Information to be given to Superintendent Evans, Crickhowell, or to Acting Police Sergeant Talgarth, Breconshire.— Bow- ttreet, July 21. Stolen by means of house- breaking on the 19ih instant: a blue cloth pilot Jacket, and a rough black cloth Waistcoat. Supposed by a tramp, about 30 years of age, and of middle size. Information to be given to Superintendent Gough, Oswestry, Salop.— Bow- st., June 21. Between 2 and 6 p. m. on the 12th instant, the cottage of James Godsell, of Bredenbury, near Bromyard, was forcibly entered, and stolen therein : a lady silver Geneva Watch, No. 11436, maker Nicol, Geneve ; a dark cloth Biding Coat, interspersed with blue spots ; a pair of new cotton cord Trousers, chocolate colour ; and from 3 lbs to 5 lbs of Bacon. Supposed by two tramps : one is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, sandy whiskers and moustachc, and wore a cap, light jacket or slop, and cord trousers ; the other is about 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, bare face, and dressed in a billycock hat and dark jacket. Information to be given to Superintendent Ovens, Police Station, Brom- yard, Herefordshire.— Bow- street, July 19. Between 2 and 7 a. m. on the 14th instant, a dwelling- house in Hull was broken into and entered and stolen therein: a large- sized silver Tankard, ' T.' on one side and crest ( a mailed arm holding a broken spear), on the other may have the motto ' Tuebor'; a large- sized silver Taukard, engraved, ' From Alice Foster to John Hy. Thompson, 1818' .: an old- fashioned PeppBr Cruet with coat of arms; a pair of gold ' Spectacles; and the silver Tops of a Mustard and Pepper Box. £ 5 reward will be paid to any person who shall give such information as will lead to the recovery of the property, or in proportion to the amount recovered, and apprehension of the offender or offenders, by Chief Constable Cook, Hull, Yorkshire.— Brno- street, July 17. Description of two men, tramps, suspected of having PHILIP JONES, a charcoal burner, 33 years of age, 5 feet between 10 p. m., 13tb, and 7a. m., 14th instant, broken and 6 or 7 inches high, stout make, dark hair, dark stubby entered the shop of John Scott, grocer. Dunsop- bridge, near whiskers and moustache, about a mouth's growth, and dark Whitewell, and stolen therein : £ 2 10a. in Cash, £ i 10s. in complexion; dressed in dark jacket, white slop, clean cord Postage Stamps, 3 lbs. of twist Tobacco, 2 pairs of men's trousers, and cap ; has a brown lurcher dog, and a turnip hoe Stockings, 5 lbs. of Cheese, aud 5 lbs of Bread. One 24 or 25 with him. : years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high ; drissed in moleskin THOMAS JONES, his brother, a charcoal burner, 25 yrs. ! trousers, blue vest, brown coat. The other 24 or 25 years of of age, about 5 feet 9 iucbes high, slight make, long sallow age> 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high; dressed in dark- coloured face, small sandy moustache, no whiskers ; dressed in loose trousers, tweed coat, sharp poiuted fancy clogs. About 12 30 a. m. on the 15th instant, a man, about 30 years of age, 5 fett 7 inches high, proportionately made, dressed in black clothes, and cap, shot at William Porter, a police constable, with intent to maim, or to do him some bodily harm. A warrant bas been issued for the apprehen- sion of this man ; an attempt bad been made to enter a house close to where tbe occurrence took place. Supposed stolen from a field at Forebridge, Stafford, between 7 a m., 16th, and 7 a. m , 17th instant : a light chesnut cob Mare, 3 years old, about 13 hands high, long light- colour switch tail, hair rubbed off top, long light mane, small white star on forehead, iu good condition, newly shod all round ; the property of Mr. William Moss, Contractor, Stafford. Infor- mation to be given to Inspector Hackney, Guildhall, Stafford- shire.— Bow- tt., July 19. Stolen from a field at Shipton, during the night of the 12th instant : a black half- bred Cart Mare, 6 years old, 14^ hands high, brown muzzle and flauk, star on forehead, has been docked but tbe hair has grown long, in good condi- tion, and has recently been shod ; the property of Mr. John Handy. Supposed by a man 60 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, and whiskers turning grey; dressed in a Scotch cap, dark velveteen coat with large pearl buttons, light waistcoat with two rows of pearl buttons, light breeches, browp leggings fitting tight, and thick boots with toe caps ; be is a blacksmith. £ 5 reward will be paid by Mr. John Handy for information that will lead to the recovery of the mare and conviction of the offender or offenders. ( recovered) from a field at Hinckley, on tbe 15th instant: he is middle aged, about 5 feet 8 inches high, slender build, long face, large nose, and very little ( if any) whiskers; dressed in dark blue monkey jacket, torn behind one sleeve, dirty cord or drab cloth trousers, fitting tight to the legs, blucber boots, and soft black billycock hat. Stolen on the 20th instant from the Convalescent Home, Rottingdean, Sussex : a boy's very dark grey colour Jacket, marked with ink ' McCarthy ' in each sleeve ; a dark blue vest, yellow liniug marked ' McCarthy;' a dark cloth cheese- cutter 0 p. By a lad, 13 years of age, stout, has a sore eye, 4 feet 11 inches bigb. He is supposed to be making his way to Woolwich, where he belongs, he is likely to be found in vagrant wards. Information to be given to Superintendent Baldwin, Preston, near Brighton, East Sussex.— Bow street, July 21. ROBERT EASBY, charged with stealing one silver lever Watch, No. 27421, maker Raper, Tliirsk ; one gold Geueva chronometer Watch, flowered back; and one small gold Geneva, No. 61915, and ' 37' scratched in inner case. He is 48 or 50 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet high, fresh complexion, supposed browu hair and dark moustache ; dressed iu dirty old clothes and black billycock hat. When he left Middlesbrough in May last he had with him an old black satchel, in which he carried his working tools. Information to be given to Chief Constable Saggerson, Middlesbrough, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Raw- etrtet, July 21. Further description of JAMES GRIFFITHS, alias EVAN, a jockey, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 10th instant, charged uuder a warrant with stealing Ducks : fair fresh complexion, very light brown hair, light grey eyes, oval face, good looking, scar uuder chin, mole near each elbow, ditto on left shoulder, and on breast; dressed in light grey tweed suit, wears sometimes a white scarf and pin, smart about the neck. He is very fond of talking about horses, aud his father is a jockey residing at Kington, Herefordshire. Information to be given to Superintendent Dykes, Leominster, Herefordshire.— Bow- street, July 21. Stolen from Ingress Abbey, Greenhithe, on the 17th instant: a large gold Geneva Watch, maker Bennett, Salis- bury ; glass cracked, and a dark mark near the figures 7 and 8, with a black jet Neck- chain attached. By a tramping painter, from 40 to 60 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark complexion, bair aud moustache turning grey, and whiskers shaved off; dressed in blue jacket, light vest and trousers, aud black felt bat. Description of MARY ANN OWEN, a servant and native of Wellington, Salop, who absconded on the 12th instant, charged with stealing £ Z and a gold Ring, the pro- perty of her master : about 20 years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, and stoutly built; dressed in white straw hat, brim turned up nearly all round and trimmed with black velvet, new snuff- colour tight fitting jacket, and brown skirt uuder, much worn, and elastic- side boots. Absconded on the 10th instant, from 144, Curtain- road, Shoreditch, stealing £ 52 10s. : two men— one is 27 years of age, 5 feet ft incites high, pale complexion, hair ( parted iu the centre), whiskers, and moustache dark ; dressed iu black coat, dark trousers and vest, and high hat; the other is 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 Lushes high, fresh complexion, and light brown hair and moustache ; dressed iu brown mixture suit and high hat.— Metropolitan Police, G Division, July 17. Absconded on the 11th instant, from South- place, St. Luke, embezzling £ 60 : a man, 27 years of age, 5 feet & inches high, pale complexion, and light brown hair and moustache ; dressed in a light mixture overcoat, light trousers, and high black hat.— Metropolitan Police, G Division, July 17. Stolen between 2 and 3 p m. on the 13th instant, from a dwelling- house at Tunbridge Wells : two large silver Foiks, two small ditto, two Dessert Spoons, and a Butter Knife, crest— a tree with a saw through it. A young man, with Roman nose, dark hair aud eyes, dressed in dark coat, with trousers of a different colour, was disturbed while committing the above offence, aud jumped through the window and escaped. Information to be given to the Chief of Police, Tonbridge Wells, Kent.— Bow- street, July 17. Absconded from Lewes : ALICE JUDD, about 20years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches higb, ruddy complexion, good looking, light hair, medium figure. Charged with stealiug on the 2nd instant from No. 9, Albion- street, the property of her master Henry Curtis Card, a grey home- spun Dress, trimmed with brown braid, 3 Petticoats, 3 Chemises, 3 pairs of Drawers, marked ' J. B. E.'; a pair of cashmere button Boots, a sealskin Handbag, and nineteen Shillings. Previous to September, 1875, she lived at the Lock Hospital, Harrow- road, next at Chapel- street, Edgware- road, for two weeks, and was then admitted into Milton House, Maude- grove, Brompton. Her parents live at Boothing Margaret Dunmore district, Essex. Information to be given at the Chief Constable's Office, Lewes, or any police station in East Sussex. — Bow- street, July 17. Absconded about the middle of June last from Notting- ham, charged with embezzling several sums of money: JOHN HENRY BENDER, about 45 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, reddish brown hair, whiskers, and moustache ; be is a German, aud has been clerk and manager in a timber yard. Information to be given to Chief Constable Poyntz, Nottingham, who holds a warrant for his apprehen- sion.— Bow- street, July 17. Stolen on the 13th instant, from a railway hut, at Kelmarsh : a blue pilot Jacket, two pockets outside with flaps, with black aud red woollen plaid lining, one inside breast pocket, and black velvet collar; a pair of army blucher Boots, with three lace holes each side ; a pair of lace- up Clogs, narrow toes, and small heels, brass lace holes ; a pair of old moleskin Trousers, much worn, and mended at knees ; a pair of magenta worsted Stockings, nearly new ; and a ligIst- coloured cotton Shirt, with yellow stripes, and purple buttons. By a navvy, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, whiskers shaved off, and has a large scar at the outer corner of one eye ; dressed in the stolen jacket, or white slop or jacket, moleskin trousers, with two small black stripes down the legs, and the stolen clogs or boots, as his old ones were left behind; he worked as a stone cutter at the Kings Lynn Police Station some time ago, and he is supposed to be making his way to Kings' Lynn, he has also worked at the Burton- on- trent Malt- houses, as a labourer, and occasionally at New Railway works or tunnels. Information to be given to Inspector Tye, Police Station, Little Bowden, Market Har- borough, Northamptonshire.— Bow- street, July 17. Absconded cn the 9th inBtant, from Leytonstone- road, embezzling £ 18 : a man, 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches higb, stout build, dark complexion, hair, and eyes, slight whiskers, and of lespectable appearance ; dressed in light grey suit, and high black hat. A butcher, has friends in Gloucester- shire, and is likely to endeavour to go to America — Metropolitan Police, N Division, July 17. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Stoke Hammond on the 14th instant: 2 Buits of black Cloths, a pocket on each side of coats and flap fronts to trousers, nearly new ; a dark blue ribbed double- breasted Vest, a pair of dark Trousers, light stripes up the sides, a pair of side- spring Boots, with tips on heels and sham buttons up the front, nearly new; a white linen Shirt with 3 mourning studs in the front; 4 linen Collars, size 14 or 14J ; an old- fashioned silver Watch, silver Guard attached, swivel broken and fastened with a split ring, and a large white table Cloth, the property of Robert Bryant, of Stoke Hammond, labourer. By a man, a tramp, 23 or 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, full face, large head, no whiskers; dressed in a white slop or jacket, dark trousers, black soft billycock hat. He left his coat in the house where the offence was committed. He has been traced to Luton, Beds, where he pledged the two suits of clothes for 30s. Charged on a warrant with embezzlement: WILLIAM COOK, 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair hair aud complexion, long face, large mouth, and scar over one eye ; dressed in dark clothes and deerstalker hat; he is a butcher's carman, lately resided in Charlotte- street, Blackfriars, but is now supposed to be living at Winchfield, Hants. Informa- tion to be given to the Inspector Jacob, Bridewell- place, Lon- don, E. C.— Bow- street, July 17.
