G- S" All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry, are to be transmitted under cover addressed to the Inspector- General of Constabulary. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, o. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DUBLIN, FRIDAY, APRIL 17, 1874. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. G Divison. DESCRIPTIVE particulars of licensed convict Robert Finlay ( 18878), who has broken the conditions of his licence in failing to report himself to. the Police, on his discharge:— Convicted at Dublin City, at Commission, on Uth February, 1870, of larceny^ of jewellery, and sen- tenced to 5 years'penal servitude; 69 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Protestant, married ; is a master mariner; born at Pimlico, resided before conviction at Liverpool; brown hair, bald, gray eyes, left eye tender, light brown eyebrows, large nose with a cut on point, large mouth, cut- mark on upper lip, sallow complexion ; large, oval visage; stout make, 6 feet inches high ; tattooed on both arms, viz a crucifix on left arm above the elbow, with the figure of a female and a of sailor and R. F. F. E. B. below tbe elbow, on same arm, also Britannia with the figure of a female and of a sailor on right arm. The above- named convict was released from Spike Island Prison, on 18th March, 1874, on an order of licence. It appears by a report from the Dublin Metropolitan Police, that this convict did not report himself, on discharge at the Police- office, Exchange- court, Duhlin, nor has he done so up to the present. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the " Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871" ( 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 113). DESCRIPTION of Riahard Murphy, who is charged, with having feloniously personated another person at the late Parliamentary Elections for the borough of Dublin, held on the 6th ult.:— He is about Lfl years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, medium make, dark complexion and dark hair, brown or d^ rk colour eyes, walks erect with a smart gait, generally wears dark colour clothes, he is a grocerjjs assistant, and was so employed some time ago at Taghmon, county Wexford, which is his native town. DESCRIPTION of Alexander Gordon, native of Tully- rawley, who ^ stands charged with having, on the night of the 21st February, at Ballywatermoy, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Craigs, inflicted wounds on tlie head of John Treacy, of Dunmining, from the effects of which he died on the 24th:— Very smart active appearance, rather slender make, downcast look; regular nose, dark complexion, sharp face, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 80 years of age, dark hair; shaved his cheeks on a line with mouth, wore his beard from that round and under chin, no moustache; wore a cloth cap with rough edging, moleskin jacket, cord trowsers. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Moore, native of Belfast, who stands charged with having, on the 81st March, 1874, in the barony of Upper Belfast, parish of Shankill, stolen a box of linen yarn, the property of John Smith:— Sear on right eyebrow and on each of right fingers ; brown eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, medium make, 5 feet 8^- inches high, about 29 year* of age, dark brown hair ; wore a gray Albert overcoat with velvet collar, dark gray trowsers; is a French- polisher by trade, and « i; jr be found at Manchester or some other largo city or town ; is an habitual criminal under Police supervision for two years, from 80th September, 1873. DESCRIPTION of James Smith alias Jumper Smith ^ native of county Monaghan, who stands charged with having, in the barony of Upper Belfast, parish of Shankill, absconded to evade trial at Assizes, for serving threatening notices during the riots atBelfast in August, 1872 :— Scar on left temple, tuft of Hack hair on chin; brown eyes, straight nose, sallow com- plexion, oval face, proportionate make, 6 feet £ inch high, about 80 years of age, black hair; wore a soiled black cloth cap with peak and broad crown such as is worn by navvies, short blue coat ( much worn), moleskin trowsers and vest, navvy boots. DESCRIPTION of Cornelius Driscoll, native of Ballinlough, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 20th inst., in the barony of East Car- beiy, West Division, parish of Kilmacabea, struck Denis Driscoll a blow of a stick on the head, from the effects of which he died on the following morn- ing :— Brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, lather long tace, stout make, 6 feet 7^ inches hight about 35 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a soft round hat, blue coat and trowsers ; smart intelligent appearance; has a very keen look about the eyes, and has the appearance of a man of determination; his hair hangs about the sides of his head as if recently wetted, it is long and straight and rather thin. DESCRIPTION of John M'Hale and Michael M'Hale, natives of Ballygarden, who stand charged with having, on the 28th of January, 1874, in the barony of Carra, parish of Turlough, assaulted James M'Hale, of Ballygarden, so as to endanger his life :— 1. John M'Hale— Short- sighted; gray eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair, no beard or whiskers; wore a frieze coat, cord trowsers. 2. Michael M'Hale— Walks as if he had a halt on right side 5 may have a fresh cut on face and head; gray eye.^ large nose, pale complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 20 years of oge, fair hair ; wore a flannel coat, cord trowsers.
