In- formation to be given to Chief Constable Danily, Newtown, or to Sergeant Sibbald, Llanidloes, Montgomeryshire. - Bmu- street, June 14. Between 11 p. m. on the 9th and 1.30 a. m. on the 10th instant, the grocer's shop and post- office of Mrs. Esther Briscoe, Ince, Cheshire, was broken and entered and stolen therein : 4 or 5 Sixpenny Pieces, 1 Threepenny Piece, some Copper Monies, and 15 Penny; Postage Stamps. Two men and a boy were seen loitering about in the forenoon, and the boy was in the shop begging; ha is from 12 to 14 years of age, and very sharp and intelligent looking ; dressed in. a short dark mixture jacket, coidurov trousers, very wide. One man is 37 or 38 years of age, and 5 feet 8 or 9 iuches high ; dressed in dirty light clothes. The other is an elderly man.; dressed in a long black or dark cloth coat. Information to be given to Superintendent Mayho, Tarporley, Cheshire.— Bow- street, 12. INFORMATIONS to hawk fancy goods. Information to be given to Chief Constable Segrave, Wolverhampton, Stafford, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, June 19. Absconded from Rosedale early on the morning of the 11th instant, charged withstealing a Gothic Timepiece, rose- wood case, 15 ins. by 8 ins. ; a Counterpane, red, white, and blue ( mixed) ; and a pair of blanket Sheets, small size, nearly new : a tramping Shoemaker, 48 to 50 yeara of age, about 0 feet 7 inches high, pale complexion, brown hair turning grey, whiskers shaved off, and proportionate build; dressed in a grey cloth coat and vest, black binding, cord trousers, soft black felt hat, and shooting boots; he is supposed to have worked at Starthes, Stockton, Middlesbrough and district. He had a woman with him, whom he called his wife, who absconded with him, and are supposed to be travelling together: she is about 35 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, very much sunburnt, brown hair, and steps [ very short; dressed in a lilac or brown winsey dress, paisley shawl, and strong lace- up boots. MURDES- AID MALICIOUSLY WOUIBIIG, The dead body of a female infant, was found in a field at Thornbury, near Bradford, on the 8th instant: it was wrapped in an old dirty cotton chemise, mended in several placea, and very much atained ; the mother is supposed to be a tramp. At the coroners inquest, a verdict of ' Wilful Murder against some person or persona unknown' was returned. Stolen from a field at Ivinghoe, during the night of the moustache a little lighter, shaves on chiu. In April last he was employed as boots or porter at the Great Northern Railway Hotel, Leeds, and in May last in the same capacity at the Swan Hotel, Bolton, Lancashire. Information to be given to Chief Constable Poyntz, Borough Police 10th inst. : a light brown horse Pony, 6 years old, 12| hands j Station, Nottingham, who holds a warrant for his apprehen- high, thick neck and mane, white star on forehead, cow hock, and Russian breed. Stolen'from a field, during the night of the 3rd instant: a roan Mare, about 13| bands higb, has a scar on near hip, the hair chafed on top of tail, which is small, and in rather low condition ; the property of James Wright, of Litcham. Information to be given to Superintendent Symonds, East Dereham, or to Inspector Watson, Litcham, Swaffham, Norfolk.— Bow street, June 12. BURGLARY BREAKING. Between 1 and 2 a. m., on the 18th instant, the shop of Mr. Robert Loughton, grocer, in the parish of Northop, waa broken into and stolen therein from £ 5 to £ 7 in Gold and Silver and. Copper Monies. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Adams, or to Inspector Minshull, Mold, Flintshire.— Bow- street, June 19. Between 11 p. m. on the 16th, and 5 a. m. on the 17th inst., the shop of Isaac Peers Davies, of Feathers- street, Flint, pawnbroker, was broken into, and stolen therein : a small Geneva Watch, No. 16044, long metal Chain, snake pattern attached; a silver Geneva Watch, No. 30872, black hair Guard attached ; and a metal case keyless Watch, No. 1312. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Adams, Mold, or to Sergeant Ward, Flint, Flintshire.— Bow- street. June 19. During the night of the 12th instant the dwelling- house of Mr. Cottrell, of Stanborough- house, Watford, was broken and entered, aud a fine corded brown silk, dress Skirt, trimmed with brown velvet, about three inches wide, stolen therein. Supposed by three men : one, 5 feet 10 inches high, and fair hair and complexion ; dressed in black cloth coat, dark trousers and vest, high hat, and a gay- coloured scarf with orange spots. Another, dark hair and complexion, 5 ft. 8 ins. high; dressed in dark coat, grey trousers and vest, and;, high hat, And the other, 5 feet 5 or C inches higb, dark hair jtnd complexion, and moustache ; dressed in dark clothes and deer- stalker hat. Information to be given to Inspector Chapman,- Police Station, Watford, Herts.— Bow- st,, June 19 Between 3 and 6 a. ra. on the 11th instant, the dwelling- house of Thomas Chambers, Church- lane, Llanidloes, was broken into and stolen therein : a pair of lace- up Boots, with brass eyelets and hobnails, man's small size, and little worn ; a white pocket Handkerchief, with red border; a Loaf of Bread ; half- a- pound of Butter ; two pounds of Sugar; and a Teaspoon. Supposed by a tramp, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, rather sandy, and stout; wore a Description of EDWARD THOMAS alias ROULAND, charged with stealing a Horse ( recovered) from Ebernoe, near Petworth, on the night of the 25th ultimo : 28 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches higb, brown hair, grey eyes, sallow complexion, cross on left arm, burn mark on right kuee, right nostril and lip eaten away with cancer, clark whiskers and moustache ; dressed in a dark coat, and black hat. Was liberated from Portland Convict Prison last March after serving 7 years' penal servitude for horse- stealing. £ 1 10s. reward will be given for his apprehension. Information to be given to Superintendent Kemmish, West Sussex Constabulary, Petworth, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, ' June 12. LARCENY AIB El Stolen about 12' 50 p. m. on the 16th instant, from a pawnbroker's shop at Wigan : a silver lever Watch, maker Thomas Milner, Wigan, No. 1150, had attached a gold albeit Guard, engraved on every other link ; and a silver Geneva Watch, No. 130791, Armand, Geneva; both watches were pledges just taken iu. By a man, about 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, and dressed in dark coat. Supposed to be in company with a young man, about 19 yeara of age, and dressed in white linen jacket. Also j stolen about 6 p. m. on the 14th instant, from a lodging- house in Wigan : three single Blankets, a twill Sheet, a man's check cotton Shirt, a paisley Shawl, and a scarlet and black woollen Shawl, one white stripe. By a inui, a tailor, I about 40 years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, dark com- plexion, hair, whiskers, and moustache ; dressed iu dark nurture tweed shooting coat and trousers, elastic- side boots, and black billycock hat. Ho stated that lie came from Bury to Bolton, and thence to Wigati. Information to be given to Chief Constable Williams, Wigan, Lancashire.— Bow- street, June 19. Description of JOHN SHAW, recently employed as a traveller for the sale of Ale and Porter, who is charged with embezzling £ 1 3s,, belonging to Mr. Charles Bikker, of Wolverhampton : 25 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, ecar on forehead, and left leg very much bowed. lie ia a native of Sheffield, and u? ed sion.— Bow- street, June 16. Stolenfrom the dwelling- house of Robert Simmons, at Spilsby, on the 13th instar. t: a pair of elastic- side Boots with black buttons down fronts, some of which are missing, clump soles, front strap torn off the right Boot. Supposed by a tramping printer, who lodged at the house on the pre- vious night, about 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches higb, brown hair, dark complexion, small dark moustache, and very little dark whiskers ; dressed in a blue frock ribbed cloth coat, double- breasted vest of same material, dark trousers with pockers in side seams, grey a*, d white striped shirt with turned down collar, very narrow light neck- tie, and black Yankee hat. Was traced into Boston on the 14th. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Richdale, Spilsby, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, June 16. Absconded on the 10th instant, from 21, Red Lion- square, embezzling £ 200 : a man 25 years of age, 5 ft. 5 ins. high, sallow complexion, brown hair and moustache, sandy beard, and stont; dressed in Wown tweed suit, hard felt bat, lace- up boots, and a native of Germany.— Metropolitan Police, E Division, June 14, Stolen on the 9lh instant, at Slough : one Stock Brush ; one Dust Brush; and two Sash Tools; all branded in tho handles, ' J. Deverill.' By a painter, 45 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, rather stout make, fresh complexion, light grey eyes, and sandy hair and whiskers ; dressed in a light mixture tweed coat and trousers, much worn, dark cloth vest, and black soft billycock hat. Information to be given to Superintendent Dunham, Police Station, Slough, Bucks.— Bow- sfeet, June 14. Absconded on the 11th instant, from 69, Gt. Titchfield- street, embezzling £ 15 : a man, 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 ins, high, and dark complexion ; dressed in dark coat, light trousers and vest, and round felt hat. May probably go to Ipswich, where he has friends.— Metropolitan Police, E Divi- sion, June 14. FELOS. { Not otherwise, described), Absconded from Foleshill, charged with rape : ENOCH ATHERSYCH, native of Foleshill and ribbon pattern maker, 45 to 50 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches higb, fair complexion," ight brown hair, full beard, and moderate build; generally dressed in light plaid trousers, light grey jacket, ?. nd black billycock hat. information to ba given to Superintendent Austin, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Row- street, June 12. The man advertised in the Police Gazatte of the 12th instant, under this head, and giving the names of * BALMER, CLAUDE ALLEN, & c., is supposed to have been at the Castle Hotel, Dartmouth, Devon, about a fortnight ago and passed a false cheque drawn on Messrs. Coutt's aud Co, hankers, London. He is known at Dartmouth by the name of MacClaude Allen. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Dore, G Division, Devon Constabulary, Kingsbridge. — Bow- street, June 19. Description of THOMAS KAY, grocer, formerly of Ashton- under- Lyne, charged with obtaining a quantity of Bacon, Cheese, and Butter by false pretences ; 30 years of age, 5] ft. 5 ins. bigh, dark hair, fresh complexion, slight whiskers and moustache, and stout build ; generally dressed in Scotch black and white plaid suit, and is a native of the West of Ireland. It is supposed he will attempt to start business as provision dealer. Information to be given to Chief Con- stable Dalgliesh, Borough Police Office, Town Hall, Ashton- under- Lyne, Lancashire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, June 1G. Absconded from Wetton, near Ashborne, charged on a warrant with poisoning fish at Grindon, on the 1st instaut : WILLIAM WINT, about 32 years of age, 6 feet 3 inches high, dark hair and eyes, fresh complexion, left ear bitten off, hair long cn the left side to cover the same, and the fourth finger on right hand crooked ; he is a mason's labourer, and supposed to be in the neighbourhood of Sheffield or Derby. And BENJAMIN ALCOCK, labourer, of Butterton, near Leek, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fresh complexion, no whiskers, and stoutly built. Supposed to be in the neighbourhood of the Potteries, or Manchester. Information to be given to Superintendent Williams, Leek, or to Sergeant Dobson, Warelow, near Ashborne, Staffordshire, who holds warrants for their apprehension. — Bow- street, June 16. Absconded from Greywell, Hants, on the 4th instant, charged with obtaining goods on false pretences, at Odiham, on the 31st ultimo : DORCAS WHITE, of Old Basing, near Basingstoke ; 20 years of age, 5 feet 3- j iuches higb, fair complexion, dark hair, grey eyes, rather round featured, full j face, and slightly sun freckled ; dressed in grey dress, trimmed with blue, black bat with scarlet flowers, and is supposed to have a dark blue waterproof with her. Infor- mation to be given to Sergeant Gilbert, Hants Constabulary, Odiham, Plants, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bow- street, June 16. Absconded from Kintbury on the 9th instant, charged with obtaining £ 25 12s. 6d., by false pretences : THOMAS TAYLOR, late National Schoolmaster at Kintbury, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, light grey eyes, light brown bair, and slight figure ; dressed in soft black felt hat, dark coat and trousers, and usually wears spectacles. Has been in the army, and is believed to be a pensioner. Information to be given to Superintendent Bennett, Newbury, Berks, who holds the warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, June 16. Description of a man charged with obtaining 3s. by false pretences, at Stonebreaks, on tbe 8th instant: about 35 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 iuches high, sallow complexion, dark hair, cut 3hort, moustache and imperial turning grey; dressed in white rough linen jacket, dark cloth striped trousers, cloth cap, and old shoes. Information to be given to Inspector Whincup, West Riding Constabulary, Saddleworth, York- shire.— Bow- street, June 14, Obtained by false pretences, at Keighley, on the 10th nstant: the sum of 8,3. By JOHN BOOTH, native of Gateshead, a painter and paperhanger, about 32 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, well built, light brown hair, cut rather short and parted down the centre, pale complexion, round features, wears moustache only, and cut mark on side of one eye; dressed in brown mixture overcoat with velvet collar, dark vest, black trousers, blue tie, aud plaid cap, supposed blue and green. Left Keighley ou the 10th iustant; warrant issued. May be ia company with a woman to whom he is said to be married, a native of Wrexham, and is a tall, stout woman. Information to be given to Superintendent Ireland, West Riding Constabulary, Keighley, Yorkshire — Bow- street, June 14. Description of WILFRED M. WALLER ( name sup- posed to be fictitious) chargud by William Garrett, hotel keeper, Chepstow, with obtaining £ 3 by means of a false cheque, drawn on Messrs. Coutts and Co., London : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, prominent eyes, dark complexion, hair ( parted in the middle aud very tbin in front), whiskers, and moustache; dressed in dark grey suit, and black felt hat, had with him a small black leather bag, light coloured satin scarf, with silver or steel scarf pin, in the form of a driving bit with cross bar, attached, several rings| on his fingers, one of them silver, and carried a walking stick, with silver band on the handle. He is very fond of talking about officers in the Army and horse racing, is of gentlemanly appearance and manners, and said he was a member of the Grafton Club, Grafton- street, London. Sup- posed to be the same man described in the Police Gazette of 29th March last, in the name of W. A, BALMER, charged with obtaining Money at Maidstone; also as CLAUDE ALLEN, in the Police Gazette of the 15th ultimo, obtaining Money at Luton ; also as CAPTAIN CLAUDE PARE, in Police Gazette of the 7th instant, obtaining Money at Weymouth. Information to be given at the Chief Constable's Office, Abergavenny: to Captain Berthon, Usk; or to Inspector Ward, Chepstow, Monmouth, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, June 12. Neville, Ledbury- road, both pledged with R. C. Smith, 5, Devonshire- terrace, Notting- hill- gate, London; No. 2902, dated 29th May, 1.876, a Pencil- case, for 10s,, Miss Glover, 18, Pel ham- road, with Geo. S. Chapman, 108, Fulham- road, Brompton ; and No. 354, 31st May, 1876, Wrist Links, for £ 1, Miss Wilson, Portland- road, with Robert Baker Starling, 68, Great Portland- street, London. Information to be given to Superintendent Newnham, Eastbourne, Sussex.-^ Bow- street, June 19. Escaped from the County Gaol, Bury St. Edmunds, on the 17th iustant: SAMUEL WRIGHT, a native of Long Melford, a matmaker, 21 years of, age, 5 feet 5f inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, and wearing a grey prison dress. Information to be given to the Police, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.— Bow- street, June 19. Remanded, on a charge of larceny at Brigg, until the . 20th instant: a man who gives the name of WILLIAM BIRKIN, and who says he belongs to Barnsley, and worked as a loader, at a coal mine, and left in March last, and that since then he has worked on the Castleford Railway : he is 32 years of age, 5 feet 5| inches high, dark complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, no whiskers, beard about 8 days growth, aud scar from a cut on left breast; dressed ia a blue cloth dress coat, light striped tweed vest, a white slop underneath, old cord trousers, sewn at knees, calico shirt, red neckerchief, and strong laced boots, with brass eyelet holes ; he had in his possession a new strong twilled cotton shirt, machine made. Information to- be given to Superintendent Danby, Police Station, Brigg, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, June 19. Absconded on the 9th iust,, from the Reformatory, Ware WILLIAM BRANDON, 17 years of age, 5 feet 4 ins. high, stout figure, fair complexion, freckled, blue eyes, thin nose, is slightly cross- eyed, bad sight, and walks a little bow- legged. A reward of £ 1 for his apprehension and all reasonable expenses will be paid by Governor Fish, Herts Reformatory, Ware.— Bow- street, June 16. . Remanded on a charge [ of larceny, at Stony Stratford, until the 23rd instant: a man who gives the name of GEORGE WHITE, 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, hazel eyes, and light brown hair ; dressed in black billycock hat, white slop with metal buttons, dark striped tweed vest, black cloth trousers, dark cotton shirt, white necktie, and lace- up boots. Information to be given to Inspector Webb, Police Station, Stony Stratford, Bucks.— Bow- street, June 19. Description of ELIZABETH BIGGS, who was con- victed at the Eastbourne Petty Sessions on the 12th iustant, on two charges of stealing gold Rings from jeweller's shops, and sentenced to 14 days hard labour for each offence in Sussex County Prison at Lewes: 21 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches, fair complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, and medium build; dressed in a black coarse straw hat, trimmed with white lace and daisies, grey striped polonaise with ball fringe, and black silk skirt.
