No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. As the Law ( 48 Geo. 3, c. 140, s. 44,) only permits the insertion of Notices respecting Felonies, no other description of Notice can be inserted in the Hue- and- Cry. DUBLIN, TUESDAY, APRIL 30, 1872. SCOTTISH POLICE. Stolen from the person, at Bangour steeple- chase races, on Tuesday, 9th April current:— A gold lever watch, gold face, hands, and figures, 10 or 1: 2 years old, number believed to be 22,391; maker's name, Bracebridge, London ; value £ 50. A gold hunting three- quarter- plate lever watch, white face, black hands, number 9,008 ; maker's name, Robert B'ryson and Sons, Edinburgh, and marked in. ink 805, value £ 37. ' " ' Also, stolen by violence from the person, at Bath- pate, late same evening:— A silver patent lever \ vafch, silver dial, gold hands, gold chapter figures, number 44,602, single- cased, engine- turned, and much worn, value £ 2 10 « ., having attached apiece of black silk cord for a guard, and a brass key with John Smith, Watchmaker, Bathgate, stamped on it; a dark leather purse, with brass clasps outside and inside, much worn, containing 15 « ., or thereby, in silver; a pocket pen- knife, brown wooden handle, small piece broken off point of blade. Search and inquiry requested to be made at pawn offices, watchmakers' shops, and other likely places, for the above watches ; and information of any trace obtained forwarded to the Chief - Constable, Linlithgow. Constabulary Office, Linlithgow, 15th April, 1872. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. Dublin Castle, 14th March, 1872 Whereas it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that about the hour of ten o'clock on the night of Friday, the lst of March instant, a quantity of gunpowder, enclosed in a canvas bag, which also • contained pieces of stone and iron, was laid by some person or persons unknown, on one of the window- sills of the residence of Mr. John Lalor, solicitor, at Mount- town, Kingstown, in the county of Dublin, and there exploded, by which the frame of the window was shattered, and Mr. Lalor's life placed in immi- nent danger: . - His Excellency, for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS to any person or persons who shall, within " six months from the date hereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the person or persons who committed the same. By His Excellency's command, T, H. Burke. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by the Chief Commissioner of the Dublin Metropolitan Police, to those who may become entitled to it under th « conditions of this Proclamation. Description of James Templeton and Robert Marshall, natives of Aughavarry, who stand charged tfth having, on the 27th March, 1872, in the barony of Upper Toome, parish of Ballyscullion Grange, seriously assaulted Thomas Brown, ef Aughavarry, whereby his skull was fractured:— 1. James Templeton— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair cortiplexion, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 40 years of age, fair hair; wore a black coat, cord irowser » , black vest. 2. Robert Marshall— Dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, about 47 years of nge, black hair. James, William, and Charles Bovill surrendered themselves. ( c. 41067— 24402.) James Glass ( assault endangering life) not ar- rested; Hue- and- Cry, 19th April, 1873. Fermanagh Description of Anne M'Grath alias Ross, native of Clones, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd day of April, 1872, in the barony of Clonkelly, parish of Clones, murdered her illegitimate infant child, by drowning him in the river of Clontivren :— Two front teeth rather large; good- looking ; large gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet high, about 18 or 2ft years of age, light brown hair; wore a brown winsey dress, dark red shawl with black border, no hat or boots. ( c. 38748— 11708.) riot " and assault:— Small scar on upper lip, wants a front tooth in upper jaw ; awkward gait, is altogether a big awkward- looking man ; gray eyes, straight nose, sallow complexion, broad face, stout make, 6 feet high, about 32 or 33 years of age, brown hair ; wore & gray frieze frock coat, cord trowsers, tweed vest. Description of John Fox, native of Cappagh, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 11th December, 1871, in the barony of Dunmore, parish of Dunmore, together with Edward Fox and John Henighan, seriously assaulted Owen Connell, thereby endangering his life :— Thick nose, ruddy complexion, round face, stout make, about 5 feet 6| inches high, about 38 years of age, sandy hair Warrant for his arrest in the hands of the Dunmore Constabulary. Description of Patrick Bond, native of Adare, county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the night of 4th inst., at Ballyanns, in the barony of Lower Connello, parish of Kilbradran, county Limerick, assaulted Johanna Culligan, by striking her on the head with stones, from the effects of which her life is at present in danger:— Blue eyes, cocked nose, pale complexion, round' face, medium make; ordinary feet, 5 feel 7 inches high, about 26 years of age, brown hair; wore a long black coat, corduroy trowsers, cloth vest. • John Bond has surrendered himself. Fleury, native of Kinsale, county Cork, who stands charged with having, on the 30th March, 1872, in the city of Limerick, absconded from the Bank of Ireland, in which he was teller, taking with him a large sum of money in notes and gold:— Steady- looking appearance, walks quickly, erect and with a slight swagger; small eyes, regular nose, sandy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 26 years of age. sandy hair, small sandy whiskers cut square, and small moustache; wore generally a light tweed suit' and low round hat. Description of George Conway, native of Anna- macoolian, who stands charged with having, on the 17th April, 1872, in the barony of Mohill, parish of Cloone, escaped from the custody of the police while awaiting bail in the Petty Sessions Court- house, Cloone, he being returned for trial at assizes for Londonderry. Description of an ass, the property of Peter M'Glynn, of Cloonart North, parish of Mohill, and barony of Longford, which was stolen out of his stable, on the night of the 16th or morning of the 17th iiistant:— A castrated he- ass, about 11 years of age, brown colour, striped on left side of the breast, a small white spot on the right side of his neck, swelled a little on right leg near the fetlock, value for £ 2.
