Stolen from a house at Burwood, Diddlebury, Salop, on the 8th instant: a blue and white plaid Shirt, the property of George Harris. Supposed by a man o£ the following description : about 60 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout build ; dressed in a slouched black hat, dark grey top coat, old black trousers, old boots. Information to be given to Superintendent Caswell, Church Stretton, Salop. — Bow- street, May 12. Stolen from Kibworth- Harcourt, Leicestershire, on the 5th instant: a plain metal Teapot, nearly new, with loose lid. By a man cf the following description, who was traced to Leicester : a nav vy, about 38 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark whiskers round face, sunken eyes, prominent forehead, holds his head forward when walking ; dressed in slop, cord vest and trousers, s} ft black billycock. Absconded on the 9th instant, frcm the London, Brighton, and South Coaat Railway, London Bridge, stealing two leather cash Bags, padlocked and brass plates, initials ' L. B. & S. C. By HENRY PHILIP HUXTABLE, about 47 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches higb, black hair and whiskers, turning grey, proportionate make ; dressed in black hard felt hat, name inside ' Tress and Co.', blue overcoat with black velvet collar, grey mixture trousers, black diagonal cloth coat and vest, is supposed to be wearing the gold English lever Watch, f- plate, maker ' Knight and Son,' Northampton, No, 51521, carried a brown twill silk umbrella with metal fastening for rib3 on handle, speaks French. A reward of £ 5 will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to his apprehension. Information to be given to Chief Constable Keenan, Northampton.— Bow- street, May 12. IT, LOUIES. ( Not otherwise described). The tramping violin player, described in the Police Gazette of the 3rd instant, charged with having attempted to violate a young female, near" Penrith, is still at large : he is supposed to be an Irishman, and to be in receipt of a pension from the army ; occasionally he works upon railways and other public works ; he may belong to the Militia. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Fowler, Penrith, or at the County Chie? Constable's Office, Carlisle, Cumberland.— — Bow- street, May 17. A man of the following description, left Kington, on the 15th instant, after obtaining 5*, by false pretences, from his master, Mr. Joseph Walker, a fellmonger : he is a'oout 40 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, thin make, dark hair and complexion ; dressed in dark trousers, black coat^ and black billycock hat, and probably wooden clogs ; he haa lately been working at Wrexham. Information to be given to Superintendent Harwood, Police Station, Kington, Herefordshire.— Bow- street, May 19. Description of HENRY CROSS, charged on a warrant with larceny as a bailee of £ i 10s. in Gold, at Hazlewood Castle on the 9th instant; the property of William Hunter: 27 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, sandy hair, whiskers ( small), and moustache, and little finger of right hand deficient; a joiner. He resided last at Bridling- ton ; has worked for Mr. Clough, at Selby, and also at Drif field, and served his time at Howden. Information to be given to the Superintendent, Tadcaster, Yorkshire.— Eow- st., May 12. Anderson, alias Lambert, is 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes, and scar on back of right hand ; was convicted at York Assizes on the 4th August, 1870, of housebreaking, and sentenced to seven years penal servitude, and seven years police supervision ; was discharged on the 14th March, 1876; went to Leeds, and from there to Hull. He was convicted on the 14th October, 1867, at York Sessions, of assault and robbery, and sentenced to 10 years penal servitude, and liberated from Dartmoor Convict Prison on 9th February last. C. A.' right arm, half moon left arm. He was convicted on the 8th August, 1866, at Gloucester, of larceny, and sentenced to 3 months hard labour at Thornbury Petty Sessions ; on the 13th August, 1876, of larceny, and sentenced to 3 months hard labour ; on the 9th August, 1875, at Gloucester, of larceny, and sentenced to 9 mouths hard labour, and 3 years a light drab cloth police supervision.
