of the 9th instant: a small size silver lever Watch, No. 4433, had attached a heavy 9- carat gold albert Guard, links about an inch long, connected with small ones, and an oval- shaped gold Locket. £ 1 reward will be paid on recovery of the property and conviction of the offender or offenders. Stolen by means of housebreaking from a dwelling- house at Tranmere, Cheshire, during the night of the 16th instant: a green morocco leather Purse, containing £ 15 in Gold; 3 pairs of grey twilled calico Sheets ; 1 pair of Blankets ; and 1 white knotted Counterpane. Information to be given to Superintendent Egerton, County Hall, Birkenhead.— Bow- street, September 20. Stolen by means of house- breaking from a warehouse in the borough of Bolton, during the 15th or 16th instant: six or eight Alhambra Quilts, colours orange, red, peach, green, and white, also four or five small sized, blue and white Alhambra Quilts; and 8 pairs of grey cotton Sheets, No. 12 Bize. £ 1 reward and the amount lent ( if, any) on the Articles will be paid for the recovery of the property and conviction of the offender or offenders. During the night of the 20th inst., a dwelling- house in Lichfield was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein : a long rough dark grey cloth ulster Overcoat, with band round middle pocket on one sleeve, small check cloth linings, pattern black and white ; and about 4s. £ 2 reward will be given for the recovery of the property, and wnviction of the offender or offenders. During the night of the 16th instant, a cottage at Reading was broken and entered, aud stolen therein: an open- face silver Geneva Watch, No. 37956; a white calico Shirt; a Shilling ; 2 lbs. of raw Bacou ; 2J lbs. of Beef ; and a pair of men's size lace- up Boots, tipped, nailed, and clumped. The Horse and Cart obtained from the livery stables of Mr. Richard Speight, ef Gravesend, on the 12th instant, and advertised in th<? Police Gazette of the 20th instant, have been found sold at Reading : two men of the following description are charged with stealing the same : one 27 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark complexion, and small moustache ; dressed in dark frock coat, plaid trousers, and high hat, with narrow verge. The other about 23 years oE age, stout, 5 feet 3 inches high, and clean face ; dressed in dark clothes, aud deerstalker hat. Information to be given to the City Police, Worcester.— Bow- street, September 25. Supposed stolen from a field at Plungar, Leicester, during the night of the 18th instant: a dark bay cart Horse, about 6 years old, about 16 hands high, has a scar on the inside near fore leg below the knee, the same leg has been clipped below the knee and blistered, and is a little swollen, has a scar on off hip, had no shoes on hind feet, in good condition; the property of Messrs. Benton and Woodiwiss, Bailway Con- tractors, Bottesford. Information to be given to Inspector Hinds, Constabulary Station, Bottesford, Leicestershire, near Nottingham.— Bow- street, September 25. Stolen at Login Farm, in the parish of Swansea Higher, the property of Mr. John Davies, farmer, on the night of the llth instant : a bay cart Mare, 7 years old, about 15 hands high, black mane and tail, the hair rubbed off butt of tail and top of mane, which is rather short, and a piece broken off one hind hoof. By EDWARD EVANS, who absconded from Forestfach, near Swansea, on the 18th instant: he is a miner and native of Helston, Cornwall, about 22 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion and eyes, very dark hair, which is cut short, thin features, and slight built; dressed in light snuff- coloured coat, bound with black braid, dark grey trousers, black vest, elastic- side boots, and light grey cloth bowler hat. Has been convicted of a similar offence in Cornwall twelve month ago. He is likely to seek employment as a collier oi miner. Information to be given to Superintendent Howlett, Constabulary Office, Neath, Glamorganshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. •— Bow- street, September 25. FREDERICK BEADSHAW, alias ALFRED PEAK BRADSHAW, charged with stealing a Horse and Cart at Further description of PETER CRUIS, rag and bone collector ( advertised in the Police Gazette of the 6th instant) : he is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, sallow com- plexion, black bair, brown eyes, full face, scar on forehead over left eye, and no moustache ; dressed in dark clothes, hard low felt hat, and | « sae- up boots; he was bcrn in Ros- common, Ireland, and is well known at Much Wenlock and Bridgewold. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Con- stable Ivins, Wellington, or to Sergeant Higgins, Dawley, Salop, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bm- street, September 22. Absconded on the 12th instant, from Bexley, stealing a £ 50 Bank of England Note : JOHN SUTCUFFE, alias " HAPPY JACK," 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair turning grey, whiskers shaved off, and tuft on chin dark brown ; dressed in a brown over- coat, dogskin collar, grey trousers and vest, and high black hat. He was accompanied by his wife, 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, ruddy complexion, full face, and light- brown hair; dress black with white stripe, black velvet bonnet trimmed red and white feathers; aud two sons, 16 and 18 years of age. Supposed to have been stolen on the night of the 13th instant, from a stable in Truro : a chesnut Horse, 8 years old, 14£ hands high, one white hind leg, and a ring round the near foreleg just above tbe fetlock, also two small sores on the near side of back. Information to be given to Superintendent Angel. Borough Police Office, Truro, Cornwall.— Bow- street,, Sevtember 18. Description of JOHN ALLEN, alias GIPSY JACK, charged with stealing 7 fowls, at Whaplode Marsh, on the 17th instant: he is about 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout build, dlark complexion, hair, and whiskers round chin ; dressed in old blue pilot cloth jacket, with pockets a, t sides, cord trousers, fustian vest, red and white muffler round neck, tied in a knot in front, blue « loth cap with peak. He frequents low beerhouses and. brothels. He is a preacher, and has been several times convicted of various offences in Lincolnshire. He occasionally works at thrashing machines, and was traced to Horncastle on the 17th inst, Information to be given to Superintendent Leaper, County Police Station, Spalding, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, September 25. He left Colchester in 1875 in company with several others, and obtained employment at the Victoria Docks, where he has worked within twelve mocths past. He states^ he is a native of Tottenham, near London ; was convicted at tbe Central Criminal Court in March, 1863, and sentenced to 6 years penal servitude for arson in Aug. 1870 ; waa convicted at the Lewis Assizes, and senteneed to .15 calendar months imprisonment for indecently assaulting a girl; was convicted at the Dorset Quarter Sessions and sentenced to two years imprisonment for an indecent assault; and has also been convicted at Bedford and other places. Found pawned in Bolton on the 14th and 15th instant, by a man who gives the name of JOHN SANDERSON, joiner, of Bradford, who waa committed on the 18th instant, to take his trial for stealing Apparel in the borough of Bolton : a blue pilot cloth Chesterfield Overcoat, double breasted, black velvet colla;, black sateen lining, trimmed with black horn buttons, two buttons on each cuff, two pockets outside, and ticket pocket with flaps over, and bound with black braid, to fit a youth 17 years of age, and one pair of man's strong lace- up Boots, heavily nailed at bottoms, similar to those worn by forge men, in good condition, and have recently been black- balled. Description of JOHN DUFFY, Reg. No. 2591, a convict license- holder, who has failed to report himself in compliance with tha conditions of his license : he was convicted at Bradford Sessions lst December, 1869, and sentenced to seven years penal servitude and seven years police supervision, for stealing ; was discharged from Portsmouth Convict Prison on the 9th February, 1876 ; he is 25 years of age, 5 feet 5J ins. high, black hair, grey eyes, fresh complexion, face slightly pockpitted, scar over upper lip, the bust of a woman, two men, flag, two crosses, dagger, and flowerpot on left arm. Description of MINNIE O'NEIL, Reg. No. O. 764, a person subject to police supervision for 7 years, and who has failed to report her change of residence : she ia 22 years of age, 5 feet high, brown hair, blue eyes, florid complexion, and cut mark on forehead ; was convicted at Leeds Sessions on the 21st October, 1872, and sentenced to 12 months imprison- ment and 7 years police supervision for uttering counterfeit coin, and was discharged from Leeds Gaol on the 20th Oct,, 1873. Decription of GEORGE TAYLOR, a gardener, a convict on license, No. W 116, who has failed to report himself in the month of August as required by the Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871 : he is a native of Tivetshall, Norfolk. 37 years of age, 5 feet 6f inches high, dark brown hair, hazel eyea, fresh complexion, * B, C.' right side, scar right eyebrow, right arm, left thumb, forefinger, and buttock, brown mark right thigh, and has lost all his front teeth. He was convicted Of larceny as a servant, Reigate Sessions, 5th April, 1870, and sentenced to 7 years penal servitude, and 7 years police supervision. He was liberated on license from Dartmoor Prison 2nd February last, and is now supposed to be working in some garden or nursery, in or near London.
