No Description can bo inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Lawton, who absconded from Wakefield, Yorkshire, on or about the 4th inst., charged on Warrant with embezzlement:— Aged about 86 years, height 5 feet 9 or 10 inches, sallow complexion, black hair, bald on top of head, dark brown whiskers ( rather thin), wore his beard but no moustache, thick under- lip, long visage, high cheekbones and thin cheeks; a clerk and a native of Yorkshire; dressed in dark mixture cloth suit and black felt billycock hat. DESCRIPTION of Alexander Gordon, native of Tully- rawley, who stands charged with having, on the night of tho 2lst February, at Ballywatermoy, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Craigs, inflicted wounds on the head of John Treacy, of Dunmining, from th « effects of which he di » d on the 24th : Very smart active appearance, rather slender make, downcast look ; regular nose, dark complexion, sharp face, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 80 years of age, dark hair; shaved his cheeks on a line with mouth, wore his beard fro in that round and under chin, no moustache ; wore a cloth cap with rough edging, moleskin jacket, c> rd trowsers. DESCRIPTION of Cornelius Driscoll, native of Ballinlough, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 20th inst., in the barony of East Cnr- bery, West Division, parish of Kilmacabea, struck Denis Driscoll w blow of a stick on the head, from the effect* of which he died on the following morn- ing :— Brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, rather long face, stout make, 5 feet inches high. about 35 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a soft round hat, blue coat and trowsers ; smart intelligent appearance; has a very keen look about the eyes, and has the appearance of a man of determination ; his hair hangs about the sides of his head as if recently wetted, it is long and straight and rather thin. DESCRIPTION of Philip Maguire alias Roe, native of Gortahurk, aud Joseph M'Intyre or M'Intaggart, native of Aughyoule, who stand charged with havicg, on the 17th day of March, 1874, in the barony of Knockninny, parish of Tomregan, with others, grievously assaulted Michael Maguire, by striking him on the head with sticks or loaded butts, from the effects of which his life is in danger :— 1. Philip Maguire alias Roe— Holds his head down when walkings gray tender eyes, regular nose, sandy complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age; wore a green necktie with a harp on it. 2. Joseph M'Intyre or M'Intaggart— Gray eyes, regular nose, sandy complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 18 years of age. Arney, March 20, 1874. ( c. 1158— 2120.) Galway. DESCRIPTION of licensed convict Michael Whelan ( 13280), who has broken the conditions of his licence in omitting to report himself to the Police on change of residence:— Convicted at Ballinasloe. county Galway, at Michaelmas Sessions, on 22nd October, 1868, for nssault occasioning actual bodily harm, and certi- ficate of former conviction, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude; 40 years of age on conviction, can read and write a little, is a Roman Catholic, married; a dealer by trade; born at Ballinasloe, county Gal way; resided before conviction in Loughrea and Galway, where he has friends residing; brown hair, gray hazel eyes, brown eyebrows, thick prominent nose, small close mouth, fresh complexion, long visage, stout make, 5 feet 3^ inches high; two cut- marks on back of head ; a small cut- mark on right eyebrow ; a cut- mark on cap of left knee ; a cut- mark at end of left thumb ; a large wart on back. The above- named convict was released from Spike Island Prison, on the 26th February, 1874, on an order of licence. It appears by a report from the Metropolitan Police, that this prisoner ( who had informed the Liverpool Police of his intention of removing to Dublin,) has not reported himself at the latter place. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the " Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871" ( 34 and 36 Vic., cap. 112). William O'Brien— wears all his beard except a small portion on the chin ; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexioa, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 25 jears of age, very fair hair; wore a white hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest 4 Thomas O'Brien— Loose appearances gray eyes, long nose, fair complexion, long face, stout make, 6 fe<- t 10 inches high, about 30 years of ag3, black hair; wore a low round hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trow<- ers and vest. 5. DESCRIPTION of James Wallace, native of Dromod, who, on the 14th of January, 1874, left his home, in the barony of Mohill, parish of Annaduff, to go to Cloonkeel, Killashee, county Longford, and has not since returned, and is supposed to have met with foul play :— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, small face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 35 years of age, fair hair; he wore all his beard, which is fair; wore a round hat, light- coloured coat, tweed trowsers and vest. DUBLIN CASTLE, 7th February, 1874. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, at the hour of nine o'clock, on the evening of the 4th instant. John Walsh, butcher, of Askeaton, in the county of Limerick, while standing at his own door, was fired at and killed by some person or persons unknown : His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any pers n or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the person or persons who committed the same. By His Excellency's command, T. H. BURKE. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by C. De Gernon, the Resident Magistrate at Rathkeale, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DUBLIN CASTLE, 6th February, 1874. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, on the evening of the 6th of January last, Mr. Richard A. Fitzgerald, the accountant of the National Bank at Castlebar, when returning from Newport, in the county of Mayo, was fired at and wounded by some person or persons at present unknown, and the cash- box, containing a large sum of money, the property of the Bank, was forcibly carried off by the said person or persons: His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same; and a reward of FIFTY POUNDS to any person who shall, within the same period, give such private information as shall lead same result. By His Excellency's command, T. H. BURKE.
