ALEXANDER McKAY, is charged ou a warrant with forgery, at Leeds, about 4( 1 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, sallow complexion, light hair, bald on top of his head, pockpitted, cross eyed, medium build ; dressed in black cloth shooting coat, black vest, and a pair of dirty dark gri rough engineering trousers, with the stripe taken out, is a carpet weaver by trade. Information to be given to Superintendent Hunt, Central Police Office, Town Hall, Leeds.— Brno- street, July 3. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen on the 6th instant, from the person of George Emms, at Beccles : a small- sized silver Geneva hunter Watch, engine- turned cases, and silver albert Chain, links rather more than half an inch long, attached. Stolen from the person of a farmer at the Cattle Fair at Rochdale, on the lst instant: two Bank of England Notes— one for .£ 50, No. 67307 ; the other for £ 20, No. 77897 or 751) 70. By two men— one about 55 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, thin features, hair turning grey, slender figure; dressed iu black or brown coat with loug laps, and grey billy- cock hat ; the other about 38 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, very dark complexion, round face and stout figure; dressed in black silk hat, and black clothes. These men are supposed to be well known to1 the Police of the West Riding of Yorkshire. Stolen from the person of George Jervis, of Horseley Heath, Tipton, on the lst instant, whilst at New Town Wake, West Bromwich : a double- cased silver lever Watch, No. 575, maker Johnson, Liverpool. Also stolen from the person, of James Grovenor, Oldbury- lane, West Bromwich, ou the same day, and at the same place : a silver English lever Watch, No. 46597, maker Benson, London. On the night of the 4th inst, or early the next morning, the premises occupied by Mr. Thomas Ross, jeweller, 107, Buchanan- street, Glasgow, were broken into, and the following valuable Stones and Jewellery stolen therein : a diamond square- shaped Brilliant, cut, weighing 3 grs.; five Diamonds, belonging to half- hoop rings, weighing ou au average about a J- carat each ; about thirty rose Diamonds, including one brilliant; abcut three hundred Rubies ; a gold Albert, twist pattern ; six gold Alberts, curb pattern, Lot stamped, weighing on an average 1 oz. 15 dwts. ; two gold Alberts, curb pattern, stamped 18 carat, each weighing 1 oz. 18 dwts. ; two gold Alberts, Alexandra pattern, weighing 1 oz. 5 dwts. ; a fetter gold Albert, weighing oz.; fifteen ladies' fancy Alberts, various patterns, some with gold balls attached ; eight gold Alberts, Prince of Wales pattern ; twenty- three ladies' Rings, all with genuine stoues in them ; eighteen gentlemen's signet Rings ; eight silver lever Watches, Nos. 20626, 7266, 7524, 7105, 20123, 24913, 47295, and 39147 ; aud six silver Geneva Watches, Nos. 35868, 6503, 16161, 37709, 47292, and 19977. Between 10 p. m. on the 27th and 7 a. m. on the 28th ultimo, the dwelling- house of Clara Dawson, of Sittingbourne, conviction of the offender or offenders. Stolen from a field at North Weston on the lst instant: a dark brown cob Mare, about 14 hands 2 inches high, white star on forehead, tail cut square, a few white hairs round one of the hind legs, about 7 years old, and the property of Mr. Joseph Mitchell. A strange man of the following description is suspected of stealing the same : about 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, slight make, pale complexion, little or no whiskers, browu hair, long no- e ; dressed iu cord trousers, dark coat, red neckscarf, and old light hat : he ap- peared to be a gipsy. Haygard, of Eat Mailing, was broken into, and the following articles stobn thereiu : a pair of silver Candlesticks, chased ; a silver Ink Stand, chased border ; and i- dozen desert Knives and Forks, plated. Stolen by means of housebreaking, at Scotty, near Carlisle, on the night of the 3rd instant : a lady's gold Geneva Watch, No. 32213, or 8240, blue enamel back case, black figures on dial, had a long plain i'old Chain attached, with Seal, Key, round gold Locket, with hair on one side, aud lu memory of dear Tom' on the other side, aud a small Knife with pearl handle, all attached ; two bottles of Wine, ( 1 port, and 1 sherry,) one bottle supposed to be wrapped in thin white paper, marked ' Tho County Hotel aud Wiue Com- pany Limited, Carlisle, Information to be given to Superin- tendent Taylor, County Constabulary Office, Carlisle, Cum- berland.— Bow- street, July 12. During the night of the lst instant, the dwelling house of Thomas P. Descon, Esq., was burglariously entered, and the following property stolen therein : two silver tea Spoons, one marked ' F. E.' or ' A. E.,' the other ' H.;' a Silver mus- tard Spoon; auci two silver Tops of cruets. A man and woman of the following description are suspected : the man is dbout 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, has very white Lands, aud red fa'ce ; dressed iu an oM black dress coa, t, dark trousers, and bjack billycock hat. Stolen from the Race Course, iu the city of Lincoln, sine the 4th instant: a 2 year old white Steer, ' 678' branded « oue horn, and a piece chipped out of right ear. Description of JOSEPH CANDY, charged on a warrat with Sheep stealing, on the 3rd instant, from Appledrai, near Chichester : he is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 10 r 11 inches high, dark brown hair, aud of smart appearanc, he is a drover, and drives for Mr. Duke, of Woodsfory Dorchester, and resides at Holwell, near Sherborne. Info mation to be given to Superintendent Pratt, County Polk Station, West Sussex Constabulary, Chichester.— Bow- stree July 12. of Coventry, but lately residing at Leicester, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout build, round face, dark complexion, black hair, black whiskers round chin, hazel eyes; dressed in grey mixture coat aud vest, brown trousers, aud black billy- cock hat; he left Nuneaton on the 29th ultimo, in a small plum- coloured trap, drawn by a brown pony, 14 hauds high, with black legs, tail cut above the hocks, and brown harness, silver- mounted. Information to be given to Superintendent Austin, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 5. Description of GEORGE SMITH, alias WESTON LEE, cloth hawker, charged on a warrant with stealing on the 25th ultimo, at Stamford, a Horse, Harness, and Dog Cart, the property of Mr. Timson, of Stamford, which he had hired for the day: he is about 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, brown hair, moustache, and tuft ou chiu, rouud freckled face; dressed in a steel mixture suit, brown felt billycock liat, with broad band, and grey mixture overcoat. Horse dark chesuut aged, about 15 hauds high, high- backed, broken knees, short forelock, scars on inside both hind legs, skin of the near hip and shoulders grazed ; brass- mounted trap harness, with the exception of backhand and crupper, which are silver- mounted, new collar, marked ' Timson,' ou the inside. Cart painted dark green and shaded with light green ; slnim venti- lating panels painted ou each side iu gteen; off shaft wrapped iu three places with copper wire ; light- coloured mackintosh apron, lined with browu aud white mixture cloth. He holds a pedlars' certificate issued at Nottingham, lst September. 1871. £ 5 reward will be paid for his apprehension and recovery of the property. Stolen on the 4th instant : a silver lever Watch, maker Butt, Chester, No. 55390, white dial, open face, gold joints, gold balance wheel, the property of Mr. F. Milling, of Newton, near Frodsham. By two Irish labourers, who have ab- sconded— one about" 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, brown hair, small sandy moustache, whiskers shaved off; dressed in blue slop, cord trousers, billycock hat, and lace- up boots. The other about 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, sandy hair, and long sandy whiskers ; dressed in a blue slop, cord trousers, lace- up boots. Absconded from Ludlow, Salop, on the 21st ultimo, charged on a warrant with stealing, a Brush, Cloth and Scraper, the property of their master, Emanuel Ecclestone, of Lower Goalford, chimney sweep : HENRY BURSNELL, 19 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, brown hair, grey eyes, moustache and beard just beginning to grow ; aud GEORGE By a man of the following description : about 50 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, sallow complexion, thin face, little eyes ( sore), brown hair, and very little whiskers : dressed in old cotton cord trousers, black billy- cock hat, and supposed to be wearing the stolen jacket and boots, as he left his old ones behind, this man is a brick maker, and is likely to be found applying for work at brick yards. Description of JOSEPH POTTER, farmer, late of Thorpe Morieux, Suffolk, charged with indecently assaulting Ann Ruddock, a girl 15 years of age, at Buxhall, on the 2nd iust. : 60 years of age, about 6 feet high, grey wliiskers, and florid complexion ; dressed in dark clothes and trousers striped with blue; he left Stowmarket on the morning of the 3rd instant, and was seen going in the direction of Debenham. Absconded from Wilton, charged with having committed an indeceut assualt upon a little girl 9 years of age : ALFRED SHERGOLD, about 50 years of age, 5 feet 10 ins. hfgli, large moutb, hair aud whiskers turning grey ; dressed in short rouud cord jacket aud trousers, and has a very awkward gait in walking, has previously worked iu the neighbourhood of Portsmouth, and Isle of Wight. Absconded on the 3rd instant, charged on a warrant with obtaining by false pretences, a quantity of black kid leather Skins, ' S.' or ' C.' pricked on the neck of each hide : E. BERGNER, a German, 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, proportionate build, dark complexion, black and curly hair, dark moustache, shaved on chin, has a scar on one side of head, and wears a silver plate, very broad square forehead, BROMLKY, 17 years of age, 4 feet 9 or 10 inches high, dark small dark sunken eyes, aud flat nose ; dressed iu dark ribbed eyes, rather stout, sud turns his toes out when walking. Description of a tramping watchmaker, who gave the name of JAMES NORMAN, charged with converting to his own use, two silver Watches, entrusted to him to repair : he is about 70 years of age, 5 feet 7 or S inches high, long grey hair, rather curly, very thin grey whiskers, stoops very much when walking ; dressed in long black frock coat, dark cloth coat aud trousers, wears a white and black stripe or red neck- tie. A woman of the following description is charged with obtaining in Rochdale, on the 3rd instant, several articles of women's Wearing Apparel by pretending to tell fortunes : about 40 years of age, rather tall, slender figure, sallow com- plexion, has a large wart or soft lump on one side of her fore- head ; she travels in company with a man, a tinker and vest and trousers, and high hat; carries a brown leather case umbrella mender, and has with her a girl about 10 years of with strap across his shoulders, which contain his working age.
