Scanlon, Preston,' marked on the works. Infor- mation to he given to Head Constable Oglethorpe, Borough Police, Preston, Lancashire.— Bow- street, July 28. Absconded from Ipswich, on the 22nd instant, charged with entering warehouses in the occupation of Messrs. Harrison and Gislingham, upholsterers, & c., and stealing therein divers Articles of valuable property ( recovered) : JAMES BROWN, 33 years of age, 5 feet 4| inches high, swarthy complexion, round visage, dark hair and whiskers, rather thick lips, proportionate build, has a mole between his shoulders, four scars on left arm, and scar on right leg, and is rather nervous when spoken to; dressed when last seen in brown overcoat, velvet collar, black cloth trousers, and soft felt hat. He has been driving a cab in Ipswich, and has also worked with bricklayers, but will probably seek employment in tbe former capacity. Information to be given to Head Constable Mason, Police Office, Town Hall, Ipswich, who holds a warrant for his apprehension, and by whom a reward of two guineas will be paid.— Boxn- street, July 28. Absconded, charged with wounding and inflicting grievous bodily harm upon Police Constable Richard C& shforel, in the execution of his duty.. at. Wingham, on the 24th inst. : WILLIAM HUBAND 18 years of age, 5 feet 5£ inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes, and a native of Evesham, Worcester. And WILLIAM GREEN, 22 years of age, 5 feet 6f ins. Absconded from Lineal, parish of Ellesmere, charged with unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm upon James Evans, of Hampton Bank, Ellesmere, on the night of the 24th instant: HENRY EVANS, alias HINES, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, sandy hair and whiskers, awkward gait, and turns his feet out very much ; and RICHARD THOMAS, about 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, brown hair, no whiskers, and has a lump over the left eye ; they are both dressed in cotton cord Between 1 and 4 p. m. on the 12 th instant, the house of James Ratcliffe, Denstone- lane, Alton, was entered by means of skeleton keys, and thirty Sovereigns and an old leather Parse stolen from a box in the bedroom. Information to he given to Superintendent Williams, Leek, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, July 21. Between 6 p. m. on the 15th and 8 a. m. on the 18th inst., trousers, black coats and vests, and black billycock hats; the house of Thomas Phillips in the village of Madiey, was each carried a bundle. Information to be given to Superin- broken and entered, and stolen therein : a Suit of Clothes - —( since recovered). By a man, who had the appearance of a stableman or colt breaker, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 iuches high, and dressed in a dark suit, and carried a grey overcoat on his atm. Information to be given to the Superin- tendent Cope, Shire Hall, Hereford.— Bow- street, July 21. tendent Gough, Oswestry, or to Sergeant Gough, Ellesmere, Salop, who hold warrants for their apprehension.— Bow- st., July 28. The Body of Edward Howell, aged 13 years, was found in the Anfield Cemetery, Walton, on the 19th ultimo, and a verdict of ' Wilful murder' returned at the coroner's inquest against some person or persons unknown. Her Majesty's Government offer a reward of .£ 100 to any person • who will give such information aud evidence as shall bad to the discovery aud conviction of the murderer or murderers, and Mr. Secretary Cross will advise the grant of Her Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the murder, who will give such evidence as shall lead to a like Jesuit. Information to be given to Superintendent Martin, County Police Station, Old Swan, near Liverpool.— Bow- street, July 26. Absconded, charged with cutting and wounding police constable William H. Robinson, in the execution of hi3 duty at Headley Hill : BENJAMIN ALLISON, 36 years of age, 5 feet 10 iuches high, fresh complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, cut short, no whiskers, full face, very stout figure, a native of West Auck- land, a miner and married ; has two small blue marks on left temple, mole on left side of neck, a small blue mark between the eyes, and a small scar below left knee. JOHN CUNNINGHAM, 20 years of age, 5 ft. 9 or 10 ins. high, light brown hair, cut short, fair complexion, long face, no whiskers, stout build, a native of Ireland, and a miner. PETER CUNNINGHAM, 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, broad face, brown hair cut short, a native of Ireland, and a miner. JAMES DOYLE, 24 or 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 ins. high, dark complexion and moustache, no whiskers, dark hair, Jcoarst features, a Dative of Ireland, and a miner. And TERRENCE DOYLE, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, brown hair, no whiskers, large mouth, a native of Ireland, and a miner. Information to be given to Superintendent Oliver, Consett, Durham, who holds warrants for their apprehension.— Bow- street, July 21. Description of GEORGE STRONNELLS, a shoemaker, charged with breaking into the premises of Messrs. Reynolds, shoe manufacturers, Chesham. on the morning of the Gth inst., and stealing several pairs of Boots, since recovered ; he was discharged on licence on the 12th ultimo : he is 44 years of age, 5 feet 5j inches high, sallow complexion, brown hair, bald top of head, light hazel eyes, cut on forehead, burn on temple, moles ou each cheek, moles and scars on each arm, sear on left thumb, and has lost nearly all the upper teeth ; dressed in dark clothes, and black hard felt hat; his photo- graph can be seen on application. Information to be given to Inspector Moore, Police Station, Chesham, Bucks, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 19. Description of a man charged ( with two other men in custody) with theft by housebreaking at Kingswell, Fenwick, Ayrshire, N. B. on the 6th iustant: about 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches higb, iuddy complexion and sunburnt, dark hair, no whiskers, and ordinary figure ; dressed in dark trousers and vest, brown tweed coat, ( faded and marked with grease), and Balmoral cap. Speaks with a broad Irish accent, gives the name of JOSEPH STEWART, and has the appearance of an iron moulder or engineering workman, on tramp. He has been traced southwards. Information to be be given to Superintendent Menzies, County Constabulary. Kilmarnock.— Bow- street, July 16. brown cloth coat, two inside pockets in skirts, one inside left breast, two outside pockets, and a small ticket pocket in right side; is fond of singing in public- houses, is a good dancer, and has lately been travelling with a peep- show ; speaks with an Irish accent, knows Nottingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, & c., and speaks of having been to sea. He was seen, with the horse on the morning of the 18th instant near Nottingham, going towards Loughborough. .£ 10 reward will be paid on recovery of the Horse and conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Wynne, Spittlegate, Lincolnshire.— Bow- st., July 28. Supposed to have been stolen from a field, at Bentley* between the 13th and 14th instant: a dark roan Horse, about 15 hands high, in good condition, right hind foot white, the property of Mr. Wm. Beaman. Information to be given to Inspector Gasson, Police Office, Willenhall, Staffordshire.— — Bow- street, July 23. Description of two Gipsies who frequent Epping Forest, charged with stealing two Horses from Orton Longville on the 10th inst. ( since recovered near Woodford, Essex): one man is about 21 years of age, 5 feet high, light whiskers, light brown hair, grey eyes, stout build, sunburnt, tattooed on one arm A B, walks with a short quick step; dressed in a sleeved waistcoat, twill sleeves tight fitting, cotton cord trousers, two or three rows of machine stiching round the bottom, yellow and blue silk neckerchief, and dark cloth cap ; the other map. is about 20 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, large nose, and slight build, dark complexion, black hair, no whiskers, tattooed on one arm T H, walks terect; dressed in a long blue pilot jacket, red neckerchief, black- billycock hat. These men were in company with two women dressed in shepherd's plaid shawls, and they left the men about a mc^ th ago. A rev. ard of £ 2 10 for each offender will be paid ; o any persons who shall give such information as shall lead to their apprehension. Information to be given to Superintendent Barker, Norman Cross, Peterborough.— Bow- street, July, 23. Description of JOHN LOWE, charged with stealing two Sheep ( recovered) at Great ffiollright on tho 7th . astant : about 40 years of age 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion, hair, and whiskers, high cheek bones, slightly made, and very talkative when in drink ; dressed in a black cloth coat and. trousers, light tweed vest, white calico shirt, black satin scarf with green spots, black billycock hat, aud new lace- up boots or shoes. Attends cattle markets and fairs as a drover, and cuts ash sticks which he offers for sale in the fairs, and is well known at Cirencester and Gloucester. Information to be given to Superintendent Lakin, County Police Station, Chip-, ping Norton, Oxon, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. Bow- street, July IS. Remanded at Stony Stratford Police Station till the 22ndinstant, charged with horse stealing : ALFRED BELL, of the Greyhound IDD, 72, Bali's Pond- road, London, 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, hazel eyes, light brown hair, and proportionate build ; dressed iu a blue serge suit, black round hat, and low. shoes; he has lately been working on the Grand Junction Canal with the steam tug Pioneer.' The horse he is charged with stealing he hired and did not return it. Information to be given to Inspector Webb, Police Station, Stony Stafford, Bucks.— Bow- street, July 19. Found in the possession of a man named WILLIAM SUTTON, a horse coper, who is remanded and charged with horse stealing at South Weald, near Brentwood, on the night of the 4th instant, and supposed to have been stolen : a dark bay Mare, aged, about 15 hands high, white star on forehead, off hind foot white, short tail cut square, and low in condi- tion. He states that he bought the Mare at Bow Common on the 4th instant. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Bridges, Brentwood, or to Inspector Pepper, Romford, Essex.-— Bow- street, July 16. Stolen during the night] of the 13th instant, fromMerton: a dark bay Horse, aged, 15^ hands high, black points, star on forehead, with Bridle and Bearing Rein, L. B. B. in monogram on blinkers ; also a dark bay Mare, aged, one hind foot white, star on forehead, and blaek points.— Metropolitan Police, V Division, July 16. HOSSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen from a field on the night of the 17th instant: bay nag Horse, 5 years old, 14 hands 2 oi 3 inches high, has three white heels ( two behind), turus toes of forefeet out. cuts behind, short tail, and is low in the rump. By a man about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, whiskers shaved off, has a scar about 2 inches long under right jaw, and a tuft of dark brown hair on chin ; dressed in a light LAECEHY AID EMBEZZLEMENT. Absconded from the borough of Middlesbrough, on the 24th instant, charged with stealing a silver lever Watch, No. 55897, ' P. Kelledy' engraved on inner case; and had attached a long Gold Guard with round and square links. By a man who lodged at the same house, named JAMES McCUMMISKY, alias JAMES McCLUSKIE, a tailor, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches, stout make, sallow complexion, black hair, thin on top of head, whiskers down side of face, cut out on chin, and a native of Ireland; dressed in ' Wck coat, dark tweed trousers, black felt hat, elastic- side boots. Information to be given to Chief Constable Saggerson, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, who holds a warrant for his appre- hension.— Bow- street, July 28. GEORGE alias RTCHARD GORDON ( described in the Police Gazette of the 10th May last, charged at Coventry with stealing Clothing, & c., from hotels) has been apprehended and remanded until the 31st instant. In his possession was found a blue twilled cloth walking Coat, of superior material and manufacture, with black silk lining, hook and eye at waist,, and two pieces of elastic to hold flowers at the back of. top button hole. Information to be giveu to Head Con stable 2 POLICE GAZETTE. July 28 Norris, Police Office, Coventry, Warwickshire.— Bou- sireet, July 28. Stolen from a money drawer in a shop at Bolton, on the 21st instant: £ 10 in Gold and Silver. By a man about 20 years of age, who had lodged at the house a short time ; 5 feet 6 inches high, rather stoutly built and long features, light hair, and no whiskers or moustache; dressed in old dark grey shooting coat, old dirty moleskin trousers, cloth cap with peak, and heavy clogs. He stated that he had been residing at Southport, jobbing about, and occasionally assisting the horse drivers. Stolen from another money drawer in Bolton, on the night of the 25th instant: about £ 12 in Gold and Silver. By a youth who formerly resided at the place, and assisted in the shop as a greengrocer, & c.; about 17 years of age, about 5 ft. high, short light hair, pale complexion, proportionate make, and may be dressed in black clothes. He has committed similar offences elsewhere, and spent the money at Blackpool, Southport, & c. Also stolen on the 21st instant : a silver lever Watch, maker Wm. Agar, Bury, No. 102, engine- turned cases, and much worn. .- on. Information to be given to Chief Constable Beech, Bolton. Lancashire.— Bow- street, July 28. lst instant: he is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, light brown hair, rather sandy whiskers, high cheek- bones, and sunken cheeks ; dressed in a light suit, light billy- the sinews of which are so contracted that he can only place the toe on the ground ; dressed in a black felt hat, dark monkey jacket, and light coloured trousers ; he is a shoe- cock hat, aDkle shoes, and red and black check woollen shirt, j maker, and a native of Stoke- by- Nayland, Suffolk. Information to be given to Superintendent Chapman, Box- ford, Suffolk, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 26. Absconded on the 20th instant, from New Quebec- street, embezzling £ 5 5s. 4d.: a man, 43 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair and whiskers, and slight build ; dress in black coat, light grey overcoat, and high black hat.— Metropolitan Police, D Division, July 28. Description of WILLIAM GARLAND, alias WM. DIXON, charged with stealing £ 3 from his lodgings at New Brighton, on the 18th instant: 19 or 20 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fresh complexion, red hair, blue eyes, sunburnt, very straight, and good figure; dressed in dark coat and vest, dark tweed trousers, cap with French peak, and lace- up boots ; he will probably seek employment as an assistant photographer ; he talked about St. Bees, Cumberland, and he has also been in Woolwich. Information to be given to Superintendent Egerton, County Police Station, Abbey- street, Birkenhead, or to Inspector Hindley, Sessions House, Egremont, Cheshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 26. Absconded from Easirgton, on the 19th instant, charged with stealing £ 3 from his lodgings : WILLIAM WALKER, a tramping shoemaker, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, slender make, has a large red birth mark on right cheek, extending to his neck, and is a native of Malton, Yorkshire ; dressed in a blue pilot jacket, dark vest, grey mixture trousers, felt hat, elastic- side boots, and black and white necktie. Information to be given to Superintendent Scott, Police Station, Castle Eden, Durham.— Bow- street, July 26. Charged with stealing twenty- four sash Weights, recovered; a bricklayer's labourer, 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, proportionate build, sallow complexion, thick lips, slight brown whiskers, and walks lame of right foot; dressed in an old grey coat, dirty fustian trousers, laced boots, and woollen Scotch cap, with a peak. Informa- tion to be given to Chief Constable Saggerson, Middiesboro', Yorkshire.— Bow- street, July 26. Description of WILLIAM ISHERWOOD, a tramping watchmaker and native of Bolton, charged with stealing a Watch and the Movements of a " Watch, which'• was entrusted to him to be cleaned and repaired; about 40 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches hign, slightly pockpitted, and red nose and face. He wears a long brown tweed coat and billycock hat, and is supposed to have gone to Liverpool. Information to be given to Superintendent Owen, Holyhead, Anglesey.— Bow- street, July 26. Stolen from a dwelling- house in Middlesborough, about 7 a. m. on the 24th inst. : a silver lever Watch, ' P. Kelledy' engraved outside of inner case, had a long gold neck Chain attached, with round and square links. By a man, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, rather stout build, dark • whiskers, a tailor, and a native of Ireland ; dressed in black cloth cutaway coat, dark tweed trousers, black felt billycock hat, and elastic- side boots, one of which has a hole in the side. Information to be given to Chief Constable Saggerson, Middlesborough, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, July 26. Description of GEORGE WRIGGLESWORTH, who is charged with embezzlement: about 35 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches higb, medium build, fresh complexion, thin dark hair, and slight dark whiskers ; generally wears a frock coat and a silk hat; he is a commercial traveller. Informa- tion to be £, iven to Chief Constable Henderson, Police Office, Town Hall, Leeds, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, July 23. Stolen from a dwelling- house in Stalybridge, on the 20th instant: a leather Purse, containing two Sovereigns and Half- sovereign. By JAMES WRIGHT, a carpenter, native of Leicester, 20 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, light hair and complexion, pug nose; dressed in black cloth vest and trousers, and grey tweed monkey jacket. Information to be given to Chief Constable Chadwick, Stalybridge, Lan- cashire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 23. Stolen from a bedroom at Lisle Castle Inn, Chalk, Kent: ajpair of Trousers and Yest ( recovered); a pair of grey cotton Socks, red ring round tops; a coloured woollen Shirt; a white cotton Handkerchief, blue stripe round border ; a blue Scarf; and a blue and white striped Necktie. By a man ( who lodged at the house), about 26 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, dark complexion, and black whiskers and moustache; dressed in a dark coat and vest, dark striped trousers, black felt hat, and lace- up shoes. Information to be given to Super- intendent Coppinger, Kent Constabulary, Chatham.— Bow- street, July 19. Description of THOMAS OLIVER EWINGS, alias HARDY, alias JONEWSON, who is charged with stealing £ 1 4s. from his lodgings : he is a tramping tailor and native of Oakham, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, light hair, combed back behind the ears, light moustache and small light whiskers, pale complexion, and feminine voice ; dressed in Boft felt hat, black cloth coat, trimmed with black silk braid, double- breasted black cloth vest, dark grey trousers, worn at bottoms, and side- spring boots, with false button fronts. He has been convicted of similar charges at Oakham, London, Leicester, and Derbyshire. Information to be given to Superintendent Palmer, Kenilworth, Warwick- shire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 19. Description of JAMES REED, a native of Isleham, Cambridgeshire, charged on a warrant with stealing thirty- four Fleeces of Wool, the property of Mr. George Skelton, of all appealed to be new ; he carried a watch in his waistcoat pocket, with an imitation gold albert chain, also a long new unbleached calico Bag, containing wearing apparel. He was traced from March to York, where he was convicted of felony. Has been for several years at Middlesborough, Stockton, and other towns in the north, employed as a labourer in repairing telegraph wires, & c, aud it is supposed that he will seek employment in the same capacity. Information to be given to Inspector Qrawford, Holbeach, or to Sergeant Biggadike, Long Suttoil, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, July 19. CATHERINE COYLE, late of Wrexham, was com- mitted for trial at the Denbighshire Quarter Sessions held on the lst instant, for larceny ; she was admitted to bail, but did not surrender, and a true bill having been found against her, her bail was estreated, and a bench warrant was issued for her apprehension : she is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stoutly built, swarthy complexion, auburn hair tinged with grey, and face slightly pockmarked. She travels with a man about 40 years of age, light complexion, light hair, and sandy tuft on chin ; he hawks oranges, nuts, and occasionally fish, attending country fairs and markets. The woman stated that she was a native of Hull, and that she left there about six months ago. Charged with stealing four Sheep Skins ( recovered) at Glynfach, Llanigon, Breconshire, on the 20th ultimo : THOMAS KENT, a maker and hawker of cabbage nets at fairs and markets, about 26 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, light brown hair, blue eyes, small tuft of hair on chin, very much sunburnt, looks sickly and is hollow in the cheeks, has a sluggish gait, and speaks with a Stafford- shire accent; supposed dressed in an old cloth monkey jacket or slop, corduroy or fustian trousers, and dark bowler hat. His wife is now employed as a picker in some gardens near London ; he received a letter from her to say she will leave about the third week in August, and will meet him to go to pick hops ( supposed) in Herefordshire. His wife obtained a pedlar's certificate, in September, 1874, for the city of Hereford, and is endorsed for the county of Hereford, but the man has now got the certificate in his possession. Description of THOMAS PAGE and RUTH PAGE, charged ( with JESSE PAGE MERYCK, who is in custody), with conspiring and defrauding a. lady named Westbrook of £ 911, at Knowle, in the county of Warwick : Thomas Page is from 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, black hair and bushy whiskers turning grey, rather ruddy face, square build, walks very erect, is well educated, and of gentlemanly appearance ; wears a gold ring on each little finger, one with a green stone, and the other a red one, also a gold watch and albert chain, the watch bears the following inscription : ' Presented to Mr. Arthur by a few of his commercial friends, August lst, 1865.' Page and the woman Ruth Page, who passes as his wife, have been living at Broadstairs up to the lst instant, prior to that at Southsea ; he has been employed at the Educational Department, Whitehall. Ruth Page is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, thin figure, very dark complexion, and black hair, worn low on the forehead and very frizzy. On the 9th instant, a man of the following description, presented himself at Messrs. Gurney's Bank, Lynn, and proposed to open an account with them, stating he was an agent of Mr. Webster, the great contractor, of London, and was going to reside in Lynn several months, for the purpose of buying timber, & c. He deposited a cheque for £ 75 on the Imperial Bank, London, payable to self, and signed W. Howard. He received from Messrs. Gurney and Co., pass and cheque books, and drew £ 20 on account; the £ 75 cheque on being sent to the Imperial Bank was returned dishonoured. On the 14th instant, he endeavoured to effect a similar fraud on the National Provincial Bank, Wisbech by tendering a cheque for £ 75 on Messrs. Gurney. She was convicted of larceny at Hereford City Sessions on the 17th October, 1859, and imprisoned for 4 months hard labour had been previously imprisoned in Worcester City Prison for larceny, and it is supposed she has been convicted at Canter- bury and other places since. No. 9973 : JAMES BETTON, alias SIMEON HANKS, who is subject to two years' police supervision, and has failed to report himself at Leicester, as required by the Prevention of Crimes' Act, 1871 ; he is a bricklayer, 24 years of age, 5 feet 5| inches high, light brown hair, scar on forehead and left of neck ; was convicted at Mid- dlesex Sessions on the 8th February, 1869, of housebreaking, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude ; he was again con- victed at Leicester Sessions on tbe 21st May, 1874, of larceny, and sentenced to 12 months' hard labour, and 2 years police supervision. Description of two men who have failed to report them- selves as required by the Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871 : JAMES HUNT, Reg. No. H. 8785, 31 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, and light brown hair, has a woman and. dancing girl, tattoed on right arm, and banners on both POLICE PROPERTY FOUND BY OFFICERS. Found on the 5th instant, in the possession of a prisoner : a set of pony Harness, brass mounted, galvanized chains at ends of traces ; a diamond Ring, single stone, claw setting ; a Diamond, not set ; a gold f- plate lever Watch, engine- turned case, maker James Murray, Royal Exchange, London, . which is a forgery, ' No. 31041' on works, ' 88982' inside se ; and a pair of gold Ear- rings, composed of two spade guineas and two 5- franc pieces ; also a brown mare Pony, 12 hands high, rising 5 years old, with a few white hairs on the forehead and back, blind of near eye, and ' goose rumped.' — Metropolitan Police, M Division, July 26. Found at 4 a. m. on the 15th instant, and supposed to have been stolen : a blue twill cloth shooting Jacket and Vest, with ' J. Dean in, tailor and draper, Stafl'ord,' on the loop strap of the collar of the coat, in the possession of a tramp ; he is about 20 years of age, 5 feet high, fresh com- pletion, long thin face, very slender build ; dressed in an old arms. He was convicted at Beverley in October, 1874, and sentenced to 9 months imprisonment, and 3 years police supervision, discharged July 19th, 1875. ALFRED WALLACE, alias DONATI PERELLI, Reg. No. P 1382, 19 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, flaxen hair, mole on middle of his back, aid cut between the lst and 2nd fingers of right hand ; was convicted at Northallerton in October, 1874, and sentenced to nine months imprisonment and three years police supeivision; was discharged on 19th of July, 1875. PALMER, a convict license holder, No. 4732, who has failed to report himself at Shoreham, as required by the Prevention of Crimes' Act, 1871 ; 71 years of age, 5 feet 4£ inches high, ruddy complexion, grey hair, brown eyes, scar on centre of forehead, and ruptured in the right groin. He was convicted at Maidstone on the 13th March, 1871, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude for uttering Counterfeit Coin at Bromley, and was discharged from Woking Prison on the 6th instant. No. 134 P, subject to police supervision, who has left Bidford without notifying to the police his intention of so doing: 39 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, brown hair, dark complexion, mole on stomach and back of neck. No. B 7679, subject to police supervision, who has pa[ re; to report himself as required by the Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871 ; 20 years of age, 5 feet 7J inches high, dark brown hair, no whiskers or beard, a running sore on left thigh, a cross on left arm, and weak eyes. He was convicted at Plymouth 13th May, 1872, of larceny, and also at Southampton on the 27th December, 1872. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Wynne, Spittlegate, Lincolnshire.— Bow- st., July 23. Description of No. 1380: WILLIAM ALLEN, who has left Portsmouth, without having reported his intention of doing so, contrary to the Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871 ; about 50 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, brown hair, blue eyes, freah complexion, three scars on left side of nose, and a large ditto on right forearm. He is a carpenter and a native of Ride, Isle of Wight. He was sentenced to 12 months' hard labour, and 7 years police supervision, at Portsmouth, on the 18th October, 1872. No. B 5625 : HENRY BARBER, who is subject to police supervision, and has failed to report himself at Shipley, the place of his destination, after being liberated from the Wakefield Gaol on the 3rd instant; 32 yrs. of age, 5 feet inches high, lair complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, slightly pockpitted, and cut on nose and left hand; was sentenced to three months for larceny, at Halifax, on the 13th July, 1869, also to eighteen months imprisonment for larceny, Leeds Sessions, 3ri July, 1874, Information to ba given at the Superintendent's Office, Bradford, Yorkshire.-— — Bow- street, July 23. Description of THOMAS SUTCLIFF, under police supervision, who has failed to report himself as required by the Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871; about 39 yeais of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, sandy hair, and has a scar on the fore- head. He was convicted of larceny at the Salford Sessions on the 2nd January, 1874, and sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment and 5 years police supervision.
