The Names of Persons charged with Offences who are known but not in custody, and a Description of those who are not known, their Appearance, Dress, and other marks of Identity. The Names of Accomplices and Accessories, toith every particular which may . lead to their Apprehension. Information to be given to Superintendent Davis, Canterbury.— Bow- street, February 8. The house of Mrs. Jervis, Bankside, Darlaston, near Stone, was broken into on the 30th ultimo, and the following money and property stolen,, viz. : Twelve Shillings in Silver; one silk Neckerchief, blue ground and white spots ; one ditto, white ground and coloured border; one satin ditto, blue plaid, stained with perspiration, and two ditto, plain black. Information to be given to Superintendent Crisp, Stone, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, February ' 6. During the night of the lst instant, or early the follow- ing morning, the house of Mr. George Campbell, of Bangor, Flintshire, ' was entered, and a lady's gold lever Watch, much scratched about the key hole, with a heavy imitation jet Chain attached, and 1J lbs. of Butter, stolen therein. Information to be given to Superintendent Bolton, Hanmer, Flintshire. — Bow- street, February 6. Between 5 p. m. on the 30th ultimo, and 2 p. m. on the 4tli instant, the parish church of Fulmer, Bucks, was feloniously entered, and an English eight day Dial, in mahogany case, maker supposed to be Collindridge, stolen therein. Information. to be given to Superintendent Dunham, Slough, Bucks.— Bow- street, February 6. During the night of the lst instant, the rectory house, Widford, was burglariously entered, and the following articles, the property of the Rev. W. M. Buswell, stolen therein : four silver- plated Dishes, with covers and handles; a plated sacramental Chalice ; a Paten and a Flagon, both silver ; an Alms Dish, plated ; two silver Thimbles; a Tea Spoon aud a Mustard Spoon, both silver, aud marked ' W. M, B.;' a silver On the 3rd instant, at about a 6- 15 p. m., a straw Stack, j Top of a muffineer ; and two- thirds of a bottle of Gin. In- of about 7 tons, was set on fire. £ 20 reward will be paid to : formation to be given to Superintendent Dobson, Constabulary any person giving such information to Superintendent Laxton, j Office, Chelmsford, Essex.— Bow- street, February 3. Stolen from a stable at Batley, on the night of the 3rd instant : a black Mare, 10 years old, 15J hands high, short mane, worn with collar, very little hair on tail, small white saddle mark, has hard knots on outside of each hock, lightly shod. Information to be given to Superintendent Airton, West Riding Constabulary, Dewsbury.— Bow- street, Feb. 10. In possession of the Police at Coventry, and supposed to have been stolen : a very dark brown Mare, 14 hands high 6 years old, long switch tail, small patch of white on near side of rump ; also a dark iron- grey Mare, 14 hands 3 inches high, 6 years old, half bred, off fore foot slightly white, long coat, the tail has been docked within the last few days Informa- tion to be given to Chief Constable Norris, City Police Office, Coventry.— Bmo- street, Februa" y 8. Committed for trial at the next assizes at Aylesbury, on two charges of larceny: WILLIAM HARVEY, alias KING, a blacksmith, 26 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, grey eyes, brown hair inclined to be sandy, whiskers shaved off, tuft of sandy hair on chin, and scar on right arm from a cut or burn ; dressed in a dark brown double- breasted coat with velvet collar, black cloth vest, grey mixture cloth trousers, white muffler with yellow and black stripe, and soft dark cloth billycock hat, ; states he is a native of Darlaston, Staffordshire. He had in his possession a small Pocket Diary and Almanack ( Pawsey's) fov 1865, with red morocco cover ; also the following pawn tickets : one dated 8th Dec., 1870, for a Suit, 6s., at James B. Thrap's, 200, Brick- lane, Spitalfields; one 9th Dec., 1870, for a Sui:, 8s., at Joseph Jones's, 31, Church- street, Spitalfields ; one dated 21st Dec., for a Greatcoat, 10s., at John Bressey's, High- street, Stratford ; one 21st Dec., 1870, for a silver Watch, 8s., at John Willitt's, Essex- buildings, Stratford. Stolen on the night of the 4th instant, from a marsh near the river Thames, in the parish of Stone, near Dartford : two Kent ewe Sheep, supposed to have been taken away in a boat, the sheep were slaughtered in the marsh, and the skins and entrails left behind. Stolen on the evening of tue 3rd instant, from the person of Robert Smith, at Reading, an old- fashioned silver lever stop Watch, with an imitation gold curb Chain and spade Guinea attached ; seven £ 5 Notes, and about £ 70 in Gold. By two men and a woman : one is about 50 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, pale complexion, brown hair, clean j shaved, scar on right cheek, stout make, and broad shoulders ; j Between 9 p. m. 29th and 5' 30 a. m. on the 30th ultimo, dressed in dark brown overcoat, dark trousers, and fashion-. the dwelling- house of William Dobson Adams, of Rease able hat ; carried a travelling rug, black on one side and Heath, Worleston, near Nantwich, was broken and entered, leopard spots the other ; had the appearance of a horse and stolen therein : four silver Tea Spoons, marked ' A. D.;' dealer ; the other is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches a nickle silver Tea Spoon ; two boy's Overcoats, one a rough high, dark complexion, black hair, little or no whiskers or blue cloth, lined with bl. ie and black woollen plaid, the other moustache, dark blue loose jacket, dark trousers, black and black cloth, lined with serge ; a pair of women's elastic- side red plaid scarf, and fashionable silk hat ; and the woman is Boots, nearly new, No. 4 size ; a pair of men's lace- up water- about 40 years of age, rather short and stout, dark com- • tight Boots, newly soled and heeled ; a woollen Shirt, dark plexion, blotches or red spots on nose and lower part of face,' grey with red stripe, nearly new, button holes worked with speaks with an Irish or north country accent ; dressed in a silk ; an old white flannel Petticoat ; an old red flannel black silk dress, black or blue cloth jacket, and dark bonnet j Shirt; and about 1 lb. of cooked Mutton. On the evening of the 6th instant the house of Mrs. Mary Binsley, at Wombourn, was entered, and the following property stolen : an old- fashioned silver Watch, horizontal escapement, jewelled in five holes ; three silver tea Spoons, engraved ' E. R.;' three silver tea Spoons, engraved ' J. W.;' a pair of silver sugar Tongs, marked ' E. D.;' a gold Ring, set with turquoise ; a gold Ring, set with different stones ; two cameo Brooches; a Locket; a gold Ear- ring, set with garnet; a gold Key ; several small French aud German Coins, in Silver and Copper ; a hair Bracelet, with gold snaps ; and about 16s. > n Silver. Information to be given to Inspector JMacCrea, Tettenhall, or to P. C. Biddulph, Wombourn, Wol- verhampton. — Bow- street, February 8. Stolen, by means of housebreaking, three boxes of Cigars ; one fancy Box ; two scent Bottles, with silver Tops; a woollen Antimacassar ; a green Necktie; two or three bottles of Gin and Brandy, from Casks ; a quantity of Tobacco, Bread, and Butter ; a few postage Stamps : a linen Cheshire.— B< ru- street, February 1. On the morning of the 31st ultimo, the shop of Mr. J. Winkle, High- street, Westbromwich, watchmaker, was broken into, and the following property stolen therein : two English silver lever Watches, silver dials, maker J. Winkle, West Bromwich, Nos. 1844 and 24037; a silver lever Watch, enamelled dial, No. 1341; two f- plate silver lever Watches, hands set at back, Nos. 12034 and 12030 ; two silver Geneva Watches, Nos. 5432 and 53423; and about thirty gold wedding Rings, marked ' W. S.' Supposed by two men of the following description: one tall and stout, fresh com- plexion, brown hair, and small brown whiskers ; dressed in cloth cap and long dark overcoat; the other a stout man ; dressed in billycock hat and short dark overcoat. £ 5 reward will be paid by Mr. J. Winkle on recovery of the property and conviction of the offenders. Information to be given to Superintendent Woollaston, West Bromwich, Staffordshire. — Bow- street, February 1. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Stolen during the Spring of 1870, from Dolychgenog and Bwlchwalter sheepwalks, in tlia parish Gwnnws, Cardigan- shire, the property of Mr. James Mitchell, a large number of mountain- bred Sheep, branded across the near cheek, a hole February 8. Description of two men in - custody at Brackley, charged with stealing four Horses at Steene on the 19th ultimo, the property of Thomas Horwood, Esq. : JOSEPH WILSON, 23 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, thin face, brown hair cut short, no whiskers or moustache, grey eyes, speck on right, and dressed in a brown cloth coat with raised seams and velvet collar, vest same material, brown mixture cloth trousers with dark stripe down sides, fitting tight to leg, black and white worsted muffler- round neck, black soft felt hat turned up at sides, and lace- up shoes ; states he is a native of Coventry, where he left about a month ago, and a hawker; and ALFRED SMITH, 16 years of age, 5 feet 1 inch high, fair complexion, broad nose, brown hair ( rather curly) cut short, dark eyes, and dressed in a brown mixed suit, with dark stripe, raised seams, and velvet collar to coat, trousers fitting tight to leg, red and white wrapper round neck, black round hard hat, lace- up shoes, and wears a ring on fourth finger of left hand ; states he belongs to Blackheath, London. A third man, who goes by the name of JOE, is implicated, and not yet apprehended : he is about 35 years of age, ( 5 feet high, powerfully built, broad features, dark hair, small tuft of hair under bottom lip, and dressed in a brown or dark suit, with dark stripe and raised seams, and black soft felt hat; he wore a gold watch and chain. Information to be given to Superintendent Osborn, Towcester, or to Inspecter Botterell, Brackley, Northamptonshire.— Bow- street, February 6. Description of VINCENT TUCKER, charged with stealing ten Sheep, at Middlezoy, in the county of Somerset, on the 30th ultimo, and selling them in Bristol: he is 31 years of age, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, 5 feet 8J inches high, lost the top of the little finger of the left hand ; dressed in a dark grey suit, and black bowler hat, was discharged from Portland Prison on the 26th Nov-, ember last, having been sentenced to 7 years penal servitude, on 15th December, 1864, at Taunton for burglary. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Jeffs, North Petherton, Somerset, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- February 3. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT. Absconded on the 27th ultimo, charged with Stealing £ 42 in ( Sold : a man, late secretary to a Foresters' club, held at the Oxford and Cambridge public- house, Margaret . street, Cavendish- square, 42 years of age, 5 feet S) ' inches high, fair, complexion, brown hair and whiskers, shaved under chin, 1 lame of left leg, and walks with a stick, and talks in a, short, sharp, deep tone; dressed iu black suit and high black bat.; Metropolitan Police, E Division, Febrwry 1" 0. Description of ROBERT alias JAMES PALMER, charged with felony : about 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, light complexion, whiskers supposed shaved off; is likely to be dressed in a dark jacket, cord trousers, and bowler hat; a carpenter by trade, and a native of Midsomer Norton, Somerset; was convicted - at Exeter about eight yen » fs ' ifoce and sentenced to 4 years' penal servitude, and also at Taunton about three years since, information to be given to Sergeant Wliittiug, Police Station, Kilmersdon, who holds n warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, February 10. Absconded from Glastonbury on the 23rd ultimo : EZRA JOHNS, glove cutter, charged with stealing a quantity of : Gloves, the property of his master, William Squires, fellmouger and glover, Glastonbury. He is about 28 years of age, about 6 feet high, slightly built, short black hair, sallow and long features, small moustache, no beard er * . bkore,- a Slight cast in one eye, walks very erect and quid-, and was in one of the London Police Forces about three years ago. Most likely lie will be found working at some ieatnor factory at or near Bermondsey. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Bloxham, Glastonbury, Somersetshire. - Bow- street, February 10. Absconded on the 4th instant, from Sulby Hall, North- amptonshire, charged upon a - warrant with stealing a soft dfcib waterproof Overcoat, drab velvet collar, the property of George York, groom to the Hon. W. C. Villiers ; also a silver albert watch Chain, with key attached, set with four small red stones, the property of George Chester, of Sulby, groom, HENRY GILDER, a stableman, 2;> years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, thin, fresh complexion, brown hair, no whiskers, large light blue eyes, and dressed in a suit of dark grey tweed. He states that he came from Chelmsford, where a relative keeps a large inn ; he is known at No. 95, Eaton- place- mews West, London, and at the Royal Exchange, Adams- mews, Charles- street, London. Information to be fiven to Deputy Chief Constable Stoker, Kettering, or to nspector Tye, Police Station, Little Bowden, Market Har- borough, Northamptonshire, who holds the warrant for his apprehension:— Bow- street, February 10. Absconded from Cannock, Staffordshire, oh: ; ged with embezzling the Monies of his employers : JAMES DAVID REYNOLDS, a clerk, about 43 years of age, 5 feet high, stout build, fair complexion,' grey eyes, sandy beard and moustache, both being short and" thick ; dressed when he left home in dark trousers, a top coat of rough material, and of light brown mixture, with black bone buttons, a blaek felt hat, with low round crown, had on goloshes, and walked lame from tender feet, and carried a dark stick with yellow handle: when last Seen he was going from the High to the Low Level Station at Wolverhampton, at about 4 p. m. on the 3rd instant. high,, and has a mark or scab on right cheek j dressed in dark clothes, and black hat, wife white buckle at the side. Absconded, charged with stealing from 5, St Stephen's- crescent : a red Indian Shawl ; two plain indian Dresses ; a pair of Blankets ; a pair of silk Stockings : a nurse, 45 years of age, middle height, fair complexion and hair; dressed in a black bonnet, light waterproof cloak, side- spring boots.— Metropolitan Police, X Division, February 1. Absconded, charged with embezzling £ 2 9s., from No. 72, Drury- lane, ' a man, 25 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches hi. fair complexion, brown hair and eyes, no toes on right, foot, limps in walking; dressed in dark Walking Coat, black' ve;-,; and trousers, side- spring boots, and tommy <& 0d tat— Metropolitan Police, E Division, February 1. Stolen on the night of the 28th ultimo, from the dwelling- house of Edward Perrin, of ' Chorley, near Macclesfield, Cheshire, a silver lever Watch, maker Stokes, Macclesfield, No. 7060, bull's- eye glass, with silver Guard attached. By a man ( lodger), about 20 years of age, short and stout, round face, and seal on right cheek as if from an old wound ; dressed in a Rttssian cord jacket, velvet collar, ahd black silkhandker ehief with white spots on it. Supposed to be a native of Shropshire. Information to be given to Superintendent Williamson, County Police Office, Maeclesfield.— Bow- street, February 1. 5 inches - high, spare mabe, fight brown hair, light complexion, felitfr eyes, wery few whiskers, raAer Mgh cheek bones, and dtfWed in a lomg green amodfc ( frock, nord waistcoat with sileeves, dose fitting e « j> with peak, and corduroy trousers. He has been in Leigh ton- Buzzard Union as a casual pauper, and wil 1 probably make his way down the country, calling at Unions for a night's lodgings ; he has been convicted of felony. All reasonable expenses will be paid for his appre- hension, Inforiuaiion to be given to Inspector Goodyear, Great Berkhampstead, Herts, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, February 10. Remanded until the llth instant, on a charge of larceny, _ man giving the name of JOHN DIXON, 30 years of age, 5 feet 1 inch high, dark complexion, brown eyes, dark brown toair, Whiskers shaved off, lY? ts test three upper front teeth, large nose, scars from boils on lower part of back, propor- tionate make, tad turns liis feet out ; dressed in a dark mix ture coat, Iwown v& st, blue cloth trousers, all much worn, and black cloth cap with peck of same material; says he is a latWttrer, tad a native of ' Glasgow. Information to be given to Superintendent Clarkson, North Riding Constabulary, Yorkshire.— Bow- street, February 10. FELONIES. ( Not otherwise described). Between the 2nd and 4th instant, the parish church of Fulmer, was broken and entered and stolen therein : a round English made Clock, with mahogany case, maker supposed to be Collinbridge. Information to be given to Superintendent Dunham, Slough, or to Inspector Sutton, Iver, Bucks.— Bow- street, February 8. £ 25 reward will be paid for such information as will lead to ; tfeikets for Peterborough, and inquired the route to Hull, FRAUDS AND AGGRAVATED MISDEMEANOURS. Description of EDWIN STEPHEN SOMERS, com- mitted to take his trial at the next Gloucester Quarter Sessions for fraud : he is 25 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, pale complexion, dark lair, slight dark whiskers and moustache, and dressed in billycock hat and dark clothes. It is supposed he has been previously convicted, and that he has committed similar offences elsewhere. Information to be given to Superintendent Day, Cheltenham.— Bow- st., February 10. Absconded from Santon Downham, Suffolk, on the 26th ultimo, charged with obtaining by false pretences the sum of £ 5 from William Oldman, of Thetford, ADAM JUDE. a farmer, between 30 and 4' 0 years of age, about 5 feet 6 or 7 indies high, light complexion, very little whiskers, speaks the Norfolk dialect, and usually wears a light coloured beaverteen coat and high boots. He was accompanied by his wife and three children, the eldest a boy 11 or 12 years of Jude left Ely on the 26th ultimo, by train, taking his apprehension. Information to be given to Superintendent Holland, Wednesbury, to Serjeant Barnes, Cannock, Who holds a warrant for bis apprehension, or at any of the County i ;.. On the morning of the 29 th ultimo, the body of a male child, about 3 weeks old, was found drowned iu the River Eamont, Westmoreland, wrapped in a woman's chemise, and tied up in a square piece of flannel, nearly new, within which was a stone weighing 12 lbs. ; the child was' dressed in a white calico chemise, trimmed with edging round neck and sleeves, and small flannel band round waist. An inquest was held and an open verdict returned.
