He lias the appearance of a tramp, and was traced to Stourbridge, where tie offered the Bridle for sale, and from there to Small Heath, near Birmingham, he may probably be found at a low lodging- house or tramp ward. Descriptions of HENRY FARGUS, alias SLAMEY FOX, who absconded from the Borough of Great Grimsby on the 30th ultimo, charged with stealing one hundred weight ot Oakum, the property of James Henry Hallett. He is about 61 years ot age, about, 6 feet 4 inches high, very slender built aud thin face, a running tore on one ( supposed left) leg, which causes him to walk lame and bends his body to left Bice when walking; drest- ed in an old cloth cap with peak which he wears on one side his head, white canvas round jacket, dirty light ci, loured moleskin ( or fearnaught) trousers, and a pair or very old boots. He is a tramping labourer, but may seek for employment iu a butcher's slaughter- house, and is well- known in Hull. Prior to being employed by Mr. Dobson he was a re- porter for the ' Farnworth Observer' newspaper, near Bolton previous to that he was employed at the Bank Top Railway Station, Manchester ; he also formerly kept a newsagent's shop in the North of England, in the neighbourhood of Newcastle- on- Tyne, and during the last month he kept the Nelson Inn beerhouse, at Springfield, Salford. Absconded from Woking on the 28th ultimo, charged with stealing seven Half- sovereigns the property of tils master, and for whose apprehension a warrant has been issued : JOSEPH MESSENGER a butcher, 22 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches hub, very light, hair, a little on chiu and upper lip, blue eyes, and a wound < u one of his legs. He is well known in Vaux- hall and Waterloo- road. A erdare, by tahe pretences, by giving cheques on the Provincial Banking Corporation, Limited, Cardiff Branch, pay- able to beater, but when presented tliey are returned no account; he left Cardiff on the 12ih ultimo, and stayed at. Aberdare tbat night : he is from 30 to 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, fresh complexion, rough sandy hair, rather sandy whiskers, short and ousby round the chin fall features, of gentlemanly appeaiance, wears a cradle to support his back, which rises about 2 inches tsbove bis shoulders when he stands, states he has recently broken his ribs ; dressed in a Buit of grey tweed, black bowler hat, aud has the appearance of an educated Irish- man ; be puts up at Hotels where he makes himself acquainted with cieigymen or gentlemen, aud gets the cheques cashed, when tliey are present, which throws any suspicion aside. Escaped from Dolgelly Gaol, on the night, of tbe 5th instant, EDMUND WILLIAMS, alias EDMUND y GOGRWR, who was undergoing a sentence of 18 months imprisonment, for burglary : 28 years of age, 5 feet inches high, proportionately built, daik brown hair, brown eyes, pale complexion, no whiskers, ruther high forehead, downcast look has an impediment in his speech, and speaks rather low ; he is supposed to have changed the prison clothing, and to be now dressed in grey trousers, black coat, vest and cap ; he is a labourer, has been at sea tor a short time, is a native of Dolgelly, and can speak English well. Has a relative at Llangollen, another at Manchester, and another at Crewe. He has been working at Llangollen, Manchester, and Crewe, and WHS in Knutsford Prison iu 1868, for larceny. £ 3 reward will be paid for his apprehension. Description of WILLIAM DRUMMOND, musician, who is awaiting his trial at Huntingdon, charged with stealing a silver v.- rge Watch, not recovered : he is 19 years of age, 6 feet 3 inches high, blue eyes light brown hair, fair complexion ; dressed in au old black alpaca coat, two outside pockets on the hips, and one on left breast, black and red mixture vest, brown cloth trous rs, fitting tight to the legs, elastic side spring boots, imitation lace up, aud an old black felt hat, with broad brim ; a native of Chatteris. Isle of Ely, of late years has been travelling about attending fairs and feasts. Description of two men committed for trial on the 24th ultimo, at the next quarter sessions, holden at Northallerton, on a charge of felony : WILLIAM. EDWARD BAILEY, a clerk, 24 years of ago, 5 feet 11 inches high, fresh complexion, brown eyes, sandy hair, inclined to curl, and slender figure; dressed in black cloth coat, and vest, dark grey mixture trousers, black necktie, black felt hat, and shabby spring- side boots; is fond of music and singinc, and can play the piano. GEORGE ALFRED BAILEY, a clerk, 23 years of age, 6 feet 8} inches high, swarthy complexion, bazel eyes, dark brown curly hair, parted in centre, and slender figure ; dressed in black cloth suit, black necktie, black silk hat, and spring- side boots, much worn. They are brothers, and natives of Leeds, Yorkshire, at which place their parents reside. It is supposed they have been convicted elsewhere. Description of a man and woman committed on the 30th ultimo, for one calendar month each, under the Vagrant Act: The man gives the name of THOMAS JOHNSON, a professional singer, no settled residence, but states that he belongs to London, 29 years of age, 6 feet 1 inch high, fresh complexion, hazel eyes, dark hair, ginger whiskers pointing to the mouth ; dressed in blue pilot cloth coat, double- breasted, velvet collar and wristbands bound with velvet, shabby, black cloth vest, fly front, black cloth trousers, elastic- side boots, aud high silk hat. The woman gives the name of JANE TURNER, states she is wife to the above, 28 years of age, 5 feet inch high, grey eyes, brown hair, and pale complexion ; dressed in shepherd's plaid shawl, black stuff jacket, grey alpaca skirt, bound at the bottom with 8 inches of black material, black crape bonnet, and light woollen muffler. They had in their possession a pawnticket, 12th March, 1870, Coat 9d., in the name of J. Turner, at Joseph Butcher's, Uxbridge. W.' on left arm, aud light hand shrunk from cut on wnst; he was sentenced to seven years' penal servitude at Lewes Sessions for burglary ; his sentence will expire on the 19th of July, 1871.
