Description of two young men, charged with highway robbery with violence, at Birkenhead, on the 6th instant: one dressed in tweed coat, moleskin trousers, dark cloth cap, and red muffler ; the other dressed in dark coat and trousers, and black billycock hat. Between 2 and 5pm. on the 13th instant, the dwelling- house cf James Challenor, Shocklach, was broken and entered, and stolsn therein : a black cloth Coat, pockets on hips, a ditto Vest, a pair grey mixture Trousers, dark stripe, a blue and white check shirt, and a pair light iace- np boots, tips on heels. Supposed by a man of the following description, who was seen neur to the house with a bundle : about 26 or 27 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches higb, light complexion aud light whiskers ; dressed iu light grey cloth coat, dark trousers, and dark c; ep. Further information respecting JOHN BOWKER, alias WONZER, charged with larceny from the person, as advertised in ihe Police Gazette of the 3rd instant. He is supposed to be m company with a low horse dealer, who is also charged with the offence. Both men have left their residence in Liverpool and are keeping out of the way. Description of THOMAS DOVEY and SARAH RHODES, alias SKINNER, who are charged with having on the 9th instant, at Sedgley, violently assaulted one Thomas Jones and stolen from his person a pocket- book aid / 32 in money: * Dovey is about 24 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, light brown hair and moustache, fair complexion, whiskers shaved off; dressed in dark brown coat aud vest, moleskin trousers, black cap which he wears tight on his head and he is a miner, Between 10 and 11 a. m. on the 18th instant, the dwelling- house of Arthur Oakley, of Whoreston, in the parish of Shareshill, was broken and entered, and stolen therein: £ 12 in Gold, and a silver verge WTatch, No. 165, no glass ; also a silver verge Watcb, steel Chain attached. Supposed by two tramps : one about, 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, and small light moustache ; dressed in short pilot jacket, and black billycock hat. The other about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, old cut mark across the right, cheek, small whiskers, beard, and mcustache, and wore an imitation sealskin cap. Between 10 and 12 am. on the 18th instant, the | dwelling- house of William Billins, Maresfield, Sussex, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : an old pinch- beck Watcb, dial cracked from the figure 6 to centre of dial, a small piece of steel Chain attached ; a small silver Geneva Watch, ' A. B.' engraved inside the case, a jet Chain attached; a small black reticule Bag, has a spring fastening at top , a £ 5 Note, of the Lewes Old Bank, has the name of ' Wells' . on the hack ; 6s. 10^ 1. in Copper Monies; one Fourpenny ' and one Threepenny Pieces ; an old clasp Purse ; au old near wedding Ring ; aud a pair of balmoral Boots. Supposed hy two men, one about 24 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, freckled faee, and red bair ; supposed to belong to Tonbridge, Kent ; dressed in a long black j< eket, hard felt hat, and probably the stolen boots, as an old pair was found in the house ; the other man abou1"- 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, two large projecting front teeth, aud light hair ; diessed in an old rusty pilot jacket, cord trousers. , v,. , , and old worsted cap. Description of THOMAS WALKER, drover, of Northmore, near Witney, Oxon, charged with stealing a Sheep at Gursington, neai Oxford, on the 2f> th ultimo ; the property of Mr. F. Herne : about 28 years of age, 5 ft. 8 or 9 inches high, light brown hair, very little whiskers, grey eyes, aud sallow complexion. He has been in the army and has the letters ' D B C' on the left side ; dressed in a brown cloth coat, pockets' at sides, old cloth trousers, and old cloth cap. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Fernsby, or to Inspector Yates. County Police Station, Oxford, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, May 22. Stolen by means of burglary, during the night of the 16th instant, from Rugeley, Staffordshire, the property of Henry Renshaw : a pair of men's elastic- side Boots, part worn; a pair of watertight Boots, soles worn tnin, small patch under toe of one ; a pair of bhicher Boots, part worn ; a pilot cloth Jacket, part worn, velvet collar, two pockets outside on hips, with flaps, one inside left breast; a pilot cloth vest, part worn ; a large blue and white cotton plaid Handkerchief ; and a small red and white ditto. On the night of the 17th instant two dwelling- houses at Bowdon, Cheshire, were broken and entered, and a gentle- man's gold seal with crest, a case of mathematical instruments with name of ' Knight' written inside case, and a silver card case, marked ' S. Description of THOMAS TAYLOR, alias JOHNSON, charged with breaking and entering the dwelling- house of George Farrington, at Church Lawton, on the 6th instant, and stealing— an Overcoat, a suit of black Clothes, and other articles, also £ 5 ( described in the Police Gazette of the 8th instant): about 33 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, light complexion, brown hair, high cheek bones, tuft of Stolen from a field at Acock's Green, near Birmingham, on tte night of the 13th ultimo : two Aged . Cart Mares, one 16$ hands high, light brown ; the other 14J bands high, dark brown, of Welsh breed and blind of the right eye ; the pro- perty of Mr. Marriott, farmer, Acock's Green. Stolen from an orchard at Basingstoke, during the night of the 17th instant: a dun- coloured horse Pony, 20 years old, long black tail aud mane, has been fired all round, the marks being still visible, iu good condition, and shod all round. Absconded from Walsall, charged with stealing £ 21, the monies of his father, Benjamin Astbury: GEORGE ASTBURY, 16 years of age, 5 feet 6 iuches high, stout, dark complexion and hair, parted down the middle and curled on each side of the forehead, and very neat in person ; dressed in a dark grey suit. He is accompanied by a youth IS years of age, and it is supposed that they will go to sea. Absconded on the 16th instant, from Commerce- road, Wood Green, stealing £ 8 : a man, 25 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, small light whiskers; dressed in butcher's smock, dark mixture trousers, and grey billycock hat,— Metropolitan Police, Y Division, May 19. , Stolen from a dwelling- house in Congleton, about 9 a. m. on the 8th instant; a black coburg dress Skirt, with fiill round the bottom; a light woollen Shawl ( recovered); a Book, called ' The Orphan ;' a pair of black kid Gloves, 71 size; and a lady's small silver Geneva Watch, out < if repair. By ANNIE BEEMAN, alias LUCY BEEMAN, about 18 years of age, very fresh looking, sandy hair, aud light blue eyes ; dressed in a black felt hat, trimmed with corded silk and pheasant feather, blaek cloth jacket, open breasted and collar with point in centre behind, white linen dux collar, light print dress ( supposed to be wearing the stolen skirt over it), and carried a lady's satchel with her. She is of good address and respectable appearance, and has been a ward maid in the North Stafford Infirmary, and left about the 5th instant, no doubt she will endeavour to obtain a situation as servant. She sold the shawl on her way to Congleton Station soon after the robbery, and stated she wanted the money to pay her fare to Blackburn. She is a native of Knutton Heath, in Staffordshire. Stolen between the 25th March last and the 8th instant, from the ' White Hart' hotel, Harrogate : a dark blue slack backed Coat aud Vest ; a single- breasted black melton Coat; with two pockets outside and one inside left breast, and Vest to match, the buttons covered with same material as the coat; a blue ribbed cloth double- breasted shooting Coat, two pockets and ticket pocket outside, and one inside left left breast, aud Vest to match ; a greenish- brown mixture double- breasted shooting Coat, with single- breasted Vest and pair of Trousers, of. same material ; a Suit of dark Scotch plaid ;. a grey silk alpaca loose backed summer Coat; a pair of light mixture Trousers ; a brown, cloth Topcoat, with velvet collar, two pockets outside, and lined with black sateen cloth; a single- breasted fancy silk mixture Vest; a. double- breasted Veat ; two white Marsella. Vests ; a white linen Vest. ; a light green Vest; two store- coloured Vests ; a white Vest, with black crossbars ; two black cloth half drees Vests ; a black cloth dress Vest; a pair of old dress Boots ; and a square brown tin Box, with round top, con- taining the Clothing. By a man who haa gone by the name of CHARLES, alias ALICK, alias TOM, MILNER or MILLER, but whose real name is suppoaed to be THOMAS BIBINGTON, about 26 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, sallow complexion, supposed grey eyes, dark brown hair, a boots or waiter by occupation, supposed to be a native of Manchester, of slender build, has two cut marks on fore- head, and one left side of nose ; was dressed when last seen in an old blue double- breasted frock coat, and vest, dark brown mixture trousers, black aud white mixture cloth cap, and strong lace- up boots, nearly new. He is much addicted to drinking aud betting, and frequents low places of amusement. Information to be given to Superintendent Carr, Knaresborough, Yorks.— Bow- street, May 17. Absconded on the llth instant, charged on a warrant with embezzlement : JAMES COX ARTHUR, about SO- years of age, 5 feet 8 iuches high, pale complexion, light brown hair, grey eyes, slight whiskers, aud small very liyht- colour moustache ; speaks with a strong Staffordshire accent, good address, and of gentlemanly appearance. C. — Bow- street, May 15, Absconded on the 6th instant, charged on a warrant with embezzling several sums of Money received on account of his master Mr. Charles Barkshire, Norfolk ARMS Hotel, Arundel : WALTER COLLYER a porter, 22 jeais of age, 5 feet 10 inches high', fail- hair, sandy whiskers shaved on the chin, and well built and very upright; dressed iu a dark blue reefer jacket with velvet collar, light grey trouseis, buttoned boots, and hard felt hat. Was some years in Petersfield, and is now supposed to be in the neighbourhood of Aldershot. By a man, about 38 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, dark moustache, no whiskers, aud slight build ; stated that he was a wood turner, but ha-: the appearance of an old soldier. In- formation to be given to Chief Constable Bond, Cardiff, Glamorganshire.— Bow- street, May 12, Stolen from a house at Burwood, Diddlebury, Salop, on the 8th instant: a blue and white plaid Shirt, the property of George Harris. Supposed by a man of the following description : about 60 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout build ; dressed in a slouched black hat, dark grey top coat, old black trousers, old boots.
