WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, at tixe hour of eight o'clock on the evening of the 26th April last, Mr. George Whitford, of Derrynasura, near Mountrath, in the Queen's County, was fired at and wounded by some person or persons at present unknown, when crossing his own yard from his stable to his dwelling- house: His Grace, for the better apprehending and bring- ing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of TWO HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such private information as shall lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who committed the same. By His Grace's Command, T. H. BURKE The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by Thomas Hamilton, esq., the Resident Magistrate at Maryborough, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of James Finan, Edward M'Guinness, James Gallagher, Michael Gallagher, and James M'Hugh, natives of Cappagh, who stand charged with having, on the 29th May, 1874, in the barony of Leyny, parish of Killoran, committed a grievous assault on Hugh Bowie, of Cappagh, whereby his life has been placed in danger:— 1. James Finan— Mark of an old cut on first finger of right hand; blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 21 years of age. 2. Edward M'Guinness— Stooped shoulders ; gray eyes, cocked nose, fresh complexion, large mouth, slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 21 years of age. 3. James Gallagher— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh ccmplexi ® n, black hair, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age. 4. Michael Gallagher— Blue eyes, ' short nose, sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 19 years of age. 5. James M'Hugh— Dark eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 22 years of age. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Dooley, native of Foxboro', and Thomas Ryan, native of Ballinakill, who stand charged with having, on the 11th day of May, 1874, in the barony of Upper Ormond, parish of Aghna- meadle, assaulted John Gleeson, at Park, county Tipperary, by striking him with stones on the head, and kicking him, thereby endangering his life: — 1. Patrick Dooley, fresh cut mark over right eye, and he has a large mouth, very red face; hazel eyes, regular nose, red complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 30 years of age, red hair; wore ordinary country dress. 2.
