INFORMATIONS MUEB13 AND MA& ZCIOUSliT WOUNDING. Absconded, charged with assaulting and wounding P. C. Walkiu, in the execution of his duty, oil the night of the 21st instant, in the parish of Old Stratford : WM. McCLOW, alias DICK THE BIRD CATCHER, a shoemaker, about 28 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, pale face, sharp nose, crooked from a blow, brown hair, no whiskers, and very small moustache; generally dressed in dark jacket, brown cap, with peak of the sirae material, cord trousers, and frequently wears a white apron rolled round his waist. JOHN WALKER, about 20 years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, light brown hair, no beard or whiskers', fair complexioa, small face, walks in a slouching manner, generally carries his hands in his trousers jockets, and frequently has a dirty short pipe in his mouth, whether smoking or not, has the appearance of a navvy, and has worked as such ; some- times dressed in a white slop, and a fustian jacket over it, cloth cap, fustian trousers, red neckerchief, and strong lace- up boots. Information to be given to Superintendent Thomas, Alcester, or to Inspector Antlett, County Police Station, Strat- ford- on- Avon, Warwickshire.— Bow- street, March 27. ARSON AND WILFUX, BURNING. Further information respecting the arson at Bodenham, Herefordshire, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 10th inst. : the sweep, HENRY DALEY, is committed for trial at the assizes. The woman is still at large, she is a widow and comes from Cranes- hill, Swansea, about 45 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, rough red face, and dressed in dirty shawl and dark bonnet. Information to be given to Super- intendent Dykes, Leominster, Herefordshire.— Bow- street, March 20. A silver Geneva Watch, white dial, chased round edge of dial. And a lady's gold Geneva Watch, dark brown dial, with seconds hand. The rewards above mentioned will be paid for the recovery of the property, and for such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given at the County Police Office, Old Swan, near Liverpool.— Bow- street, March 29. Stolen from the person during the last races at Lincoln : a silver lever Watch, No. 1875; a silver verge hunting Watch, No. 2772; and a silver lever Watch, No. 23294, with a silver Albert attached. Information to be given to Chief Constable Mansell, Lincoln.— Bow- street, March 27. Stolen from tha person of HENRY FISHER, at Coppull, on the night of the 14th instant: a silver verge Watch, old make, maker's name ' Henry McCutcheon, Beaumaris,' No. 214 ; had attached a long brass Chain, a steel fob Chain, and a brass Key ; an old oval rather large brass Tobacco- box ; and 6s. Cd. in Silver. Information to be given to Superintendent Beetham, County Police Office, Chorley, Lancashire.— Bow- street, March 22. Stolen from the person of a gentleman at Kuighton, on the 10th instant: thirty- four £ 5 Notes, issued by the North and South Wales Bank, fourteen bear the following Nos., 11424, 12379, 12716, 11319, 13146, 13147, 131D8, 12255, 11695,10575, 12484, 11481, 11947, and 12830, are supposed to have been issued by the Knighton Branch ; and £ 40 in Gold. Stolen from the person at the Steeplechases, Wye, ou the 16th instant: a half- hunter gold Watch, maker ' Thos. Bennett, Dublin,' No. 2077 ; a silver hunter English lever Watch, initials ' A. A.' in old English en'the case ; and a silver hunter Watch. Information to be given to Superintendent Noakes, Kent Constabulary, Ashford.— Bow- st. Ma'ch 20. Stolen from the person on the liighwa)' at Willaston, on the night of the 16th instant: a silver lever Watch, open face and cream- coloured dial with seconds hand, large hand a little bent, No. 6047, maker's name Woodrooffe, of Liverpool; also one Half- Sovereign and three Shillings. Supposed by tluee men : one dressed in a moleskin suit and dark cap ; another in blue serge jacket and dirty coloured trousers ; and the other in corduroy trousers and vest, jacket, corduroy fronts with moleskin back and sleeves. Stolen from the person of Mr. George Patten, at Heath Town, about 11 p. m. on the 25th instant: one gold lever " Watch, No. 1436, gold dial and figures, gold balance and engine- turned case ; and an old wash- leather Bag, containing one Sovereign and Six or Seven Shillings in Silver. Stolen from the person at A in tree Race- course, on the 23rd and 24th instant : A silver lever Watch, open face, white dial, sunk seconds, and gold hands, maker William Sweetman, Liverpool, No. 1872 or 1873, had attached a gold Albert, curb pattern. ,£ 1 reward. A plain gold full plate lever open- face Watch, white enamel dial, without seconds, No. 6403. £ 1 reward. A gold English lever Watch, open- face, cream- colourecl dial, seconds hand, chased case, with rose and forget- me- nots on back, maker N. Alker, No. 315, liad a Hook attached. £ 5 reward. A silver lever Watch, plain case, open face, white dial, sunk seconds, maker Howard, Derby- road, Kirkdale. A silver lever Watch, has inside ' Made Penrith, Cumber- land.' £ i reward. A silver lever hunting Watch, plain cases, gold balance and joints, jewelled in two pairs extra, white dial, maker William Peters, No. 1682, has ' James McCleary, Liverpool, 1870, engraved on inside case, had attached a gold Albert, with masonic Key Stone. £ 2 reward. A gold diamond breast Pin, the head about the size of a half- penny, with a cluster of diamonds in the centre, had a small gold Quoit attached with a piece nf Chain. £ 2 reward. A silver Geneva Watch, single case, ' P, H, J,' supposed engraved on outside of case. Between 12 p. m. and 7 a. m. on the 20th instant, tha dwelling- house of Mrs. Mary Cullwick, Watton- street, West- bromwich, was broken aucl entered and stolen therein : a brass Cornet, with silver mouthpiece ; a pair of lady's elastic side Boots ; two pairs of jet Ear- rings ; one jet Brooch ; and between £ 5 and £ 6 in Guld aud Silver Monies. Information to be given to Superintendent Woollaston, Police Office, Westbromwich, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, March 27. Stolen by moans of housebreaking, between 1 and 5 p. m. on the 17th instant, the sum of 4s. 4d., the property of Albert Clapp, a labourer, in the pariah of Winterbourne, Gloucester- shire. By a tramp 21 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, thin figure, light hair, small light whiskers and moustache, fresh complexion, mark down one side of neck; dressed in dark grey coat and trousers, with stripes, fur cap with strings tied over the top, and old elastic side boots. He is a tinsmith. Information to be given to Superintendent Rawle, Fishponds, or to Sergeant Monk, Hambrook, near Bristol, Gloucester- shire.— Bow- street, March 27. Description of a tramp charged with housebreaking at Codford St. Mary, Wilts, on the 14th instant: about 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, light brown hair, small sandy whiskers and moustache ; dressed iu dark pilot jacket, dark tweed trousers, hard bowler hat, elastic side boots with toe- caps and false kceholes, aud no socks or stockings. He is of dirty appearance, and is likely to have a red pockethandker- ehief with white spots. The Boots and Handkerchief are stolen. Information to be given to Superintendent Abbott, Warminster, Wilts.— Bow- urest, March 27. During the night of the 23rd instant. The Grange, King's Heath, the residence of Isaac Bate, Esq, was broken into, and two silver Thimbles, and two silver plain oval cigar Ash Dishes, with crest ' bull's head,' were stolen therein. £ 100 reward will be paid by Isaac Bate, Esq , to « nv person giving such information as will lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to Superintendent Humphries, King's H « atb, or at the Detective Office, Moor- street, Birmingham, Warwickshire.— Bow- street, March 27. Charged with breaking into a shop at Wrexham, and stealing, therein, a quantity of leather for boots ; and a pair of upper Tops, closed : HENRY JONES, 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, no whiskers or moustache, full face, dark complexion, hair turning grey, short neck, round shoulders, and stout build ; dressed in shabby dark clothes, and soft hat, with a large brim ; he is a native of Oswestiy, and is supposed to be iu that neighbourhood, or at Shrews- bury. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Bradshaw, Wrexham, Denbighshire.— Bow- itreet, March 20, BUE6IAEY AM ® MOUBB BREAKING. The two men who gave their names as GEORGE BROWN and THOS. SMITH, described in Police Gazette of the 13th instant and subsequent dates, charged with burglary, have been identified as THOMAS GIBBONS and CHARLES BYATT ; both are license- holders, and were convicted and sentenced to 10 years penal servitude iu 1868. The third man is still at large. Information to be given to Chief Constable Berry, Gravesend, Kent. — Bow- street, March 29. Stolen by means of housebreaking, the property of James Langridge, in the parish of North Sussex, on the 27th inst. : about £ b 10s. in Gold ; a gold wedding Ring ; a small chased diamond Ring, has a crack inside ; a gold RiDg, with red stone, opening each side of stone ; a pair of common Ear- rings ; a pair of coral Ear- rings, the wire of one was missing; one plain gold Ear- ring; a half- pint metal Cup, with foot ; a brown silk Umbrella, nearly new; and a cock Canary Bird, with a top- knot. Supposed by a mat), from 2b to 30 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, pale complexion, face clean shaved, stout make, and high shoulders ; dressed in light clothes; supposed to be a German. Information to be given to Superintendent Kennard, Police Station, East Grinstead, Sussex.— Bow- street, March 29, Between 6 a. m. and 6 p. m. on 27th instant, a dwelling- house in Ashton- under- Lyne was entered by means of cutting out a square of glass in the back kitchen window, and_ the following property stolen therein : a black cloth twilled worsted Coat, siDgle- breasted, two pockets outside and one inside left breast, three cloth buttons on right side ; a double- breasted Vest, same material; a pair of grey mixture plaid cloth Trousers, fly fronts ; a black cloth double- breasted Coat, two pockets outside and one inside left breast; a black cloth double- breasted Vest, four cloth buttons on each side ; a lady's silk velvet Jacket, scalloped round the collar; a lady's black rep cloth Jacket, made to fit tight, trimmed with velvet reefei and black glass buttons ; a black Dress, in three pieces, viz, jacket body, pannier, and skirt; a Scarlet french merino Skirt, has a frill round the bottom, trimmed with velvet; twe white flannel Petticoats, three tucks on eacli; a woollen Muffler, marked with birds at each corner ; a white silk Pocket- handkerchief, with flowers ; a Mackintosh, black outside and lead- colour inside; a daik grey cloth Shawl, bottom striped with orange ; two fine cotton Sheets, new ; a brown Skirt, has three rows of black velvet and flouueed round the bottom ; a new pair of elastic Braces, red aud white stripe ; a double- plated Albert Guard, with Locket attached ; and a black leather Purse, containing a Florin. HOSBE AID CATTLE STEALING; Found ( supposed to have been stolen) at Coped Hall, Wootton Bassett, on the 19ill ultimo : a brown gelding Horse, 4 years old, 16 hands high, and unbroken. Informa- tion to be given to Srperic, tendent North, Wilts Constabu- lary, S. vindon. — Boic- se- ect, March 29. Further information respecting the Pony, Harness, and Trap, stolen from Burton- on- Trent, as advertised in the Police Gazette of the 17th instant: the whole of the property has been recovered at Chesterfield, where it had beea exchanged for another pony, on the 15th instant, and on the following day, the second pony was sold to a horse dealer, at Sheffield Moor, for i) 13, by the same man as before described ; he then purchased a saddle, with a patch on tha seat, and a double- reined Bridle, which is made up of odds and ends, and a snaffl* bit, and was traced through Retford, going ia the direction of Lincoln or Gainsborough. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Bowen, Burton- oc- Trent, Staffoidshire.— Bom- street, March 27. Since the night of the 21st instant, in a field situate in Howey Lane, Congleton, a sheep was slaughtered and stolen^ £ 2 reward will be paid to any person giving such information as shall lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders. Stolen from a livery stable in Colchester, on the 14tli instant : a grey Cob, aged, 14 hands high, dark hair on knees, mark round near fore leg just above the hoof from the cut of a rope, and stands over hind legs ; an oxford Cart, painted black, picked out v; ith red ; black silver- mounted Harness, also a Rug and Whip. By a man, supposed to be named JOSEPH JOSEPHS, alias HENRY BEAUMONT, about 5 feet 5 inches higb, dark hair aud moustache, no whiskers, florid complexion, dark eyes; dressed in dark plaid coat and vest, light leather breeches, high top boots, felt hat. Infor- mation to be given to Head Constable Mercer, Borough Police Office, Colchester, v ho holds a warrant for his appre- hension.— Bm- stree\ March 20. LAECEIY AMD EMBEZZLEMENT. Absconded, charged with another, in custody, with being concerned iu stealing on the 18th instant 10 brass Bearings of a Machine : ROBERT HOPE, 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark complexion, aud 110 whiskers or moustache; dressed in dark clothes, and of respectable appearance; travels the country under pretenca of repairing machinss, and well known at Witney, Oxen. By a man 35 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, fair complexion, and light brown hair and whiskers ; dressed in grey cutaway coat, dark mixture trousers, lace boots, black billycock hat, and is a shoemaker.— Metropolitan Police, E Division, March 29. Description of WILLIAM HENRY GOULD, charged with embezzling £ 1 Is., the moneys of Mr. James Peake, Hanley, his master : he is a piano- tuner and repairer, 44 to 45 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, fresh complexion, blue or grey eyes, grey hair, moustache and beard, and of smart, gentlemanly appearance ; had on when last seen an ulster coat, silk hat, and generally carries a walking stick. The tramping blacksmith, charged with larceny, at Stockcross, on the 17th instant, and advertised in the Police Gazette of the 20th instant and subsequent dates, has been apprehended and committed lor tiial on the 4th proximo. The whole of the Btolen property is recovered. His name is WILLIAM CHAPMAN, alias GEORGE CHAPMAN, a native of Beenham, tear Reading. He has been convicted at Reading, and also it is supposed at Birmingham and Win- chester. A man about 27 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, rather thick set, dark thin whiskers round face and chin ; dressed in a small low black jimcrow hat, dark coat, pockets at side, and cord or moleskin trousers ; was seen about the neighbourhood, and afterwards going away with a large bundle. He was sentenced to 10 years penal servitude on the 18th March, 1867, for theft, at the High Court of Justiciary, Edinburgh ; was liberated on license on the 4th December, 1874, from Millbank Convict Prison to Edinburgh, and transferred to Newcastle on the 17th May, 1875.
