Between 8 p. m. on the 22nd, and 7 a. m. on the 24th instant, the office at the Cannock Chase Foundry, Hednesford, was broken into, and £ 12 3s. 6d. in Gold and Silver ; a small pink cash Bag, beariDg the words ' District Bank, Cannock,' containing 4s. in new Bronze Coins ; the propeity of Frederick Bradley and Co., were stolen therein. Information to be given to Superintendent Hill, Police Station, Brownhills, near Walsall, or to Police Constable Cockerell, Police Station, Hednesford, Staffordshire.— Bow- :, July 26. INFORMATIONS FORGERY. Stolen near Brownhills on the 23rd instant,, the property of Thomas Woodhouse, farmer : a brown cart Mare, aged, 16 hands high, lame on off fore foot, which has a round shoe on, long mane and tail, and in good condition. BRAMWELL, 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark brown hair, whiskers, and moustache, inclined to be sandy, has lost the right leg and wears a wooden one ; dressed in dark tweed jacket, corduroy trousers, black billycock hat, and new boot on left foot ; he is a native of Whittington, near Lichfield. Information to be given to Superintendent Hill, Brownhills, near Walsall, who holds a warrant for his appre- hension, or to Superintendent Bowen, Burton- on- Trent, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, July 31. Stolen from a farm in the parish of Worlington, Suffolk; j the property of Mr. C. Wing : 16 Ewe Sheep, branded on I middle of near side ' C. W.' in red paint. Information to be top of head, long features, medium build, shaves all round, and has a rough voice; dressed in white straw hat, with black ribbon, black second- hand jacket and vest, new daik plaid trousers, and strong lace- up boots. Mr. Moss will give £ 5 reward ou conviction of the offender or offenders, and recovery of the horse. Information to be given to Inspector Hackney, Guild Hall, Staffordshire.— Bou>- street, July 26. Stolen from a field at Ackland, near Middlesborough, during the night of the 20th instant ; the property ot Mr. Stephen Neesam, farmer : a black horse Pony, 3 years old, 14 hands high, white star on forehead, near hind fetlock a little white, tail cut square, and in good condition. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Simpson, North Biding Constabulary, South Stockton, or to Inspector Robson, Police Station, North Ormesby, Middlesborough. — Bow- sir eel, July 26. Stolen from Reach Farm, Bishop's Nympton, Devon, during the night of the 19th instant: 6 Sheep, shorn and not marked, except an horned ewe which has '. T. H.' on the horn ; also 5 Lamb?, not shorn, and marked ' J. H.' on each side. They were very fat aud are supposed to have been slaughtered and sent with the skins to the London Market. Charged with forgery, at Chester, by altering a post- given at the Police Station, Mildenhall, Suffolk.— Bow- street, office order from Is. 6d. to £ 4 Is. 6d., with intent to defraud: EDWARD ROBETTS, 30 years of age, 5 feet 9£ inches high, sandy hair, fair complexion, last known residence, Liverpool, formerly a clerk, and lately employed by the Pacific Steam Company, Birkenhead ; he is a native of and his wife and family reside at Mold, Flintshire ; dressed in a j a „ h Oswestry or to suit of grey tweed, and soft tweed wide- awake hat; has lost - nil.... one or two upper front teeth. Stolen from Colling Bourne, Kingston, Wilts, on the night of the 26th instant, the property of Mr. Thomas Cole of . Between the hours of 12 midnight on the 22nd and 5 a. m. on the 23rd instant, the house of Mr. John Dover, iha Railway Tavern, Princes Risborough, was broken into, and £ 38 in Gold, Silver and Copper Moneys ; 1 Box of Cigars ;| 47 years'of age, 5 feet 6 or Absconded: ALFRED RUNNACLES, a journeyman butcher, charged ou a wan- ant with stealing a Lamb, the property of John Tebbit, of Little Shelford, on the 14th instant ; he is about 19 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 ins. high, stoutly built, rather round shoulders, fresh com- plexion, clean face, dark eyes, and brown hair ; dressed in plaid coat, light waistcoat and trousers, with butcher's slop over them, white straw hat, with blue ribbon, and lace- up boots; he is supposed to be a native of Colchester, and has worked at the Metropolitan Meat Market, near which he has some relatives living. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Stretten, Chesterton- road, Cambridge.— Bow- street, July 28. Stolen during the night of the 22nd instant, from a field at Days- lane, Black Fenn, Bexley : a black Russian Pony, 5 years old, 12 hands high, long tail, very small forelock, and in good condition. By three men ( with a dark brown horse and dirty cart), dressed in dark clothes aud high hats.— — Metropoitan Police, R Division, July 28. Stolen on the 20th instant, from Prince's Livery Stables, Paddington : a bay Gelding, thick set, 15 hands 3 inches higb, aged, rough legs, one white heel, bang tail, and in good con- dition ; also a set of plated Harness, with trunion front to bridle. By a man, 40 yeara of age, 5 feet 7, inches high, and small light whiskers ; dressed in a black stable suit and high hat; he is a jobbing coachman.— Metropolitan Police, X Di- vision, July 28. Absconded from Nottingham, on the 24th instant, charged with embezzlement: ADOLPHUS STEVONS, late clerk in the Nottingham Borough Police Force, 34 years of agp, 5 feet 11 inches high, sallow complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, small whiskers aud moustach , chin shaved, rather long neck, walks very erect, proportionate make, slight impedi- ment, in his speech when excited, and blinks his eyes when talking. He is a native of Hamburg, speaks with a German accent, and walks quickly ; dressed in dark frock coat and light trousers, and generally wears a high hat. Information to be given to Chief Constable Poyntz, Nottingham, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 28. Mather, Cockroft and Mather, solicitors, Newcastle- upon- Tyne, - who is charged on a warrant with stealing £ 60, the monies of his taid employers, on the 21st instant : ARTHUR SEPPINGS, about 45 years of age, about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, dark brown hair, dark whiskers and moustache, face pock pitted, supposed to be a native of London; dressed in blue shooting coat, dark tweed vest, brown cloth trousers, high silk hat,, and lace- up boots; be is believed to be known at York and Middlesborough. Absconded from Middlesbrough, charged with stealing a silver Watch ( recovered) : ARTHUR KING, alias SMITH, alias WILSON, 23 years of age. 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair and whiskers, just beginning to grow, small moustache, and slender figure ; he is a native of Stockton- on- Tees, and a labourer ; dressed in a - white jacket, light cloth trousers, black biliyc ck hat, and red and black tie. Absconded from Middlesborough, charged with, stealing £ 10: a German, shoemaker, but has lately worked - with pork butchers as a sausage maker, 22 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, fresh complexion, dark hair, cut short, and slender figure ; dressed in a short brown jacket, bound with green braid, body hat, or a black alpaca cap, high in the crown ; he had with him a black leather bag. Absconded from QIKen- street, Railway Station, Exeter, on the 12th July, 187( 5, charged with embezzling £ 55 ; the property of the London and South Western Railway Com- pany : FRANCIS REEKS, chief booking clerk, about 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, light hair, whiskers and moustache, and shaved under the chin ; dressed in light clothes and straw hat. He is a native of Lymington, Hants, and was formerly a booking clerk at Dorchester and Andover. ' ' Charged - with embezzlement : SAMUEL LINLEY, a , brewer's traveller, a native of Sheffield, 35 years of age, 5 ft. 8 or 9 inches high, fresh complexion, blue eyes, sandy hair, cut short, sandy moustache, slight sandy whiskers, finger nails cut very short; has served in the 12th Lancers ; he is accompanied by a young woman, about 21 yeara ot age, medium build, fresh complexion, and dressed in black. Information to be given at the Central Police Office, Sheffield. — Bow- street, July 26. Partner description of the tramping painter, charged with stealing a gold Watch from Ingress Abbey, Greenhithe, advertised in Police Gazette of the 19th instant. The Watch has been found pawned at Gravesend, and the ticket was found in the King William public house, Dover, on the 19th instant, where another larceny has been committed by the same man; be is from 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, very little whiskeis and is deaf ; dressed in painter's light suit, and light felt hat; a tattooed tomb- stone on one arm, and ship and flags on the other. Charged on a warrant with embezzlement, at Ports- mouth, on the 3rd aud 4th instant : WILLIAM HENRY HARNETT, 36 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, slender thin sharp features, small crooked nose, sallow complexion, slightly round shouldered, small whiskers, and dark hair, he speaks sharply, is very nervous, and holds his chin up ; dressed in dark grey suit, and deerstalker hat. Information to given to Superintendent Hoskison, Waterloo Railway Station, London.— Bow- street, July 26. Stolen about 8.30 a. m. on the 24th instant, from ' a dwelling- house iu Stockport: a Paisley Shawl ( new) ; a tartan Scotch plaid Shawl ( new); two pairs of women's elastic side Boots ( rivettedj ; a woman's Neckerchief, orange, red, brown and black; four calico Chemises ( new); three grey holland Aprons ( new) ; a woman's flannel Petticoat ( new) ; a puce Dress with black lustre flounce ; a light printed Skirt ( nearly new) ; a striped green woollen Skiit ( puce, red and orange); & blue and black Bonnet ; a large Basket; and 5s. 6d, in Money. By a young woman who had been lodging in the house a week, about 5 feet 1 inch high, dark complexion, thick lips, dark brown hair, and stout build. She was seen wearing the Bonnet, and Paisley Shawl. Description of JAMES RICKETTS, charged on a warrant with bigamy at Harrogate : 23 or 24 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 incties high, dark c implexion and hair, which stands erect on the fort- head, bUck moustache, no whiskers, is a stonemason, aud will probably be found at some public works; was born at Bristol or the neighbourhood. Description of DAVID EVANS. a draper, but probably now hawking books, charged with obtaining a Bible by false pretence at Oswestry, on the 22Qd ultimo : about 40 years of a age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, fresh complexion, full face, dark t hair, no whiskers or moustache, aud generally wears spectacles: a dressed in dark jacket, vest and trousers, and harri low bat. a He booked a few days ago by the London and North Western a Railway for Manchester.
