Convict Michael Leech, 18027, who has broken tho conditions of his licence, in having left Dublin without reporting his departure to the Metropolitan Police, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 24th January, 1878. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY. Antrim. DESCRIPTION of Alexander Gordon, native of Tully- rawley, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 21st February, at Ballywatermoy, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Craigs, inflicted wounds on the head of John Treacy, of Dunmining, from the effects of which be died on the 24th :— Very smart active appearance, rather slender make, downcast look ; regular nose, dark complexion, sharp face, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 80 years of age, dark hair; shaved his cheeks on a line with mouth, wore his beard from that round and under chin, no moustache; wore a cloth cap with rough cJRing, moleskin jacket, cord trowsers. The Coroner's Jury found him guilty of homicide, and a Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Royal Irish Constabulary at Ballymena. Ballymena, February 26, 1874. ( c. 862— 1519.) DESCRIPTION of convict James Atkinson, 2210, who has broken the conditions of his licfence in not reporting himself to the Constabulary :— Convicted at Lurgan, county Armagh, at Hilary sessions, on 6th January, 1868, for larceny, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude; 18 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is an Episcopalian, single, a tailor, prison trade a labourer; was born at Hamilstown. county Armagh; he resided before con- viction in Markethill, county Armagh; brown hair, hazel eyes, brown eyebrows, thick nose, large mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 2^ inches high ; cut- mark on left thumb ; two small Fpots, thus— on middle of back; a brown mole on throat The above- named convict was released from Lusk Prison, 5th April, 1873, on an order of licence. The Constabulary at Dock- street Station, Belfast, report that Atkinson, who was residing in that district since his discharge, has failed to report himself at that station, on the 1st instant. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under the 5tli section of the " Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871," ( 84 and 85 Vic., cap. 112). Belfast DESCRIPTION of John Williamson, native of Connor, county Down, who stands charged, on the oath of his sureties, with having absconded for the purpose ^ if evading justice, he having been admitted to bail order of the Court of Queen's Bench, conditioned for his appearance at the next Spring assizes to be held at Belfast, to stand his trial on a charge of firing a loaded revolver at Sub- Constables Roderick Kehoe, James Jordan, and John Hughes, on the 9th Octo- ber, 1873, in the barony of Upper Belfast, and parish of Shankill :— Surly appearance, dark sunken eyes ; regular nose, dark complexion, round shaven face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 85 years of age, brown hair; wore a silk hat, gray Ulster overcoat, gray tweed trowsers and vest; wears two gold rings on each hand, and a long gold chain recently purchased; is a dealer in old brass and copper. DESCRIPTION of Michael Mahony, supposed native of neighbourhood of Lismore, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd March, 1874, in the barony of Condons and Clangibbon, parish of Kilworth, stolen 9 sheep, the property of David Condon, and 3 sheep belonging to Michael Bulman :— Drooped thoidders ; long nose, fresh complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair; wore a low jerry hat, long blue pilot coat, dark tweed trowsers. Fermoy, March 7, 1874. ( c. 985— 1732.) DESCRIPTION of the under- named boy, who on the evening of 5th March, 1874, absconded from the Greenmount Industrial School at Cork. Thomas Looney ( No. 55), 11 years of age, 4 feet 4 inches high, spare make, dark complexion, dark hair, dark eyes, short nosa, large mouth, imperfect visage ( right eye is blind); formerly belonged to Passage West, county Cork; his father is in New Zealand. The school dress, all with Industrial School stamp, consists of— dark tweed jacket, blue cotton stockic gs, Blucher boots with nails. The Manager of the Industrial School will defray the expense of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. Office of Inspector of Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Dublin Castle, 9th March, 1874. DESCRIPTION of English licensed ( military) convict ( No. 91) John Hurley, who has broken the con- ditions of his licence in failing to report himself to the Constabulary of the county Cork, where he was residing, and from which county he did not report his intention to depart:— Convicted at Cannamore, by General Court- martial, on 2nd November, 1866, for assault cn superior officer, and sentenced to 8 years' penal servitude; 27 years of age on conviction; dark brown hair, hazel eyes, fresh complexion, 5 feet 9 inches high; woman, bird, clock, and angel marked on breast, end bracelet on right and left breast. The above- named convict was released from M'll- bank Prison cn the 22nd November, 1873, on an order of licence. It appears, by a report from the Constabulary, dated 17th ultimo, that this prisoner omitted to re- port himself at the Constabulary Station at Middle- ton ( where he resided) for a period of over one month. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Prevention of Crimes Act, 1871, 84 and 85 Vic., cap. 112. Government Prisons Office, Dublin Castle, March 4, 1874. DESCRIPTION of the under- named young offender, who, on the evening of 22nd February, 1874, ab sconded from the St. Patrick's Reformatory School at Upton:— John O'Donnell, 14 years of age, 4 feet 10 inches high, slight make, fresh complexion, slightly pock- marked, fair hair, blue eyes, rather long nose, big mouth, long visage; formerly belonged to Cappa- white; his parents reside at Cappawhite, county Tipperary. The school dress consists of— light corduroy trow- sers and sleeved waistcoat, with drab tunic over, blue striped shirt, all with Reformatory stamp— thebuttons also are stamped— Scotch cap, scarf, nailed boots. It is supposed that he will make his way to Tip- perary or Clonmel. The Manager of the Reformatory, will defray tha expense of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 2. Office of Inspector of Reformatory and Industrial Schools, Dublin Castle, 26th February, 1874. DESCRIPTION of Cornelius Driscoll, native of Ballinlough, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 20th inst., in the barony of East Car- bery, West Division, parish of Kilmacabea, struck Denis Driscoll a blow of a stick on the head, from the effects of which he died on the following morn- ing :— Brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, rather long face, stout make, 5 feet 7$ inches high, about 35 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a soft round hat, blue coat and trowsers ; smart intelligent appearance; has a very keen look about the eyes, and has the appearance of a man of determination ; his hair hangs about the sides of his head as if recently wetted, it is long and straight and rather thin. Has been in America and speaks with a slight American accent; he will certainly endeavour to get back to Am6ric8n Skibbereen, Oct. 28, 1878. ( o. 60440— 19044.) DESCRIPTION of a cow, the property of Mary Jane Moore, which was stolen from her byre, at Ballyna- hatty, barony of Upper Castlereagh, parish of Drumbo, on the night of 8rd March, 1874, viz.:— A strawberry- colour cow, with red and whitespots on sides, well bred, with short horns inclining inwards in front; is in calf, and value for about jC20. DESCRIPTION of John M'Creight, native of Down, who stands charged with having, on the 8rd day of March, 1874, in the barony of Iveagh, parish of Maghera, abscondod for the purpose of evading justice, he having been admitted to bail to take his trial on a charge of cattle- stealing:— Respectable appearance; gray eyes, long pointed nose, sallow complexion, fresh face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair; wore a round black hat, black oilcloth overcoat, velvet coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. Patrick Joyce, junior— Pockmarked, wants first joint of thumb of right hand, walks slovenly; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair; wore a black cloth cap, dark frieze coat, barracan trowsi rs, dark tweed vest. 2. Michael Joyce— walks slovenly, has a cunning appearance; dark eyes, regular nose, sallow com- plexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, about 19 years of age, black hair; wore a low hat, black frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black frieze vest 3. William O'Brien— wears all his beard except a small portion on the chin ; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 25 years of age, very fair hair; wore a white hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. 4. Thomas O'Brien— Loose appearance; gray eyes, long nose, fair complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 80 years of age, black hair; wore a low round hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. 5. John O'Brien— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, very stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 88 years of age, very fair hair; wore a low round hat, dark frieze coat, dark tweed trjwsers and vest. 6. Denis O'Brien— Dark eyes, thick nose, dark complexion, regular face, very stout make, 5 feet 8 or 4 inches high, about 28 years of age; wore a black jerry hat, dark frieze coat, dark trowsers and vest. 7. Michael O'Brien— Dark eyes, short nose, dark complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 40 years of age, black hair; wore a low round hat, black frieze coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest. DESCRIPTION of James Wallace, native of Dromod, who, on the 14th of January, 1874, left his home, in the barony of Mohill, parish of Annaduff, to go to Cloonkeel, Killashee, county Longford, and has not since returned, and is supposed to have met with foul play :— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, small face, medium make, 5 feet 0 inches high, about 35 years of age, fair hair; he wore all his beard, which is fair; wore a round hat, light- coloured coat, tweed trowsers and vest. DUBLIN CASTLE, 7th February, 1874. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, at the hour of nine o'clock, on the evening of the 4th instant John Walsh, butcher, of Askeaton, in the county of Limerick, while standing at his own door, was fired at and killed by some person or persons unknown : His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons ' who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the person or persons who committed the same. By His Excellency's command, T. H. BURKE. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by C. De Gernon, the Resident Magistrate at Rathkeale, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Reale, native of Knockroe, who stands charged with having, on the 4th inst., in the barorty of Coonagh, parish of Grean, fractured the skull of John Meehan, who died from the effects thereof on 6th inst. :— Very broad shoulders, slouching walk; blue eyes, long thin nose, swarthy complexion, long face, medium make, 6 feet 1 inch high, about 24 years of age, brown hair; wore a low ierry hat, dark tweed trowsers, tweed vest. DESCRIPTION of Richard Hughes, native of Rose- garland, and Peter Laggan, alias Todd, native of Motallee, who stand charged with having, on tho evening of the 12th February, 1874, in the barony of Loughinsholin, parish of Desertmartin, waylaid and violently assaulted John Trainor, of Drumsamney, from the effects of which he is since unable to leave his bed:— 1. Richard Hughes— Blue eyes ( shows a good deal of white), long nose, very fair compleiion, oval face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, fair hair, fair whiskers and beard under chin no moustache ; wore a black coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed sleeved vest; thin and young- looking; his cheeks are red and freeh- looking. 2. Peter Laggan, alias Todd— Stooped shoulders and awkward gait; gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 28 years of age, dark hair, small dark whiskers; wore a black tweed coat, cord trowsers, sleeved vest* Magherafelt, Feb. 19, 1874.
