INFORMATIONS FORGERY. Description of WILLIAM LEEK, who ia charged on a warrant with forging Bills of Exchange to the value of £ 75, at Harrogate, on the 15th and 25th November last, and who absconded from Harrogate, on the 10th instant: 32 years of age, 5 feet 5i inches high, dark complexion, sup- posed grey eyes, long wavey black hair, slightly streaked with grey, thin black whiskers, moustache, and beard, a whitesmith, last resided at Harrogate, of imperfect education, long face, high chqek bones, round shouldered, and walks with his n sad hanging down ; dressed in black serge cloth coat, with two pockets outside, fancy cloth double- breasted vest, black ground with purple diamond spots, chocolate or shaded brown trousers, black silk necktie, soft black billy- cock hat, and lace- up boots. He frequents theatres, music halls, negro entertainments, & c. A reward of £ 5 will be paid for his apprehension. The thieves left behind a pair of grey cloth trou- sers, dark vest, pair ef lace- up boots with hole cut in back of heel, pair of old elastic side boots with holes in the uppers, old blactr Sammy hat, pair of woollen socks, and a blue tweed coat with | lb. of bacon in the pocket. Information to be given to Superintendent Hill, Brownhills, near Walsall, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, January 19. During 10 a. m. and 1 p. m. on the 13th instant, the college of Thomas Spragg, at Thrawley, in the county of Worcester, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein : a black cloth Jacket -; a black cloth Waistcoat; a pair of brown cloth Trousers, with a dark stripe down the outside seam ; a pair of white moleskin Trousers; a silk pocket. Handkerchief ; two coloured calico Shirts ; an old silver Watch; and 9s. 6d. in Silver Money. Supposed by two tramps, from 20 to 30 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, stout made ; one wearing a dark jacket and cloth cap, the other had on a billycock hat.' Stolen by means of housebreaking between the 6th and 10th instant, at Smiddy Shaw, Muggleswick: a double- barrel breech- loading Gun, central fire, No. 12 gauge, walnut stock, is nearly hew, maker H. Description of WILLIAM LANE, charged with steal- ing a Gun at Dartford & n the 16th instant ( since recovered) : about 23 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, pale face, and stoops ; dressed in an old black frock coat, dirty fustian, trousers, and shabby black velvet cap ; a hurdle gate maker. Has been convicted of burglary, and is supposed to be'lodging at Woolwich. Information to be given to Superintendent Fread, Kent Constabulary, Dartford.— Bow- strejtt, Jan. 24. Absconded on the 20th ultimo, from Buxted, Sussex, taking with him the following Watches, which he had to repair: an open- face silver English lever Watch., maker supposed Crundell, Tunbridge Wells; a silver lever hunting Watch, engine- turned cases, maker William Hislop, Tun- bridge Wells and Clerkenwell, London, No. 22725 ; a single- case silver lever Watch, enamelled face, black Roman figures, black hands, capped and jewelled in all holes, a ROBBERY AIB LARCENY FSOE THE PERSON. Stolen on the 10th instant, from the person of a gentle- man in Manchester: a gold keyless open- face Watch, 16- size, double roller, centre seconds, chronometer balance, brequet pendulum spring, jewelled throughout, case has engraved on the back a wreath of laurels with monogram ' J. Absconded on the 10th instant, charged with Sheep stealing at Elton: WILLIAM MARLEW, labourer, of Elton, 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, grey eyes, light hair, and large nose ; dressed in an old black frock coat, light fustian trousers, and old black billycock hat. Informa- tion to be given to Superintendent Barker, Normancross, Peterborough, Northamptonshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, January 24. BURGLARY AMD HOUSE BREAKING* On the 30th November, 1875, the lockup shop of Messrs. Barwick Brothers, watch manufacturers and jewellers, Sheep- street, Skipton, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : aboat twenty- five gold Mourning Kings, forty- five ladies' gold Gem Rings, forty gold Signet Rings, twenty gold Alberts, eighteen gold Necklets, twenty- five silver English lever Watches, six gold English lever Watches, forty silver Swiss Watches, ten gold Swiss Watches, some of which bear Barwick Brothers' name and address, and a quantity of gold Brooches, including a large cameo brooch. Supposed by two men of the following description : JOHN SYKES, alias THOMAS LEONARD, alias COCKNEY JOHNNY, 28 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark complexion and hair, scara on left side of forehead, last residence Birkenhead; dressed in a mixture suit and blue cloth overcoat. DANIEL McELIAY, alias SCOTCH DAN, 28 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair inclined to curl, is a printer, well educated, last residence Leeds. A reward of ,£ 25 will be paid to any person giving such in- formation as will lead to the apprehension of the offender or offenders and recovery of the property. Information to be given to Superintendent Exton, West Riding Constabulary, Skipton.— Bow- street, January 24. Between 6 a. m. and 5 p. m. on the 17th instant, the house of Thomas Taylor, of Burntwood, was forcibly entered and stolen therein: one brown Overcoat with velvet collar, pockets on hips, ticket pocket on left side and one inside breast, pocket; two black cloth Jackets, one loose, the other flap pattern; one black Vest; one black Sammy Hat; one silver Stolen during the night of the llth instant, from a 3table in Heywood- street, Manchester : a bright brown Mare, rising 7 years old, 14 hands high, two white spots on back, white star on forehead, one hind foot white, and was was partly clipped. By a youth, 15 years of age, short and stout, pale- looking, dark brown hair, and dark eyes ; dressed in a black velvet jacket, sleeved coid vest, dark trousers, woven woollen cap with knot on top, and clogs; stated he came from Liver- pool. A reward of £ 5 will be paid by the owner upon his conviction and recovery of the mare. Information to be given at the Detective Office, Cheapside, Manchester, Lanca- shire.— Bow- street, January 21. Description of ISAAC CASS, charged with stealing ; Horse, the property of Thomas Olo Renshaw, on the 14tli inst. 41 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, light brown bait, is : groom, or horse dealer, and has been convicted of horse stealing at Hull and Sheffield. Information to be given to Chief Constable Cook, Hull, Yorkshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, January 21. Supposed to have been stolen, on the night of the 30th ultimo, from a field near Aberdare : a bay entire Pony, 3 years old, about 12J hands high, black mane, tail and legs, white star on forehead and small white streak on upper lip, rough coat, and has never been shod or haltered; the property of Mr. D. Richards, solicitor, Aberdare. Informa- tion to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Thomas, Mextbyr Tydfil, Glamorganshire.^ fiow- sJreeJ, January 19. Stolen between the 2nd and 4th instant, from a field at Hathen Green Farm, Stanstead, Kent : a Hampshire Down Ewe, in lamb, rose out, supposed to have pitch mark ' R.' ( in a circle) on left hip. Stolen on the 17th instant, from the vicarage House, Kimble, near Aylesbury : a pair of side- spring Boots, tips on heels, and in good repair. By a tramp, who states he is a lithographer, 22 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches hijh, dark hair, cut short; dressed in dirty old dark coloured clothes, and billycock hat, high in erown ; be is wearing the stolen boots. Information to be given to Superintendent Denson,. Aylesbury, Bucks.— Bono- street, January 21. Description of AARON PETCH, coal agent, who absconded on the 18th instant, charged with embezzling various moneys of Messrs. Jenkin and Watt : he is 33 years of age, about 5 feat 11 inches high, sandy whiskers and moustache, dark hair, fresh complexion, round shouldered, is a bad walker, and has big feet : dressed in a blue pilot overcoat and black bowler hat; is a native of Bury Saint Edmunds, and was in the 94th Regt. several years. Stolen on the 17th instant, from a Coach house at Great Kimble Vicarage : a pair of side- spring Boots ( man's size), and tips on heels. By a tramp about 25 years of age, 5 ft. 4 or 5 inches high, and dark hair and moustache ; dressed in dirty dark coloured old clothing, and black hard felt hat. Absconded on the 20th instant, from Wrexham, charged, with stealing a blue monkey Jacket, blue and black flannel lining, pockets on either side, and one inside of left breast; a brown twilled Umbrella, with a tin ferrule on the handle ; a,, pair of 6lastic- side Boots, buttons on front, man's size : a man, 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, sandy hair, blue eyes, moustache, sallow complexion; dressed in a black frock coat, blrck velvet vest, and dark tweed trousers, may be wearing the stolen property, especially the boots, as his old ones were left behind ; stated that he has been to sea, and is a native of Runcorn. Drscriptiou of JOHN BRYAN, Junr., a clerk, charged at Hanley with embezzling the sum of £ 35, the monies of Earl Granville : he is 24 years, of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fair sanguine complexion, grey eyes, rather small, brown hair, little bald on crown of head, light brown moustache, smart dapper appearance, and rather consequsntial walk ; he. has friends at Ashton- under- Lvne, Lancashire, and at Stoke, Staffordshire ; dressed in a suit of dark clothes, grey over- coat, and hard felt hat. • Information to bo given to Chief Constable Windle, Police Office, Hanley, Staffordshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. - Bow- street, Jan. 19. Description of a man charged at Selby with stealing a superfine black cloth Jacket and Vest, and a pair of black doeskin Trousers, on the 12 th instant: he is an umbrella mender, from 25 to 30 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, no whiskers, has lost index finger of right hand, cut marks ( supposed) on right side of neck, is a comic singer, and frequents public- houses ; dressed in a white smock, black trousers, and black billycock hat. Information to be given to Superintendent Gill, West Riding Constabulary, Selby.— Bow-^ reet, January 19, Absconded on the 10th instant, from the refreshment- bar, at Waterloo Railway Station, embezzling £ 40 : a man, 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, curly hair, dark moustache, high cheek bones, impediment in ' speech, rather round shoulders, in- kneed; dressed in dark clothes, and deerstalker hat.— Metropolitan Police, L Division, Janumy 19. Stolen from Henry Simonds at Chasetown, on the 13th instant, by ELAM PHIPPS, a lodger : one pair of Leggings, pair o£ Gloves, and a pocket Handkerchief. He is about 21 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, short light hair', fresh complexion, broad face, moderate build, and stoops - when walking; dressed in short black jacket and vest much worn, dark plaid cloth trousers, hard black billycock hat, covered with alpaca, arid works as a miner. Charged, on a warrant, with stealing £ 3 7s. 2d.: ALFRED HIGGS, 14 years of age, 5 feet high, slender build, light complexion, and rather round shoulders ; dressed in a dark grey mixture jacket and trousers, glengary cap, and elastic- side boots. He was taken from the Sea Boys' Home, Pitt street, Liverpool. Information to be given to Superintendent Egerton, County Hall, Birkenhead, or to Inspector Hindley, Sessions House, Egremont, Cheshire.— — Bow- street, January 17. Absconded! on the 4th instant, from Paxton- road, Chis- wick, embezzling £ 7 : FREDERICK POLLEN, 19 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown ( curly) hair, dark browii moustache and whiskers ( meeting under chin) ; dressed in blue pilot jacket, dark vest and trousers, deer stalker hat, and side- spring boots; is a brewer's drayman, and a native of Dorking. Warrant issued.— Metro- politan Police, T Division, January 17. Absconded from Bilston, about the 15th October last, charged with embezzling several sums of Money : WILLIAM ERNEST CATTELL, an unqualified medical assistant, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, rather sallow complexion-, dark hair and eyes, has a careworn aspect, and slightly stooping gait. Information to be given to Chiet Superintendent McCrea, Police Office, Bilston, Staffordshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bora- street, January 17. Stolen from an hotel at Luton, on the evening of the 13th instant, the following articles : a set of Billiard Balls, two white and one red ; a set of Pyramid Balls, nearly new, fifteen red and one white ; fifteen Pyramid Balls, all white ; and a set of Pool Balls, one white, one pink, one red, one yellow, one green, one browD, one blue, one spot white, one spot red, and one spot yellow. By a man, about 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark complexion, thia face, dark hair, slight dark moustace, and no whiskers; dressed in a black overcoat with black velvet collar, light mixture trousers, low shoes, and black hard billycock hat. Stolen from a bedroom at the ' Red Cow' public house, Market Harborough, early on the morning of the 12th inst. : a black cloth Coat, single- breasted, black cloth buttons, pocket at each side and small ticket pocket in front ; a blue twill double- breasted Vest, covered buttons, a pocket on each side and watch pocket. By a man, about 55 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, dark hair, dark whiskers, turning grey, slender make, long thin white face, and of respectable appearance ; dressed in long black cloth coat, black trousers, and high box hat. Information to be given to Superinten- dent Holloway, Constabulary Station, Market Harborough, Leicester.— Brno- street, January 17. Stolen in Ipswich on the 10th instant: a tenon Saw, and a mortise Guage, since recovered. By a man of the following description, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, auburn hair, pale face, very little whiskers ; dressed in a light brawn coat, soft billycock nat, and a long white apron ; he was accompanied by a female, between 30 and 40 years of age, about 5 feet high, very stout; dressed in a blf, ck cloth jacket, and black hat; was last seen going in the direction of Woodbridge, in the county of Suffolk. Information to be given to Head Constable Mason, Police Office, Town Hall Ipswich, Suffolk.— Bow- street, Janitary 17. Stolen on the 8th instant, from a dwelling- house, in Oldbury : a silver verge Watch, No. 2541 ; a pair of men's lace- up Boots, toe- capped and clumped. By EDMUND NORRIS, 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, auburn hair and whiskers, and grey eyes ; dressed in a blue pilot jacket, moleskin trousers, and a black velvet cap ; he is a labourer and states that he is a native of Wolverhampton. Informa- tion to be given to Superintendent Kemp, Halesowen, or to Police Sergeant Simmonds, Oldbury, Worcestershire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Jan. 17. Stolen on the lst instant, from the ' Antelope' hotel, Dorchester: a double- breasted drab Scotch tweed ulster Overcoat, larg8 check on it in darker shade of drab, lined with blue Petersham, drab bone buttons with four holes, and a belt. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Coward, Borough Police Office, Guildhall, Dorchester, Dorset. — Bow- street, January 17. and seems to be weak at the knees. Information to be given to Superintendent Holloway, Constabulary Station, Market Harborough, Leicester.— Bow- street, January 24. Description of G. C. RICHARDS, alias JONES, a travelling photographer, charged under a warrant at Rhymney Iron Works, 8th Dec,, 1875, with obtaining £ 2 12s. 6d., under false pretences, frorn/* fi, lchard Thompson : he is about 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 7 to 9 inches high, proportionate figure, fair complexion, dark brown hair, light brown whiskers, and long moustache; dressed in a brown cloth overcoat, and black bowler hat, of gentlemanly appearance, and good address ; he left Newport, Monmouth- shire, 19th Dec., 1875, with luggage labelled for Liverpool. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Abergavenny, or to Superintendent Fowler, Tredegar Iron Works, or to P. S. Richards, Rhymney Iron Works, Monmouthshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Jan. 24. Obtained on the 17th instant by fraud, from World's End livery stables, Chelsea : a black Mare, 15 hands 1 or 2 inches high ; new plain plated Harness ; and a stanhope Phaeton, painted black, picked out with tan, monogram on back, maker Hart, Bond- street. By a man, 49 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, fair complexion, dark whiskers and moustache ; dressed in pea jacket, d, ark trousers, and Oxford hat. Obtained 27s. by fraud, at Preston : a man, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slender, light complexion, no whiskers or moustache, bald head, cast in each eye ; dressed very lespectably, ring on each hand, sleeve links, gold studs, of very good address. Absconded from their bail, charged with fraud and conspiracy : WILLIAM HENRY WALTER, 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, sallow complexion, hazel eyes, slight black hair and moustache, and long thin face. EDWARD MURRAY, 30 years of age, 5 feet 5i inches high, fair complexion, hair ( curly), moustache, and whiskers light, brown eyes. Both dressed respectably, and are known to betting men. Warrant issued. Information to be given to Superintendent Williamson, Detective Department, Great Scotland - yard, London, S. W.— Metropolitan Police, A Division, January 21. Absconded from Tunbridge Wells, charged on a warrant with falsifying his accounts while acting as Goods Manager of the South Eastern Railway Company at Tunbridge Wells: THOMAS HODGES, about 43 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, fair complexion, dark brown hair and eyes, busky whiskers, stout figure, and upright.
