Stolen from the person of a gentleman at the steeple- chase, Packington, on the 8th instant: an English silver lever Watch, capped and jewelled in six holes, white enamelled dial, black hands and sunk seconds; maker's name ' Brown,' Moate- street, Coventry,' and ' R. Stolen from the person of a gentleman at tho Steeple Chases, Packington, on the 8th instant: a gold lever Watch, supposed No. 1865, ^ ias a gold radiated dial, and large black hands. Information to be given to Superintendent Gallaway, Constabulary Office, Aston, near Birmingham, Warwickshire. — Bow- street, April 12. MUEDEE AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Description of GEOEGINA STANIER, alias WHIT- TINGHAM, who absconded from East Vale,. near Longton, ' on the morning of the 10th instant, charged with murdering her female infant child, on the 9th February last: 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, fair complexion, rather thin features, light auburn hair brushed off forehead ; dressed in black crape bonnet, black dress with one flounce, old faded paisley shawl, leather boots with elastic sides. A warrant is issued for her apprehensiou. A reward of £ 50 is offered by Her Majesty's Government for the conviction of the murderer or murderers. See Police Gazette of the 13th March and following dates. A Child, named EMILY HOLLAND, 7 years of age, SITEG1AEY A ID BOUSE 1EEAEIIG. On the 15th instant, the Postal Telegraph Office at Gloucester Docks, ' was broken and entered*, and stolen therein : £ 1 7s. in Silver and 4s. 7d. in Copper. ' t On the same afternoon, the warehouse of Mr. John Ware, currier, of London- road, Gloucester, was broken. and entered, and about £ 1 worth of Receipt and Postage Stamps, and 4d. in Copper, stolen therein. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Griffin, Police Office, Gloucester,— Bow- street, April 18. Between 9 p. m. on the 31st ultimo, and 6 a. m. on the - ist instant, the workshop of Thomas Hopley, Broxton, was broken and entered, and stolen therein :. a hand Saw ; a when seen at Taunton, on the 11th instant, where he sold the stolen property, in old grey cloth jacket, much worn, dirty white slop, fustian trousers and vest, a large white handker- chief tied round his neck, black billycock hat, with the crown broken down in the centre, and a small red feather stuck inside the band, and lace- up boots, with very small nails.; he had a small brass ring on the little finger of his right hand ; he Stated that he was going to tramp to Bradford, Yorkshire, and, is likely to be found seeking relief for the night in workhouses, or may be found sleeping in out- houses. Infor mation to be given to Superintendent Collins, Devon Con stabulary, Cullompton, Devon, who holds the warrant fo his apprehension.— Bow- street, April 19, Changed with stealing in the parish of Southill, on the 6lh instant, a Vest, since found pawned at Hitchin : a tramp about 50 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, hair turning grey, and beard about three weeks' growth; dressed in an old high beaver hat, dark coat, vest, and trousers, much worn. He was traced to a lodging- house at Hertford, where he slept on the night of the 9th instant, and left next morning. Description of WILLIAM alias SOLOMAN SIZER, charged on a warrant with stealing a gold albert Guard, a silver Watch, and other articles, the property of the North Eastern Railway Company, his masters, on the 9th December last: 28 years ot age, 5 feet 7 inches high, small red whiskers, strong moustache, nearly bald headed. He has a relative at Walthamstow, and three years ago he lived in Hare- street, Bethnal- green. Information to be given ts> Chief Constable Cook, Hull, York.— Bow- street, Apt it 18. Information to be dlesborough, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, April 18. •- street, April 10. mutulated body, without arms, legs, or head, was found in a field at Bastwell, in the borough of Blackburn. Afterwards on the same day the legs and feet were found in a drain at Lower Cunliffe, in the township of Rishton, about two miles , from Blackburn. The above- mentioned, man was from 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, proportionately made, long face, long thin nose, small dark eyes, cheek bones rather full, dark beard from lower side of face to and round the chin, dark long hair, brown skin as if sun burned, round shouldered, and his neck sinking partly forward; dressed in a black billycock hat, with narrow brim, a dark mixture rough tweed cloth loose jacket, slit on hips, single- breasted, brown vest, dirty fnstain or cloth trousers, worn at the bottoms, clogs worn down at sides, and leather ou the top cut open. He walked rather lame. £• 1.00 reward will be paid by Her Majesty's Government to any person or persons who will give such information as shall lead to the discovery and conviction of the murderer or murderers; and Mr. Secretary Cross will advise the grant of. ller Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the murder, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to the like result ; and the * Mayor aud Members of the Corporation of the said borough wearing the unrecovered articles, 40 to 45 yesrs of age, 9 inches high, stout build, fair hair, whiskers, and comple^ and broken nose. Stolen between the 15th and 16th instant, from the per- son of James Bracken Richardson, at Barrow- in- Furness : a wash leather Purse, containing £ 20 in Gold, — 16 £ 5 Notes of the Craven Bank, 3 £ 5 Notes of tho Bradford Bank, and I £ 5 Bank of England. Information to be given to Superintendent Barker, Police Station, Barrow, Lancaster- shire.— Bow- street, April 18. mark under lower lip ; dressed in a dark cloth shooting coat, vest, and trousers, brown cloth topcoat with velvet collar, billycock hat; carries a black leather bag, and stated he was a painter aud decorator. Information to be given to Chief Constable Saggerson, Borough Police Station, Middlesbrough, Yorks.— Bow street, April 19. Description of WILLIAM PARKHOUSE, a tramping labourer, a native of Uffculme, Devon, who is charged with stealing, on the 10th instant, a quantity of wearing Apparel, recovered, at Moorhays Farm, in the parish of Burlescombe, Devon : he is 36 years of age, looks older, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark complexion, black hair, whiskers, aud moustache, eyes sunk back iu head, supposed to be slightly marked with small- pox, aud haa a slight impediment in his speech; dressed seen in Liverpool on the 3rd instant. aud has been a soldier; dressed in dark coat, dark double- breasted vest, cord trousers, and soft felt hat. Information ' to be given to Chief Superintendent Coward, Borough Police Office, Guildhall, Dorchester, Dorset, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, April 12. Absconded : RICHARD and ELIZABETH EGLING- TON, natives of Moselyhall, near Wolverhampton : the man is about 36 years of age, 5 feet high, stout build, no whiskers, bow legged, a collier ; dressed in plaid trousers, with a patch on one knee; the woman has a dark complexion and hair, cut short, scar on neck, and has two thumbs on the right hand; dressed in a black dress, with flounces. They aTe charged with stealing a black cloth Coat, nearly new ; two pairs of lace- up boots, one gutta- percha, nailed, the other leather; two Shirts, one flannel, the other striped cotton ; a Shift; a pair of woollen Stockings ; and £ 2, They left behind some old boots and shirts ; they are supposed to be iu Hanley, Staffordshire, or Wigan, Lancashire. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Bradshaw, Wrexham, Denbighshire, who holds a warrant for their apprehension,— Bow- street, April 12. Description of JOHN FRAZER, lately agent for Messrs. Burbridge, Pcitchard, and Bartlest, wholesale tea dealers, No, 14, Little Tower- street, London, at Newcastle- upon- Tyne, who is charged. on a warrant with embezzling £ 200: he is about 33 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, very dark or black hair, whiskers, and moustache, sallow complexion, stout person, leans a little forward when walking, and has a rather slow way of speaking ; generally dresses in dark clothes, and is of respectable appearance ; he is a native of Scotland, but resided for several years in London ; he was and it ia supposed he J • will endeavour to leave the country. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Central Police Station, New- castle- upon- Tyne, Northumberland.— Bow- street, April 12, Charged with larceny at Sheffield : DANIEL O'SUL- LIVAN, a native of Cork, a medical assistant, about 25 yrs. of age, 6 feet high, broad shoulders, military appearance, fresh complexion, brown hair, little whiskers, rather sandy, thin prominent roman nose, large ears, which project very much from the head. Information to be given at the Central Police Office, Sheffield, Yorkshire,— Bow- street, April 12, Absconded from Middlesbrough on the 4th instant, charged with stealing a quantity of Gold Leaf : JOHN HUGHES, an artist or decorator and native of London, about 45 or 50 vears of age, stout make, dark complexion and hair, very little whiskers, lame of one lea and walks with a stick, also crippled in one hand ; dressed in old dark clothes, black billycock hat, and old boots. Information to be given to Chief Constable Saggerson, Borough Poliee Station, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, who holds a warrant and will pay all expenses on his arrest.— Bow- street, April 10. Escaped from custody at Corwen Railway Goods Yard, between 3 aud 4 a. m. on the 24th ultimo, charged with larceny : EVAN EVANS, a porter, in the employ of the Great " Western Railway Company, at Corwen, and at times assistant breaksman, between Corwen and Ruaboa : about 39 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches higb, stoutly built, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, no whiskers, and stoops a little; he is a labourer, and has been working as a plate layer for several years ; dressed when he escaped in railway uniform of dark corduroy. Information to be given to Sergeant Williams, Corwen, Merionethshire, who holds the warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, April 10. Charged on a warrant with stealing a Bicycle : W. GILLETT, about 22 years of age, 5 feec 6 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, and slight build; dressed in browu overcoat, dark undercoat, dark trousers, and black round hat. He has been in Margate, canvassing for a directory, called ' The Ramsgate, Margate, Canterbury, and Dover Directory,' published by Webb Brothers, publishers, No. 70, Park- street, Grosvenor- square, London. Informa- tion to be given to the Chief Constable, Margate, Kent.— Bow- street, April 10. Stolen about 4 p. m. on the 2nd instant, from the shop of James Henry Beddow, watchmaker, Hednesford, Stafford- shire : two silver open- face Geneva Watches, Nos. 2624 and 50965 ; a silver open- face lever Watch, 24562 ; a small silver Geneva Watch, gold dial, 69347; three silver open- face Geneva Watches, white dials, 66085, 48738, and 55165 ; two silver verga Watches, 7701 and 31134 ; two silver Geneva Watches, one jewelled in 8 holes, 2592, the other in 4 holes, 13148 ; a Boston American silver lever Watch, top plate jewelled, 299.01 ; two silver Geneva Watches, 3304 and 7940, and several others ; a silver lever crystal watch, two glasses in back and one in front, plain dial, and winds up in front; a silver curb w atch Guard ; a six- barelled Revolver ; and a Suit of plaid Clothes. By ALBERT KRAUTH, a German, who was journeyman watchmaker for Mr. Beddow, and lodged, in his house three weeks : 31 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, black hair ( parted behind), whiskers, and moustache, never shaved, and very high forehead ; dressed in a pepper and salt cloth jacket and vest, small plaid, pockets on hips, black cloth trousers, hard black billycock hat, red necktie, and elastic- side boots. He came from Philadelphia, via Liverpool, seven months since, and has a relative, a watchmaker, in Guest- street, Hockley, Birmingham ; he also has friends at Tipton and Tunstall. Information to be given to Superintendent Hill. Brownhills, near Walsall, Stafford- shire.— Bow- street, April 10. d, Stafford, who holds a warrant reet, r3pril 13. '-. Further information respecting WILLIAM GRIFFIS, alias GEORGE WOOD, described in the Police Gazette of the 31st December and 5th January last; charged with obtaining Money by fraud from Lloyd's Bank, Stafford. On the 23rd ultimo he was in custody ^. Liverpool, in the name of DAVID ROBERTS, charged toth obtaining a Bill of Exchange by fraud. He was discharged, and nothing has since been heard of him. - It is supposed he is in some large town in the Northern Counties. The reward of £ 5 for his apprehension is still offered. Information to be given to Inspector Hackney, Guild Hall, for his apprehension.— Bow- street. Absconded from 301, Strand, charged with having obtained on 5th November last, £ 50 by false pretences: GEORGE REID, 45 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion, hair and beard turning grey, small scar on back of neck, and round shoulders; dressed generally in dark clothes, and high hat, of respectable appearance. He is supposed to have been convicted in 1868 or 1869, and was sentenced to 5 years penal servitude. Warrant issued. — Metropolitan Police, E Division, April 12. Description of SAMUEL NEWMAN, charged with obtaining several sums of money by false pretences, and who absconded from Great Bridge, Tipton, about the 3rd ult. : about 40 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, light complexion, fair hair, no beard, large nose, several blue marks on the face, stout build; he is a collier, and was at the time he absconded one of the local secretaries of the West Bromwich district of the Amalgamated Association of Miners ; he is fond very of betting, speaks with a loud voice, and generally carries his hands in his trousers pockets. Information to be given to Superintendent Holland, Police Office, Wednesbury, Stafford- shire, who holds a wurrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, April 10. m& CE& S. AMEOOT INFORMATIONS. Absconded from Minchinhampton, Gloustershire, on the instant, charged with counselling and procuring Mary n Rose to administer poison to her illegitimate child at nchinhampton on the 31stult. : CAROLINE GRANT, ut 17 yea^ s of age, about b feet higb, black hair, dark plexion, ' tery thick lips, and cut mark down the forehead; essed in old light print dress with large flounce, old brown acket, old black hat trimmed with black and scarlet ribbon, Id lace- up boots with patches on sides; carried an old light hawl; she is a native of Tetbury, Gloustershire. Informa- ion to be given to Superintendent Hanbridge, Stroud, xloucestershire, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— , April 12. EAtJDS AND AGGRAVATED MISDEMEANOURS. Further information respecting the man advertised in the Police Gazette of the 7th instant, as WM. WARNER, charged with obtaining £ 5 12s,, by false pretences : his proper name is GEORGE DRURY, a surveyor, 44 years of age, G feet 4 inches high, dark brown hair, sallow complexion, birth mark on left ankle, scar on throat, and a scar on right leg; has served 4 years penal servitude and 7 years police supervision, and was discharged from Dartmoor on license in 1873. About a fortnight ago, he telegraphed from the ' Cathedral'hotel, St. Paul's Church Yard, London, to a friend of his in Leeds, asking for a loan of £ 3, which was sent him. Information to be given to Chief Constable Poyntz, Nottingham, who holds a warrant for his apprehen- sion.!— Bow- street, April 19. Charged on a warrant with fraudulent bankruptcy: WILLIAM MARTIN ECKERSLEY, a licensed victualler and accountant : 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, pale looking, dark brown hair, inclined to curl, slight dark whiskers and moustache, appears consumptive, is slender built, and head leans forward ; has large dark eyes, and occasionally wears spectacles ; is of good address and gentle- manly appearance ; and generally dressed in a grey suit. It is supposed that he will attempt to emigrate. Information to be given to Superintendent Barker, Barrow- in- Furness, Lancashire.— Bow- street, April 18.
