DUBLIN, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 1874. SCOTTISH POLICE. CITY OF GLASGOW POLICE. EMBEZZLEMENT oy £ 1,600. WANTED, on Warrant, for embezzlement of this sutn, belonging to Messrs. James Miller, Son and Company, Union- street— Hugh Wilson, cashier to said firm, 28 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout made, dark hair, dark gray eyes, dark brown whiskers, beard, and moustache, sallow complexion, talks quickly, and walks smart, speaks with strong Scotch accent, generally wears drsi gaiters over his boots; dressed in dark gray marled coat and vest, and small low- crowned felt hat. Absconded on 22nd instant. Police Officers are requested to make particular search and inquiry for this man, and those stationed nt seaport towns are requested to watch shipping, and if found to apprehend and communicate with the subscriber. The after- described two men, who are brothers, are strongly suspected of being concerned in the jewel robbery here on the 6th or 7th December, 1873, and, as they are supposed to be in possession of part of the stolen jewellery, Police officers are requested to use every exertion in tracing out their where- abouts, and, should any of the stolen property be traced to the possession of either of them, apprehend, detain, and communicate with the subscriber:— Peter Graham— 23 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches in height, slender make, face thin and pale, hair black, 6hort thin black whiskers, marks of old sores on neck behind jaw, and a native of England. Michael Graham— private soldier in the Royal Artillery, presently stationed in Limerick — see " Police Gazette " of 6th January current, where he is returned as a deserter. He was in Dundee on furlough at the time of the robbery. He is 19£ years of age, 5 feet 6J inches in height, hair black, eyes hazel, scar on back of left leg, born in New- castle- on- Tyue. DESCRIPTION of Cornelius Driscoll, native of Ballinlough, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 20th inst., in the barony of East Car- bery, West Division, parish of Kilmacabea, struck Denis Driscoll a blow of a stick on the head, from the effects of which he died on the following morn- ing :— Brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, rather long face, stout make, 5 feet 7- J inches high, about 35 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a soft round hat, blue coat and trowsers ; smart intelligent appearance; has a very keen look about the eyes, and has the appearance of a man of determination ; his hair hangs about the sides of his head as if recently wetted, it is long and straight and rather thin. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, at the hour of nine o'clock, on the eve' ing of the 4th instant John Walsh, butcher, ot Askeator, in the county of Limerick, while standing at hU own door, was fired at and killed by some person or persons unknown : His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this murder, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within sir months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the person or persons who committed the same. By His Excellency's command, T. H. BURKE. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by C. De Gernon, the Resident Magistrate at Rathleale, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of Philip Purcell and Thomas Purcell, brothers, natives of Highpark, who stand charged with having, on the 12th of January, 1874, in the barony of Smallcounty, parish of Cahircorney, assaulted Timothy Corbett, and struck him with a stone on his head, thereby causing a fracture of the skull, from the effects of which he now lies danger- ously ill in the county Infirmary :— 1. Philip Purcell Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 20 years of age, dark brown hair ; wore a jerry hat, dark frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark tweed vest. 2. DESCRIPTION of George Ferguson, builder, native of the city of Derry, who stands charged with having, on the 21 st November, 1873, in the bsrony of Nortli- West Liberties, parish of Templemore, and city of Derry, obtained, by means of a forged bill of ex- change, the sum of £ 7 5 from the Bank of Ireland :— Very florid complexion ; a tattoo mark, like a ring, on one of his fingers ; bald on the top of his head ; small whiskers turning gray; dark eyes, regular nose, round tace, square build, 5 feet 6 or 7 inche9 high, about 45 years of age, dark hair; wore a tall silk hat, dark shoo'ing coat, dark trowsers and vest. WHEREAS it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that, on tho < vening of the 6th of January last, Mr. Richard A Fitzgerald, the accountant of the National Bank at Castlcbar. when returning from Newport, in the county of Mayo, was fired at and wounded by some person or persons at present unknown, and the cash- box, containing a large sum of money, the property of the bank, was forcibly carried off by the said person or persons: His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same; and a reward of FIFTY POUNDS to any person who shall, within the same period, give such private information as shall lead to the same result. By His Excellency's command, T. H. BURke. The above rewards will be paid, on conviction, by Rodolphus Harvey, esq., the Resident Magistrate at Castle bar, to those who may become entitled to them under the conditions of this Proclamation. DESCRIPTION of John M'Hale and Michael M Hale, natives of Ballygarden, who stand charged with having, on the 28th of January, 1874, in the barony of Carra, parish of Turlough, assaulted James M'Hale, of ballygarden so n « to endanger his life :— 1. John M'Hale— Short- sighted; gray eyes, short r> o? e, sal'ow complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair, no beard or whiskers; wore a frieze coat, cord trowsers. 2. Michael M'Hale— Walks as if he had a halt on right S'de; may have a fresh cut on face and head ; gray eyes, large nose, pale complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a flannel coat, cord trowsers. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Frain, native of Kilgaiiff, who stands charged with having, on the 12th No- vember, 1873, at Kilgariff, in the barony of Costello, parish of Kilebeagh, grievously assaulted Patrick M'Donogh, by striking him with a stone on the head, thereby endangering his life :— Short thick nose, short neck, high chck bones ; mark of an old cut on forehead; rather broad face ; brown eys, red complexion, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 80 years of age, brown hair; wore a round hat or cap, dark frig frock coat, cord trowsers, frieze vest.
