SCOTTISH POLICE. £ 50 REWARD. WHEREAS, on the night of Thursday, 19th, or early on the morning of Friday, 20th February last, the Mansion House at Preston, near Linlithgow, was broken into and a quantity of valuable silver plate carried off: the above sum of £ 50 will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to the recovery of the property and to the apprehen- sion and conviction of the offenders. Information to be given to Chief Constable, Lin- lithgow, or at the nearest Police Station. Constabulary Office, Linlithgow, March 19, 1874. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULABY. Antrim. DESCRIPTION of Alexander Gordon, native of Tully- rawley, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 21st February, at Bally watermoy, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Craigs, inflicted wounds on the head of John Treacy, of Dunmining, from the effects of which be died on the 24th :— Very smart active appearance, rather slender make, downcast look ; regular nose dark complexion, sharp face, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; shaved his cheeks on aMine with mouth, wore his beard from that round and under chin, no moustache; wore a cloth cap with rough edging, moleskin jacket, cord trowsers. The Coroner's Jury found him guilty of homicide, and a Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Royal Irish Constabulary at Ballymena. Ballymena, February 26, 1874." ( c. 862— 1519.) DESCRIPTION of Cornelius Driscoll, native of Ballinlough, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 20th inst., in the barony of East Car- bery, West Division, parish of Kilmacabea, struck Denis Driscoll a blow of a stick on the head, from the effects of which he died on the following morn- ing :— Brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, lather long face, stout make, 5 feet inches high, about 85 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a soft round hat, blue coat and trowsers; smart intelligent appearance; has a very keen look about the eyes, and has the appearance of a man of determination; his hair hangs about the sides of his head as if recently wetted, it is long and straight and rather thin. Philip Maguire alias Roe— Holds his head down when walking ; gray tender eyes, regular nose, sandy complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age; wore a green necktie with a harp on it. 2. DESCRIPTION of John Farrell, native of Claddagh, Galway, who stands charged wjth having, on the 14th March, 1874, in the barony of Clonmacnowen, parish of Kilcloony, and town of Ballinasloe, absconded with £ 9, the price of a cow, the property of Thomas Fahy and Martin Fay, of Kilclooney :— Supposed to have blue marks on his arms, has a military appearance ; brownish eyes, regular nose, pale red complexion under eyes, long thin face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 45 or 46 years of age, brown hair turning gray, getting bald on top of head, black moustache, no whiskers ; wore a round hat, gray frieze outside coat, black tweed frock coat, black corduroy trowsers, black cloth vest. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Joyce, junior, native ot Glenbeg West; Michael Joyce, native of Maam- trasna; William O'Brien, native of Cummer; Thomas O'Brien, native of Kilbride; John O'Brien, native of Kilmore; and Denis O'Brien and Michael O'Brien, natives of Kilbride ; who stand charged with having, on the 2nd February, 1874, in the barony of Ross, parish of Ballinchalla, assaulted Martin Collins, of Maamtrasna, so as to endanger his life:— 1. Patrick Joyce, junior— Pockmarked, wants first joint of thumb of right hand, walks slovenly ; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair ; wore a black cloth cap, dark frieze coat, barracan trowsers, dark tweed vest. 2. Michael Joyce— walks slovenly, has a cunning appearance; dark eyes, regular nose, sallow com- plexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, about 19 years of age, black hair ; wore a low hat, black frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black frieze vest 8. William O'Brien— wears all his beard except a small portion on the chin ; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 25 years of age, very fair hair ; wore a white hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. 4. Thomas O'Brien— Loose appearance; gray eyes, long nose, fair complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 80 years of age, black hair; wore a low round hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. 5. John O'Brien— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, very stout make, 6 feet 4 incites high, about 83 years of age, very fair hair; wore a low round hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. 6. Denis O'Brien— Dark eyes, thick nose, dark complexion, regular face, very stout make, 5 feet 8 or 4 inches high, about 28 years of ago; wore a black jerry hat, dark frieze coat, dark trowsers and vest. 7. DESCRIPTION of John Cassidy, native of Sonaghbeg, who stands charged with having, on the 20th March, 1874, at Sonaghbeg, in the barony of Mohill, parish of Cloone, struck Bernard Conlon with a spade on the head, from the effects of which his life is in danger:— Short neck, bow- legged, very wide nostrils, and very active appearance ; blue eyes, long thin nose, sallow complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 86 years of age, black hair, wore all his whiskers*( very black) ; wore a jerry hat, blue frock coat, white cord trowsers, dark tweed vest. A Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Royal Irish Constabulary at Cloone. Mohill, March 21, 1874. ( o. 1173— 2169.) DESCRIPTION of James Wallace, native of Dromod, who, on the 14th of January, 1874, left his home, in the barony of Mohill, parish of Annaduff, to go to Cloonkeel, Killashee, county Longford, and has not since returned, and is supposed to have met with foul play :— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, small face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 35 years of age, fair hair; he wore all his beard, which is fair; wore a round hat, light- coloured coat, tweed trowsers and vest. DUBLIN CASTLE, 7th February, 1874. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, at the hour of nine o'clock, on the evening of the 4th instant. John Walsh, butcher, of Askeaton, in the county of Limerick, while standing at his own door, was fired at and killed by some person or persons unknown : His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the person or persons who committed the same. By His Excellency's command, T. H. BURKE. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by C. De Gernon, the Resident Magistrate at Rathkeale, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Reale, native of Knockroe, who stands charged with having, on the 4th inst., in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Grean, fractured the skull of John Meehan, who died from the effects thereof on 6th inst. :— Very broad shoulders, slowhing walk; blue eyes, long thin nose, swarthy complexion, long face, medium make, 6 feet 1 inch high, about 24 years of age, brown hair; wore a low ierry hat, dark tweed trowsers, tweed vest. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, on the evening of the 6th of January last, Mr. Richard A. Fitzgerald, the accountant of the National Bank at Castlebar, when returning from Newport, in the county of Mayo, was fired at and wounded by some person or persons at present unknown, and the cash- box, containing a large sum of money, the property of the Bank, was forcibly carried off by the said person or persons : His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same ; and a reward of FIFTY POUNDS the same period, shall lead to the to any person who shall, within give such private information as same result. By His Excellency's command, T. H. BURKE. The above rewards will be paid, on conviction, by Rodolphus Harvey, esq., the Resident Magistral at Castlebar, to those who may become entitled to Jf them under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of John M'Hale and Michael M'Hale, natives of Ballygarden, who stand charged with having, on the 28th of January, 1874, in the barony of Carra, parish of Turlough, assaulted Ja M'Hale, of Hallygarden, so as to endanger his lite :— 1. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Frain, native of Kilgai iff, who stands charged with having, on the 12th No vember, 1873, at Kilgariff, in the barony of Costello, parish of Kilebeagh, grievously assaulted Patrick M'Donogh, by striking him with a stone on the head, thereby endangering his life:— Short thick nose, short neck, high cheek bones ; mark of an old cut on forehead ; rather broad face ; brown eyes, red complexion, stout make, 6 feet 8 inches high, about 80 years of age, brown hair; wore a round hat or cap, dark frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, frieze vest.
