DUBLIN, FRIDAY, APRIL 29, 1870. ENGLISH POLICE. CITY OF MANCHESTER. £ 300 REWARD. WHEREAS Thomas Q. Kelly and Timothy Deasey, reputed to be Fenians, having been forcibly rescued from - custody while being conveyed to the Man- chester City Goal, at 4 p. m., this day, are now at . large: Tho above reward will be paid by Her Majesty's Government to any person or persons who shall givo such information as will lead to the capture of the above- named Thomas Q. Kelly and Timothy Deasey. Secrecy will be observed as to tbe Name of the Informant. Description :— ' Thomas Q. Kelly otherwise Martin Williams, a native, of Ireland, 35 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, hazel eyes, brown hair, brown whiskers, weighs 160 pounds, small scar inside right arm, " fecar over right temple, largo scar over middle of belly from an ulceratod wound, one tooth out on right side next to double ones on top side ; says he is a bookbinder by Timothy Deasy, otherwise John White, a native of Ireland, 29 yoars of ago, ft feet 10 inches high, swarthy complexion, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, brown moustache, whiskers shaved off, proportionate mako, scar on left cheek near to tho ear, speaks with a strong American accent; says i^ ws a hatter by Information to bo given to Captain Palin, Chief Constable, Town Hall, King- street, Manchester. ROBERT NEILT., Mayor. Dated this 18th day of September, 1867. SCOTTISH POLICE. REWARD OF £ 100— MURDER. WANTED, for having, between the hours of 8 and 0 o'clock, on tho night of Sunday, the 17th of April current, on a stair in Stockwell- street, Glasgow, criminally assaulted a girl aged 5 years, whereby she died the night following : A man about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, ordinary stout make, red or fair beard on tind under chin, generally termed a billy- goat, fair moustache ; dressed in dark cloth shooting- coat, dark vest and trowsers which are torn about the knees, tho lining or drawers appearing through them, wore a dark' cravat and black jerry hat, altogether had a shabby appenrance. Tho above reward will bo paid by the Magistrates of the city, to nny person ox persons who, within six mourns of tliin dato, will furnish the subscriber with nuoh information as shall lead to the apprehension, and conviction of the person who committed the crime, and whoso description is given above. DESCRIPTION of Nicholas Brown, sub- constable No. 28953 native of Mounthamilton, county Antrim, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd April, 1870, in the barony of Lower Fews, parish of Mullahgbrack, escaped from William Hardy, esq., Sub- Sheriff, who liad him in custody, lie being arrested under a Judge's fiat for the seduction of Mary Todd, Markethill:— smart active appearance, speaks with an Antrim accent, Scotch dialect, wears all his beard, which is small and tliin ; dark brown eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, small face, slender make, 6 feet £ inch high, about 29 years of age, dark brown hair, wore a high- crown hat with broarl band and peacock feather, black melton coat, emigrate in , melt n vest. DESCRIPTION of John M'Hugh ( Terry), native of Brinlack, county Donegal, who stands changed with having, on the 21st March, 1870, in the barony of Boylagh, parish of Templecrone, assaulted Noher Coll, by striking him with a stone on the head, from the effects of which blow he died on the 2nd of April, 1870 :— serious injury to left eye and cheek, which he got in the conflict with Coll, shaves all his face ; gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a Scotch cap, gray frieze coat, trowsers, and vest. DESCRIPTION of John Blake, jun., native of Clydagh, who stands charged with having, on the 1st March, 1870, at Clydagh, in the barony of Bere, parish of Kilcaskin, dangerously assaulted_ John Neill, of Droumlave, of said parish and barony -.— dark brown eyes, straight nose, fair complexion, good looking face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a blue cloth cap or soft black hat, no coat, tweed trowsers and vest, dark brown beard on chin, small moustache ; sometimes shaves a little of the jaw in front of whiskers; walks with head down. DESCRIPTION of Robert Johnston ( name supposed to be assumed), native of Down, who stands charged with having, on the 15th day of March, 1870, in the barony- of Upper Iveagh, parish of Drumballyrony, stolen a cow, value for £ 10, the property of James Irwin :— small hands and feet; very black eyes, regular nose, very sallow complexion, smooth face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 24 years of age; black hair; wore a low black hat, black office coat, dark tweed trowsers, with black stripe, black clotli vest; gentlemanly address, very smart, active appear- ance. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Lennon, native of Dechomed, who stands charged wiih having, on the 16th January, 1870, at Gransha, in the barony of Upper Iveagh, parish of Drumara, in said county, feloniously assaulted Eliza Kerr, a servant:— drooped shoulders, smart active appearance, a small mole on one cheek; gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 19 years of age, lair hair; wore a round black felt hat, brown tweed frock coat, cord trowsers, and brown vest. STOLEN from a uniform tin case, on its passage from India ( supposed at Portsmouth), a gold geneva hunting watch, white dial, No. 36420, no maker's name thereon, also, a heavy gold ring, hoop pattern, and a gold scarf pin, the property of tlie late R. F. Maunsell, Staff Assistant- Surgeon. Any information respecting those stolen articles will be thankfully received by J. Maunsell, Dublin Castle. April 21, 1870. f •: if.' DESCRIPTION of James Rielly, native of Largana- carron, who stands charged on suspicion with having, on the night of the 10th instant, at Drumshroohie, in the barony of Clanawley, parish of Killesher, stabbed Robert Reynolds:— gray eyes, long thin nose, lhir complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 28 years of age, dark hair; wore a tall hat, grayish outside coat, cream- coloured trowsers, ordinary vest; smart active appearance; speaks with a strong American accent. This man lias been in America 15 years, and returned on the 2nd instant. He has no luggage, only a large glazed black travelling bag. He stated that he intends to return to America shortly. There is a Warrant in the bands of the Constabulary at Kinawley for his arrest. Arney, March 10, 1870. ( c. 12453— 10380.) DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 18th day of March, 1870, in the barony of Iraghti- connor, parish of Murher, appeared armed with a revolver, and made inquiries respecting Jeremiah Nolan, land bailiff to Wm. Vesy Foster Fitzgerald, and presented said revolver at Nolan's son when attempt- ing to arrest him — shoulders broad and a little drooped, flushed in face, as if from dissipation ; good- looking, very fair eyebrows ; fresh complexion, flushed face, proportionate make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 28 years of age; mixture of fair and brown bair ; wore a low round hard hat, blue pilot sack coat, gray tweed trowsers with dark stripes. DwcntpVioN of 8 heifers, the property of Edmond Lonnergan, of Kiltrassey, which were stolen off the lands of Kiltrassey, parish ol Killamory, barony of Kelb, on the night of the 18th instant:— 2 heifers, 2 years old, red colour, a little white under belly ; top of horn of one of those broken off. 1 heifer, 2 years old, speckled red and white, small cocked horns. Those 3 heifers in low condition, bred; valuo for about £ 7 10s. each. 3 heifers, 1 year old, all white. 1 heifer, 1 year old, speckled red and white; the red spots the largest. 1 heifer, strawberry. The 5 yearlings low in con- dition, value for £ 1 each. The owner will give £ 5 reward for the recovery of the cattle and prosecution of tho thief. Pilltown, April 21, 1870. ( o. 12196— 16367.) DESCRIPTION, of Marcus O'Donnell, native . of Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 5th of April, 1870, in the barony of North West Liberties, parish of Templemore, several pieces of cloth in bis possession, knowing same to ha^ e been stolen from the establisMent of the Messrs. M'Vickers, merchant clothiers, of this city :— lame of right leg, and a bit off top of ' nose ; hejvas in the army, is a pedler, and frequents the counties ot Tyrone and Donegal; swarthy complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark liair, turning gray; wore a long black coat, A Warrant has been issued for his arrest. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Convery and Thomas convery, natives of Tullybrick, wbo stand charged with having, on the 25th December, 1869, in the barony of loughinshollin, parish of Ballynascreen, fired at and wounded Robert George Wylie, an assistant- gamekeeper in tbe employment of the Rev. A. Miller, of Muff county Tyrone :— 1. Patrick Convery, gray eyes, ordinary nose, sandy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 30 years of age, red hair; wore a brown cloth coat, light trowsers and vest. This man carried tlie gun and fired at Wylie. " 2. Thomas Convery, gray eyes, ordinary nose, sandy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 28 years of age, red bair; wore a brown coat, light trowsers and vest. The men are very like one another, being cousins ; they had with tliem a pointer dog, black and white, black tail, one ear with black spots. Maghera, January 4, 1870. ( c. 6999— 11456.) DESCRIPTION of Patrick Goldrick, native of Forth- william, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 15th April, 1870, in the barony of Rath- cline, parish of Cashel, stolen 1 sheep, the property of John Casserly :— stooped shoulders, slovenly gait; gray eyes, cocked nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 33 years of age, fair hair ; wore a low jerry hat, frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark vest. DESCRIPTION of Bryan Casey, native of Ballinamore, county Longford, who stands charged with having, on the 28th day of. October, 1869, in the barony of Moydow, parish of Ballymacormack, aided and assisted liis wife, Bridget Casey, now in Longford Gaol, in the murder of hor illegitimate child, found concealed in his garden :— low forehead and down- looking ; gray eyes, small nose, pale complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet- 6 inches high, about 36 years of age; fair liair; wore a gray frieze coat, cord trowsers; Was accompanied by two children ( boys)— one 6, and the other 3 years of age. Andrew Holmes, ( robbery), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 5th February, 1869. • 1 Mayo. DESCRIPTION of a stranger, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 27th March, 1870, in the barony of Kilmain, parish of Kilcommon, ordered Mr. Murtagh Farraher not to pay more rent than the Government valuation on pain of being shot, and demanded money for this mission, on which he stated three men were engaged in every county in Ireland :— blue or gray eyes, thin long nose, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, wore tweed trowsers and Wellington boots ; wore also a large false beard, black mixed with gray; good looking, respectably dressed. DESCRIPTION of Francis Casey, native of Lisavarha, who stands charged with having, on the 28th March, 1870, in the baron? of Ardagh, parish of Mostrim, been one of an armed party of three men who un- lawfully attacked tie house of Joseph Jackson, at Cullagh, presented t pistol at Mrs. Jackson, fired a shot in through the kitchen window, and asked if he ( Jackson) was going to dispossess the widow Donohoe: — slightly pockpitted or freckled; blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about- 25 years of age, very light coloured hair; wore a small round hat, light frieze much worn coat, cord trowsers, tweed vest. r Longford, April, 1370. IS DESCRIPTION of two persons, names unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 12th instant, in the barony of Granard, parish of Granard, been two of an armed pariy who attacked the house of William Webster, threatened him to leave his employment, and fired two shots, one of which entered his house:— 1. Gray eyes, fresh complexion, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, 30 years of age, fair hair, sandy whiskers meeting under the chin; wore a jerry bat, reddish frieze coat, patched corduroy trowsers, dark vest. This man took the most prominent part. 2. Long sharp nose, dark complexion, slight make ; 5 feet 7 inches hight# 23 years of age, dark hair, no beard or whiskers; wore a jerry hat, dark cloth coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vest; boyish looking. Granard, March 14, 1870. ( o. 12307— 12251.) DESCRIPTION of two persons, names unknown, supposed to be natives of Westmeath, who stand charged with having, on the 10th instant, in the barony of Ardagh, parish of Ardagh, unlaw- fully appeared under arms on the townland of Cornpark, and directed a farmer named Michael Eagan to give up a certain portion of land in his possession, before eight days, or if not that they would visit him again:— 1. Unknown— blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 11 inches high, 30 years of age, sandy hair; wore a low jerry hat, gray frieze coat, cord trowsers, dark tweed vest. 2. Unknown— blue eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, thin face, Blight make, 5 feet 8 inches liigli, 21 years of age, black liair; wore a low jerry hat, gray tweed coat, cord trowsers, dark tweed vest. Longford, March 15, 1870. ( o. 12305— 12344.) DESCRIPTION of Edward Brehemy, native of Shan- waher, and Andrew Carney, native of Mealtron, who stand charged with having, on the night of 14th January, 1870, in the barony of Costello, parish of Augbamore, been one of an armed party, who entered the dwelling- house of Mrs. Margret M. Beytagh, at Mannion, fired several shots, administered an illegal oath to her, and feloniously carried away three guns, the property of her son, R. J. Beytagh, esq.:— 1. Edward Brehemy— blue eyes, large nose, pale complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches cloth cap, black irieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black cloth vest. 2. Andrew Carney— mark of a cut over one of the eyes; does not know which; brown eyes, long nose, pale complexion, thin face, slender make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 27 years of age, black hair; wore a black cloth cap, which he wears on the right side of his head, black frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, black cloth vest. DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd of April, 1870, at Rockfield, in the barony of Upper Kells, parish of Kells, presented a revolver at, and threatened to shoot Patrick Lynch, if he continued to act as herd for Mr. Joseph Lowry:— shows white of eyes very much ; large full eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 9 A inclie^ high, about { 12 years of age, dark brown hair, large bushy, whiskers which may be artificial; " wore a low soft nat, blue pilot coat, brown cloth trowsers, tweed vest, respectable looking.
