Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- Rcnded, and tho Name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the Offence chargcd, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to tho Editor for insertion. As no charge is made for the insertion of any aiticle in the POLICE GAZETTE, all Letters addressed to the Editor must be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. It is requested that the names and Descriptions of Deserters and Absentees from tho Militia, as well as those from tho regular Army, intended for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, may be addressed to " The Under Secretary of State for War, War Office, Pall Mall, London, S. INFORMATIONS. to Sergeant Whitting, Police Station, Kilmersdon, Radstock, Bath, Somerset, who holds a warrint for his apprehension.— Bow- street, January 16. Stolen on the night of the 11th instant, from the parsonage, Charter House, Hinton, which was burglariously entered : a tortoise- shell Musical Box, 31 by inches, plays two tunes, gold hinges and rim ; ind a gold plated Picture, under glass cover on the top, of trees, stag, and dogs. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Morgan, County Police Station, Upper Bristol- road, Bath .— Bow- street, January 14. During the night of the 8th or morning of the 9th inst., the Duke of Marlborough publichouse in St. Alban's was burglariously entered, aud six bottles of Spirits— gin, rum, and brandy— was stolen therein, each bottle was capsuled with the name ' C. Curtis, Distiler, Mile End, London.' Information to be given to Superintendent Pike, Police Office, St. Alban's, Herts.— Bow- striet, January 12. Stolen by means of housebreaking at Woking, on the 8th instant : a single breasted black cloth Coat; a double- breasted Waistcoat; a blue sliol t cloth coat, with brass buttons, marked ' Brookwood Asylum a blue cloth Waist- coat, with black buttons ; a spotted cloth Waistcoat and Trousers ; a pair of black cloth Trousers ; and a table Cloth. By a mau of the following description, who was seen leaving the house at 11 o'clock in the day, carrying a bundle, aud was traccd to Blackwater : he is about 5 feet 7 iuches high, 30 years of age, dark whiskers and moustache ; dressed in a round felt hat, and dark clothes. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Barker, Surrey Constabulary, Guildford.— Bov- street, January 12. The house of the Right Hon. Sir Prederick Peel, Knight, situate at Hampton- in- Arden, Warwickshire, was bur- glariously broken iuto and entered on the night of the 7th instant, and the following property stolen therein : nine gold Mounts to scent bottles, two ditto to soap dishes, one ditto to tooth- brush tray, and a small silver Knife, Fork, and brown whisker's, slight sandy moustache, and very regular Spoon, all engraved ' J. The three men advertised iu the Police Gazette of the 9th instant, charged with stealing the Horse from Haslemere, Surrey, has been apprehended aud remanded at the County Police Station, Guildford, until the 17th instant: Further information respecting the Watch stolen from Oue gave the name of THOMAS MOORE, 28 years of Mr. Joseph Bradley, at Wellington, Salop, Railway Station, age, a fish hawker, of No. 5, Loudon- road, Portsea, 5 feet on the 27th ultimo, and advertised in the Police Gazette of 6f inches high, dark hair, and small whiskers ; dressed iu the 29th ultimo, aud following dates, the number of the tweed striped trousers and waistcoat, long blue pilot rough watch is 36734. £\ reward will be paid by Mr. Bradley, on cloth coat, aud round felt hat. the recovery of the watch, aud conviction of the offender or Another gave the name of THOMAS PHILLIPS, a fowl offenders. On the 31st ultimo, the dead body of a man was found iu the Rochdale Canal, near Union- st., Aucoats, Manchester, and is believed to have been in the water two or three weeks. The body is that of a mata about 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches long, proportionate make, dark brown hair, light ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Richardson, Wellington, Salop.— Bow- street, January 16. 5 feet 7 J inches high, fresh complexion, dark hair, and small whiskers ; dressed in cord trousera, fitting tight to the legs, tweed coat and waistcoat, long blue rough cloth coat, and round felt bat. The other gave the name of THOMAS GREEN, a fish hawker, of Gosport, 27 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, no- whiskers or moustache; dressed, in blue pilot overcoat striped trousers, hard felt hat, ani white muffler; has the appearance of a farmer. Informa- tion to » be given to Superintendent Freeman, Stourbridge-, Worcestershire.— Bow- rtreet, January 14* Stolen from a field at Cowden Farm, in the parish of Heffingly, on the night of the 7th instant, the property « f James Tournay : two Kent Lambs, in good condition, and marked'with the letter "£'" in red paint either on the near shoalder or hip. Information to be gi » en at the Chief COD- s table's Office, Lewes, or to Superintendent Waghorn, Hails- ham, Sussex.— Bow- street, January- 12. Found at Aldershot and supposed to be stolen : a bright bay Mare, aged, about 16 hands high, several white spots on back, as if from wounds by saddle, one recent wound on off wither, star on forehead, weak on fere legs, small hoofs-, unshod, bang tail, rough coat, very low condition, and sup- posed to be an oid trooper. Information to be given to Superintendent Stephenson, Hants Constabulary, Aldershot. — Bow- street, January 12. Description of a man called ' GINGER charged with stealing, a Horse ( recovered), tho property of Mr. R. Youngs at Seal, on the 27th ultimo: about 28 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, red hair ( cut short) and wMskers, shaved on upper lip and chin ; dressed in dark cloth trousers, whits Blop, pockets at sides, and black cloth cap buttons on front of peak; stated he came from Chatham ; he attends fairs, markets, and auction sales. Stolen on the 1st instant, from a field at Oxley- lanef Harrow- weald, a dark brown cob Horse, white feet, white star on forehead, scar on left side of face, and 15 hands high. Supposed by three men : one is 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 iaches high, dark complexion, hair, and whiskers, and dark diasi ; one is 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion, hair, » nd whiskers, and dressed in blue overcoat, cord trousers ( tight fitting), billycock hat; and the other is 50 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, light hair, and, dressed in a light brown overcoat, brown cloth trousers ( fitting tight), aud imitation sealskin cap. Had a horse asd cart : horse light bay cob, 13i hands, old harness ; cart light spring, painted dark green.— Metropolitan Police, S Division, Jan. 9.. Stolen from a field at Rhosweal, in the parish of St. Martin's, in the county of Salop, on the night of the- 4th instant : a white barren Heifer, with a few red spots,. and a slight scissors mark on near hip. Absconded from Middlesborough, on the 11th instant, charged with stealing Money : NICHOLAS PATTISON, a weigh clerk, about 35 yaars of age, 5 feet 9 inches, high, sallow- complexion, thin fac^ black hair, whiskers, ami moustache, supposed shaved off ; generally wears dark grey clothes, and occasionally a brawn overcoat. He is a native of Aycliffe, near Darlington, and has been employed generally on railways. He was at Hartlepool on the 13th instant, aud stated he should go Northwards. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Westhoughton, near Bolton- le- Moors, Lancashire, on the morning of the 12th instant: a silver hunting Watch, with seconds hand, blue dial, gold fingers, and double cases. ' American Watch Com- pany ' engraved en dial, ' Walter Mass,' or ' Bartley,' on the works, there is also engraved on the outside cases three flowers on one side and two ditto on the other side ; had a small steel Chain attached. By a man who lodged in the house about a week and absconded on the morning of the robbery : he is about 5 feet 3 inches high, light hair, light complexion, dark brown eyes, large feet ; dressed in old cord jacket with moleskin sleeves and back lined with the same material, black cloth trousers and vest which are too large for him, and all much worn, blue plaid cap, and new clogs ; walks as if weak in the legs; he stated he was a native of Church, near Accrington, Lancashire. Absconded from the City of London, charged on a warrant with felony : WILLIAM GILBERT, about 32years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, black hair, whiskers, and moustache, dark brown eyes, slightly pitted with smal!- pox, good teeth, and is inclined to be stout; generally well dressed. Absconded on the 7th instant, charged with stealing £ 31, the moneys of his master : WILLIAM FAULKENER, 38 years of age, 6 feet nigh-, dark complexion, short curly hair, small black moustache and whiskers, full face, large feet; dressed in dark brown overcoat, velvet collar, dark striped trousers and vest, side- spring boots, black deerstalker hat, slovenly gait, carries his hands in his pockets, late of 11, Raymond- terrace, Upper Edmonton ; well known at Tottenham.
