INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Absconded from France, 13th of April last, charged with murdering her child: MARIE ANATOLE MAZIER, a widow, maiden name BESNEHARD, 30 years of age, about 5 feet high, dark hair, grey eyes, small mouth, aud large flat forehead. Supposed iu service in the Island of Jersey, probably at Gorey. Information to be given to Superinten- dent Williamson, Detective Department, Great Scotland Yard, S. W.— Metropolitan Police, June 11. FORGERY. Charged on a warrant with forgery: JABEZ STEAD MUSGRAVE, 50 or 55 years of age, nearly 6 feet high slender build, carries himself erect, light complexion, sharp features, light hair, bushy at sides, and inclined to curl, light moustache, whiskers, and beard, slightly pockmarked, bald, and has a deep iudeutation on top of head ; left Manchester by the 9T0 p. m train for Liverpool, on the 3rd instant, ' n- formation to be given to Chief Constable Palm, Town Hall, Manchester.— Brno- street, June 9. Description of GEORGE GRAHAM, charged on a warrant with havingon the 17th November, 1874, feloniously j forged a certain acceptance of a certain Bill of Exchange for the payment of £ 175 10s. : he is from 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 5 to 6 inches high, dark brown ^ hair, inclined to curl,; dark brown whiskers all round his face, no moustache, hazel - eyes, has a peculiarity [ about his eyes as if an operation had been performed upon him for squinting, fresh complexion, and ordinary nose and mouth; geuerally dresses in black frock coat, coloured trousers, and high black hat, and had a slovenly appearance; is a native of Felling, county of Durham, and up to last December was a ship- broker in New- castle. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Detective Department, Newcastle- on- Tyue. — Bow- street, June 7. Absconded on the 24th ultimo, charged a warrant with forgery of Bills, amounting to £ 2,475, BENJ. ARCHER POTTER, lately a dry- salter in Queen- street, Glasgow : he is 31 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, ordinary make, fair complexion and hair, rather red whiskers, beard, and mous- tache ( full grown), and bald forehead; dresses generally iu a black surtout coat and dress hat; he is a native of Batley, Yorkshire. Iuformation to be given to Chief Constable McCall, or to Deputy Chief Constable Brown, Glasgow, Lan- arkshire.— Bow- street, June 7. Description of a man who on the 21st ultimo, under the pretence of purchasing a pianoforte, tendered a forged cheque for £ 50, drawn on Lacon's Bank, Halesworth, and signed E. K. Lacon, aud received a cheque for the balance, £ 25, from a pianoforte manufacturer in Oxford : about 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark complexion, whiskers, aud hair, cut short; dressed in black clothes and silk hat. He represented himself to be the rector ® f a parish a few miles from Oxford, aud is supposed to be the same person as described in the Police Gazette of 27th March and 28th April last, charged with similar offences at Great Yarmouth and Cambridge. Information to be given to Superintendent Head, Police Office, Oxford, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow street, June 2. Charged on a sheriff's warrant with having on the 27th ultimo, at a bank in Glasgow, obtained £ 90, by means of a forged cheque : ANDREW NISBET, a clerk, about 25 yrs, of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark hair, small dark whiskers and moustache, chin clean shaved, and dark complexion; dressed in dark suit. He is of genteel appearance, speaks with a Scotch accent, and talked about going abroad. Infermation to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Brown, Olasgow.— Bow- street, June 2. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FEOIS THE PERSON. Stolen from the pei'son of Samuel Collier, while attending Bromyard Races on the 20th ultimo: a silver Watch, with ' S. Collier' marked on one of the cases. Information to be given to Superintendent Harwood, Bromyard, Herefordshire. — Bow- street, June 11. Stolen from the person of Thomas Poulton, on the 7th instant: a silver Geneva Watch, enamelled face, lolack figures and small seconds hand, also a gold Albert Chain, snake pattern, with Locket attached. By a man named EDWARD PHILLIPS, a shoemaker, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, sandy hair, whiskers, beard and moustache ; rather well dressed in dark clothes, round hard hat, elastic- side boots, the trousers bulging at the kuees. Has worked in Birmingham, Walsall, Merthyr Tydfil, and other places in South Wales. Information to be given to the Chipf Constable, Newtown, Montgomeryshire.— Bow- street, June 9. Stolen from the person on the 4th instant, at Eton : a silver Geneva Watch, maker Benson, Bond- street, London, coloured figures on face ; a small gold Geneva huutiug Watch, marked on back ' A. L. N.'; a silver kalf hunting Watch, keyless, crest on Vck, and engine- turned ; a gold Watch, maker Le Roy ana I ds, marked ' E. L.' on back, No. 47678, and gold Chain attached, Locket, with portrait, and marked 1 A. J. E.' ; and a silver hunting Watch, with initials on front ' R. P.,' silver Chain, and silver Compass attached. Information to be given to Superintendent Dunham, Slough, or to Inspector Pearman, Eton College, Bucks.— Bow- street, June 7. Stolen from the person of a gentleman in the borough of Sunderland, on the night of the 2ud instant : a gold lever Watch, No. 42120, has a small piece chipped off the dial near the figure ' 12,' had attached a gold albert curb Chain aud a Seal, green stone on one side, red on the other; a Pocket Book, containing a £ 5 Bank o£ England Note, a bunch of Keys, a latch Key, a safe Key, and several Papers relating to coal, dealing. Information to be given to Chief Constable Stainsby, Sunderland, Durham.— Bow- street, June 7. Stolen from the person at Newport pleasure fair, about 8 p. m. on the 28tb. inst., a patent silver lever Watch, No. 57027, no maker's name, sunk Seconds, open face, and capped. £ 1 reward will be paid on its recovery and con- viction of the offender or offenders. Information to bo given to Chief Superintendent Richardson, Wellington, or to Sergeant Christie, Newpart, Salop.— Bow- street, June 7. buttons, nearly new ; a woollen scarf Shawl, black and white plaid, nearly new; 35 yards of black Silk; a fill's Jacket, imitation sealskin, lined with black satin, and much worn ; a Writing Desk, made of light brown polished wood, inlaid with brass rouud the edge of the lid, and a plate in centre about 14 inches by 7 inches ; two £ 5 Bank of England Notes ; and about £ 5 in Gold and Silver. 20s. reward will be paid for such information as shall lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, and recovery of the property, or in proportion to the amount recovered. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Lawton, County Police Station, Stockport, Cheshire.— Bow- street, June 2. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Between 12 p. m. and 6 a. m. on the 6th instant, the dwelling- house and shop of Mr. John Watkins, of the parish of Fownhope, was broken aud entered, and stolen therein : a Box, containing a quantity of old Coppers, seven or eight new red cotton Handkerchiefs, about six clasp Kuives, with white handles, and a qaantity of Cheese and BACOD. Sup- posed by tramps. Iuformation to be given to Superinten- dent Cope, Shire Hall, Hereford.— Bow- street, June 11. Between 3 and 5- 30 a. m. on the 3rd inst., the dwelling- house of Mr. James Rothwell, licensed victualler, Crown Inn, Copy Nook, Blackburn, was broken and entered, aud stolen therein : a lady's gold lever Watch, gold dial, seconds hand, No. 16555, had a gold Guard, small chain pattern, attached ; a silver lever Watch, white dial, seconds hand, maker J. Ainsworth, Blackburn, No. 54582, with a fiue silver Guard attached ; also 8s. or 9s. in silver aud copper Money. Iuformation to be given to Chief Constable Potts, Police Omce, Town Hall, Blackburn, Lancashire.— Bow-^ t., June 7. Stolen in the borough of Shrewsbury, by means of house- breaking, on the 31st ultimo : a lady's gold consular Geneva Watch, No. 30736, gold dial, and gold Albert Chaiu attached ; a silver English lever Watch, open face ; a p « ir of gold Eye- glasses; an old silver Watch, No. 784, maker Johu Kirk, Loudon ; a plated Albert ; a steel ditto ; and about £ 50 iu Gold. Information to be given to Head Constable Davies, Shrewsbury, Salop.— Bow- street, June 4. Early on the morning of the 1st instant, a dwelling- house at Dunchurcb, was brokeu and entered, aud stolen therein : a silver Geneva Watch, single case, white dial, no seconds hand, engraved back with plain shield iu centre, had attached a brass Key, with ' Barilla Farnham,' thereon ; a pair of common black Ear- rings, have been repaired ; teu nickel silver Spoons, six Tea, four Table ; eight Pocket Knives, containing several Blades, Cork Screws, & c.; a Chemise, a Night Dress, a pair of Drawers, a Bodice, all marked ' M. Butler,' in front ; two baby's white Petticoats ; four white brilliant and three diaper Pinafores ; two Shirts and three Night Dresses, children's ; two white linen Aprons ; two white Table Cloths ; four Chamber Towels ; aud six Tea Cloths. Supposed by two tramps. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Jervis, Rugby, Warwick- shire.— Bow- street, June 2. Between 10 p. m. the 24th and 5 a. m. the 25th ultimo, a dwelling- house at High- lane, was broken and entered aud stolen therein : a dark brown Overcoat, brown velvet collar, double- breasted, three pockets outside, two on the right side, one on the left, and one inside left breast, brown covered buttons, and much worn ; a boy's blue pilot Overcoat, black velvet collar, lined with bright scarlet plaid, and black bone HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen from a field near Bradley, during tho evening of the 4th instant : an aged dark brown Horse, half bred, in fair condition, about 15 hands high, black legs, mane and tail rather long, both knees chipped, small white mark on nose, walks stiffly behind, and is rather cow- legged. Information to be given to James Rotchel, the owner, of Bradley, or to Sergeant Wheaver, Police Station, Church Eaton, Stafford.— Bow- street, June 11. Stolen on the 5th instant, from a field in Boughey- lane, Macclesfield : a mottled grey Ilorse, aged, 15 hands high, with cropped tail, the property of Frederick Upton, Stanley- street. Information to be given to Chief Constable Sheasby, Borough Police Office, Macclesfield, Cheshire.— Bow- street, June 11. Stolen on the night of the 9th instant, from a stable at Whiteknights, near Reading : a light bay Mare, aged, about 15 hands 1- J iuch high, very handsome, has a swelling on the outside of fetlock joint of near foreleg, caused by a sprain, a spot of hair about the size of a 2s. piece rubbed off the off side of back, black mane and taiL £ 20 reward, half tho reward will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to the 1' ecovery of the Mare, or the whole of it on recovery o? the Mare and conviction of the offender or offenders. Stolen during the night of the 6th ins ant, frcm a field at Netteswell Bury, the property cf John Frederic Coleman, farmer : a black cart Mare, 10 years old, about 15 hands 3 iuches high, white star on forehead, and one small white saddle mark. Information to be given to Superiatendent Simpson, Police Station, Epping, Essex.— Bow- street, June 9. Found straying at Oldbury, on the night of the 31st ultimo, supposed to have been stolen : a red Heifer, in calf. Information to be given to Superintendent Kemp, Halesowen, Worcestershire. — bow- street, June 9 Description of CHARLES MOLE, a labourer, who has absconded from Portsmouth, charged with horse- stealing. He is about 23 years of age, 5 feet 10 iuches high, dark brown hair, hazel eyes with a cast iu both, dark complexion, head inclines to one side ; dressed in black billycock hat, white slop, cord trousers, and heavy lace up boots. Iuformation to be given to Head Constable Barber, Portsmouth, Hants, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, June 7. Stolen from a stable on tho Burford- road, near Chipping Nortou, Oxon, on the night of the 28th ultimo : a brown mare Pony, about 13 hands high, aged, has a cut in one ear, long tail, aud wains a little stiff bthind. The property of Edward Skey, dealer, Chipping Norton, Oxon. Information to be given to Superintendent Lakin, County Police Station, Chipping Norton, -. on.— Bow- street, June 7. Stolen between 9 30 p m. on the 30th, and 3 30 a. m. on the 31st ultimo, from a field at Bentley- with- Arksey, near Ddncaster, the property of Thomas Clark, cattle dealer : a brown Gelding, about i J hands high, aged, black legs, tuft of hair ou both knees, from being down, switch tail, rather slack backed, aud iu low coudition. By a man, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, fresh complexion, and stout built; dressed in black cloth coat, cord trousers, black soft billycock hat, aud clogs; he passed through the Barnsdale toll- bar with the horse, at 1 a. m ou the 31st ultimo. Information to be given to Superintendent Astwood, West Riding Consta- bulary, Doncaster.— Bow- street, June 7. Stoleu during the night of the 26th ultimo, from a field at Greenford- green : a black Gelding, 5 years old, 16 hands high, long mane, bang tail, and no hind shoes.— Metropolitan Police, X Division, June 7. Description of two men charged with stealing a Cow ( recovered) from Handley, in the parish of Staveley, on the 22ud ultimo : one about 26 years of age, 6 feet 6 inches high, dark hair, slight daik whiskers, no moustache, fresh com- plexion, thin features, aud slender built; dressed in black cloth jacket and vest, dirty grey cloth trousers, and black cloth cap ; had the appearance of a collier. The other about 20 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, light brown or sandy hair, very slight sandy whiskers, no moustache, thin features, aud slender build ; dressed in a suit of brown cloth, with small white spots in it, and black billycock hat ; had the appearance of a farmer or cattle dealer. Infoimation to be given to Superintendent Carline, County Police Office, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.— Bvno- street, June 4. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Charged on a warrant with embezzlement: HARRY R. SCOTT DE MORST, 22 or 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches 2 P O L I C E G A Z E T T E. June II high, brown hair, fair complexion, good- looking, slight whiskers and moustache ; is an amateur athlete, well known at the South London Harriers Athletic Club, and at the West Kent Club, Forest Hill. Information to be given to Inspector Bailey, City of London Police, Detective Depart- ment, 26, Old Jewry, E. C.— Bow- street, June 11. Stolen in the borough of Chesterfield, on the 8tli instant: a silver lever Watch, No. 29952. Supposed by a man, about 27 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, light complexion, na whiskers, light moustache, ligbt saudy hair, and is a stone- mason ; dressed in a shabby grey coat, woollen cord trousers, and black billycock hat. Said to be a native of Birmingham. Information to be given to Head Constable Home, Chester- field, Derbyshire.— Bow- street, June 11. Stolen from the dwelling- house of William James, Saint Clears, Carmarthenshire, about 4 a. m. ou the 2nd instant: about £ 3 in Silver and Copper Money, and about 3 pounds of Tobacco. By ISAAC PASCOE, blacksmith, a native of Lithney Helston, Cornwall, a lodger, 18 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, hazel eyes, aud light brown hair ; dressed iu dark coat, dark cap, with straight peak, blue Militia trousers, calico shirt, socks, aud boots, all marked ' It. P. M. W. 316'; is a member of the Pembrokeshire Militia. Has worked at his trade in Glamorganshire or Monmouthshire, where he is supposed to have goue. Information to be given to Sergeant Saer, Police Station, St. Clears, Carmarthenshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- rtrect, June 11. Description of FREDERIC PETFORD, charged with embezzling various sums of rnouey belonging to the propri- tors of the Warwick and Birmingham Canal, his masters : he is 29 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 iuches high, pale complexion, dark brown hair, whiskers, and moustache, and square shoulders ; respectably dressed, aud has a gentlemanly appearance. A reward of £ 20 will be paid by the above- mentioned company to any person giving such information a3 will lead tn his apprehension. Information to be giveu to Superintendent Glossop, Birmingham, who holds the warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, June 11. Description of WILLIAM TRIVETT, a clerk and lace salesman, who absconded on the 24th ultimo, charged with embezzlement: he is from 36 to 40 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, brown hair, sandy beard aud moustache, shaves a little under the lip, thiu features, slender build, bald place on top of head, size of a half- crown; generally dresses in dark blue frock coat, Scotch plaid trousers, aud high hat ; frequents betting places. Information to be given to Chief Constable Poyntz, Borough Police Station, Nottingham, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, June 9. Charged on a warrant with embezzlement: BERESFORD LOVETT JONES, late of 35, St. Mary- square, Kennington, about 60 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slender build, stoops a little, fresh colour, hair turning grey, small whiskers, no moustache, and wears spectacles ; generally dressed in shabby dark clothes, and high hat. luformatiou to be given to Inspector Bailey, Detective Department, 26, Old Jewry, EX).— Bow- street, June 7. Stolen from the dwelling- house of Mr. Jennison Hopper, Great Kelk, East Riding, York, on the 24th ultimo, between 7 a. m. and 7 p. m. : two cotton Sheets, two Table Cloths, one red and white and one white, some Towelling, an Anti- macassar, and on e metal Teapot. By a man of the following description : JACOB alias WILLIAM ASKAM, ( a lodger with Mr. Hopper) 25 years of age, 5 feet 7 iuches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, and stout figure ; dressed in fustian jacket, cork trousers, black vest, and cap ; and a native of Sutton St. James, Lincolnshire. Information to be given to Superintendent Harper, Great Driffield, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, June 7. Stolen on the 3rd instant, between 2 and 3, from the drawing- room of the house of D. A. Taylor, Esq., Linkfield- street, in the borough of Reigate : one silver champagne Challenge Cup, with inscription—' Won by Edward Nolan in ^- mile University Race' ; and three small silver round old- fashioned Tea Caddies. By two young men, one about 20 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high; dressed in a light loose tweed coat with tweed trousers and vest, dark com- plexion, no whiskers, very slightly built. The second is about 25 year3 of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high; dressed in dark tweed clothes, both wealing hard felt hats, dark sallow com- plexion, flat face with a small tuft of hair on chin. Both were respectably dressed. These men were stopped by the Police on the main road to Croydon, near the Caterham Railway Junction, and made their escape upon being followed by the Police. The short one was seen to throw a portion of the property away, which was recovered, broken up. They can be identified. Information to be given to Head Con- stable Rogers, Redhill, Surrey.— Bow- street, June 7. Absconded on the 22nd ultimo, from Margaret- street, Marylebone, stealiug a gold Geneva open- face Watch, gold dial, with gold Chain and Locket attached ; and £ 3 7s. 8d., the property of his employer : a youth, 16 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, and browu hair ; dressed in a dark mixture suit, and has a respectable appear- ance. Has some friends at Leicester, and is supposed to have gone there.— Metropolitan Police, E Division, June 7. Absconded from his lodging, Redhill, charged with stealing two black cloth Coats with pockets on hips, two Waistcoats, a pair of light- coloured Trousers, aud a pair of side- spring Boots, recently clumped : a man about 20 years of age, 5 feet inches high, dark hair aud complexion, face small and rather blotchy, and his upper teeth project v< hen talking; he worked as a plumber and painter's labourer, and has served 9 months in Petworth Gaol for stealiug clothes from Horsham. All reasonable expenses will be paid. In- formation to be given to Head Constable Rogers, Redhill, Surrey— Bow- street, June 4. Stolen between 8 and 9' 30 a. m. on the 29th ultimo, from a bedroom at the Duke of York public- house, Tunbridge Wells : a silver verge Watch, single case, has ' E. H.' marked on the back ; a dark blue Coat, three outside pockets, one a ticket pocket, and one inside le't breast ; a dark grey siugle- breasted Vest, three pockets ; a white and red Pocket- hand- kerchief ; and a briar- root Pipe; the property of George Eaves. By a man who lodged there one night : about 20 years of age, 5 feet 9 iuches high, dark hair, fair com- plexion, no whiskers or moustache; dressed in a black cloth suit, high black hat, and black necktie ; has the appearance of an hotel waiter or boots. Information to be giveu to Superintendent Embery, Town Hall, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. — Bow- street, June 4. Stolen about 2 a. m. oil the 2nd instant, from a dwelling- house in Sandbach : a pair of lace- up Boot?, a pair of water- tight ditto, a stuff Press, a dark Skirt, a dark winsey Skirt, a black merino Jacket, a scarf Shaw), four pairs of Stockings, a wool Shawl, a puce ditto, a plaid ditto, two woollen Scarves, seven Aprons, a Nightgown, a window Blind, a Chemise, a Skirt, four Pillow Slips, and a brown Umbrella, the property of Peter Bailey. By three forgemen who lodged in the house, and absconded at the time of the robbery : JAMES LYNCH, 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, light hair and complexion, sandy moustache; dressed in moleskin trousers, blue coat, worsted cap, and strong boots. MARTIN GAVIN, 22 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark hair and complexion ; dressed iu moleskin trousers, grey cloth jacket, aud worsted cap. MARTIN BROWN, 24 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, light hair and complexion, small sandy moustache ; dressed iu light grey clothes and cap. Information to be given to Superintendent Rowbottom, Con- stabulary Statiou, Middlewich, or to Inspector Hulme, Con- stabulary Station, Sandback, Cheshire, who holds a warrant for their apprehension.— Bow- street, June 4.
