A Child, named EMILY HOLLAND, 7 years of age, left her home, at 4- 30 p. m. on the 28th ultimo, at 110, Moss- street, Blackburn, and at 12 noon on the^ 30th ultimo, the mutrdated body, without arms, legs, or head, was found in a field at Bastwell, in the borough of Blackburn. Afterwards on the same day the legs and feet were found in a field at Lower Cunliffe, in the township of Rishton. The child was dressed in a black frock, black velvet hat with black feather, purple and white plaid shawl, boots, lilac printed pinafore with black leather belt round the waist,- and blue ribbon round her head, fastening the hair. • At the time she- was last seen near her home, a man sent her into a shop to purchase some tobacco, aud she was not again seen alive; it is suspected that the man decoyed her away, and afterwards murdered her. He is 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, proportionately made, long face, cheeks rather full, dark beard from lower side of face to and round the chin, dark long hair, brown skin as if sun burnt, round shouldered, and his neck * sinking partly forward; dressed in a black billycock hat with narrow brim, a dark mixture cloth loose jacket, single- breasted brown vest, dirty fustain trousers worn at the bottoms, clogs worn down at sides, and leather, on the top cut open. Thii man was seen begging in the neighbourhood where tha child resided for about two hours, and was not seen after the child was missing. Walkin, in the execution of his duty, on the night of the 21 st instant, in the parish of, Old Stratford : WM. McCLOW, ' alias DICK THE BIRD CATCHER, a shoemaker, about 28 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, pale f; icu, sharp nose, crooked from a blow, brown hair, no whiskers, and very small moustache ; generally dressed in, dark jacket, brown cap, with peak of the same material, cord trotisers, and frequently wears a w hite. apron rollecj round his waist. JOHN WALKER, " about 20 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inchcs high, light , brown hair. no beard or whiskers, fair complexion, small face, walks in a slouching manner,' generally carries his hands in his trousers pockets, and frequently has a dirty short pipe in bis mouth, whether smoking or not, has the appearance of a navvy, and has worked as such ; some- times dressed in a white slop, and a fustian jacket over it, cloth cap, fustian trousers, red neckerchief, and strong lace- up boots. A plain gold full plats lever open- face Watch, white enamel dial, without seconds, No. 6403. „£ 1 reward. A gold English lever Watch, open- face, cream- coloured dial, seconds hand, chased case, . with rose and forget- me- nots on back, maker N. Alker, No. 315, had a HooJs attached. £ 5 reward. A silver lever Watch, plain case, open face, white dial, sunk seconds, maker Howard, Derby- road, Kirkdale. A silver lever Watch, has inside ' Made Penrith, Cumber- land.' £ 1 reward. A silver lever hunting Watch, plain cases, gold balance and joints, jewelled in two pairs extra, white dial, maker William Peters, No. 1682, has ' James McCleary, Liverpool, 1870,' engraved on inside case, had attached a gold Albert, with masonic Key Stone. £ 2 reward. A gold . diamond breast Pin, the head about the size of a half- pelusy, with a cluster of diamonds in the centre, had a small gold Quoit attached with a piece of Chain. £ 2 reward. A silver Geneva Watch, single case, ' P. H. J.' supposed engraved on etlt.- ifio. of case. A silver Geneva, Wafgh, white dial, chased round edge of dial. And. a ladys gold Geneva Watch, dark brown dial, with seconds hand'. The rewards above mentioned will be paid for the recovery of the, property, and for such information as will lead to the apprehension and' conviction of, the offender or offenders. Information to be given to Chief " Constable Mansell, Lincoln.— Bow- street, March 27. r on , — dwelling- house of Mrs. Mary Cullwick, Watton- street, West- bromwich, was broken and entered and stolen therein : a brass Cornet, with silver mouthpiece ; a pair of lady's elastic side Boots ; two pairs of jet Ear- rings ; one jet Brooch ; and between £ 5 and £ 6 in Gold and Silver Monies. Information to be given to Superintendent Woollaston, Police Office, Westbromwicb, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, March 27. Stolen by means of housebreaking, between 1 and 5 p. m. on the 17th instant, the sum of 4s. 4d., the property of Albert Clapp, a labourer, in the parish of Winterbourne, Gloucester- shire. By- a tramp 21 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, thin figure, light hair, small light whiskers and moustache, fresh complexion, mark down one side of neck ; dressed in dark grey coat and trousers, with stripes, fur cap with strings tied over the top, and old elastic side boots. Description of a tramp char^ ad,, with, housebreaking at Codforcl St Mary, Wilts, on^ Se l^ Slhstant.: about 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, light brown hair, small sandy whiokers and moustache ; dressed in dark pilot jacket, dark tweed trousers, hard bowler hat, elastic side boots with toe- caps and false kceholes, and no socks or stockings,' He is of dirty appearance, and is likely to have a red pockethaadke; chief with white spots. Has probably a new coat on now, as be left his own at Ely with his mistress's horse and cart. Stolen on the 25th instant, from West- street, St. Giles : a silver lever Watch, a church, tree and figure of the rising sun engraved thereon ; a long silver neck Chain ; two pairs of Trousers, one pair dark with red spots, and one pair light tweed, dark stripe down the sides; two Vests, one biack and one dark tweed; a black rep cutaway Coat, with pockets on hips; three Shirts, two white calico and one brown woollen ; and 10s. in Silver. By a man 35 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, fair complexion, and light brown hair and whiskers ; dressed in grey cutaway coat, dark mixture trousers, lace boots, black billycock hat, and is a shoemaker. — Metropolilan Police, E Division, March 29. Description of WILLIAM HENRY GOULD, charged with embezzling £ 1 Is., the moneys of Mr. James Peake. Hanley, his master : he is a piano- tuner and repairer, 44 to 45 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, fresh complexion, blue or grey eyes, grey hair, moustache and beard, and of smart, gentlemanly appearance ; had on when last seen an ulster coat, silk hat, and generally carries a walking stick. Infor- mation to be given to Chief Constable Windle, Hanley, Staffordshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Mareh 29. The tramping blacksmith, charged with larceny, at Stockcross, on the 17th instant, and advertised in the Police Gazette of the 20th iustaut and subsequent dates, lias been apprehended and committed for trial on the 4th proximo. The whole of the stolen property is recovered. His name is WILLIAM CHAPMAN, alias GEORGE CHAPMAN, » native of Beenham, lsear Reading.
