Description of ROBERT BAILEY, postmaster, who absconded from Dawley on the 11th instant, charged with forgery : about 45 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, . dark complexion, dark hair and whiskers, turning gray, bald on top of head ; dressed in dark tweed suit, eo't felt hat with broad brim, elastic side bots, smart appearance, walks fast. Was last seen in the train for Wolverhampton. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Ivins, Wellington, or to Sergeant Higgins. Stolen from dwelling- houses in the borough of Hull, by means ot housebreaking, between tho 2ud and 18th instant: three old- fashioned silver Tea Spoons, marked ' G E. S.'; an old- fashioned silver Tea Spoon, marked ' P. B'; a silver Thimble, with the stamp of the Exhibition of 1851 on it; a gold- mounted hair Brooch, marked ' R. and H.'; a gold Mourning Ring ; a gold Eye- glass ; and four old- fashioned silver Tea Spoons, marked ' I.' During the night of the 16th instant, a co'. tage at Reading was broken and entered, and stolen therein : an open- face silver Geneva Watch, No. 37956; a white calico Shirt; a Shilling ; 2 lbs. of raw Bacon ; 2| lbs. of Beef; and a pair of men's size lace- up Boots, tipped, nailed, and clumped. Kemble, of Swaffham : ab& ut 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, sandy hair and whiskers on the chin, shaved oa the sides of face, aud moustache ; dressed in a light coat and trousers, black mackintosh, and white soft felt hat. He generally assiciates with gipsies, and sometimes obtains employment as a drover at fairs and markets. Stolen on the 9th instant, from Bracebridge Low Fields: a dark bay clean legged cart Horse, 15 hands 2 inches high. 7 years old, white face, two white heels, hangs over a little at knees, walks wide behind, and in good condition. Supposed by a man, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches bigh, rather stout build, peculiar eyes, and speaks with a Norfolk accent; dressed in a pair of short leather leggings, dark clothes under a drab mackintosh, was carrying a whip when seen at Newark, at 11 p. m. on the 9Ji instant, and had with him a horse answering the above description ; he frequents fairs, markets, & c.; the horse was last heard of going through , Lady Bay Bridge toll- gate, at 11 a. m, on the 10th instant, 1 small round gold Albert Chain, open link, Seal with two miles on the Newark tide of Nottingham. Absconded on the 12th instant, from Bexley, stealing a £ 50 Bank of England Note: JOHN SUTCUFFE, alias " HAPPY JACK," 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair turning grey, whiskers shaved off, and tuft on chin dark brown ; dressed in a brown over- coat, dogskin collar, grey trousers and vest, and high black hat. He was accompanied by his wife, 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches higb, ruddy complexion, full face, and light- brown hair; dress black with white stripe, black velvet bonnet trimmed red and white feathers; and two tons, 16 and 18 years of age. HENRY McARTHUR, charged at Penrith with stealifig £ 88, the property of his employer, on the 11th instant: 24 or 25 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inchea high, stout figure, light brown hair and whiskers, rather thin, moustache recently shaved off, walks very erect, has been in the army, and is a farm servant; dressed in- a grey tweed Absconded from Wisbech on the 6th instant, charged with embezzlement: JOHN FOSTER MACKINLAY, a spirit merchant's clerk, and traveller, 26 years of age, looks younger, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, fair complexion, no whiskers, and slight moustache; dressed in dark coat and light trousers. He has been employed in Leicester from which place he had a referencej also one from Metheringham, Lincolnshire, where he is SJlposed to have some friends, his wife left on the 9th instant, her luggage being labled for Sheffield. Stolen on the 11th instant, from 2, Norman's- cottages, Hayworth- road, West Ham: a silver lever Watcb, No. 4819, a gold Albert with gold Seal attached, and a pair of pebble Links. By a man, 26 years of age, 5 feet 5 inchea high, fair complexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache light; dress, blue frock coat, black vest, tweed trousers, and felt hat. By a tramping mason, THOMAS SIMPSON, alias GINGER, who had been lodging in the house, 24 or 26 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, fair complexion, light hair and moustache ; dressed in blue eloth coat and vest, woollen cord trousers, black and white check shirt and scarf, strong lace boots, He inclines his and wreath inside of right arm, two rings on fingers of left hand, English flags, Faith, Hope, and Charity, and an anchor on left forearm, blue dot on back of left hand, wound on head and right thigh from a lance ; dressed in violet woollen plaid shirt, old black coat, white slop, cord vest, puce tweed trousers, green faded cap, and old boots. Was formerly in the 5th Fusiliers, and the 22nd Company, Royal Engineers JAMES ABBOTT, an Irishman, 44 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, pockpitted, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, and whiskers under chiu, lost left forefinger joint; dressed in old blue coat, plaid one underneath, dark grey tweed vest, cord trousers ^ patched), white shirt, black neckerchief, lace- up boots, all very old. Information to be given to Superintendent Morgan, Kent Constabulary, Craubrook, Kent.— Bo- w- street, September 22, ' Description of MARY DAVIS, remanded to Shepton Mallet Gaol until the 25th instant, charged with obtaining by menaces and threats several articles of wearing apparel ( recovered) : she gives her age as 19, but appears to bo about 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, light complexion, grey eyes, full face, slightly pockmarked, brown hair, mark of cut on upper lip ; dressed in dark stuff dress, with light trimmings, round the tail, old paisley shawl with red flowers, black straw hat, large white apron, stout boots, and is of gipsy appear- ance. She stops at common lodging houses, and carries a small fancy basket, hawking lace, and professes to tell fortunes. She was accompanied by a man she called her husband. He is about 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches higb, light complexion and moustache, no whiskers, slight build. He had a pedlar's certificate, and sold combs, buttons, & c. C.' right side, scar right eyebrow, right arm, left thumb, forefinger, and buttock, brown mark right thigh, and has lost all his front teeth. He was coavicted of larceny as a servant, Reigate Sessions, 5th April, 1870, and sentenced to 7 years penal servitude, and 7 years police supervision. He was liberated on license from Dartmoor Prison 2nd February last, and is now supposed to be working in some garden or nursery, in or near London.
