Notice.— It is requested that all communications for the purpose of obtaining or giving information respecting supposed offenders, or stolen property, may bear the Signature of the person requiring or sending the same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to MB. W. D. BURNABY, the Editor, Police Court, Bow Street, London, W. C. %• Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the Name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the Offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insortioa. As no charge is made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, all Letters addressed to the Editor mast be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. It is requested that the Names and Descriptions of Deserters and Absentees from the Militia, as well as those from the regular Army, intended for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, may be addressed to " The Under Secretary of State for War, War Office, Pall Mall, London, S. W.," as they cannot be published without his authority. INFORMATIONS. ARSON AND WILFUL BURNING. On the night of the 23rd instant a Fire was discovered in a barn ( which was consumed) at Wolsey Grange, Esher, the property of R. Few, Esq., supposed to have been the act of an incendiary. A reward of £ 50 will be paid to any person ( ex- cept the person who actually set it on tire) who will give such information as shall lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to Superintendent Bungard, Surrey Constabulary, Chertsey.— Bow - street, November 25. FORGERY. Charged with forging a cheque for £ 38 10s., upon Wm. Williams, Brown, aud Co., Leeds : a man, about 22 years of age, about 5 feet inches high, medium build, light complexion and hair, and slight moustache ; dressed in a dark shooting coat, grey trcusers, aud black felt rounil hat, and a blue overcoat. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Town Hall, Leeds.-- Bow- street, November 29. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen about 5 p. m. on the 22nd instant, at the Guild- ford Railway Station : a j- plate gold Watch, open white face, with dial, maker Stedmau, Godalming, No. 12018, and a gold albert Chain, with a hook for the waistcoat button- hole. Supposed by some London pickpockets attending Guildford Fair. £ 1 reward will be paid by Mr. John Debenham to any person giving such information as will lead to the convic- tion of the ollender and recovery of the watch. Information to be given to Mr. John Debenham, or to Superintendent High, Godalmicg, Surrey.— Bow- street, November 25. Stolen on the 20th instant, from the person on Warwick race- course, the following notes, Coutts bank, Strand, London : five £ 20, Nos. 001U to 90115, dated April 23rd ; five £ 10, Nos. C0145 to 00149, dated July 22ud ; five £ 5, Nos. 43964 to 43968, dated August 19th ; and four £ 5, Nos. 43170 to 43173, dated August 19th. A good reward will be given ou the recovery of the notes, and conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to Head Constable Hickling, Warwick.- Bono- street, November 25. Stolen from the person of a fellow lodger at Chester, ou the 21st instant : £ 4 10s., and a pedlar's Certificate, No. 118, granted to Francis Carey, at Chester, on the 26th September, 1872. Description of the offender, who will probably assume the name upon the certificate, and apply to have it endorsed: 19 years of age, 5 feet 0 inches high, pale complexion, light brown hair, and slightly bow- legged ; he is a native of Wolverhampton, and has probably made for that town. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Town Hall, Chester.— Bow- street, November 22. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. '' Stolen by means of housebreaking, during the night of the 26th instant, from the shop of Halliday and Thompson, ironmongers, Dumfries: nine gold lever Watches, Nos. 54931, 49213, 76253, 57601, 8513, 6202, 55423, 28757, and 34191 ; six Swiss Watches, two silver, Nos. 11032 and 4177, four < rold, Nos. 2738, 1707, 645, and 1129; twelve silver lever \ Vatches, Nos. 8288, 6064, 20595, 18710, 10294, 10295, 9785, 11040, 1093, 01158, 0544, and- 56258; a second hand silver Watch, No. 2027 ; about 100 finger Rings; 40 to 50 gold Chains and Alberts ; a Cash Box, containing £ 21 in Notes and Silver ; a number of gold and silver Watches ; gold Lockets, Brooches, and Ear- rings ; Receipt Retired Bills, & c. A man of the following description is charged in connection with the above : about 27 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, dark hair, broad face, dark complexion, black whiskers and beard of medium length, no moustache, well made, square shouldered, spoke good English, but supposed to be a Scotchman ; dressed in a wideawake hat, dark overcoat, grey trousers, and supposed grey vest. £ 25 reward. Between 0 and 8 p. m. on the 24tli instant, the dwelling- house of Sarah North wood, situate at Wordsley, in the parish of kingswinford, and county of Stafford, was entered, and the following property stolen therein : six silver Tea Spoons, marked ' A. T.'; a silver Geneva Watch; £ 1 10s. 3d. cash. Information to be given to Superintendent Mills, Police Office, Brierley Hill, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 29. On the night of the 27th instant, the saddle- room at Llanfihangel Court, near Abergavenny, the residence of the Hon. W. P. Rodney, was broken into, and the following articles, the property of David Chamberlain, the coachman, stolen : a black Jacket, pockets outside hips and one inside left breast; a black Waistcoat; a grey tweed mixture Jacket; a gred tweed Waistcoat ; a drab tweed pair of Trousers and Waistcoat ; a pair of black Trousers ; a coarse grey cloth stable Jacket; an old livery blue cloth Coat, crest— an eagle; a pair of old blue cloth Trousers, with black stripes down side ; a pair of elastic- side Boots, clumped ; a pair of old top Boots ; a pair of kerseymere tight Gaiters ; a black bowler Hat, soft crown; a white woollen Scarf ; a pair of old dog- skin Gloves ; a small gold scarf Pin, with a forget- me- not flower ; an old Towel; two stable Towels, marked ' S.— W. R.,' the name of ' Mr. Eames, tailor, Abergavenny,' is on the buttons, and also on the collars of the jackets aud waistcoats. Stolen by housebreaking between 1 and 0.30 p. m. on the 20th instant, from Victoria- road, Twickenham : two Brace- lets, one plain gold band, set with amethyst and eight pearls, and one gold spring, chased ; four gold Rings, one signet with bloodstone, engraved ' M. A. S. P.,' one small with row of seed pearls, and one of turquoise, one small wire, with four imitation stones, one thick indian, chased, snake pattern, with ruby eyes; a gold Seal, chased with amethyst stone, sham- rock engraved thereon, attached with other trinkets ; a gold Ring ; three Lockets, one black enamel, one blue ivy- leaf pattern, and one chased ; a silver masonic Star, red stone in centre, encircled by word ' Excelsior;' a silver card Case, chased, monogram ' MASG' in centre, ' Mrs. D. C. M. Gordon' on rim ; a set of gold Studs ; two gold scarf Pins, one with carbuncle stone bearing masonic emblems ; an old- fashioned silver cream Jug, engraved ' G.;' a small loaf of Bread ; and a pound of Butter.— Metropolitan Police, T Division, Nov. 27. Between 9' 30 p. m. on the 22nd and G a. m. on the 23rd instant, the dwelling- house of William Parrott, of Little Brick- hill, victualler, was burglariously broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein : a pair of blucher Boots, large size, nearly new ; a pair of side- spring boots; two pair of lace- up Boots ; a pair of cloth- buttoned Boots ; a Bundle containing a pair of black cloth Trousers ; a black cloth Vest; a black billycock Hat; two or three loaves of Bread ; and some cooked Pork. Information to be given to Superintendent Hedley, Police Station, Fenny Stratford, Bucks.— Bow- street, November 25. Between 12' 30 and 2 p. m. on the 1.9th iustant, the dwel- ling- house of Charles Wild, of Harrington Birch, in the parish of Brewood, was broken aud entered, and the follow- ing property stolen therein: alight grey Jacket, with pockets on hips, and one on inside of left breast; and a light grey Vest, with brass buttons. By a tramp of the following des- cription, who was seen in the neighbourhood the same day : about 18 years of age, about 5 feet 0 inches high, stout build; dressed in dark cloth jacket, dark corduroy trousers, old black cap, aud a pair of very old clogs ; was traced to Wol- verhampton, where he sold the vest ( since recovered). Infor- mation to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Disney, Fore- bridge, or to Sergeaut Barrett, Police Station, Penkridge, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 22. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen from a field iu the parish of Hallaton, Leicester- shire, ou the 13th instant : two heifers, one red and wliite> the other black, with a white spot on forehead ; aud a red and white Steer, all about 2 years old, the property of Mr. William Peck, of Hallaton. information to be given at the County Constabulary Office, Leicester, or to Inspector Good- man, East Norton, Leicestershire.— Bono- street, November 29. Stolen on the night of the 19th instant, from a field at Willey- court, township of Willey, near Presteign, Hereford- shire : a black gelding Donkey, about S or 9 years old, has a wart mark on right hip, aud one on the brisket, tail cropped, and the letter ' B' [ burnt on his hoofs, in good condition. Iuformation to be given to Superintendent Dykes, County Police Station, Leominster, or to Sergeant Bound, Police Station, Wigmore, Herefordshire.— Bow- street, November 29 Stolen on the night of the 12th instant, from a farmyard at Shaftnor End, near Barley, Herts, the property of Mr. Wilkerson, farmer : a red au< l white polled Cow, 0 years old, in good condition, gives milk from three teats, and is half time gone in calf. Information to be given to Superintendent Cacksedge, Royston, Herts.— Mew- street, November 27. Description of GEORGE HAYES, charged with stealing a Pony, at Ryhope Colliery, on the 20th instant, which has been recovered : he is 21 or 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 ins. high, dark complexion, thick lips, dark brown hair, small whiskers and mouBtache, proportionate figure, a labourer, lost half of one of his thumb nails, supposed right, has been in the training stables, is fond of music, and is a native of Glouces- ter ; dressed in a blue pilot cloth Jacket, dark grey trousers, with black stripe down the outside of each leg, vest of the same material, black felt hat, black tie, and elastic- side boots. Information to be given to Superintendent Thompson, Hough- ton- le- Spring, Fence Houses, Durham, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 27. Stolen between the 12th and 14th instant, from a field at Low Hesket, the property of Mr. Joseph Dawson, farmer : nine half- bred grey faced Lambs, one on them has horns, the others have not, marked with the letter ' D.' on near side, and across the back with red. Information to be given to Superintendent Fow. * r, Penrith, or at the County Chief Constable's Office, Carlisle.— Bow- street, November 25. Stolen from a field in the parish of Benefield, near Oundle, on the 15th instant: a light Roan Heifer and a red pied Steer, both about 2i years old, the property of Mr. Wm. Dixon, farmer. If strayed, all reasonable expenses will be paid. Information to be given to Superintendent Noble, Police Office, Onndle, Northamptonshire, or any member of the County Police.— Bow- street, November 25. Stolen at Stourbridge on the 10th instant: a brown cart Horse, aged, stands 17 hands high, low in condition, very plain made, and stands low on the hind fetlocks. Information to be given to Superintendent Freeman, Stourbridge, Wor- cestershire.— Bvw- street, November 25. Stolen from a stable on the night of the 19th instant: a dark brown Mare, 9 years old, 13 hands high, white star on forehead, hind fetlocks white, long switch tail, in fair condi- tion ; generally carries her tongue out. Also, at the « ame time and place, a light spring Cart, painted dark brown, no name on it; a cross spring underneath. Information to be given at the Chief Constable's Office, Lewes ; to Superin- tendent Peerleas, Uckfield ; to Sergeant Avery, Court House, Mark Cross; or at any Police Station in East Sussex. — Bow- street, November 22. Stolen between 8 p. m. on the Sth and 4 a m. on the 9th instaut, from Feltham : a bay Gelding, aged, 14 hands high, white star on face ; a set of light cart Harness, with silver- plated mountings ; aud a dark blue Cart, picked out with red, ' George Tillyer, Feltham, Middx.,' on off shaft.— Hetropohta.. Police, T Division, November 22. Stolen on the 18th instant, from a field at Boever Hall, near Barnsley, Yorkshire : a black Colt, 3 years old, one hind fetlock white, white star on forehead, long mane and tail, and in good condition. Also a brown colt, 2 years old, well bred, iu low condition, long mane and tail. Information to be given to Superintendent Sykes, West Riding Constabulary, Barnsley.— How- street, November 22. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. A sheriffs warrant has been granted for the apprehension of WILLIAM WRIGHT, late traveller to Mr. H. J. Becks- field, paper- bag maker, Maxwell- street, Glasgow: he is 20 years of age, 5 feet G inches high, rather red whiskers, beard, and moustache, very broad forehead, hair far back, rather bald, fresh and well- coloured complexion, has a blue mark on one hand; dressed iu a dark grey tweed suit, blue melton cloth top coat, with velvet collar, and a round felt hat; he has a habit of shaking his head when speakiug, and walks a little on one side, and in a rocking manner, is accompanied by his wife, who sometimes teaches in private families ; he will probably seek employment at stationers, aud is supposed to have left Glasgow on the 18th instant, for England. In- formation to be given to Chief Constable McCall, or to Super- intendent Brown, Glasgow.— Bow- street, November 29. Description of JOSEPH McKAY, engine fitter, charged with stealing a Watch, in a railway carriage, between Llanid- loes aud Montgomery, on the Sth October last, which has since been recovered : he is 24 years of age, about 5 feet 7 ins. high, fair complexion, light hair, parted in front, small light whiskers and moustache, walks erect, treads inward ; dressed in a dark monke}- jacket, light waistcoat, dark cloth trousers, with a small red stripe in it, black jimcrow hat, had in his possession a reversable mackintosh, black one side, and light the other. Information to be given at the Chief Constable's Office, Newtown, or to P. C. Breeze, Llandysilio, Mont- gomeryshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— — Bow- street, November 29. Absconded from Weobley, charged with stealing £ 5 14s. the monies of his master Mr. John Pugh, butcher, on the 2nd instant: a slaughterman, who gave his name as WILLIAM TURNER, a native of Leicester, about 22 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, stout, dark complexion, whiskers, and beard, supposed to be shaved off, and flat nose; dressed in brown trousers with dark stripe, long blue butcher's frock, and old grey jacket over it; he has a shuffling gait. Iuformation to be given to Superintendent Shead, Weobley, Herefordshire, who holds a warrant for his appre- hension.— Bow- street, November 27. Description of HENRY DRURY, late clerk to John Burridge Hackett, coal merchant, Birmingham, charged with • 378 P O L I C E GAZETTE. December 13 embeazling i' 8 5s.: about 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, light hair, beard, and moustache, and rather sickly looking ; dressed in pepper- and- salt coloured suit ; has lived in Spark Brook, Birmingham. A warrant has been issued for his apprehension. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Glossop, Birmingham.— Bow- street, Nov. 27. About 7 p. m. on the 22nd instant, seven alpaca Umbrellas ( since recovered), were stolen frem the shop door of Mr. Carr, draper, Derby- street, Leek : by a man of the following description, about 42 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, sandy whiskers, and has lost the first finger of right ha'nd ; dressed in old dark overcoat, and black sammy hat. Speaks with an Irish accent, is au umbrella mender, aud States he has been in the Army. Information to be given to Superintendent Williams, Leek, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, November 37. Stolen on the 23rd instant, from Warwick : a gold lever Watch, maker Howard, Lo: don; a silver hunting Watch, maker Dent, No. 25644; two gold Chains, one cable links and horse shoe Seal. A good reward will be paid on the recovery of the Watches, and conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be given to Head Constable Hickling, Warwick.— Bow- street, November 25. The gold Lever Watch stolen from the house of Thomas Blackburn, of Shiucliffe, near Durham, on the 16th of Octo- ber last, is No. 96860, aud not 7667, as previously advertised. Information to be given to Superintendent Dunn, County Constabulary Office, Durham, Wilts.— Bow- st., November 25. Stolen from the Plough Inn, Adderbury, Oxon, on the 12th instant: a gold Albert Watch- guard, since recovered : By a man who lodged iu the house : 35 or 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, slight make, light hair, aud small sandy whiskers ; dressed iu a light short stable jacket, light cap, cord breeches, and jack boots with drab cloth over the tops; he is a stableman, aud was traced to Leamington, where he called at the hotels aud stables, asking for work. Information to be given to Superintendent Whadcoat, County Police Station, Banbury, Oxon .- Bow- street, Noovember 25. Stolen on the 19th or 20th instant, from James Booth- royd, watchmaker, Redcar : a French drum Clock, about 44 inches diameter, had enamel round the rim, which is sup- posed to be taken off, and represents a brass case ; a silver Geneva Watch, brass rim round the case, with a leather Guard ( metal links) attached ; a pair of watchmaker's Plyers; and a Screwdriver. By a man of the following description : about 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, blue eyes, light brown hair and moustache, no whiskers, fresh com- pfexion, and proportionate make ; dressed in a black stiff blue cloth coat aud vest, grey and brown mixture trousers, coloured necktie, aud white collar; his coat has been repaired in the centre of the back, by having a piece let in ; he is a jobbing watchmaker, and tramps about the country. Infor- mation0 to be given to Superintendent Prest, North Riding Constabulary Office, Guisborough, or to Sergeant Dickinson, Police Office, Redcar, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, November 25. Stolen on the 21st instant, from a dwelling- house in Bolton: a lady's gold English lever Watch, No. 5973, had attached a rather heavy gold Guard, long link pattern, and two gold Lockets, one of which contains the portia. it of a gentleman. By an Irish servant girl, 21 years of age, about 5 feet high, slender make, dark brown hair, pale complexion, rather loug features, and had a sore finger, plastered; dressed in a black stuff dress, with a flounce at the bottom, black stuff skirt, black crape bonnet, and boots ; she said she came from Sligo, Ireland, a short time ago, that she has a relative residing in Rochdale- road, Manchester, and another at Fleet- wood. £ 2 lew ard will be paid for her apprehension and conviction aud recovery of the property. Information to be given to Chief Constable Beech, Borough Police Office, Bolton.— Bow- street, November 25. Absconded on the 15th instant, charged on a waiTant with embezzlement : JOSEPH ANGUS, cashier, about 21 years of age, about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, dark brown hair, slight whiskers round his face, slight moustache, fresh complexion, round face ; dressed iu a brown mixture suit, silk hat, walks erect aud active, and is of smart appearance. Information to be given to the Chief Constable, Town Hall, Leeds.— Bow- street, November 22. Description of FRANCIS WILLIAM SHILLITO, clerk and accountant, who absconded from Rotherham, on the 23rd ult., charged with embezzling £ 30 : he is about 30 yrs. of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair and whiskers round his chin, dark eyes, round visage, propor- tionate build, walks erect, and is of gentlemanly appearance. Information to be given to Superintendent Gillett, Court House, Rotherham, Yorkshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, November 22. Absconded from Pont- aber- pengarm, Bedwelty, Mon- mouthshire, ou the 10th instant, charged with stealing an old- fashioned silver verge Watch, common albert Chain attached, small bar at the end ; two Welsh flannel Shirts, black with white stripes, half worn, holes in elbows, the pro- perty of John Griffiths ; a double- case silver lever Watch, common Guard aud Key attached, ' J. llallet Bearage' on one side, ' Watchmaker aud Jeweller,' on the other, No. 8940, a small piece out of the centre of dial ; a common leather Purse, with brass clasp, containing 15s.; a pair of brown ribbed cloth Trousers and Vest; a moleskin ditto, with pearl buttons ; a pair of light Boots ; a white calico Shirt, ' G. C.' worked iu red silk ou right side of tail ; three small Bags, one containing buttons, & c.; the property of Geo. Churchill, a fellow Bervaut. GEORGE DAY, a farm servant, about 27 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, stout, fair com- plexion, urown hair, sandy whiskers round chin, very busby, blue eyes, round face, and rather long nose ; dressed in dark cloth jacket aud vest, cord trousers, watertight boots, long yellow leather leggings, new soft jimcrow hat or old black cloth cap ; supposed to be a native of Hampshire, and states that he has been to sea. Information to be given to Super- intendent Fowler, Tredegar Iron Works, Monmouthshire.— Bow- street, Noccmber 22. Absconded on the 18th ultimo, from Bidford, Warwick- shire, charged witli stealiug a Shovel aud a Jar, since been recovered: STEPHEN HOUGHTON, a stone mason by trade, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, dark com- plexion, long narrow features, black busky hair, inclined to curl, dark whiskers, small moustache, walks very erect ; supposed to be dressed in a dirty white slop, cord trousers, plaid woollen shirt, old lace- up boots, no heel on right boot, and a brown billycock hat; supposed to be iu the neighbour- hood of Dudley. Information to be given to Superintendent Dunbar, Aleester, or to P. C. Reynolds, Bidford, Warwick- shire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Biw- street, November 22. FRAUDS AND AGGRAVATED MISDEMEANOURS. Description of JOHN EDMONSTONE, alias JOHN KING, charged on warrant with obtaining £ 2 by means of false pretences at Osset, on the 23rd instant : about 26 years of * ge, 5 feet 5^ inches high, sandy hair, slight whiskers aud moustache, and belongs to Camberwell; dresned in white ltnen coat, grey tweed trousers aud vest, and cloth cap. In- formation to be given to Superintendent Airton, Couuty Police Offioe, Dewsbury, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, November 29. Absconded from Walford, near Ross, on the 8th instant, charged with attempting to obtain the sum of one Sovereign by false pretences : JOHN EVANS, alias RICHARD BADHAM, alias TURNER, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark hair, no whiskers, tuft of hair on chin, and has lost his left arm ; dressed in a dark jacket, cord trousers, and jimcrow hat. He is the person suspected of having set tire to four wheat and three hay Ricks, at Walford, on the 7tli instant, and advertised in the Police Gazette of the 18th. He lias been convicted several times of felony, aud is now under police supervision. C.' tattooed on right forearm, anchor on back of left hand, and a sailor holding up a stick on right hand ; is a native of Liverpool, a hawker, and is married ; dressed in a browu cloth topcoat, dark tweed vest and trousers, lace up boots, and round hard black felt hat. Is in possession of a pedlar's certificate, granted at Manchester on 16th Jauuary, 1872, and endorsed for Lancashire, Cheshire, West Riding of i Yorkshire, aid the borough of Leeds. Another gives the name of JAMES DAVIT, 19 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, black eyes, black woolly hair, sallow complexion, no whiskers, prominent lower jaw, scar on corner of left eye, smart and active appearance, and a native of Dublin ; dressed in a brown cloth topcoat, grey mixture tweed cloth coat and vest, dirty grey striped trousers with small black stripes down sides, black round hard felt hat, grey striped coarse linen shirt, and lace- up boots. Description of a man committed to Bedford Gaol, await- ing trial ou two charges of burglary in the name of THOMAS FELL : he is 57 years of age, 5 feet 84 inches high, dark hair aud whiskers, bald ou top head, lijgh forehead, hazel eyes, dark complexion, rather round- shouldered, cut mark on left thumb and forefinger, upper front teeth lost, scar inside right hand and on right cheek, and near- sighted ; a Roman Cotholic. The name given above is false, and he suppresses all information about himself and friends, and refuses to state for whom or where he has ever worked. Since his committal to Bedford Gaol, it has been ascertained that he was convicted of burglary at the Aylesbury Assizes in 1864 in the name of JAMES BOYD, and sentenced to six months' imprisonment, on which occasion he is described as being 37 years of age, a button maker, and again as a currier on tramp, and a uative of Stafford. Supposed to be a returned convict. He is known also at Reading Gaol by the names of WILLIAM SEELEY, alias BOYD, alias JAS. LAMER- CIERE, where he was confined on a charge of burglary, June 17, 1864, but discharged on examination : he described himself theu as a currier, and a native of Warwick, where his father resided as a currier. Ou the 24th June in the same year, he was again in custody for vagrancy for one month and on the 9th March, 1866, again in custody for burglary' calling himself WM. SEELEY, labourer, born at Farringdon' where his father resided. He was convicted at the Berks Assizes, 1866, after a previous conviction, and sentenced to seven years' penal servitude ; was sent to Millbank, 9th Oct. • 866, to Dartmoor, 23rd April, 1867, and discharged on license 5th Jan., 1872, on which occasion he stated his desti- nation was Reading.
