The Names of Persons charged with Offences who are known but not in custody, and a Description of those who are not known, their Appearance, Dress, and other marlj of Identity. The Barnes of Accomplices and Accessories, with every particular which may lead to their Apprehension. W.," as they carrnot be published without j his authority. INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. On the 3rd inst., PETER CAMPBELL, alias MIDGE ! or MIDGIE, iu company with two other men now under remand, caused, by kicking, the death of Richard Morgan, at Liverpool : he is 21 or 22 years of age, 5 ftet 6 or 7 inches high, proportionate build, dark brown hair, cut short, no whiskers, beard, or moustache, blue or grey eyes, rather prominent and well formed nose, pale complexion inclined to fair, rather long oval face, good forehead, the first finger of the right hand or the second of the left hand bent and stiff from a cut inside ; dressed in an old shabby black frock coat, | which was rather short for him, dirty striped moleskin trousers in imitation of cloth, with black stripe down the aide, and a round Scotch or Bucco cap, with peak to match and knob on the top ; he is of low habits, frequenting the corners of streets and low public- houses, and has been in custody as a suspected character. Description of EDWIN BOOTH, a plane maker and native of Nottingham, charged with stabbing his wife Lucy Booth with a knife, with intent to murder, on the 15th inst., at Tamworth : he is 29 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, very slender built, pale complexion, light whiskers and mous- tache ; dressed in dirty drab overcoat, black trousers and billycock hat. Information to be given to Superintendent Bowen, Burton- on- Trent, or to Inspector Woollaston, Tam- worth, Staffordshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehen- sion.— Bow- street, August 24. Absconded from Portsmouth, charged with man- slaughter: JOHN KINCHLEA, about 60 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, dark hair, eyes, whiskers, and complexion, large mouth, and has lost third finger on right hand ; dressed in blue cloth monkey jacket, cord troustrs, round crowned black felt hat, lace- up boots, tipped and nailed, and black silk neckerchief. He is a native of Ireland, and speaks with Irish accent. Information to be given to Head Constable Barber, Portsmouth, Hants, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, August 17. On the 12th instant, the dead Body of a newly- born female Child was found in the mill stream at Newcutt Mill, in the parish of Sutton Wick. An inquest was held on the 13th instant, and a verdict of ' Wilful Murder' returned against some person or persons unknown; the body was wrapped in part of au old shirt, and appeared to have been in the water more than a month. Stolen from the person on the 22nd instant, between the National and Provincial Bank, Mosley- street, and St. Nicholas- square, Newcastle- on- Tyne : a black lea'her Pocket Case, containing two .£ 100 Bank of England Notes, Nos. 44310 and 44952 ; and fifteen £ b ditto, Nos. 87645, 67214, 67217, 93317, 64975, 58425, 55803, 89444, 71407, 50731, 77385, 38546, 74401-, 74402, and 77499. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Newcastle- on- Tyne.— Bow- street, Aug. 24. Stolen from the person at Weston- super- Mare Railway Station, at 7' 30 p. m. on the 17th inst. : a lady's gold Geneva Watch, No. 31073, ' A. N.' engraved on outside of case. In- formation to be given to Superintendent Gillbanks, Somerset Constabulary, Axbridge, or to Sergeant Hardwick, Police Station, Weston- super- Mare, Somersetshire. — Bow- street, August 24. Stolen from the person on the 20th instant, on the plat- form of the North Kent Railway Station, Gravesend, the following property : a gold open- faced keyless compensation balance- lever Watch, gentleman's size, by Parkinson and Frodsham, No. 3843, eight or ten jewel holes, letter of Hall mark in gold case about the year 1853; a gold open- faced Geneva Watch, No. 3794, engraved on the dome— Parkinson aud Frodsham, Loudon, painted on the dial— Parkinson and Frodsham; also a silver Geneva, ^- plate, No. 43024, engine- turned back, and garter in centre. On the 7th instant, Anne Braithwaite, domestic servant with Mr. Stanley, of Sibthorpe, was stopped on the highway, near Eastburn, in the parish of Kirkburn, by two men, and robbed of Five Shillings. Information to be given to Super- intendent Harper, East Riding Constabulary, Bainton Beacon.— Bow- street, August 21. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person, at the Juvenile Fete, Bat and Ball Meadow, Gravesend, on the 20th instant : A silver lever Watch. A silver lever Watch, white face, black figures, plain back. A gold lever Watch, maker McCabe. Information to be given to Superintendent Berry, Town Hall, Gravesend, Kent.— Bow- sireet, August 24. Stolen from the person on the 24th ult.: a gentleman's gold single- case Watch, seconds hand, white dial, indicator with figures 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15, goes fifteen days, ' O. L.' scratched inside of case, maker ' Contard,' on dial and works. £' i reward will be paid on recovery of the watch and apprehension of the offender. Stolen from the peraon at Ipswich Races, on the 20th inst,, » geld French verge Watch, very old, maker G. Marie, a BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Between 11p. m. on the 19th and 7 a. m. on the 20th inst., the dwelling- house of Mr. John Wood, glass engraver, John- street, Wordsley, in the county of Stafford, was bur- glariously entered, and the following property stolen therein : three Sovereigns, a gold keeper Ring, a breechloading double- barrelled revolver Pistol, silver mounted, five children's green and white Frocks, two white ditto, a woman's buff- coloured Dress, a woman's Petticoat, seven children's Chemises, three ditto Nightdresses, a Tablecloth, a pair of twill Sheets, three diaper Teacloths, ten white holland Pinafores, six women's Aprons, two babies' Skirts, and a white moselle Coat and Cape, cape braided. Entrance was effected by getting through the brewhouse window, which was left unfastened. Information to be given to Superinten- dent Mills, Britrley Hill, or at any Police Station in the county of Stafford.— Bow- street, August 24. On the 22nd instant, the dwelling- house of J. Ballard, of Great Totham, was entered, and the following articles stolen therefrom : a dark cloth Pilot Jacket, velvet collar ; two white calico Shirts; a pair of grey speckled Trousers, with elastic Braces attached; a white twilled silk Handker- chief, with mangle marks, marked ' C. B.'; and a white pocket Handkerchief. Supposed by a man 50 years of age, medium hight, and dressed in a light billycock hat, and short grey coat and trousers,— carrying two bundles, one white, the other red. Information to be given to Superintendent May, Police Station, Witham, Essex.— Bow- street, August 24. On the 14th instant, the dwelling- house of Chas. Jerom, of Risely Common, was entered, and the following money and articles stolen therein : eight Sovereigns, four Half- sovereigns, a pair of black cloth Trousers, and a woollen ShawL A man of the following description is suspected : 36 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion, hazel eyes ; dressed in a suit of dark clotEes and cap with peak. Information to be given to Superintendent Crook, Berks Constabulary Station, Reading.— Bow- street, August 21. Description of a youth charged with housebreaking at Selby, and stealing £ 4 in Gold, some Silver, and an old silver verge Watch, with some shoemaker's wax packed inside the back case to make it fit tight, and had attached a long brass Chain, snake pattern : 18 or 19 years of age, 5 feet 1 inch high, fresh complexion, brown hair, slight aud smart build, walks very fast, generally carries a cane, and is a basket maker ; dressed iu dark grey suit, or may be wearing a dark cloth coat and billycock hat; supposed to bo in London with some circus or theatre. Stolen from a field at Hindley during the night of the 19th instant: a bay mare Pony, 10 hands high, has two small cuts under one ear, full tail and mane, about 8 years old, in good condition, the property of Patrick Carroll. In- formation to be given to Superintendent Clarkson, County Constabulary, Pemberton, near Wigan, Lancashire.— Bow- street, August 24. Stolen from a field at Worton, on the 17th instant : two 6- tooth Rams, the property of Mr. Oram. Information to be given to Superintendent Woodman, Devizes, Wilts.— Bow- street, August 24. Stolen from Hexhamshire stinted pasture, since April last : forty- eight black- faced Sheep, marked with the letter W.' on near horn, the letter ' O.' cn off horn, and tar marked with the letter ' W.' on near side, the property of Mr. Thos. White, farmer, West Burn Hope, Hexhamshire ; also sixteen black- faced Sheep, marked with the letters ' T. P.' on the horns, and tar marked with a heart on the near side, the property of Mr. Thos. Pigg, farmer, Rowley Head. Hexham- shire. Information to be given to Superintendent Stephenson, Police, Hexham, Northumberland.— Bow- strcet, August 2L Description of ELIJAH GOSS, late of Whitechapel, London, charged with stealing eleven Cows and Heifers, of the value of .£ 250, from a field at Bitton, in the county of Gloucester, on the night of the 10th instant, the property of Mr. John Caple, farmer : he is about 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, slender make, dark hair, no whiskers or moustache, nose rather hcoked, and bow- legged ; is well known to all dt tiers and cattle drovers round London. £ 2 reward will be paid for his apprehension. Inforrrxtion to be given to Superintendent Rawle, Fishponds, near Bristol. — Boio- street, August 21. Stolen from a field near Burslem, Staffordshire, on the 6th instant: a light grey Colt, 2 years old, 13£ hands high, white star on forehead. £ 2 reward will be paid to any person giving such information as shall lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the horse. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Longden, Police Office, Burslem, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, Auqust 21. Stolen from a field at the Mumbles, near Swansea, on the night of the 4th instant, a brown Mare, aged, from 14 to 15 hands high, long switch tail, small lump on her back, and marks of collar galls on the shoulders. Information to be given to Superintendent Howlett, Neath, or to Sergeant Baker, Mumbles, Glamorganshire.— Bow- street, August 19. Stolen on the 11th or 12th instant, from a stable in Wharf- yard, Canning Town, West Ham: a black Mare, 6 years old, 15 hands high, mark on near side from a kick, in good condition ; also an old Saddle with no girth. By a man 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, full face, long nose, sandy beard and whiskers ; dressed in grey jacket, dark trousers) and billycock hat; had the appearance of a groom.— Metropolitan Police, K Division, August 19. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen from a field on Grant's Farm, iu the parish of Bampton, during the night of the 21st iustaut, the property of Mr. Edward Gooding: a chestnut Mare, 12 years old, about 16 hands high, has a white streak down the face, a little white above one hind hoof, marks of galls on the shoulders, and permanently lame in the near fore foot, it has been used as a hunter, and it is supposed that it has been ridden some LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Further information respecting M1CHL. McMANUS, advertised in the Police Gazette of the 7th instant, charged with stealing £ 700, the monies of the Corporation at Black- burn : he is 45 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, propor- tionate make, oval face, thin nose, small eyes, grey hair, probably dyed black, thin black whiskers, and no beard or moustache; dressed in a black surtout csat, light cloth trousers and vest, and black silk hat ; of respectable appear- ance, and a native of Hoghton, near . Blackburn. He will probably endeavour to go to America or the Continent. He has, under the name of J. Railton and Co., carried on the business of engineers, and supplied engines for Rotterdam, Holland, and Germany. £ 50 reward is offered for his appre- hension. Information to be given to Chief Constable Potts, Town Hall, Blackburn, Lancashire.— Bow- street, August 28. Charged with embezzlement in the City of London : SAMUEL RAYSON, a traveller, 26 years of age. about 5 feet 6 inches high, black wavy hair, black whiskers, no moustache, chin shavei', small weak hazel eyes, and pale face; dressed respectably. Stolen on the 23rd instant, from a dwelling- house iu Sand bach : a chocolate- coloured Indian silk Handkerchief; a pair of women's strong leather lace- up Boots, clump soles. By a lodger who absconded, about 24 years of age, 5 feet high, light hair anil complexion ; dressed in sleeved woollen cord vest, black cloth trousers, uud dogskin cap. DAVIES, late dispenser of medicine to the Northampton General Infirmary, who has absconded, and for whose apprehension a warrant has been issued, charging him with stealing a quantity of Quinine, value about £ 6, the property of the Governors of the said Description of EDWARD JARVIS, a private in Royal Institution, on the 13th instant : about 40 years of age, 6 feet Marine Artillery, charged with stealing on the 18th instant, 7 inches high, fresh complexion, dark curly hair, whiskers, at West Cowes : a brown mixture cloth Coat ; a Vest ; and and moustache, and small piercing eyes ; dressed iu a brown a pair of Trousers, both light colour ; a blue Necktie ; aud a billycock hat, and brown mixture suit. Was previously white chip hat: he is abeuc 30 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches employed at the General Hospital, Birmingham, is a native high, light br& wn hair, blue eyes, and fresh complexion ; is of Wales, well known at Cardiff, and has a son ia the Liver- supposed to be wearing the stolen clothes, and is a deserter pool Farm Reformatory School, Liverpool. Absconded from Flint on the 27th ultimo, charged with Rape : PATRICK MAUGHAN, 22 or 24 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout make, light brown hair, fresh com- Stolen from a dwelling- house in Crewe, on the 21st inst.: nine Sovereigns, and 14s. in different Coins. By a man who had been lodging in the house the previous night: he is about 34 years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, large sandy whiskers, all round the face, red complexion, dark hair; dressed in a pair of dark striped clotli trousers, blue flannel jacket, and brown cloth cap.
