INFORMATIONS. MURDER AHD MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. About 10' 30 on the nigl't of the 2nd instant, Michael Rodden was struck down in Stockton- street, near the bottom of West- street, Middlesbrough, and from the injuries received died next day. Supposed by THOMAS McCANN or MUCKIAN, an Irishman, supposed to belong to the neigh- bourhood of Forkhill, County Armagh, Ireland, about 30 yrs. of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, dark complexion, dark hair cut shoit, and dark whiskers round face cut short ; he left Mid- dlesborough on the n, orning or the 4th instant, atid was then dressed iu a blue cloth jacket and vest, moleskin trousers, and a soft jimciow hat. Stolen from tho person of Sarah Lloyde, of Moulton Marsb, near Fosdyke- bridge, on the 7th instant, at 5 p. m.: 2 Florins. By a man who went to the house and asked for money, about 30 or 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark complexion, hair, and whiskers, meeting under the chiu, bair cut level behind ; dressed in dark cord tro- tsers, dark slop, black soft billy hat, old shoes, laced up in front, one cut down the front. He looked like a labourer, and carried a small bundle tied up in a red handkerchief with small white ] spots. He went in the direction of the Lea Bank. Absconded from Old Hill, Rowley Regis, Staffordshire, charged with stealing £ 1 7s. from the person of Thomas Jones, at Old Hill, on the 23rd ultimo : a man, about 43 years °! of age, 5 feat 6 or 7 inches higb, light brown hair, sandy eons who will give such information as will lead to the con- viction of the offender. Absconded, charged on a warrant with forgery : ISAAC COOK, about 58 or 60r years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, stout build, fresh complexion, grey hair, cut short, grey whiskers, no moustache, large features, large full eyes, walks erect and turns his toes out. He has been traveliiug the county of Durham for some time soliciting orders for gieaae. He is a native of Sunderland, aud generally dresses in a tweed suit, and a white hat, which he wears on one side. HISCOCK, charged on a warrant with, uttering and forging on the llth ultimo, a Cheque for £ 18 10s., on tbe Shaftesbury Branch of the Wilts and Dorset Bank : he is about £. 9 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark brown hair, vtry thin on the top, small whiskeis aud moustache. He stated that he belonged to Somerset House, resided near Russell- square, Bloomsbury, and was sent out by the Govern- ment inspecting nuisances in difft vent districts. He has a relative living in ' Birmingham, and has been working in brick yards as a labourer, and driving a horse aud cart. Informa- Between 1 and 5 p. m. on the 11th instant, the cottage of John Valentine, at Higham, Kent, was broken and entered, aud stolen therein : a single- case silver verge Watch, maker Broad, Leadenhall- street, London; a silver Albert Chain, snake pattern ; a hair Albert Guard, with Key attached ; an old silver Spoon ; and a silver Brooch. Information to be giveu to Superiu- tendent Coppinger, Kent Constabulary, Chatham,— Bow- itreet, September 13, Stolen by means of housebreaking from the dwelling- house of George Brotherhood, at Marden, between 1 and 3 p. m., on the 6th instant: one 8- day American Clock, with a view of Venice on the face of the door ; a gill's black straw Hat, trimmed with velvet, and a blue leather ; 3 Blankets, two with blue borders and one with black; 5 unbleached Sheets, two sewn up the middle ; 2 Counterpanes, one white and one light blue. Supposed by three men, two in daik aud one in light clothes. Information to be given to Super, intendent Morgan, Kent Constabulary, Craubrook,— Bow- tired, September 11, During the night of the 7th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Robinson, Brinnington, near Stockport, was broken and entered and stolen therein : a silver Cup ( lined with gold), a child's silver Dessert Spoon, and a child's svlvtr Knife aud Fork, engraved thereon ' F. M. R.'; six silver plated Tta Spoons ; four silver- plated Dessert Spoons ; two silver- plated Table Spoons ; eight four- grained silver- plated Forks ; aud a woman's black velvet Jacket, four buttons down the front, trimmed with black gimp and beads. Information to be given to Superintendent Lawton, County Police Station, Stockpoit, Cheshire.— Bow- street, September 11. During the uightof the 8th instant the dwelling- house of Mrs. Mercer, Hertford- terrace, Coventry, was broken aud entered and stolen therein : a black marble Time- Piece, inlaid with green marble, about 12 inches high, 10 inches wide, 6 inches thick, flat top, white dial, steel hands, black figures, aud has a small piece of the black marble chipped from one of the front lower corners. Information to be given to Head Constable Norris, Coventry.— Bow- street, S pt. 11. Between 11 and 12 a, m. on tbe 7th instant, the cottage of Benjamin Scattergood, near the Beggar's Bush, Perry Bat r, was broken and entered, and stolen therein ; a bkek cloth frock Coat, with pockets behind, and'one breast pocket, much worn ; a lady's gold diess Ring, with green stone; an old gold Wedding " Ring, lined with silver; aud about 14s. in Silver. Supposed by two tramps : one about 40 years of age, about 6 feet 6 inches higb, sandy whiskers, and appeared to be suffering from asthma ; dressed in old dark clothes, and black cap. The other is from 30 to 40 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, lound face, and small whiskera ; dressed in eld dark clothes, and black cap. Stolen on the 9th instant, from 18, Carlton- square, Peckham : a grey mare Pony, aged, 13 hands high, lit'lo hair off boih knees, short tail, in good condition ; a set of plated Harness ; and an oak- coloured village Cart, with American leather Cushions. By a stableman, 30 years of age, 5 feet. 10 inches high, thin make, fresh complexion, light bair aud moustache, and small eyes ; supposed dressed iu black coat and ve£. t, daik mixture trousers, and hard felt hat. — Metro- politan Police, P Division, S ptember 13. Stolen during the night of the 8th instant, from a field at Wanstead Park, Essex : two Horses, for saddle or harness, one a dark dapple grey, 15 hands 2 iuches higb, 6 years old, short switch tail, docked, large lump on off shoulder, with a seton through it, one fore and one hind shoe off, aud in good condition ; the other a light chestnut, hands 2 inches higb, 6 years old, face and hind legs white, slightly fired, lump on off knee, switch tail, no fore stt& es, and in good condition.— Metropolitan Police, N DivisioiySeptember ly. Stolen during the night of the 6th instant, from a field in the palish of Buxted, Sussex : a dark brown gelding Donkey, about 0 years old, also a new leather headed Halter, with chain lead. By a man who had been hop picking iu tuo neighbourhood : about 23 years of age, D feet o or 0 inches higb, fresh complexion, red hair, and no whiskets ; dresBed iu a dark coat and trousers, and dark cloth cap. Cart ( since found sold) at Bolton, ou the lst inst.: FREDERICK BRADSHAW, alias ALFRED PEAK BRADSHAW, a carter or labourer, about 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 iuches high, pale complexion, short black hair, dark eyelashes, small dark moustache, no beard or whiskers, and slender made ; dressed in dark coat, dirty moleskin trousers, and soft black billycock hat. He has been in Stockport, St. Helen's, and Middieton, near Manchester. Absconded on the 5th instant fnm Upper Gormal Sadgley, charged with stealing a blown Mare ( since re- covered) ; the pioperey of Mr. Edmund Howl : JAMES WAINWRIGHT, about ii years of a| e, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, dark blown hair, dark eyes, sandy whiskers and mous- tache, and ruddy complexion ; diesstd in a black jacket, drab- coloured trousers aud vest, and old blown straw hat. He 1 aa relatives residing at Aston, Birmingham, and Sam- brook, near Newport, Salop. Information to be given to Inspector Tomlinson, Sedgley, Staffordshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bote- stmt, September 11. A man of the following description obtained a Horse Cart, and Harness, from the Royal Oak Inn, Chelmsford, on the 5th instant, for the purpose of going to Witham, and has not returned : about 25 or 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark whiskers; dressed in black coat, light trousers, light- colour cloth top boots. Had the appearance of a shop- man. Bay horse, aged, 15 hands high, black mane and tail, scar on near shoulder, lame off fore fetlock, white mark over both eyes. Brown dog cart, picked out with red,' Emberson' or 1 Tavner' on cap of wheels, red linings on back of seat, red cushions, white goat- skin mat, silver- plated harness, forehead piece of halter yellow, ' J. By a woman, 24 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion and hair, cut short in front; supposed dressed in the stolen clothes.— Metropolitan Police, D Division, September 13. Absconded from Oxford on the 6th instant ( charged with stealing from his master, between £ 8 and £ 9 iu Money, and a pair of imitation laced side- spring Boots, lately clumped) : JOHN JONES, groom, a native of Oxford, 31 years of age, fresh complexion, clean shaved, dark brown hair cut short, grey eyes, and about 5 feet inches high; dressed in a new dark check suit. Information to be given to Superintendent Head, Police Office, Oxford, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, September 13. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Ack worth, near Ponte- fract, on the 4th instant: £ 3 15s. iu Gold and Silver Monies. By two brothers, named JOHN and HENRY GRIM- SHAW, navvies : one is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark complexion, eyes, and hair, no whiskers, slight moustache, and stout build ; dressed iu a blue pilot jacket, fustian trousers mended at left knee, dark vest, lace- up cap; the other is about 20 years of age, 6 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, blue eyes, light hair, no whiskers, aud proportionate build; dressed in a brown coat, futtian trousers and vest, lace- up boots, and cap. Information to be given to Inspector Boshier, West Riding Constabulary, Pontefract, Yorkshire, who holds a warrant for their appre- hension.— Bow- street, September 13. Absconded, ELIZABETH CUNLIFFE, alias WAR- WICK, alias; SETTLE, charged with stealing Wearing Apparel, in Bolton, on the 9th instant, a portion of which has since been found pledged : she is about 39 years of age, 6 feet J inch high, fresh complexion, good looking, brown hair, scar on right cheek and forehead ; she is addicted to drink, was convicted at Salford Sessions, oa the 24th Novem- ber, 1874, and sentenced to 6 months imprisonment, and two years police supervision ; she has resided iu Radcliffe, near Bury, and iu Liverpool. Information to be given to Chief Constable Beech, Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow street, Sept, 13. Absconded from Lymm, on the 31st ultimo, charged • with stealing joiner's Tools, recovered: THOS. BRICKELL, 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark hair and com- plexion, blue eyes, mark from an abscess on right jaw, and large ears; dressed in dirty dark tweed coat and vest, fustiau trousers, and billycock hat; he is a fustian cutter, but may seek employment as a labourer. Information to be given to Superintendent Aston, Altrincham, or to Sergeant Holling- worth, Cheshire Constabulary, Lymm, who holds a wairant for his apprehension.— Bow- street September 13. Description of a man who, in Juue, 1874, was carrying oa business as a draper at Southborougb, Tunbridge Wells, and absconded, charged with stealing two iron Bedsteads; he then gave the name of GEORGE M , or CHARLES SMITH, and is now supposed to be in business as a draper under an assumed name : he is about 40 years of age, 5 ieet 5 or 6 inches high, fair, slightly pojkpitted, and walks quickly. He will probably have applied for a pedlar's cer- tificate. Information to be given to the Head Constable, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, who holds a wairant for his appre- hension.— Bow- street, September 13. ELIZA DEACON ( described ia the Police Gazette of the 7th April, 1873, charged with larceny at Tunbridge Wells) has not yet been apprehended : she is about £ 0 years of age, gipsy- looking, and pretends to tell fortunes. Information to be given at the Police Office, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, where a warrant for her arrett is lying.— Bow- street, September 13. Description of GEORGE MUSK, of Ely, a laboured who absconded on the 10th instant, charged with embezzleiog certain monies from Mr. W. L. Evans, of Ely, farmer, his master: about 50 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, hair turning grey, fresh face, clean shaved except under the throat; dressed in cloth cap, or white linen billycock hat, sleeved corduroy vest or - white slop, brown cloth trousers and a pair of militia trousers over them, lace- up boots. He is a native of Exning, Suffolk, and is likely to go into the North. Information to be given to Superintendent Smith, Ely, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, September 13. Absconded on the 31st ultimo, from the Kings Arms Hotel, High- street, Kensington, stealing a registered post Letter, containing a lady's gold Geneva Watch, - with gold fetter- link albert Chain attached : a man, 34 years of age, 6 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes ; dress, dark tweed trousers aud vest, brown cutaway coat, hard felt hat.— Metropolitan Police, T Division, September 11. Stolen from Teigh on the lst instant: a silver case engine- turned horizontal Hunting Watch, had attached a steel guard Chain, a Fourpenny Piece, two silver Twopenny Pieces, one Three- halfpenny Piece, two watch Keys, with ' Norton, Stamford,' engraved thereon. By a tramp about 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 ins. high, stout, fresh complexion, light hair, and sandy moustache ; dressed in old dark coat, vest and trousers, black felt hat, and old elastic side- spring boots. Information to be given to Chief Constable Keep, Rutland Constabulary, Oakham— Bow- street, September 11. Absconded from the Working Boj s' Home, Hereford, charged ou a warrant with stealing Fourteen Peuce: SAMUEL MADDOX, 14 years of age, 5 feet 1 inch high, dark eyes, and light haii*; dressed iu cord vest and trousers, • white slop, boots, and black cap. Information to be given to Superintendent Davies, City Police, Hereford.— Bow- street, September 11. Charged on a warrant with larceny from a mail cart, at Hurstgreen, on the morning of the 5th instant, taking a small gold Geneva Watch, engraved metal face, Roman figures, has the gilt near the VII slightly scratched off, seconds hands : HENRY HOLLANDS, the driver, who has absconded, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark complexion, lound features, good looking, two upper teeth gone in front, very dark whiskers aud moustache, chin clean shaved, medium figure, speaks quickly ; dressed in a dark tweed jacket, light trousers, and light biilycock hat. All reasonable expenses of apprehension will be paid. Infor- matioa to be giveu to Superintendent Jenner, Battle, or at the Chief Constables, Office, Lewes, Sussex.— Bow street, September 11. Absconded, charged with stealing from her employers, at Irby, on the 2nd instant: £ 4 7s. 6d. in Gold and Silver Monies ; a blue waterproof Cloak ; a dress Bodice and top Skirt, brown plaid; a violet Skirt, with deep black fringe ; and a grey wincey under Skirt, braided with scarlet : HARRIET GEORGE, about 17 years of age, short and stout, dark complexion, dark hair, cut short, wears a hair net, dark eyes, rather broad features, cut mark oil one arm extending from wrist to elbow ; dressed in the stolen articles, grey ribbed stockings, and elastic- side boots ; she is a native of Dudley Port, Tipton, Staffordshire ; she has been imprisoned in Stafford Gaol, and afterwards in the Liverpool Reformatory School.
