C. %* Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the Name is given, it is indispensably nedessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the Offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As no charge is made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, aiJ letters addressed to the Editor must he prepaid, otherwise tie insertion will not be made. The Names and Descriptions of Deserters from the Army, and of Absentees and Deserters from the Militia, should be forwarded on War Office Forms 88 and 88a, to the Editor, as above, for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE. MUEBEB AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING Description of five Irish labourers who absconded from the neighbourhood of Lymm, Cheshire, on the night of the 31et ultimo, and who are charged with wounding James Wibberley, a police constable : JAMES HEALEY, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches bigh, dark complexion, dark whiskers all round the chin, and rather stout build ; dressed in black billycock hat, grey frieze coat, tweed vest and trousers with coloured stripe down legs, and lace- up boots. MALACHI CONROY, 30 years of age, about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, little whiskers, and pockpitted; dressed in a billycock hat, dark cloth coat, and very clean cord trousers. PATRICK MORLEY, alias FISH, 28 years of age, fresh complexion, rather long features, aud thick lip3; dressed in cord jacket. JOHN MORLEY, alias FISH, about 24 years of age, 5 ft. 5 inches high, fresh complexion, very little whiskers, and rather stout built; drassed in light tweed coat, and dark cloth trousers. JAMES MORLEY, alias FISH, 18 years of age ; dressed in grey frieze coat. James Healey, Patrick, John, and James Morley came from Cloonfaughna, Knocks, county Mayo, Ireland. Johnson,' inside left leg, HOME AMD CATTLE STEALING; Supposed to have been stolen on the 6th instant, from a field at Bloxwich, near Walsall : a red roan Cart Horse, aged, 15 hands high, white star on forehead, off hind fetlock white, small white spot upon each side of head near the ears, and long maue and tail. Escaped on the 7th instant, about 11 a. m., from the county lock- up, at Wrexham, whe- re he was remanded, charged with stealing a Cow: EDWARD JACKSON, alias GEORGE FISHER, under Police Supervision, a native of Wrexham, 24 years of age, 5 feet 2 iuches high, very dark red hair, clean shaved, excepting a small sandy moustache ,- dressed in an old dark cloth shooting jacket, the pockets much torn, vest of same material, dirty moleskin trousers, lace- up boots, and cloth cap with peak, all in one piece, and clean white, shirt. By a stableman, called GEORDIE, about 30 years of age, short, about 9 stone weight, dark complexion, and full beard ; dressed in a dark cap with ear- laps, blue stable jacket, dark striped trousers, and old boots. Remanded at Romsey Police Station, until the 12ch instant, charged with larceny: JAMES SMITH, about 50 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, sallow complexion, black hair and moustache, has lost two joints from the right fore- finger, and the whole of his body is covered with spots of leprosy ; dressed iu hard felt hat, old brown topcoat, dark striped trousers, and lace- up boots. A. E.'; an unbleached calico Sheet, worn and seamed through centre; a red spotted cotton Handkerchief ; a boy's light flannel Shirt; a man's calico Shirt ; and some Bread, Bacon, and Butter. By a man who obtained lodgings at the house for the night, and left about 6 a m. ; he stated that he had worked in Bath as a painter, for the last 4 years, but was then working in Wells, which was false : he is about 22 yeara of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, proportionate made, fresh complexion, brown hair, and small moustache and whiskers ; dressed in a black frock coat, light brown trousers, and black stiff bowler hat ; he left a white pocket- handkerchief behind marked ' G. Stolen from a saddle room at Hartford, Cheshire, on the 5th instant: a silver lever Watch, maker Stewart, Liverpool, capped and jewelled iu 3 holes, with gold Albert Guard and Locket attached, with horse's head on the outside and photograph of a gentleman inside ; and £ 5 10s. in Gold. By JAMES HORSFALL, alias JAMES GLENNY, a tramping groom, well known in Manchester, 23 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, slender make, no whiskers or moustache, has a red mark about the size of a shilling near the left eye, and wears a silver hoop on left little finger, with a heart in the centre ( which he cannot get off) ; dressed in a black felt hat, dark coat and vest, and light trousers, with black stripes. He will probably seek work in hunting or racing stables._ £ 2 reward will be paid on recovery of the Watch and conviction of the offender. Description of WILLIAM ADAMS, charged ( on a warrant) with stealing at Stoke- on- Trent, on the 25th ultimo : one metal case keyless Geneva Watch ; one English lever Watch ; one American lever Watch ; five gold keeper Rings ; two Wedding Rings ; one Case of gold Studs ; two gold Albert Chains ; and two Plated ditto ditto ; the property of Messrs. Welsh and Hassell, his employers : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 4- or 5 inches high, dark complexion, slightly built, and blind of one eye. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Longden, Stoke- on- Trent, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November i2. Absconded from Shrewsbury, on the 3rd instant, charged with stealing a silver lever consular Watch, No. 9729 : a man who gave the name of WILLIAM THOMAS, supposed fictitious, of Queen- road, Manchester, about 35 years of age, 5 ft. 7 ins. high, dark hair and whiskers, sallow complexion, full face, stout build, light blue marks on forehead and bridge of nose, which he states were caused by a railway accident, upper front teeth prominent; dressed in dark brown tweed overcoat, and soft billycock hat; he represented himself to be a traveller for the firm of Wm. Giddy & Company, stationers, & c., works at New Wortley, Leeds. Information to be given to Head Constable Davies, Shrewsbury, who holds a warrant for his appxehension.— Bow- rtreet, November 12. Stolen from a cottage at Ombersley, near Worcester, cn the 3rd instant: between £ 4 and £ b in Gold and Silver Money, the property of Samuel Hodges. By a man, 22 years of age, 5 feet 3| inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, dark hazel eyes, pockmark on forehead, moles on right side of neck, and red birth mark on right arm; dressed in a new suit of dark cloth, monkey jacket, and hard round hat; he occasionally works as a labourer. Information to . be given to Deputy Chief Constable Phillips, County Police Office., Worcester.— Bow- street, November 10. Stolen from' a bed- room at the Hook and Hatchet beer- house, Stanstead, Kent, during the night of the 9th ultimo, the property of William Watts : one blue cloth Jacket with pockets on hips; one double- breasted Vest to match, with a pocket inside right breast; one pair dark mixture cloth Trousers, bell bottoms ; one white Cashmere Wrapper, with round red rings ou it. By ALFRED LETCHFORD, alias CHALKEY, a lodger, about 23 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, sallow complexion, small eyes, light hair, and email whiskers ; dressed in the stolen Clothes, brown cloth cap with flaps, and light lace- up shoes. And WILLIAM WHIFFIN, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, and dark complexion ; dressed in corded suit, billycock hat, heavy lace- up boots, and the stolen Wrapper. They are both natives of Kingsdown, near Dartford. Information to be given to Superintendent Hulse, Police Station, West Mailing, Kent, who holds the warrant for their apprehension— Bowrstreet, November 10. Stolen from a stable at Park Farm, hear Oswestry, during the night of the 2ud instant : a blue pilot Jacket, two outside and one inside pockets, lined with blue and red plaid flannel, torn'at back of collar, buttons deficient, and a butcher's Knife, brown handle, with three rive's. By an Irishman, from 45 to 50 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, pale complexion, grey hair and whiskers, and slightly pockmarked; dressed in brown and white striped cloth trousers, old dark brown jacket and vest, hard worn, old hard black hat, and a blue handkerchief round his waist. He is supposed to be known ia Wrexham, and to belong to the Welshpool Militia. He is a pensioner from the 24th Regt. of Foot, is likely to be found buying old rope, rags, & c., aud lodging at common lodging- houses, or sleeping in farm buildings, Information to be given to Superintendent Gougb, County Constabulary Office, Oswestry, Salop.— Bow- street., November 10, Absconded from Bolton, charged with stealing a large quantity of Leather : PATRICK FITZPATRICK, a shoe- maker, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, pale complexion, sandy hair and whiskers ; dressed in old black cloth shooting coat, old dirty tweed cloth trousers, hard black billycock hat, and old shoes ; he is a member of the shoe- maker's club, and has worked in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Glasgow, Oldham, Wakefield, and is likely to call at Wigan; he has been convicted at Sheffield of a similar offence ; he is accompanied by a woman who passes as his wife ; dressed in dirty old blue frock, and shawl over her head; she has with her a boy about 5 years of age. Infor- mation to be given to Chief Constable Beech, Bolton, Lan- cashire, who holds a warrant for his arrest.— Bow- street, November 10. Absconded from Horse Hay, in the parish of Dawley, on the 4th instant, charged with stealing from a dwelling- house at Horse Hay, a black< eloth Jacket and Vest ( recovered); a pair of elastie- side Boots; a Polonaise ; and two pairs of linen Cuffs. JULIA HURD, 22 years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches high, dark hair, cut short on the forehead, and fair complexion; dressed in black jacket, bl^ pk and green striped silk dress, plaid woollen shawl, black felt hat, with a jay's wing as feather, and elastic- side boots ; she is supposed to be in Birmingham. Information to be given to Chief Superin- tendent Richardson, Wellington, or to Sergeant Higgins, Dawlay, Salop, who holds a warrant for her apprehension.— Bow- street, November 10. Stolen during the, night of the 28th ultimo, from a stable at Lees Hill, Kingwater : a rough grey Overcoat, single- breasted, has six black bone buttons in front, aud a pocket on each side ; a check cotton Jacket; a white cotton Jacket; a red and white woollen Muffler ; a pair of lace- up watertight Boots ; and a pair of lace- np Boots, with three hooks at the top of lace- holes, and toe- capped^. Supposed by two tramps or cattle drovers, who were making their way towards Scot- land.
