Notice.— It is requested that all communications lor the purpose of obtaining or giving information respecting supposed offenders, or stolen property, may bear the Signature of the person requiring or sending the same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to the Editor, Police Court, Bow Street, London, W. C. Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the Name is given, it is indispensably necsssary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of tile Offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As no charge is made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, all Setters addressed to the Editor must he prepaid, otherwise tbe insertfon - will not be made. The Names and Descriptions of Deserters from the Army, and of Absentees and Deserters from the Militia, should be forwarded on War Office Eorms 88 and 88A, to the Editor, as above, for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE. INFORMATIONS. MTO. DE1 AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING Description of five Irish labourers who absconded from the neighbourhood of Lymm, Cheshire, on the night of the 31st ultimo, and who are charged with wounding James Wibberley, a police constable : JAMES HEALEY, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark complexion, dark whiskers all round the chin, and rather stout build ; dressed in black billycock hat, grey frieze coat, tweed vest and trousers with coloured stripe down legs, and lace- up boots. MALACHI CONROY, 30 years of age, about 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, little whiskers, and pockpitted; dressed in a billycock hat, dark cloth coat, and very clean cord trousers. PATRICK MORLEY, alias FISH, 28 years of age, fresh complexion, rather long features, and thick lips; dressed in cord jacket. JOHN MORLEY, alias FISH, about 24 years of age, 5 ft. 5 inches high, fresh complexion, very little whiskers, and rather stout built; dressed in light tweed coat, and dark cloth trousers JAMES MORLEY, alias FISH, 18 years of age ; dressed in grey frieze coat. James Healey, Patrick, John, and James Morley came from Cloonfaughna, Knocks, county Mayo, Ireland. Stolen during the night of the 10th instant, from Manor Farm, Kidbrook : a light bay cart Gelding, in low condition, three legs and face white, black mane and tail, saddle marked. — Metropolitan Police, B Division, November 15. Supposed to have been stolen on the 6th instant, from a field at Bloxwich, near Walsall: a red roan Cart Horse, aged, 15 hands high, white star on forehead, off hind fetlock white, small white spot upon each side of head near the ears, and long mane and tail. Information to be given to Chief Con- stable Cater, Walsall, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 12. Escaped on the 7th instant, about 11 a. m., from the county lock- up, at Wrexham, where he was remanded, charged with stealing a Cow: EDWARD JACKSON, alias GEORGE FISHER, under Police Supervision, a native of Wrexham, 24 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, very dark red hair, clean shaved, excepting a small sandy moustache ; dressed iu an old dark cloth shooting jacket, the pockets much torn, vest of same material, dirty moleskin trousers, lace up boots, and cloth cap with peak, all in one piece, and clean white shirt. Whoever will give such information as may lead to his appre- hension shall receive £ 5 reward. Information to be given to the Inspector, Wrexham Police Station.— Bow- street, Nov, 12. Stolen from a field near Winchester, on the night of the 12th ultimo .- a red and white Steer, marked ' W.' on the right hip. £ 3 reward will be paid for information that will lead to the recovery of the steer, and conviction of the offender or offenders, en application to Superintendent Campbell, Winchester.— Bow- street, November 10. Obtained by fraud on the 4th instant, from Sharpless Hall- street: a dark brown cob horse Pony, 14 hands high, long coat, and short tail; a Saddle with black stain on seat; and a snaffle Bridle, By a youth 17 years of age, 5 ft. 2 ins. higb, fair complexion, and light brown hair; dressed in blue overcoat, velvet collar, blue pilot jacket underneath, dark trouser; r\ nd vest, laced boots, and cheeseeuttei cap with gold band.— Metropolitan Police, S Division, November 10. W, R.' engraved on back of case. Also stolen from the person in Beveiley, on the 6th instant: a silver lever Watch, maker Smith, Middlesborough, yellow dial, with circle of gilt flowers between centre and numerals, steel hands, seconds, & c. Stolen by means of house breaking on the 7th instant, from the dwelling- house of William Dyball, at Ranworth, Norfolk, carter: a .£ 10 Note, and two £ 5 Notes, on Gurney's Bank ; £ i0 in Gold ; a silver Watch ; a sou'wester Hat; a grey calico Shirt; two blue Guernseys ; a pair of worsted Stockings ; and a pair of women's lace up leather Boots. Yarmouth, labourer, about 48 years of age, 5 feet 5J inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair and whiskers, turning grey, bald headed, grey eyes, round face, scar corner of right eye, crucifix, angel, trumpet, star and crescent tattooed on right upper arm, mermaid, Britannia, tross pipes, and glass on right arm, star and dots on back of right hand, ' G. Postle,'' M. Rook,' and other marks on left arm, and R. Johnson,' inside left leg, and is very deaf. Supposed to be wearing the stolen clothes. £ 5 reward will be paid for his apprehension and recovery of the property. He has often been convicted of felony in Great Yarmouth, Nsrwich, Scarborough, & c. Stolen between 6 and 8 p. m. on the 7th instant, from the residence of Mrs. Prichard, at Emscote, Warwick, by means of sKeleton keys : a gold Chain, with a hand, set with blue and red stones ; a pair of pearl Ear- rings ; a pair of gold filigree ditto and Brooch ; a gold Ear- ring with six turquoise ; a gold Ring, two small snakes, set with topaz ; a gold ditto, with hair ; a gold ditto, set with pearls and red stones, broken; a silver- mounted Smelling Bottle ; a Scarf Pin, crystal in silver ; a mourning gold Scarf ditto, broken ; three plain gold Rings ; a silver Pencil- case ; four silver Buttons ; and a few silver Coins. Stolen from a field at Mortan, during the night of the 10th instant: a bay- coloured carriage Horse, 16 hands 1 inch high, large body, recently fired on off fore fetlock, off hind fetlock white, white stripe down face, tail cut square, and rough coat. Information to be given to Superintendent True- CHARLES TRICKER, late of Bramhope, near Otley, farm labourer, is charged with violently assaulting and beat- ing a gamekeeper at Bramhope on the 3rd instant : he is 25 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, fresh long face, brown eyes, dark brown hair, and slight moustache ; dressed in a grey mixture suit, black billycock hat, and lace- up boots ; he is a native of Essex, and speaks with a south of England accent. Information to be given to Superintendent Croft, Couit House, Otley, Yorkshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension, and will pay £ 5 reward and all reasonable expenses on his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 15. Absconded on the 10th instant ( stealing two £ 100 Bank of Eugland Notes, one dated Leeds, January 18, 1874, No. Y | 46— 02959, the other dated Manchester, January 31, 1854, No. Y | 42- 38224 or 33802 ; a £ 50 Bank of England Note, dated Manchester, January 19, 1874, No. 78130 or 78131; and a Cross Cheque upon the Liverpool and District Bank, King- street, Manchester, for £ 104 7s. 6d., No. 889954, drawn by William Rumney, payable to John O'Neil) :— EDWARD P. CRAW, about 21 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, no whiskers, light complexion, dark hair, and small eyes ; dressed in a light drab coat and vest, dark drab trousers, and high hat with square top ; he was employed as a porter. £ 5 reward will be paid by the Nuneaton Cotton Spinning Company ( Limited) for his apprehension, and 5 per cent, on all monies recovered, provided he is apprehended within two months from llth inst. A warrant has been issued for the apprehension of ELIZABETH RUTLAND, charged with stealing a Dress and a Carpet ( recovered) : she is about 52 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, light brown hair, and very prominent scar on forehead ; dressed in a dark linsey dress, dark woollen shawl, black bonnet, and heavy boots. She is likely to be found at some low lodging- house. Information to be' given to Chief Constable Compton, Margate, Kent.— Bow- street, Nov. 15. Stolen during the night of the 10th instant, the property of Mr. Fudger, of Dallington : three calf- kid Skins ( since recovered). By WILLIAM GRIFFITHS, 26 years of age. 2 POLICE GAZETTE. He has a relative in Birmingham, supposed to have been a steward on board ship, and to be a native of London. Stolen from the workshop of a watchmaker and jeweller, at Warrington, on the 6th instant : a silver patent lever Watch, No. 1408, gold hands. By ROBERT SMITH, a journeyman watchmaker, he is 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, sallow complexion, very dark straight bair and mous- tache, and is a native of Great Yarmouth. Has worked in Liverpool, Runcorn, and Warrington. Information to be given to Chief Constable Hunt, Warrington, Lancaster.— Bow- street, November 12. They are both natives of Kingsdown, near Dartford. Remanded at Romsey Police Station, until the 12th instant, charged with larceny: JAMES SMITH, about 50 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, sallow complexion, black hair and moustache, has lost two joints from the. right fore- finger, and the whole of his body is covered with spots of leprosy ; dressed in hard felt hat, old brown topcoat, dark striped trousers, and lace- up boots. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Warrington, on the 10th instant: a short brown cloth Overcoat, plam collar, two pockets outside, lined with bltie woollen plaid ; a single- breasted blue cloth Vest, buttons up to throat; a pair of grey striped tweed Trousers; a pair of elastic- side Boots ; a new blue pilot Overcoat, with velvet collar; a pair of blue plaid cloth Trousers and Vest ;'• a new black cloth single- breasted Vest; a common Suit of grey mixture Clothes; much worn ; and an old coloured stuff Muffler, faded. Stolen from the dwelling- house of Henry Edwards, No. 59, St. Thomas- street, Wells, on the morning of the 10th instant: a small black leather travelling Bag ; a rose- wood Workbox; a sinall morocco Writing- case; a small mahogany medicine Chest, with two Bottles; a small American Timepiece, in black stand ; a glass Inkstand, with brass fittings ; a large household Dictionary, by Collins, and ten other Books; a large white Table- cloth, marked ' M. A. E.'; an unbleached calico Sheet, worn and seamed through centre; a red spotted cotton Handkerchief; a boy's light flannel Shirt; a man's calico Shirt ; and some Bread, Bacon, . and Butter. By a man who obtained lodgings at tbe house for the night, and left about 6 a m. ; he stated that he had worked in Bath as a painter, for the last 4 years, but was then working in Wells, which was false : he is about 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, proportionate made, fresh | complexion, brown hair, and Bniall moustache and whiskers ; dressed in a black frock coat, light brown trousers, and black stiff bowler hat; he left a white pocket- handkerchief behind marked ' G. M. Ston, 6.' Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Bisgood, Somerset Constabulary, Glaston- bury, or to Sergeant Vowles, Wells, Somerset.— Bow- street, November 12. Stolen from a saddle room at Hartford, Cheshire, on the 5th instant: a silver lever Watch, maker Stewart, Liverpool, capped and jewelled in 3 holes, with gold Albert Guard and Locket attached, with horse's head on the outside and photograph of a gentleman inside ; and £ b 10s. in Gold. By JAMES HORSFALL, alias JAMES GLENNY, a tramping groom, well known in Manchester, 23 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, slender make, no whiskers or moustache, has a red mark about the size of a shilling near the left eye, and wears a silver hoop on left little finger, with a heart in the centre ( which he cannot get off) ; dressed in a black felt hat, dark coat and vest, and light trousers, with black stripes. He • will probably seek work in hunting or racing stables. £ 2 reward will be paid on recovery of the Watch and conviction of the offender. Information to be given to Superintendent Rowbottom, Middlewich, or to Inspector Dutton, Northwich, Cheshire, who hold? a warrant for his apprehension,— Bow- Street, November 15}, Description of WILLIAM ADAMS, charged ( on a • warrant) with stealing at Stoke- on- Trent, on the 25th ultimo : one metal case keyless Geneva Watch ; one English lever Watch ; one American lever Watch ; five gold keeper Rings ; two Wedding Rings ; one Case of gold Studs ; two gold Albert Chains ; and two Plated ditto ditto ; the property of Messrs. Welsh and Hassell, his employers ; about 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, dark complexion, slightly built, and blind of one eye. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Longden, Stoke- on- Trent, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 12. Absconded from Shrewsbury, on the 3rd instant, charged with stealing a silver lever consular Watch, No. 9729 : a man who gave the name of WILLIAM THOMAS, supposed fictitious, of Queen- road, Manchester, about 35 years of age, 5 ft. 7 ins. high, dark hair and whiskers, sallow complexion, full face, stout build, light blue marks on forehead and bridge of nose, which he states were caused hy a railway accident, upper front teeth prominent; dressed in dark brown tweed overcoat, and soft billycock hat; he represented himself to be a traveller for the firm of Wm. Giddy & Company, stationers, & c., works at New Wortley, Leeds. Information to be given to Head Constable Davies, Shrewsbury, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- Hreet, November 12. Stolen from a cottage at Ombersley, near Worcester, on the 3rd instant: between £ 4 and £ 5 in Gold and Silver Money, the property of Samuel Hodges. By a man, 22 years of age, 5 feet 3^ inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, dark hazel eyes, pockmark on forehead, moles on right side of neck, and red birth mark on right arm; dressed in a new suit of dark cloth, monkey jacket, and hard round hat; he occasionally works as a labourer.
