Notice.— It is requested that all communications lor the purpose of obtaining or giving information respecting supposed offenders, or stolen property, may bear the Signature of the person requiring or sending the same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to the Editor, Police Court, Bow Street, London, W. C. Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the Name is given, it is indispensably nssessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the Offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As no charge is made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, all Iietters addressed to the Editor must be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. The Names and Descriptions of Deserters from the Army, and of Absentees and Deserters from the Militia, should be forwarded on War Office Eorms 88 and 88A, to the Editor, as above, for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE. INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Absconded, charged with cutting and wounding police constable William H. Robinson, in the execution of his duty at Headley Hill: BENJAMIN ALLISON, 36 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches ' high, fresh complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, cat short, no whiskers, full face, very stout figure, a native of West Auck- land, a miner and married ; has two small blue marks on left temple, mole on left side of neck, a small blue mark between the eyes, and a small scar below left knee. JOHN CUNNINGHAM, 20 years of age, 5 ft. 9 or 10 ins. high, light brown hair, cut short, fair complexion, long face, no whiskers, stout build, a native of Ireland, and a miner. PETER CUNNINGHAM, 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, broad face, brown hair cut short, a native of Ireland, and a miner. JAMES DOYLE, 24 or 25 yoarsof age, 5 feet 8 ins. higb, dark complexion and moustache, no whiskers, daik hair,[ coarse features, a native of Ireland, and a miner. And TERRENCE DOYLE, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, brown hair, no whiskers, large mouth, a native of Ireland, and a miner. Information to be given to Superintendent Oliver, Consett, Durham, who holds warrants for their apprehension.— Bow- street, July 21. Absconded from Hedley Hill, in the parish of Lanchester, on the night of the 10th instant, charged with cutting and wounding William Henry Robinson, whilst in the execution of his duty as a police constable, of the Durham County Con- stabulary : BENJAMIN ALLISON, 35 or 36 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, fair complexion, full face, grey eyes, light brown hair, cut short, and whiskers shaved off, stout figure ; dressed in dark clothes ; he is a pitman, aud a native of Durham. Information to be given to Superintendent 01iver( Consett, Durham, who holds a warrant for his appre- hension.— Bow- street, July 16. given to Superinten ent Williams, Leek, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, July 21. Between 6 p. m. on the 15th and 8 a. m. on the 18th inst., the house of Thomas Phillips, in the village of Madley, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a Suit of Clothes ( since recovered). By a man, who had the appearance of a stableman or colt breaker, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, and dressed in a dark suit, and carried a grey overcoat on his arm. Information to be given to the Superin- tendent Cope, Shire Hall, Hereford.— Bow- street, July 21. Description of GEORGE STRONNELLS, a shoemaker, charged with breakiog into the premises of Messrs. Reynolds, shoe manufacturers, Chesham, on the morning of the 6th inst,, and stealing several pairs of Boots, since recovered ; he was discharged on licence on the 12th ultimo : he is 44 years of age, 5 feet 5|- inches high, sallow complexion, brown hair, bald top of head, light hazel eyes, cut on forehead, burn on temple, moles on each cheek, moles and scars on each arm, scar on left thumb, and has iost nearly all the upper teeth ; dressed in dark clothes, and black hard felt hat; his photo- graph can be seen on application. Information to be given to Inspector Moore, Police Station, Chesham, Bucks, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 19. Description of a man charged ( with two other men in custody) with theft by housebreaking at Kingswell, Eenwick, Ayrshire, N. B. on the 6th instant: about 20 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, ruddy complexion and sunburnt, dark hair, no whiskers, and ordinary figure ; dressed in dark trousers and vest, brown tweed coat, ( faded and marked with grease), and Balmoral cap. Speaks with a broad Irish accent, gives the name of JOSEPH STEWART, and has the appearance of an iron moulder or engineering workman, on tramp. He has been traced southwards. Information to be be given to Superintendent Menzies, County Constabulary, Kilmarnock.— Bow- street, July 16. Stolen from Weybridge, about 4 p. m. on the 8th instant, by means of skeleton keys: six Table Spoons, marked ' G. J. B.;' eighteen Tea Spoons ; a Dessert Spoon, crest— a stag's head ; two Spoons, marked ' E. T.;' all silver ; a small gold Geneva, Watch ; a very old double- cased silver Watch ; a gold Guard Chain; and three gold Rings. By two men, driving a light chestnut horse and light dogcart : one from .35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark com- plexion, black moustache, no whiskers, stout build, and of gentlemanly appearance ; dressed in dark clothes, and high black hat. The other about 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 ins. high, light complexion, stout build, and had the appearance of a coachman ; dressed in light drab clothes, and high black hat. Information to be given to Superintendent Bungard, Surrey Constabulary, Chertsey.— Bow- street, July 14. FORGEE7. Absconded from Paris iu September last, charged with forgery : PAUL MARIE HONCRE SEGUIN, a clerk, 26 years of age, middle height, small black whiskers, bends his head down when walking, usually carries a cane which he flourishes, and was in the franc- tireurs. Information to be given to Superintendent Williamson, Detective Department, Great Scotland Yard, London.— Bow- street, July 12. Description of CHARLES KNOWSLEY, a commercial traveller, who absconded from Plymouth, about the 1st. inst., charged with forging a Bill of Exchange, for £ 57 12s. 6d. : he is about 45 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, dark hair and whiskers, the latter rather long, full bright eyes, and of smart appearance ; generally dressed in blue frock coat, with velvet collar, grey mixed trousers and vest, and black silk liat; he is well known in commercial hotels in the South Western counties. Information to be given to Chief Super- intendent Wreford, Central Police Station, Plymouth, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 9. During the night of the 9th instant, the shop of Mr. Robert Bell, Market- street, Hyde, was broken into and stolen therein : four pieces of black Gros- Grain Silk, containing about 40 yards each, three of which have purple and white borders, £ 3 10s. in Copper, £ 1 in Silver, and 10s. in Stamps. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Arrowsmith, Constabulary Station, Hyde, Cheshire.— Bow- street, July 12. Stolen on the 5tli instant, by means of housebreaking, the property of Mr. Muggeridge Copsale, Nuthurst, Horsham: four electro- plated table Spoons ; two salt Spoons; two mustard Spoons ; a pair of sugar Tongs ; two jet Brooches ; two gold twist Brooches ; a gold Brooch, with green setting ; a gold Brooch, - with forget- me- not; three pairs of gold Ear rings ; a pair of jet Ear- rings ; two gold Rings, one with hair inlaid, and marked with the initials ' S. M.', the other set with small white stone and a red one in the middle ; a gold Locket, containing hair ; a silver Thimble; an old silver pair- case verge Watch, maker John Nicholls, No. 6418 ; an old silver hunting Watch, with gilt Chain ; a seal- skin Purse ; a £ 5 Bank of England Note ; and £ 16 in Gold. Supposed by a man, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high; dressed in a dark jacket and trousers, elastic- side boots, and black high hat, carrying with him a black bag, and goes about hawking pills. Information to be given to Superintendent Henderson, West Sussex Constabulary, Horsham.— Bow- rtreet, July 9. ' Pioneer.' The horse he is charged with stealing he hired and did not return it. Information to be given to Inspector Webb, Police Station, Stony Stafford, Bucks.— Bow- street, July 19. Found in the possession of a man named WILLIAM SUTTON, a horse coper, who is remanded and charged with horse stealing at South Weald, near Brentwood, on the night of the 4th instant, and supposed to have been stolen : a dark bay Mare, aged, about 15 hands high, white star on forehead, off hind foot white, short tail cut square, and low in condi- tion. He states that he bought the Mare at Bow Common on the 4th instant. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Bridges, Brentwood, or to Inspector Pepper, Romford, Essex.— Bow- street, July 16. Stolen during the niglit'of the 13th instant, from Merton: a dark bay Horse, aged, 15J hands high, black points, star on forehead, with Bridle and Bearing Rein, L. B. B. in monogram on blinkers ; also a dark bay Mare, aged, one hind foot white, star on forehead, and black points.— Metropolitan Police, V Division, July 16. Stolen from Orton Longville, during the night of the 10th instant: an aged black cart Horse, about 16 hands high, face partly white, and hair partly rubbed off the upper part of the tail; and an aged bay half- bred harness Mare, about 16 hands high, switch tail, carries her head very high when going, and has chipped knees. Two men of the follow- ing description are supposed to have stolen the same, and two Bridles and Saddles from Thorpe, where they had been hay- making : one is about 22 years of age, 5 feet high, stout build, fair Complexion, and dressed in a sleeved waistcoat and dark cap; the other is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, very dark complexion, large nose, and dressed in an old coat and trousers, and black billycock hat. They had the appearance of gipsies, and are tattooed on one arm. These men, with the horses, saddles, and bridles, were seen near Royston, Cambs, on the 11th instant, enquiring the nearest road to Whitechapel, London, saying they had come from Grantham. Information to be given to Superintendent Barker, Normancross, Peterborough, Northampton,— Bow- street, July 14. Supposed to have been stolen from a field at Walsall, during the Eight of the 11th instant: a bay cart Horse, 15 hands 2 inches high, aged, star on forehead, in very good condition, and had a head collar on. A black horse Pony, 3 years old, 12 hands high, in good condition, ears split, A black horse Cob, 6 years old, 15 hands 2 inches high, and mark on right side of shoulder from the collar. Information to be given to Chief Constable Cater, Walsall, Staffordshire, — Bow- street, Julv 14. Stolen from the Foss Farm at Brokenborough, on the night of the 10th instant, the property of Mr. Henry Telling: eleven 2- year old Heifers, one roan- coloured, seven red and white, two red, and one brown. Information to be given to Superintendent Beauchamp, Malmesbury, Wilts.— Bow- street, July 12. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person of a gentleman in the borough of Bolton, on the evening of the 5th instant: a silver lever Watch, No. 39,636, engine turned cases, and had attached a gold Chain, diamond pattern. By two men, of whnin no description can be given. Information to be given to Chief Constable Beech, Bolton, Lancashire.— Bow- street, July 9. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Between 1 and 4 p. m. on the 12th instant, the house of James Ratcliffe, Den stone- lane, Alton, was entered by means of skeleton keys, and thirty Sovereigns and an old leather Purse stolen from a box in the bedroom. Information to be HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Description of JOHN LOWE, charged with stealing two Sheep ( recovered) at Great Roliright on the 7th instant : about 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion, hair, and whiskers, high cheek bones, slightly made, and very talkative when in drink ; dressed in a black cloth. coat and trousers, light tweed vest, white calico shirt, black satin scarf with green spots, black billycock hat, and new lace- up boots or shoes. Attends cattle markets aud fairs as a drover, and cuts ash sticks which he offers for sale iu the fairs, and is well known at Cirencester and Gloucester. Information to be given to Superintendent Lakin, County Police Station, Chip- ping Norton, Oxon, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. — Bow- street, July 19. Remanded at Stony Stratford Police Station till the 22nd instant, charged with horse stealing : ALFRED BELL, of the Greyhound Inn, 72, Ball's Pond- road, London, 24 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, hazel eyes, light brown hair, and proportionate build ; dressed in a blue serge suit, black round hat, and low shoes; he has lately been " working on the Grand Junction Canal with the steam tug LARCENY AMD EMBEZZLEMENT. Absconded on the 5th instant, charged with embezzle- ment : HENRY ELLIOTT, about 40 years of age, about 5 feet inches high, dark complexion, eyes, and hair, whiskers and : moustache, prominent nose, good teeth, walks with a long step and a short one, bald head, but the hair long on one side to comb over the crown. He is very talkative, aud always well dressed. Information to be given to Detec- tive Inspector Battersby, Sheffield, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, July 21. Stolen from a bedroom at Lisle Castle Inn, Chalk, Kent: a'pair of Trousers and Vest ( recovered); a pair of grey cotton Socks, red ring round tops ; a coloured woollen Shirt ; a white cotton Handkerchief, blue stripe round border ; a blue Scarf ; and a blue and white striped Necktie. By a man ( who lodged at the house), about 26 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, dark complexion, and black whiskers and moustache; dressed in a dark coat and vest, dark striped trousers, black felt hat, and lace- up shoes. Information to be given to Super- intendent Coppinger, Kent Constabulary, Chatham,— Bow- street, July 19. Description of THOMAS OLIVER EWINGS, alias I HARDY, alias JONEWSON, who is charged with stealing I £ 1 4s. from his lodgings : he is a tramping tailor and native of Oakham, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, light hair, combed back behind the ears, light moustache and small light whiskers, pale complexion, and feminine voice ; dressed in soft felt hat, black cloth coat, trimmed with black silk braid, double- breasted black cloth vest, dark grey trousers, worn at bottoms, and side- spring boots, with false button fronts. He has been convicted of similar charges at Oakham, London, Leicester, and Derbyshire. Information to be given to Superintendent Palmer, Kenilworth, Warwick- shire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 19. Description of JAMES REED, a native of Isleham, Cambridgeshire, charged on a warrant with stealing thirty- four Fleeces o£ Wool, the property of Mr. George Skelton, of Lutton Marsh, which were disposed o£ at Lynn about the 1st instant: he is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, light brown hair, rather sandy whiskers, high cheek- bones, and sunken cheeks ; dressed in a light suit, light billy- cock hat, ankle shoes, and red and black check woollen shirt, 2 POLICE GAZETTE. July 21 all appealed to be new ; lie carried a watch in his waistcoat pocket, with an imitation gold albert chain, also a long new wnbleached calico Bag, containing wearing apparel. He was traced from. March to York, where he was convicted of felony. Has been for several years at Middlesborough, Stockton, and other towns in the north, employed as a labourer in repairing telegraph wires, & c, and it is supposed that he will seek • employment in the same capacity. Information to be given to Inspector Crawford, Holbeach, or to Sergeant Biggadike, JLong Sutton, Lincolnshire.— Bow- street, July 19. Stolen from a barn in " Wisbeach, on the 16th ultimo: six Fleeces of Wool, w hich were sold the same day at Boston, • at a public- house, by a man who gave the name of JAMES REED, 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh com- plexion, brown hair, very little whiskers, full face, and cheeks • rather sunken; dressed when he sold the wool in a velveteen • coat ( he also had a rust- colour cloth monkey coat), cotton, • cord trousers, rough cap with straight peak ; he was seen on • the 7th inst., dressed in light clothes. Information to be given to Head Constable Sharpe, Borough Police, Wisbeach, Lin- colnshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, Julv 19. Stolen from a lodging- house at New Brighton, oa the 10th instant: a drab rep Dress, trimmed with brown, and waiatbelt left behind. By a servant girl, 19 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, dark brown hair, and fresh com- plexion. She is supposed to be at Southport, or some bathing place, wearing the stolen dress, and left her skirt behind. She also engaged apartments for a week and left them unpaid. Information to be given to Superintendent Egerton, County Police, Abby- street, Birkenhead, or to Inspector Hindler, SessioD^ House, Egremont, Cheshire.— Bow- street, July 19. Stolen, on the 9th inst., frcm 34, Albert- street: a brown ' sealskin Jacket, worn ; a black French merino Cape, trimmed Yak lace and bugles; a blue waterproof Cloak ; a silk Shirt, peach colour; a silk Umbrella, ivory handle, let in with ipearis; a black velvet sleeveless Jacket, trimmed with Yak lace; a black and blue silk net Bonnet; a brown leather luggage Strap ; a black quilted alpaca Skirt; two pairs of crisam coloured Balbriggan Stockings ( women's); & c. : by a • woman, 21 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches higb, fair complexion, pimpled, light hair, blue eyes, and stout build; supposed dressed ' in stolen clothes, and to have gone to Soham, C& jnbs. She has travelled in the provinces with a music hall singer. — Metropolitan Police, S Division, July 16. CATHERINE COYLE, late of Wrexham, was com- mitted for trial at the Denbighshire Quarter Sessions held on the 1st instant, for larceny ; she was admitted to bail, but did not surrender, and a true bill having been found against her, h£ r bail was estreated, and a bench warrant was issued tor her apprehension : Bhe is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, stoutly built, swarthy complexion, auburn hair tinged with grey, and face slightly pockmarked. She travels with a man about 40 years of age, light complexion, light hair, and sandy tuft on chin ; he hawks oranges, nuts, and occasionally fish, attending country fairs and markets. The woman stated that she was a native of Hull, and that she left there about six months ago. Information to be given to Superintendent Hammonds, Constabulary Office, lalanrwst, Denbighshire, who holds the warrant.— Bow- street, July IS. Charged with stealing four Sheep Skins ( recovered) at Ctlynfach, Llanigon, Breconshire, on the 20th ultimo : THOMAS KENT, a maker and hawker of cabbage nets at fairs and markets, about 26 years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, light brown hair, blue eyes, small tuft of hair on chin, very much sunburnt, looks sickly and is hollow in the cheeks, has a sluggish gait, and speaks with a Stafford- shire accent; supposed dressed in an old cloth monkey jacket or slop, corduroy or fustian trousers, and dark bowler hat. His wife is now employed as a picker in some gardens near London ; he received a letter from her to say she will leave about the third week in August, and will meet him to go to pick hops ( supposed) in Herefordshire. His wife obtained a pedlar's certificate, in September, 1874, for the city of Hereford, and is endorsed for the county of Hereford, but the man has now got the certificate in his possession. Information to be given to Superintendent Evans, Crick- howell, or to Sergeant Jones, Hay, Breconshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 16. Absconded on the 14th instant, stealing a 2- wheel Hand Truck, painted dark chocolate, with new handle— painted black, and 10s. 5d., the property o£ his master : a youth, 16 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, rather dark complexion, and full face; dressed in pilot jacket, vest, and trousers, and cheesecutter cap.— Metropolitan Police, E Division, July 16. Charged with stealing Silk : a youth, 19 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, slim, fair hair and complexion, one upper front tooth broken ; dressed in black cloth coat, light vest and trouseis, and black billycock hat,— Metropolitan Police, G Division, July 16. Stolen at Great Driffield, on the 11th instant: a blue cloth reefing Jacket, black velvet collar, and bone buttons, lined with magenta and black flannel: and a blue and white Scarf. By a woman, about 24 years of age, and small figure ; dressed in dark stuff dress, small dark shawl, black ha. t, and wore long ear- rings. She was accompanied by a mau, 24 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, pale complexion, and dark moustache ; dressed in black velvet cap, light scarf, and dark coat. Both have the appearance of tramps. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Harper, East Riding Constabulary, Driffield.— Bow- street, July 14. Description of a tramp charged with stealing a Shovel ( since recovered) at Greenham, on the 4th instant: about 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, has been a soldier, and sometimes hawks earthenware ; dressed in round bowler hat, dark coat, and old cord trousers, mended at the knees. When at Newbury, he was accompanied by a female, who was possessed of a pedlar's certificate. Supposed gone to Aider- shot. Information to be given to Superintendent Bennett, Newbury, Berks.—. Sew- street, July 14. Description of JOHN WOOD, alias GEORGE CLIF- FORD, charged with embezzling the sum of £ 2 Is. lid.: about 20 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, dark hair, eyes, and complexion, and speaks very softly ; dressed in a dark cloth coat and vest, mixture trousers, high round crowned felt hat, and is a native of Bridge, near Canterbury. Infor- mation to be given to Head Constable Compton, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 12. Stolen from Greenhithe, at 7 a. m. on the 10th instant: a white duck Jacket and a Scotch Cap, by a boy who has ab- sconded from the Training Ship ' Arethusa'; he is about 18 years of age, 5 feet high, and of fresh complexion ; dressed in black trousers, and the stolen Jacket and Cap. Informa- tion to be given to Superintendent Fread, Kent Constabulary, Dartford.— Bow- street, July 12. FELONIES. ( Not otherwise described). Charged ( on a warrant)"* with felony: ARTHUR THOMAS BUTTERSS, of Addison Villa, Holly Bush Hill, Snaresbrook, late clerk to Messrs. Bolt and Co., 10, Mark- lane : 19 or 20 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, worn very short and with a fringe over his forehead, rather prominent cheek bones and nose, has two piominent teeth in upper jaw ( one on each side), and voice rather deep and indistinct utterance. He had a slight rash on his hands, and wore two large rings on left hand, one silver and one gold, quite { ifein; dressed respecta- bly, the waistcoat buttens being high up. Information t © be given to Inspector Bailey, City of London Police, Detective Department, 26, Old Jewry, E. C - Bow- street, July 19. Description of a man who gives his name as HENRY SMITH, committed for a felonious assault on a girl under 10 years of age, at Brynmawr, for trial at the Assizes, on the 19th instant: he is about 45 years of age, says he is only 35, 5 feet inch high, dark bro- wn hair, dark eye, blind of the left, sallow complexion, rather long face, thin beard and moustache, proportionate build, shuffling gait, small scar over right temple, scars between eyebrows, eitid a wart on back of neck ; he is well acquainted with the names of Egyptian, Syrian, Red Sea Ports, the Suez Canal, & c.; says he has been a dragoman in charge of camel drivers at the Canal and in Arabia; he has also been a gardener aud a sailor, and was born in Bermondsey, London. Description of THOMAS PAGE and RUTH PAGE, charged ( with JESSE PAGE MERYCK, who is in custody), with conspiring and defrauding a lady named Westbrook of £ 911, at Knowle, in the county of Warwick : Thomas Page is fr ® m 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, black hair and bushy whiskers turning grey, rather ruddy face, square build, walks very erect, is well educated, and of gentlemanly appearance ; wears a gold ring on each little finger, one with a green stone, and the other a red one, also a gold watch and albert chain, the watch bears the following inscription : ' Presented to Mr. Arthur by a few of his commercial friends, August 1st, 1865.' Page and the woman Ruth Page, who passes as his wife, have been living at Broadstairs up to the 1st instant, prior to that at Southsea ; he has been employed at the Educational Department, Whitehall. Ruth Page is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, thin figure, very dark complexion, and black hair, worn low on the forehead and very frizzy. A reward of £ 5 each will be paid on their apprehension. On the 9th instant, a man of the following description, presented himself at Messrs. Gurney's Bank, Lynn, and proposed to open an account with them, stating he was an agent of Mr. Webster, the great contractor, of London, and was going to reside in Lynn several months, for the purpose of buying timber, & c. He deposited a cheque for £ 75 on the Imperial Bank, London, payable to self, and signed W. Howard. He received from Messrs. Gurney and Co., pass and cheque books, and drew £ 20 on account; the £ 75 cheque on being sent to the Imperial Bank was returned dishonoured. On the 14th instant, he endeavoured to effect a similar fraud on the National Provincial B^ nk, Wisbech, by tendering a cheque for £ 75 on Messrs. Gurney. He is 55 or 60 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, iron grey hair and whiskers, sharp features, top lip fallen in as though the teeth were gone, and sallow complexion ; dressed in dark frock coat, light trousers, and light coloured dust coat. JOHN COLLIER alias WILSON, about 55 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, dark grey eyes and hair, fresh com- plexion, blue dot on left arm, and scar on forehead ; was con- victed of stealing a purse and money, at Manchester, on the 12th March, 1873, and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with hard labour, and 7 years police supervision. MARGARET FLYNN alias ROGERS, alias SELINA HAYNES, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 2f inches high, grey eyes, dark brown hair, sallow complexion, cut between eyebrows, scar on left cheek, and pockmarked; was convicted of receiving stolen property, at Salford. on the 24th February, 1873, and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with bard labour and 5 years police supervision. MARY ANN FITZPATRICK, about 46 years of age, 4 feet 11 inches high, grey eyes, dark brown hair, dark com- plexion, vaccination marks on right arm, and scar from boil on side of neck ; was convicted of stealing bacon at Man- chester on the 8th January, 1874, and sentenced to 9 months imprisonment with hard labour, and 3 years police super- vision. CATHERINE HARVEY, about 33 years of age, 4 feet 11 inches high, grey eyes, red hair, fresh complexion, slightly pockmarked, cut on nose and on each arm ; was convicted of larceny at Salford, on the 18th May, 1874, and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with hard labour and 3 years police supervision. THOMAS KELLY, about 22 years of age, 5 feet 6| inches high, brown eyes and hair, sallow complexion, scars on fore- head, and dot on left arm ; was convicted of larceny at Man- chester, on the 8th January last, and sentenced to 15 months imprisonment with hard labour and 7 years supervision. ELIZA LACEY, about 61 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, blue eyes, brown hair, dark complexion, and wrinkled face ; was convicted of stealing at Manchester, on the 29th of October, 1873, and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with hard labour and 7 years police supervision. MARGARET MANNING alias MANION, about 56 years of age, 5 feet 4J inches high, blue eyes, brown hair, dark complexion, lost right eye, and scar on back of neck ; was convicted cf larceny at Manchester, on the 3rd January, 1872, and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment with hard labour and 7 years police supervision.
