DUBLIN, FRIDAY, JULY 17, 1874. ENGLISH POLICE. AN attempt is being made to place in circulation forged £ 5 Bank of England notes lettered £ and dated 11th March, 1874. The utterances have hitherto been effected at public- houses, and the notes given in payment for refreshment. The following is a description of the utterers : 1. An Englishman, 80 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inchos high, fair complexion, light hair, and tmall whiskers; dressed in light- coloured suit, with black billycock hat; will probably charge his dress frequently. 3. A foreigner ( supposed German or French), about 40 years of age, 6 feet 6 or 7 inches in height, dark complexion, hair and whiskers ( small), black moustache; dressed respectably, usually in dark clothes. DESCRIPTION of Michael Cullinan, native of Gorta- glough, who stands charged with having, on the 6th of July, 1874, in the barony of Inchiquin, parish of Inagh, maliciously set fire to the dwelling- house of his mother Margaret Cullinan, and stabbed her and his brother John Cullinan, with a hay fork, to prevent their exit from the burning premitfs:— Has rather downcast look, smart appearance, regular nose a little hollow between the eyes ; small blue eyes, regular nose, fresh florid complexion, long face, stcut make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 28 years of age, fair hair, small fair whiskers inclining to auburn, a little beard under chin ; wore a gray frieze frock coat, old tweed trowscrs and vest. John Catchpoole, native of Newmarket, county of Cork, stands charged with having, within the past two months, in the barony of Imokilly, parish of St. Mary, feloniously procured and supplied to a woman, a certain noxious drug with the intent to procure her miscarriage— she being at the time with child. The accused failed to attend at Youghal Petty Sessitns on 25th inst., as by recognizance bound to do, in answer to this charge; was seen in Cork city on 23rd inst., and will if possible emigrate.
