INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUS!/? WOUNDING. About 10' 30 on the night of the 2nd instant, Michael Rodden was struck down in Stockton- street, near the bottom of West- street, Middlesbrough, and from the injuries received died next day. Supposed by THOMAS McCANN or MUCKIAN, an Irishman, supposed to belong to the neigh- bourhood of Forkhill, County Armagh, Ireland, about 30 yrs. of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, dark complexion, dark hair cut shoit, and dark whiskers lound face cut short; he left Mid- dtesborough on the morning of the 4th instant, aud was then dressed in a blue cloth jacket and vest, moleskin trousers, and a soft jimcrow hat. He has been labouring about blast furnaces for some time. £ 25 reward will be paid by the Watch Committee of Middlesborough to any person or per- sons who will give such information as will lead to the con- viction of the offender. Stolen from the person of Sarah Lloyde, of Moulton Marsh, near Fosdyke- bridge, on the 7th inaUiit, at o p. m.: 2 Florins. By a man who went to the house aud asked for money, about 30 or 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark complexion, hair, aud whiskers, meeting under the chin, hair cut level behind ; dressed in dark cord trousers, dark slop, black soft billy hat, old shoes, laced up in front, one cut down the front. He looked like a labourer, and carried a small bundle tied up in a red handkerchief with small white spots. He went in the direction of the Lea Bank. Absconded, charged on a warrant with forgery : ISAAC COOK, about 58 or 60 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, stout build, fresh complexion, grey hair, cut short, grey whiskers, no moustache, large features, large full eyes, walks erect and turns his toes out. He has been travelling the county of Durham for some time soliciting orders for giease. He is a native of Suuderland, and generally dresses iu a tweed suit, and a white hat, which be wears on one side. Between 10 and 11 am. on the 11th instant, the house of Evan Owen, of Groespluan, near Welshpool, was broken and entered, and stolen therein: 3 Halfcrowns, 3 Florins, 5 Shillings, and a 6d. Piece. Supposed by a man, about 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, small light whiskers and moustache, hair cut short, walks erect; dressed in dirty cord or moleskin trousers, patched on thighs and knees, dark round jacket, watertight boots, and dark cap with red band, and knob on top. He has the appearance of a foundrvman, and is supposed to be making his way for Liverpool. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Ellis, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire.— Bow- street, Sptcmber 15. Between 7 and 8 p m. on the 13th instant, the dwelling- house of Henry White, Esq., situate at Wateringbury, Kent, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a leather Case, about 6 or 8 inches square, with the fetters ' C. W.' outside, containing Handkerchiefs, some of which are marked'C.', a large silver Brooch, in the form of a W, with crown on top, and a quantity of other Jewellery, consisting of Rings, Ear- rings, bracelets, Brooches, Necklaces, & e.; also a small leather case, containing Jewellery. £ 5 reward will be paid to any person who will give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders. Between 1 and 5 p. m. on the 11th instant, the cottage of John Valentine, at Higham, Kent, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a single- case silver verge Watch, maker Broad, Leadethall- street, Loudon; a silver Albert Chain, snake pattern ; a hair Albert Guard, with Key attached ; an old silver Spoon ; and a silver Brooch. Supposed by two tramps, one about 40 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, dark complexion and hair, short dark whiskers and beard; dressed in rusty monkey jacket, and billycock hat ; the other about 22 years of age, 5 feet 6 ioches high, light complexion, and small light whiskers. Stolen by means of housebreaking from the dwelling- house of George Brotherhood, at Marden, between 1 and 3 p. m., on the 6th instant: one 8- day American Clock, with a view of Venice on the face of the door ; a giri'a black straw Hat, trimmed with velvet, and a blue leather ; 3 Blankets, two with blue borders and one with black ; 5 unbleached Sheets, two sewn up the middle ; 2 Counterpanes, one white and one light blue. M. R.'; six silver plated T « a Spoons ; four silver- plated Dessert Spoons ; two si I vei- plated Table Spoons ; eight tour- grained silver- plated Forks ; and a woman's blaik velvet Jacket, four buttons f'uwa the froist, trimmed with black gimp and beads. Between 11 and 12 a. m. on the 7th instant, the cottage of Benjamin Scattergood, near the Beggar's Bush, Perry Barr, was broken aud euteicd, and stolen therein : a black cloth frock Coat, with pockets behind, anrl- one bteast pocket, much worn ; a lady's gold diess Riiig, with g>- een stone; an old gold Wedding Ring, lined with silver; and about 14*. ib Silver. Supposed by two tramps : one about 40 years ot age, about 6 feet 6 inches high, saudy whiskers, and appeared to be suffering fiom asthma ; dressed iii old dark clothes, and black cap. The other is from 30 to 40 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, round face, and small whiskers ; dressed in old dark clothes, and black cap. Description of THOMAS WYATT, of Sixpenny Hand- ley, Dorset, charged with stealing a ewe Sheep ( recovered) : he is 24 yearj of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fresh complexion, full face, blue eyes, brown hair, and dirty appearance. He generally associates with gipsies, and sometimes obtains employment as a drover at fairs and markets. Information to be given to the Deputy Chief Constable, Dorset Constabiw lary, Wimborne.— Bow- sireet, September 15. Stolen < n the 9th instant, from Bracebridge Low Fields: a dark bay clean legged cart Horse, 15 hands 2 inches high. 7 years old, white face, two white heels, hangs over a little at knees, walks wide behind, and in good condition. Supposed by a man, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, rather stout build, peculiar eyes, and speaks with a Norfolk accent; dressed in a pair of short leather leggings, dark clothes under a drab mackintosh, was caivying a whip when seen at Newark, at 11 p. m. on the 9th instant, and had with him a horse answering the above description ; he frequents fairs, markets, & c.; the horse was last heard of going through Lady Bay Bridge toll- gate, at 11 a. m. on the 10th instant, two ruiles on thj Newark side of Nottingham. Stolen on the 9th instant, frotn 18, Carlton- square, Peckham : a grey uiare Pony, aged, 13 hands high, little hair off both knees, short tail, in good condition ; a set of plated Harness ; aud an oak- coloured village Cart, with American leather Cushions. By a stableman, 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, thin uiake, fresh complexion, light bair and moustache, aud small eyes ; supposed dressed iu black coat and vest, dark mixture trousers, and hard felt hat. — Metro- politan Police, P Division, S ptember 13. Stolen during the night of the 8th instant, from a field at Wanstead Park, Essex : two Horses, for saddle or harness, one a dark dapple grey, 15 hands 2 inches high, 6 years old, short switch tail, docked, large lump on off shoulder, with a seton through it, one fore and one hind shoe off, and in good condition ; the other a light chestnut, 15 hands 2 inches high, 6 years old, face and hind legs white, hocks slightly fired, lump ou off knee, switch tail, no fore shoes, aud in good condition.— Metropolitan Police, N Division, September 13. Stolen from a field at Low Bracebridge, near Lincoln, on the night of the 9th instnnt. : a bay Cart Horse, 15 hands 2 inches high, white face, white hind fetlocks, thin tail, in good ondition, hangs over a little at knees, walks wide behind, and is about 7 yes r- t old. Stolen from a field at Dowley Gap, Bingley, during the night of the 23rd ultimo : a light chestnut Horse, 15| hands high, 5 years old, one white fore fetlock, and one or both hiud fetlock white, white star on forehead, and is in very good condition. .£ 10 reward will be paid ou recovery of the Horse and conviction of the offender or offenders. Description of a man charged with stealing an Ass from Bourn Fen on the 30th ultimo, and which has beea found sold at Kirton hear Sutterton : about f 0 years of age, 5 ft. 6 or 7 inches high, broad set, dark complexion, hair and whiskeis, which are rather grey aud meet uuder the chin ; dressed in old stuff billycock bat, short monkey jacket, much worn, light worsted cord trousers, and ! a; e- up boots. Stolen during the night of the 6th instant, from a field in the parish of Buxted, Sussex ; a dark brown gelding Donkey, about 6 years old, also a new leather headed Halter, with chain lead. By a tuau who had been top picking in too neighbourhood : about 23 years of age, 6 feet 5 or 6 inches high, fresh complexion, led hair, and no whiskers; dressed iu a dark coat aud trousers, and dark cloth cap. Absconded, charged with stealing a Horse and Cart ( since found sold) at Bolton, on the lst inst.: FREDERICK BRADSHAW, alias ALFRED PEAK BRADSHAW, a carter or labourer, about 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, pale complexion, short black hair, dark eyelashes, small dark moustache, no beard or whiskers, and slender made ; dressed in dark coat, dirty moleskin trousers, and soft black billycock hat. He baa been in Stockport, St. Helen's, and Middleton, near Manchester. Absconded on the 5th instant fram Upper Gormal Sedgley, charged with stealing a brown Mare ( since re- covered) ; the properey of Mr. Edmund Howl : JAMES WAINWRIGHT, about 42 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 6 inches high, dark brown hair, dark eyes, sandy whiskers and mous- tache, and ruddy complexion ; dressed in a black jacket, drab- co'oured trousers aad vest, and old brown straw hat. He has relatives residing at Aston, Birmingham, and Sam brook, near Newport, Salop. He carried a white water- proof overcoat over his arm or shoulder, and is a native of Peebleshire, Scotland. Description of THOMAS ALEXANDER SCOTT, who absconded from his employer, Mr. R. N. Pratt, of Northgate, Canterbury, on the 25ih July last, charged with embezzle- ment : 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark brown hair aud eyes, and has a peculiar twitch in one eye when speaking, slightly knock- kneed, and a little hair on the face. He is a baker and a native of Margate, Kent. Information to be given to Chief Constable Davies, City of Canterbury, Kent, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, September 15. Absconded from Torquay ou the lKh instant, charged • with stealing from a fellow lodger £ 33 in Gold and Sis. in Silver, three painters : WALTER PILE, a native of Ex- mouth, about 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, black moustache aud beard ( cut shore), and face much pockmarked ; dressed in a soft felt hat, mixed colour coat, light striped trousers, and elastic side boots ; WILLIAM PINE, a native of Exmouth, 23 to 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches higb, dark beard and moustache ; dressed in a black cloth jacket, striped trousers, black hard felt hat, and elastic- side boots ; and JOHN CREWS, a native of Plymouth, about 5 feet 4 inches high, sandy whiskers and moustache ; dressed in a black eloth coat, striped trousers, black hard felt hat, and elastic- side boots. Absconded from Wisbech on the 6th instant, charged with embezzlement: JOHN FOSTER MACKINLAY, a spirit merchant's clerk, and traveller, 26 years of age, looks younger, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, fair complexion, no whiskers, and slight moustache ; dressed in dark coat and light trousers. He has been employed in Leicester from which place he bad a reference, also one from Metheringham, Lincolnshire, where he is supposed to have some friends, his wife left on the 9th instant, her luggage being labled for Sheffield. Stolen on the llth instant, from 2, Norman's- cottages, Hay worth- road, West Ham : a silver lever Wateh, No. 4819, a gold Albert with gold Seal attached, and a pair of pebble Links. By a man, 28 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches higb, fair complexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache light; dress, blue frock coat, black vest, tweed trousers, aud felt hat. Metropolitan Police, K Division, September 15. Stolen from a dwelling- house in Richmond on the 6th instant: a Sovereign, the money of George Wetherell. By a tramping mason, THOMAS SIMPSON, alias GINGER, who had been lodging in the house, 24 or 26 years of aj; e, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, fair complexion, light hair and moustache ; dressed in blue cloth coat and vest, woollen cord trousers, black and white check shirt and scarf, strong lace boots, vandyked in the front, white soft felt hat. He inclines his head to the right, and is inkneed of the rignt leg. He is accompanied by his wife, about 24 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, dark complexion, black hair, stout figure; dressed in a black dress, trimmed with black velvet, and two narrow flounces, black body jacket, trimmed with black velvet and striped across the breast, grey shawl, two holes burnt in the centre, no hat or bonnet, wears her shawl over her head and pinned under the chin. Stolen on the 9th instant, from 89, Praed- street, Paddington : £\ 7 Is. 9d. in Coin; an. alpaca Dress ; a black leather Purse, containing 3s. ; a black alpaca Tablier; a paisley Shawl; and two print Dresses, one light and one dark. By a woman, 24 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion and hair, cut short in front; supposed dressed in the stolen clothes.— Metropolitan Police, D Division, September 13. Absconded from^ Oxford on the 6th instant ( charged with stealing from his master, between £ 8 and £ 9 in Money, and a pair of imitation laced side- spring Boots, lately clumped) : JOHN JONES, groom, a native of Oxford, 31 years of age, fresh complexion, clean shaved, dark brown hair cut short, grey eyes, and about 5 feet 8J inches high; dressed in a new dark check suit.
