Reynolds, shoe manufacturers, Chesham. on the morningof the 6tti iust., and stealing several pairs of Boots, since recovered ; he was discharged on licence on the 12th ultimo : he is 44 years of age, 5 feet 5£ inches high, sallow complexion, brown hair, bald top of head, light hazel eyes, cut on forehead, burn on temple, moles Dn each cheek, moles and scars ou each arm, scar on left thumb, and has lost nearly all the upper teeth ; dressed in dark clothes, and black hard felt hat; liis photo- graph can be seen on application. Description of a man charged ( with two other men in custody) with theft by housebreaking at Kingswell, Fenwick, Ayrshire, N. B. on the 6th instant: about 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, ruddy complexion and sunburnt, dark hair, no whiskers, and ordinary figure ; dressed in - dark trousers aud vest, brown tweed coat, ( faded and marked with grease), and Balmoral cap. Speaks with a broad Irish accent, gives the name of JOSEPH STEWART, aud lia3 the appearance of an iron moulder or engineering workman, ou tramp. He has been traced southwards. Attends cattle markets aud fairs as a drover, and cuts ash sticks which he offers for sale in the fairs, and is well known at Cirencester and Gloucester. Remanded at Stony Stratford Police Station till the 22ud instant, charged with horse stealing : ALFRED BELL, of the Greyhound IUD,- 72, Ball's Pond road, London, 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, hazel eyes, light brown hair, and proportionate build ; dressed in a blue serge suit, black round hat, and low shoe3; he has lately been working on the Grand Junction Canal with, the steam tug ' Pioneer.' The horse he is charged with stealing he hired and did not return it. Information to be given to Inspector Webb, Police Station, Stony Statford, Bucks.— Bow- street, July 19. Found in the possession of a man named WILLIAM SUTTON, a horse coper, who is remanded and charged with horse stealing at South Weald, near Brentwood, on the night of the 4th instaut, and supposed to have been stolen : a dark bay Mare, aged, about 15 hands high, white star on forehead, off hind foot white, short tail cut square, and low in condi- tion. Description of THOMAS OLIVER EWINGS, alias HARDY, alias JONEWSON, who is charged with stealing £ 1 4<>. from his lodgings : he ia a tramping tailor aud native of Oakham, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, light hair, combed back behind the ears, light moustache and small light whiskers, pale complexion, and feminine voice ; dressed in soft felt hat, black cloth coat, trimmed with black silk braid, double- breasted black cloth vest, dark grey trousers, worn at bottoms, and side- spring boots, with false button fronts. He has been convicted of similar charges at Oakham, Loudon, Leicester, and Derbyshire. Information to be given to Superintendent Palmer, Kenilworth, Warwick- shire, who holds a waTaut for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 19. Description of JAMES REED, a native of Isleham, Cambridgeshire, charged on a warrant with stealing thirty- four Fleeces of Wool, the property of Mr. George Skelton, of Lutton Marsh, which were disposed of at Lynn about the 1st instant: he is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, light brown hair, rather sandy whiskers, high cheek- bones, and sunken cheeks ; dressed in a light suit, light billy- cock hat, ankle shoes, and red and black check woollen shirt, all appealed to be new ; he carried a watch in his waistcoat pocket, with an imitation gold albert chain, also a long new unbleached calico Bag, containing wearing apparel. He was traced from March to York, where he was convicted of felony. Has been for several years at Middlesborough, Stockton, and other towns in the north, employed as a labourer in repairing telegraph wires, & c, and it is supposed that he will seek employment in the same capacity, lnfotmation to be given to Inspector Crawford, Holbeacb, or to Sergeant Biggadike, Long Sutton, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, July 19. t' Stolen from a barn in Wisbeach, on the 16th ultimo: six Fleeces of Wool, hich were sold the samer^ day at Boston, at a public- house, by a man who gave the name of JAMES REED, 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh com- plexion, brown hair, very little whiskers, full face, and cheeks rather sunken ; dressed when he sold the wool in a velveteen coat ( he also had a rust- colour cloth monkey coat), cotton cord trousers, rough cap with straight peak ; he was seen on the 7th inst., dressed in light clothes. Information to be given to Head Constable Sharpe, Borough Police, Wisbeach, Lin- colnshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Botv- Stnet, July 19. Stolen from a lodging- house at New Brighton, on the 10th instant : a drab rep Dress, trimmed with brown, and waistbelt left behind. By a servant girl, 19 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, dark brown hair, and fresh com- plexion. She is supposed to be at Southport, or some bathing place, wearing the stolen dress, and left her skirt behind. She also engaged apartments for a week and left them unpaid. Information to be given to Superintendent Egerton, County Police, Abby- street, Birkenhead, or to inspector Hindler, Sessions House, Egremont, Cheshire.— Bow- street, July 19. Stolen, on the 9th inst., frcm 34, Albert- street: a brown sealskin Jacket, worn ; a black French merino Cape, trimmed Yak lace and bugles ; a blue waterproof Cloak ; a silk Shirt, peach colour; a silk Umbrella, ivory handle, let in with pearls ; a black velvet sleeveless Jacket, trimmed with Yak lace ; a black and blue silk net Bonnet ; a brown leather lug? age Strap ; a black quilted . alpaca Skirt; two pairs of cream coloured Balbriggan Stockings ( women's); & c. : by a woman, 21 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, pimpled, light hair, blue eyes, and stout build; supposed dressed in stolen clothes, and to have gone to Soham, Cambs. She has travelled in the provinces with a music hall singer. — Metropolitan Police, S Division, July 1G. CATHERINE COYLE, late of Wrexham, was com- mitted for trial at the Denbighshire Quarter Sessions held on the 1st instant, for larceny ; she was admitted to bail, but did not surrender, and a true bill having been found against her, her bail was estreated, and a bench warrant was issued for her apprehension : she is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stoutly built, swarthy complexion, auburn hair tinged with grey, and face slightly pockmarked. She travels with a man about 40 years of age, light complexion, light hair, and sandy tuft on chin ; he hawks oranges, nut?, and occasionally fish, attending country fairs and markets. The woman stated that she was a native of Hull, and that she left thera about six months ago. Iufoimation to be given to Superintendent Hammonds, Constabulary Office, Llanrwst, Denbighshire, who holds the warrant.— Bow street, July 16. Charged with stealing four Sheep Skins ( recovered) at Glynfach, Llanigon, Breconshire, on the 20th ultimo : THOMAS KENT, a maker and hawker of cabbage uets at fairs and markets, about 26 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, light brown hair, blue eyes, small tuft of hair on chin, very much sunburnt, looks sickly and is hollow in the cheeks, has a sluggish gait, and speaks with a Stafford- shire accent; supposed dressed in an old cloth monkey J'acket or slop, corduroy or fustian trousers, and dark bowler lat. His wife is now employed as a picker in some gardens near London ; he received a letter from her to say she will leave about the third week in August, and will meet him to go to pick hops ( supposed) in Herefordshire. His wife obtained a pedlar's certificate, in September, 1874, for the city of Hereford, and is endorsed for the county of Hereford, but the man has now got the certificate in his possession. Information to be given to Superintendent Evans, Crick- howell, or to Sergeant Jones, Hay, Breconshire, who hold3 a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 16. Absconded on the 14th instant, stealing a 2- wheel Hand Truck, painted dark chocolate, with new handle— painted black, aud 10s. 5d., the property of his master : a youth, 16 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, rather dark complexion, and full face; dressed in pilot jacket, vest, and trousers, and cheesecutter cap.— Metropolitan Police, E Division, July 16. Charged with stealing Silk : a youth, 19 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, slim, fair hair and complexion, one upper front tooth broken ; dressed in black cloth coat, light vest and trousers, and black billycock hat.— Metropolitan Police, G Division, July 16. Stolen at Great Driffield, on the 11th instant: a blue cloth reefing Jacket, black velvet collar, and bone buttons, lined with magenta and black flannel : and a blue and white Scarf. By a woman, about 24 years of age, aud small figure ; dressed in dark stuff dress, small dark shawl, black hat, and wore long ear- rings. Sha was accompanied by a man, 24 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, pale complexion, and dark moustache ; dressed in black velvet cap, light scarf, aud dark coat. Both have the appearance of tramps. Description of a tramp charged with stealing a Shovel ( since recovered) at Greenham, on the 4th instant : about 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, has been a soldier, ami sometimes hawks earthenware ; dressed in round bowler hat, dark coat, and old cord trousers, mended at the kuees. When at Newbury, he was accompanied by a female, who was possessed of a pedlar's certificate. Supposed gone to Alder- shot. Description of THOMAS PAGE and RUTH PAGE, charged ( with JESSE PAGE MERYCK, who is in custody), with conspiring and defrauding a lady named Westbrook of .£ 911, at Knowle, in the county of Warwick : Thomas Page is frem 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, black hair and bushy whiskers turning grey, rather ruddy face, square build, walks very erect, is well educated, and of gentlemanly appearance ; wears a gold ring on each little finger, one with a green stone, and the other a red one, also a gold watch and albert chain, the watch bears the following inscription : ' Presented to Mr. Arthur by a few of his commercial friends, August 1st, 1865.' Page aud the woman Ruth Page, who passes as his wife, have been living at Broadstairs up to the 1st instant, prior to that at Southsea ; be has been employed at the Educational Department, Whitehall. Ruth Page is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, thin figure, very dark complexiou, and black hair, worn low on the forehead and very frizzy. A reward of £ 5 each will be paid on their apprehension. On the 9th instant, a man of the following description, presented himself at Messrs. Gurney's Bank, Lynn, and proposed to open an account with them, stating he was an agent of Mr. Webster, the great contractor, of London, and was going to reside in Lynn several months, for the purpose of buying timber, & c. He deposited a cheque for £ 75 on the Imperial Bank, London, payable to self, aud signed W. Howard. He received from Messrs. Gurney and Co., pass and cheque books, aud drew £ 20 ou account; the ,£ 75 cheque on being sent to the Imperial Bank was returned dishonoured. Ou the 14th instant, he endeavoured to effect a similar fraud on the National Provincial Bank, Wisbech, by tendering a cheque for £ 75 on Messrs. Gurney. On the 21st instant, the Body of a woman, apparently from 30 to 40 years of age, medium size, little dark hair ou top of head, was found in the River Aire, at Airmyn.
