ALEXANDER McKAY, is charged on a warrant with forgery, at Leeds, about 40 years of age, about 5 feet 5 inches high, sallow complexion, light hair, bald on top of his head, pockpitted, cross eyed, medium build ; dressed iu hlack cloth shooting coat, black vest, aud a pair of dirty dark grey rough engineering trousers, with the stripe taken out, is a carpet weaver oy trade. Information to be given to Superintendent Hunt, Central Police Office, Town Hall, Leeds,— Bow- street, July 3. Description of HENRY KAY, charged on a - warrant with forgery : about 35 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high, stout build, florid complexion, light hair ( vct- y thin on the top of his head), and whiskeis rouud the face ; dressed in a dark mixture suit and tall black paramatta hats he is a leather dlesser and has a relative iu Sheffield. Information to be given to Superintendent Hunt, Leeds, Yorkshire. Bow- street, June 28. ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PERSON. Stolen from the person of George Jervis, of Horseley Heath, Tipton, on the 1st instant, whilst at New Tcwn Wake, West Broiuwich : a double- cased silver lever Watch, No. 675, maker Johnson, Liverpool. Also stolen from the person, of James Grovenor, Oldbury- lane, West Bromwich, on the same day, and at the same place : a silver English lever Watch, No. 4659/, maker Benson, London. Description of two men charged on a warrant with stealing, from the person of Stephen Goodwin, at Congleton, £ 13 in Gold and a leather Purse : JOSEPH DOXEY, fustian cutter, 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, slender make, fresh complexiou, giey eyes, sandy hair. GEORGE MELLOR, fustian cutter, 25 or 26 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, pale complexion, grey eyes, light hair, no whiskers, pockpitted. They are supposed to have gone to Manchester or neighbour- hood, aud frequent low public acd beer houses. Stoleu from a gentleman's scarf between 9 aud 10 p. m. on the 24th instant, in Bethnal Green- road, near Wilmot- square : a rough Pearl, 4 inches long, made as a union pin, but without a chain, & c. Stolen from the person of a gentleman in the city of Ripon on the 17th instant: a dark leather Pocket- book con- taining two .£ 100 Bank of England Notes. ,£ 10 reward will be paid on the recovery of the notes and conviction of the offeuder or offenders. Stolen from the person at Henley Regatta, on the 20th instant: a very old- fashioned massive gold hunting Watch, enamelled face, and plain cases : on the outside of inner case is a crest— a dragon's head and S— S on each side. £ 5 will be paid on recovery. A man who gave the name of JAMES LENNOX was on the 25th instant committed to hard labour for six months for stealing the above : he is 25 years of age 5 feet 5$ inches high, of Jewish appearance, black hnir, smail black whiskers and moustache, atid well dressed. Stolen from the person on the 19th instant, at the railway station, and upon the race- course, Beverley : a gold Eugliah lever Watch, No. 2474; a ditto pair- cased, English lever Watch, No. 62931, maker Ellison, Hull ; a gold lever Watch, No. 43560, maker Greshan and Son ; a gold lever Watch, engine- turned cases, jewel'ed in thirteen holes, dome not fold; and a silver lever Watch, No. 21641. On the morning of the 21st instant, George Smith, of Woodbridge, was violently assaulted, and some Food, which was in a wrapper with a brown border stolen from him. By a tramp, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, dark hair and complexion, scars on face ; dressed iu old black clothes, black hard felt hat, and trousers torn at the bottom. Information to be given to Superintendent Freeman, or to Acting Sergeant Phillippo, Woodbridge, Suffolk.— Bow- street, June 2K BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. During the night of the 1st instant, the dwelling- house of Thomas P. Descon, Esq., was burglariously entered, and the following property stolen therein : two silver tea Spoons, one marked ' F. E.' or ' A. E.,' the other ' H.;' a silver mus- tard Spoon ; and two silver Tops of cruets. Information to be given to Superintendent Morgan, Police Station, Cran- brook, Kent.— Bow- street, July 3. Between 5 and 10 p. m. on the 1st iustant, an entrance was effected into a dwelling- house in Coventry, and the following property stolen therein : 4 silver Table Spoous, plain pattern, old- fashioned. 12 silver Tea Spoons, fiddle pattern. 1 silver Sugar Tongs. 5 silver Tea Spoons, old- fashioned, aud of various patterns. 4 silver Salt Spoons, very small and old- fashioned. 1 silver Sugar Basin, boat shaped, plain, loose handle across it. 1 silver Goblet, plain, will hold half- a- pint. 1 silver Muffineer, plain. 1 silver Cup, small size, inscribed ' To Tom Alfred Nuttall,' & c. 1 silver chamber Candlestick and Extinguisher, tulip pattern. 1 silver Brooch, filagree, butterfly pattern. 1 ladies' half- hoop Ring, about 13 brilliants. 1 gold Geneva Watch, repeater, large size, white dial, italic figures, very old, plain cases, milled edges. 1 mourning Ring, square top, set with seed pearls, engraved ' Ann Stevenson.' 1 mourning Ring, engraved ' Mary Swettenham.' Information to be given to Chief Constable Norris, Coventry, Warwickshire.— Bow- street, July 3. Between 10 p. m. on the 27th and 7 a. m. on the 28th ultimo, the dwelling- house of Clara Dawson, of Sittingbourne, was broken into, and stolen therein : a quantity of skeins of Silk, of various colours, used for making purses, several packets of Fallosile Silk, and a shilling Postage Stamp. In- formation to be given to Superintendent Mayne, Police Court, Sittingbourne, Kent.— Bow- street, July 1. Between ll'lo p. m. the 29th, and 6.30 a. m. on the 30th ultimo, the dwelling- house of Mrs. Haygard, of East Malling, was btoken into, and the following articles stolen therein : a pair of silver Candlesticks, chased ; a silver Ink Stand, chased border ; and ^- dozen desert Knives and Forks, plated. Information to be given to Superintendent Hulse, Police Court, West Malling, Kent. - Bow- street, July 1. Between 8 a. m. and 1 p. m. on the 22nd instant, the cottage of James Morris, of Hopton Castle, Salop, was broken aud entered, and stolen therein : a moleskin Waistcoat, jean back, lined with calico, and has seven pearl buttons dowu the frout, no sleeves ; a very old yellow and dark silk pocket Handkerchief ; and about 2s. 6d. in Silver and Bronze money. Supposed by a tramp, about 55 years of age, about 5 feet 1 inch high, sallow complexim, dark hair, cut short, excepting in front, where it is woru in ringlets : he is supposed to have been a sailor, and sells songs at farm- houses, is well known in Shropshire and the adjoining counties. Information to be given to Superintendent Baxter, Church Stretton, or to Sergeant Lear, Bromfield, Salop.— Bow- street, June 26. Description of THOMAS HANSON, a pork butcher who abscouded from Derby on the 8th instant, charged with breaking into a warehouse and stealing two sides of Bacon and a Ham : he is about 35 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, brown hair, bald on top of head, whiskers on the throat, niauy blotches on the face, rather round shouldered, has worked iu Manche iter, Liverpool, and Nottingham. In- formation to be given to Head Constable Hilton, Derby, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street. June 24. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING Supposed to have been stolen from a field at Salehurst, Sussex, the property of Mr. Charles Francis Brill, farmer, ou the night of the 1st instant: a very small brown mare Pony, j aged, with white saddle marks, aud in good condition. Stolen from Cholmondeston, near Nantwich, Cheshire, on the 2nd instant: a dark brown cart Horse, 6 years old, 15 hands 3 inches high, has had cracked heels. Stolen from a stable in St. James's- square, Wolver- hampton, on the night of the 2nd instant: a grey ab Horse, aged, 15 hands 1 inch high, lame, fresh wound above off knee aud on loin, in good condition. £ J reward will be paid on recovery of the horse and conviction of the offender or offenders. Description of WILLIAM PAGE, who is charged ( under the Bailee Act; with stealing, on the 28th ltimo, at Nuneaton, a basket Trap, Pony, aud Harness, the property of William Peberdy, of Leicester : he is a shoemaker, a native of Coventry, but lately residing at Leicester, 35 ye : s of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout build, round face, dark complexion, black hair, black whiskers round chin, hazel eyes : •' - i- » ed in grey mixture coat and vest, brown trousers, and black billy- cock hat; he left Nuneaton on the 29th ultimo, in a small plum coloured trap, drawn by a brown pony, 14 L: uds high, with black legs, tail cut above the hocks, and brown harness, silver- mounted. Information to be given to Superintendent Austin, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, July 5. Description of GEORGE SMITH, alias WESTON LEE, cloth hawker, charged on a warrant with stealing on the 25th ultimo, at Stamford, a Horse, Harness, and Dog Cart, the property of Mr. Timson, of Stamford, which he 1 d hired for the day: he is about 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, brown hair, moustache, aud tuft on chin, rouud freckled face; dressed in a steel mixture suit, brown felt billycock hat, with broad band, and grey mixture overcoat. Horse dark chesnut, aged, about 15 hauds high, high- backed, broken knees, short forelock, scars on inside both hiud legs, skin of the near hip and shoulders grazed ; brass- mounted trap harness, vrith the exception of backhand aud crupper, which are silver- mounted, new collar, marked ' Timson,' on the inside. Cart paiuted dark green and shaded with light green ; sham venti- lating panels painted on each side in green; off shaft wrapped in three places with copper wire ; light- coloured mackintosh apron, lined with brown and white mixture cloth. He holds a pedlars' certificate issued at Nottingham, 1st September, 1871. £ b reward will be paid for his apprehension and recovery of the projierty. Stolen from a field at Brownsover, on the 2nd ultimo : a dark red- roan stout- built cart Horse, about 9 or in vears old, 15 hands 2 inches high, black legs, mane, and taiL Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Palmer, Rugby, Warwickshire.— Bow- street, July 5. Stolen on the 23rd ultimo from Rice's Grounds, near Cutcombe : a black Horse, about 14 hands high, aged, with stump tail, had some grey hairs under the saddle, and but one shoe on ; also a bay Mare, about 14 bauds high, aged, well bred, long tail, and small star on forehead, unshod ; both horses are in good condition, the property of Mr. William Stoate, of Selworthy, Somerset. A man of the following description was seeu near the place shortly before the animals were missed : about 5 feet 5 inches high, dark complexion, full face, and whiskers round chin ; dressed iu a dark cloth short coat, dark trousers, and rouud billycock hat; he had a small black aud white bull dog with him, aud » -.< s driviug a Horse aud Cart; the horse was of a dark colour, about 14 hauds high, with stump tail : the cart was badly made, and had a covering of sticks and yellow oilcloth or tarpauling forming a triangle. Stolen from off the Mountain, near Colly Farm, iu the Parish of Merthyr Tydfil, between S p. m. on the 29th aud 7 a- iu. on the 30th ultimo : a black draught Mare, 3 years old, 15 hauds high, small white star on forehead, short mane long tail, white spot near hoof of right hind leg, the property of Morgan Thomas, Colly Farm. £ 1 reward will be given on conviction aud recovery of the mare. Stolen ou the 23rd ultimo from the Gravel Pits, Grove- park, Chiswick : a black gelding, 3 years old, about 15i hands high, white face aud heels, mark of a recent scratch on fore- head, loug mane aud tail, very fat, had on one shoe only.— Metropolitan Police, T Division, July 1. Supposed to have been stolen, during the night of the 22ud instaut, from Hindheath Farm, Sandbach : two mare Ponies, one 8 dark chesnut, very fat, 0 years old, 13 hauds PO L I C E G A Z E T T E . Stolen from Blythburgh, ou the night of the 20th inst., the property of Amos Barber, hawker: a very short and thick dark bay Mare, aged, about 15 hands high, large white spot ou each wither, a place ou the ramp near tlitf tail, ;( bOut the size of a shilling, with no hair on, flat- footed, and in good condition ; was traced as far as Kelsale, goiug ill the direction of Ipswich, straying on the roadside. Absconded on the 2Sth ultimo, charged with stealing £ i, the monies of his master: a youth, 16 years of age, 5 feet 2 iuches high, fair hair and complexion, aud blue eyes; dressed iu a brown overcoat, black vest, lavender colour trousers, side- spring boots, and billycock hat.— Metropolitan Police, E Division, July 5. Absconded ou the 29th ultimo, charged with stealing .£ 12 i3s. 6d. in Money aud a Cheque for £ 4 4s., the property of his master: a youth, 17 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, ruddy complexion, dark brown hair, short, blotched face, and abscess under left jaw ; dressed in a snuff- coloured coat, light lavender trousers, light vest, spring- side boots, and billycock hat.- Metropolitan Police, E Division, July 5. Description of JAMES McKELVIE, charged ou a warrant with embezzling the sum of £ 100, the property of the Cleator Moor Co- operative Society, Limited : he was a giocer at a branch establishment at Rowrah, parish of Arlecdon, 24 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, sallow complexion, very small whiskers, black hair, slender figure, a native of Ireland, aud is married ; he has beeu in America for some time, aud returned about 18 months ago, and it is supposed that he will endeavour to go back to America. Information to be given to Superintendent Little, White- haven, or at the County Chief Constable's Office, Carlisle, Cumberland.— Bow- street, July 5. Description of THOMAS PHILLIPS, a boatman, and dresses as such, charged with larceny, and abscoudiug from his bail, at Worcester, on the 1st instant: he is 25 years of age, 5 feet 7| iuches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, dark grey eyes, high cheek bones, he has a cut mark on right side of head, boil marks on right wrist aud left arm, nail of second fiuger ou right baud injured. Information to he given to Deputy Chief Constable Phillips, Worcester, who holds a warrant for his apreheusion.— Bow- street, Jv. li/ 5. Stolen at Coventry by A. ADOLPHUS, alias GRAVEL, a Belgian or Dutch Jew, about 5 feet 7 inches high, black haii' and whiskers, wears spectacles, speaks with a foreign accent, aud professes to cut corns ; dressed in a black frock coat, and new high silk hat, the following property : a gold albert Chain, 15 carat, cable pattern, about 2 oz. weight ; an English gold lever Watch, white enamel dial, No. 7035 ; a silver lever Watch, maker Carringham, No. 1529 ; a silver Geneva Watch, silver dial, 28951 ; 2 gold Guards, one fancy pattern, the other, secret link ; a Turkish Medal; a thick gold Riug, set with coral; a gold scarf Pin, diamonds and carbuncles ; a massive wedding Ring, weighing 5 dwt. ; a silver lever hunting Watch, gold hands aud balance ; a silver lever Watch, crystal glass, golu hands and balance. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Davies, City Police, Canterbury, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bou- street, July 5. Stolen from a brick yard at Slapewath, near Guisbro', on the 1st inst.: a black pilot cloth . Jacket, patched at shoulders, lined with red and blue flannel, much worn ; a blue flannel Shirt; two pairs of ribbed grey worsted Stockings ; a dark silk Handkerchief, with red and green spots; .- n old black cloth Cap, with peak ; a wash- leather Purse, wiih parting in the middle; aud a pair of light lace- up Boots, much worn. By a man of the following description : about 50 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, sallow complexion, thin face, little eyes ( sore), brown hair, and very little whiskers : dressed in old cotton cord trousers, black billy- cock hat, and supposed to be wearing the stolen jacket and boots, as he left his old ones behind, this man is a brick maker, and is likely to be found applying for work at brick yards. Information to be given to Superintendent Prest, North Riding Constabulary Guisbro', Yorkshire.— Bow- street, July 3. Absconded from Tetbury, on the 25th ultimo, charged with embezzlement : WILLIAM DAVIES, journeyman baker and confectioner, 28 or 29 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, thin sallow complexion, aud high cheek bones, brown hair, with two patches of white coarse hair on the crown of his head, rather dark moustache, and splay footed ; dressed in light drab clothes, and black felt hat, with green lining. Information to bo given to Sergeant White, Tetbury, Gloucestershire.— Bow- street, July 1. Stolen on the morning of the 2Sth ultimo, at Mr. Jones's, of Emstry, in the parish of Atcham, Salop : a red leather Purse, with band, ' Railway Ticket' on one side when open, and ' Postage' on the other in printing, containing 5s. 6d„ the property of Sarah Broom. By a German tramping glazier, who repaired the window, about .35 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, sallow complexion, black moustache aud whiskers ; dressed in dark clothes aud low black hat. Infor- mation to be given to Sergeant Davies, County Constabulary, Shrewsbury, Salop.— Bow- street, July 1. Absconded on the 18th ultimo, from Hammersmith, charged with embezzling 21s., and other sums, received on account of his employer: JOHN PONTIN, by trade a journeyman baker, 25 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, sallow complexion, dark hair, blue eyes ; dressed iu drab coat, dark mixture trousers, and deer- stalker hat. A warrant has been issued for his apprehension.— Metropolitan Police, T Division, Juli/ 1. Ferry, Flintshire : a black cloth Jacket; a brown- coloured Vest ; a pair of Trousers ; a pair of blucher Boots ; aud an old Case containing biuocutar Glasses, oue of the glasses slightly blemished, maker Dolan & Co., Loudon. By DAVID MORGAN, of Merthyr, South Wales, sailor, 20 years of age, 5 feet li iuches high, swarthy complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, oval visage, proportionate figure, two blue marks on right wrist, tear ou back of left hand, three blue marks over right eye ; he was discharged on the moruing of the 12th inst., from Mold Gaol, where he had been undergoing a mouth's imprisonment for stealing a pair of boots, from a vessel at Connah's Quay, Flintshire. Stolen from the shop of Thomas Davies, of Builth, black- smith, between 5 and 0 a. m. on the 24th iustaut : six uew shoeing Rasps, flat, one side fine, the other coarse, 14 iuches long; two uew Files, three^ square ; two ditto, half round; and ouu ditto, flat, 14 inches long. Also stolen from the dwellitifc- hottse, at the Same time : two plated Salt Cellars, gilt ; Uside. By. a tRamping smith, who had worked for Davies and lodged iu the lionise : from 20to 23 years of age, 5 " feet 2 or 3 inches high, thin 1tartTires,~ kmg nose, dark pale complexion, brown hair, no wbisljqrs, and veyy thin moustache; dressed in old grey round hard hat, and old " dark grey jacket and trousers-; he says he was a native of Staffordshire, aud is supposed to have gone to the ironworks in South Wales.
