Further information respecting the undermentioned persons accused of being parties iu the murder of THOMAS MONK, at Wistow, in the county of Leicester, on the 30th of July last, - who have absconded from their homes, and are still at large : a reward of £ 10 will be paid to any person, • who will furnish to the Police snch information as shall lead to die apprehension of all or either of them. The information eo given will not be disclosed to any one, and the reward will be paid down on the arrest of any one of the four men, with- out waiting the result of the trial. Stolen from off Midsummer Common, in the boroagh of Cambridge, on the 26th ultimo : a dark bay Mare, 4 years old, about 14 hands high, has a few white hairs on forehead, bind fetlocks white, and a small chafed place upon the neai shoulder, has been broken, and is a good goer. Information to be given to Head Constable Turrall, Borough Police- office, Cambridge.— Bow- street, November 3. Stolen on the night of the 28th ultimo, from a. f. sli at Finchfield, Upper Penn, a brown entire Pony, rising 4 years old, 11 or 12 hands high, long mane and tail, and black legs, the property of Stephen Belcher. If stelen, £ 2 reward will be paid to any person giving information leading to convic- tion of the offender or offenders. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person of a lady, in a shop at Dorking, on the 3rd instaut : a brown morocco Purse, containing two £ 5 Bank of England Notes, one No. 94005, the other two halves pasted together, and three Sovereigns. By two men, one about 40 years of age, very tall, brown whiskers and moustache ; dressed in brown overcoat, black vest, dark grey trousers, and black hat. The other about 30 years of age, short, black whiskers and moustache ; dressed in black over- coat, aud black hat; carried a white mackintosh OD his arm. They were both of gentlemanly appearance, and were traced going in the direction of London. Information to be given to Superintendent Lambert, Surrey Constabulary, Dorking. Bow- street, November 7. Stolen from the person in Hastings, on the 31st ultimo : a. silver verge Watch, ' J. scratched on the cap, maker Cogger, Hastings. Also, a silver Ueneva hunting Watch, No. 4614. Stolen from the person of an Irish cattle- dealer, at Kil- marnock Railway Station, ou the 30th ultimo : a mahogany- coloured leather Pocket Book, containing a Bank of England Note for £ 100, No. 29363, and dated Newcastle, 2nd August, 18/ 1 ; forty- one Bank of England Notes for £ 5 each, numbers not known ; and two Ulster Bank Notes for £ 1 each, and a number of receipts for rent and other documents. Henderson and Co., carpet manufacturers, Durham, were brokeimtnd entered, and about 7s. G'd. worth of penny Pottage Stamps, 2s. Gd. worth of sixpenny ditto, 3s. in Money, and two engraved fob Seals, one with crest and initials, and the other with a French motto engraved on it, were stolen. Any person giving such information as will lead to the apprehen- sion and conviction of the offender or . offenders, aliall receive £ 10 reward, on application to Head Constable Wilson, Durham.— Bow- street, November 7. During the night of the 3Lit ult, a cottage at Cadbury Heath, Bitton, w* s broken into and stolen therein : a brown cloth monkej Jacket, with pockets at sides and left breast, lined with black aud red plaid ; f. n old black cloth Coat, with pockets at sides ; a new flannel Shirt, with black and yeliow spots ; three yards of new Flannel, same pattern ; four yards of new white Flannel; a brown cloth Waistcoat, with light stripe ; a leather Purse, and £ 3 in Gold. During the night of the 29th ultimo the offices of Messrs. Henderson and Co., carpet manufacturers, in the City of Durham, was broken and entered, and about " s. 6d. worth of penny, and 2s. 6d. worth of sixpenny Postage Stamps, and about 3s. in Money was stolen therefrom. Information to be given to Chief Constable Wilson, Durham City. Bow- street, November 3. During the night of the 30th or early on the morning of the 31st ultimo, the shop and post office of Messrs. Froggatt and Son, of Eyam, was burglariously entered, and £ 30 in Gold, some Postage Stamps, three Pocket- books, and a large Knife, Btclen therein. Supposed by three men of the follow- ing description : one about 44 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, hair turning grey, and no whiskers ; dressed in grey or mi,\ ed shooting jacket Another about 5 feet 9 inches high, thin visage, no whiskers, and tuft of hair on chin ; dressed in dark clothes. And the other about 5 feet 7 inches high, and dressed in dark clothes ; all wore dark low hats. A reward of £ 5 5s. will be paid on tbLeir apprehension LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Description of a man charged with stealing from the dwelling- house of John Forrester, cf Spring Bank, in the township of Willenhall, on the 16th ultimo, the property of Michael Broderick, a lodger : a cloth Vest, green shade, with satin flowers in it; and a pair of brown and white tweed Trousers : he is about 22 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, dark brown hair, fresh complexion, round face, no whiskers, very stout build ; dressed in a hard billycock hat, dark cloth coat, with pockets outside, white moleskin trousers, strong lace- up boots, red and - white striped muffler. KENWARD, about 22 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, light hair, small light moustache and whiskers, pale com- plexion, and boyish appearance ; dressed when last seen in a grey suit and Drown bowler hat, with jet studs and watch chain ; has the appearance [ of a mason. Description of HENRY WATSON, bookkeeper, who absconded from his employment at Nottingham on the 27th ultimo, having embezzled various sums of monev: about 40 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, thin, black hair, whiskers, and moustache, pale complexion, prominent dark eyes, large nose, is very nervous when spoken to, stoops, his right arm is partially paralysed, and he writes wi » h the pen between the secon. J joints of the forefingers ; he is ef respect- able appearance, and had on a black surtout coat, dark trousers, and waistcoat buttoned up to the throat. Stolen on the 3rd instant, from Ruffinswick Farm, Ash- bury : a black cloth Coat, pockets on the hips ; a grey Coat, lining torn at back ; a blue check bundle Handkerchief; a white spotted Neckerchief ; a pair of Gloves, with lambswool lining ; a soft felt black billycock Hat; and two Stockings, one- cotton, the other worsted. By a tramp who had been at woi'k on the farm several days : 50 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, grey hair, and sandy- grey beard and moustache, the latter of about three weeks' growth ; dressed in dirty light blue jacket with white slop underneath, dark trousers, patched on knoes, and dark stripe down sides, white spotted necker- chief, uoft felt black billycock hat, aud la- e- up boots; has lost one tooth in front, and stated that he had been a soldier 19 years in India. Information to be given to Superinten- dent Reece, Constabulary Office, Faringdon, Berks.— Bou- eireet, November 7. Stolen from Strefford, Beds., on the 27th ultimo, at graining combs. By a man who gave the name of SIDNEY WALLETT, 33 years of age ; he stated he belonged to Lut- terworth, Leicestershire, and has a brother Arthur in business there as a decorator; he sent a letter addressed to ' D. B., 37, Bellverdeer- road, Derby,' stating she was his sister ; he also stated he had worked in London, and is supposed to have committed other offences, as a number of Pawn- tickets were seen in his possession. Information to be given to Super- intendent Smith, Police Office, Biggleswade, Beds., who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 5. Description of ELIJAH WAGSTAFF, labourer, of Arlington, Cambs, charged on a warrant with larceny : 26 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark brown hair, fresh complexion, small dark whiskers, and has a rolling gait ; when last heard of he was travelling the country with a horse dealer from the neighbourhood of Ely. Information to be giveu to Inspector Dade, Caxton, Cambs.— Bow- street, No- vember 5. Absconded on the 15th September last, charged with stealing £ 1,500 : JOHN KIRBY KNIGHT, alias GEORGE MATHEWS, 37 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, very dark * POLICE GAZET± E Novemler 7. complexion and hair, long whiskers, clean shaved chin, thin build, swaggering gait, carries his head on one side ; supposed to be dressed iu light tourist suit, or black frock coat. Description of DENNIS WALKER, labourer, late of Rosedale, charged with obtaining, by false pretences, £ b in money, the property of the Rosedale Miners Sick Benefit Society : 33 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, fresh com- plexion, ' brown hair and whiskers, and is very dull of hearing; dressed in black cloth suit, black felt hat, aud patent leather laggings; has friends residing at Mitcheldean, Gloucester- shire, and at Martintrustel, Leicestershire. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATIONS. committed to Aylesbury Description of three men County Gaol, on the 5th instant GEORGE BEDFOR, o£ Parcel- lane, Westminster, shoe- maker, committed for 2 calendar months hard labour, for stealing a silver Watch at Newport Pagnell, on the 30th ult.: 28 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, slight figure, sharp features, pale complexion,' dark brown hair, small moustache, tuft of hair on chin, and whiskers shaved off; dressed iu hard black felt hat, blaek cloth jacket, pockets on hips, black vest, dark ribbed trousers, and side- spring boots. Supposed tq have been previously convicted at one- of the Metropolitan Police Courts. JOSEPH STEVENS, of Canada, labourer, states he has been in England 16 months, committed for 21 days for larceny at Broughton, on the 2nd instanti: 22 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, grey eyes, long visage, small brown whiskers and moustache ; dressed in black billycock hat, brown jacket, pockets at sides, coloured cotton shirt, old dirty cord trousers, and lace- up boots. WILLIAM RICHARDSON, of Milston- lane, Nottingham, printer, committed for 14 days, for trading as a pedlar, with- out a certificate, at LathbUry, on the 4th instant, 28 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, grey eyes, dark brown hair, full moustache, whiskers shaved off, aud pro- portionately built; dressed in black felt h'ab, turned up at sides, dark mixture tweed jacket, with two pockets on each side, black trousers and waistcoat, and side- spring boots. States he came from Maidenhead, and was going to Notting- ham, where he has a wife & nd three children. Information to be given to Inspector Hall, Newport Pngnell, Bucks.— Bow- street, November 7. Description of JOHN GAYON, supposed fictitious, who is committed for trial at the next Stafford Assizes, charged with attempting to steal a Watch from the person, at Burton Fair, on the 29th ultimo : about 20 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, no whiskers, pale face, light brown hair, large mouth, large prominent forehead, small dark eyes, is smart, and has quite the appearance of a professional tliief: dressed in black cloth frock coat, vest and trousers, black billycock hat, and side- spring boots ; he gave an address in Liverpool which proved to be false. Information to be given to Superintendent Bowen, Police Office, Burton- on- Trent, from whom a photograph can be obtained if applied for.— Bow- st., November 7. Description of LEWIS RANDOLPH, alias DARRELL, committed to take his trial at the next Gloucestershire Quarter Sessions, for larceny ; he is 36 years of age, 5 ft. 6 ins. high , dark brown hair, hazel eyes, fair oomplexiou, long dark whiskers, beard, and moustache, and is pockpitted ; dressed in Scotch cap, black cloth frock coat, dark- speckled tweed waistcoat, grey- speckled tweed trousers with black stripe down sides, blue necktie with white stripes, two woollen shirts, one grey, the other grey and striped. States he is a shoemaker, and has served in the American army. Information to be given to Superintendent Day, Cheltenham. — Bow- street, November 7. . Description of MASON MAYES, committed for trial at Spilsby Sessions, to be holden in Jauuary next, on a charge of housebreaking: 17 years of age, 4 feet 11 inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, scar on right arm, knuckle on little finger of right hand has been broken, small scar on forehead, a labourer, born at Long Sutton, Lincolnshire ; has been living at East Dereham, in Norfolk, where his parents reside. Information to be given to Super- intendent Richdale, Spilsby, Lincolnshire, or to the Governor of Spilsby Prison.— Bow- street, November 7. Description fof WILLIAM PARISH, labourer, who who was committed for 21 days hard labour, on the 4th inst., for larceny at Middlesborough : he states'that he is a native of Chad well Heath, Essex, is 21 years of age, looks older, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair cut short, no whiskers or moustache; dressed in a pilot cloth jacket, white duck jacket underneath, old dark mixture cloth vest, new white moleskin trousers, cloth cap, and lace- up boots.
