INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING. Further information respecting the dead body of a youth unknown, found in a reservoir at Blackburn, on the 25th uit., and advertised in the Police Gazette of the Qrd instant : the My has baeu identified as that of John Shakeshaft, 17 years of age, son of John Shakeshaft, beerseller, Rosehill, Higher Audley- street, Blackburn. The deceased left home on the •/ 4th of October last, was seen in the township of Mellor, Lancashire, next day, and WHS also seen in Blackburn about two weeks afterwards, hut not heard of since until the body was found. It is suspected that he came to his death by violence. Infor- mation to be given to Chief Constable Potts, Town Hall, Blackburn, Lancashire.— Bow- street, May 12. FORGERY. On the 7th instant, at Eton, Bucks, REGINALD TEMPLE STRANGE CLARE GRANVILLE MURRAY forged a Cheque on the Bank of York, purporting to be the cheque of Sir Edward Sherlock Gooch, Baronet, with intent to defraud one Robert Tolladay, boat builder, Eton, Bucks Murray is about 27 28 years of age, 6 feet 8 inches high, full face, fresh colour, dark curly hair, small whiskers and rather red moustache, of gentlemanly appearance and address ; dress, dark blue and light overcoat. Gave his card as ' Sir Edward Sherlock Gooch, Bart., Benacre Hall, Wrentham.' Information to be giveu to Superintendent Dunham, Slough, Bucks, or to Inspector Pearman, Eton College, Bucks who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, May 14. Absconded, charged on a warrant with forgery, GEORGE RICHARD SMITH, late of No. 41, Whiskin- street, St. John- street- road, clerk, about 20 years of age, 6 feet 7 inches high, dark hair and eyes, Blight build, small dark moustache, light straggling whiskers, sallow complexion, and mole on the cheek. Stolen on the 16th inBtant, from the person of William Helsby, while in a public- house at Sandbach : a silver patent lever hunting Watch, jewelled in four holes, gold balance spring above, makers Thomas Allcock, Sandbach, No. 60341. Information to be given to Superintendent Rou bottom. Con- stabulary Station, Middlewich, Cheshire.— Bow- street, May 19. Stolen from the person of a gentleman at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Station, Bolton, about 910 p. m. on the 9th instant, a gold lever Watch, No 4140. Supposed by a man, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, stout make, no whiskers or moustache; dressed in black cloth shooting coat, black cloth trousers and vest, and black silk hat. £ 2 reward will be paid to any person who will give such information as shall lead to the apprehension of the offender or offender", on application to Chief Constable Beech, Borough Police Office, Bolton- le Moors, Lancashire.— Bow- st., May 17. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. Description of three men who entered the house of Mr. Thomas Webb, at Bengeo, at 1- 30 on the 17th instant, by means of skeleton keys: one a tall thin man, dressed in dark clothes, and high black hat, the other two were about 6 feet 7 or 8 inches high, also dressed in dark clothes and high hats ; one of them having short, curly black hair, very nicely kept, and thick neck. The following property was stolen : 1 lady's gold Chain, cftble make. 1 gold Brooch, with three amethyst stones. I gentleman's Australian gold Ring, with nugget on top. 1 lady's gold Ring, with five corals. 1 ditto, set in garnets and pearls. 1 pair of gold Ear- rings, with gold drops. 1 large silver Gravy Spoon. 2 silver Table Spoons. 10 silver Tea Spoons, marked ' J. E.' and another letter. 1 silver Punch Ladle. 1 pair silver Sugar Tongs. 1 pair plated Table Spoons, with embossed bandies. 6 Dessert ditto. 6 Tea ditto. 1 plated Cruet Stand. 4 Glasst- s, with silver tops. 1 pair of plated Salts on four legs. 1 plated Sugar Basket. 1 Silt Spoon. 1 Mustard Spoon. 1 silver Butter Knife, pearl handle. 1 pair of silver Nutcrackers. 1 Scent Buttle, with silver top. 1 grey Overcoat, with velvet collar. 1 dark green silk Umbrella, Vix's patent, with coloured cane handle, 1 lady's long black silk Jacket. 1 red and brown Carpet Bag, with blue striped lining, stained with wine. Two other houses were entered on the same day, and the following property stolen : 1 man's black cloth Coat, with pockets on each side and one left breast. 1 gold Ring^ with four stones. 12s. in Farthings, Threepenny and Fourpenny Pieces. 1 old- fashioned silver Watch, crack on face near the figure ' 6.' £ 5 in liojd. 12s. in Silver. 3 netted Purses, with steel rings. The whole of the Property can be identified. Information to be given to Inspector Hunt, Hertford.— Bow- ttreet, May 21. During the night of the 17th infant, the Queen's Head Inn, in Bungay, was broken into, end Btolen therein : about £ 12. including a £ 5 Note, Harvey and Hudson's Bank, No. 91930; twelve silver tea Spoons, marked • R. J. C.;' two silver dessert Spoons, one marked ' W. C.' the other ' R. C.;' four electro tatde Spoons, marked ' Chase ;' five silver^ salt Spoons, marked ' R J. C.;' two ham Forks, pearl handles ; a gold lever Geneva Watch, a gold albert Chain, and gold Key attached, one end of key shape of hatchet. Whoever will give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders shall receive £ 10 reward, lntoimation to be given to Inspector May, Police Station, Bungay.— Bow- stteet, May 21. Between 7 30 p. m. 15th and 10 a. m. on the 17th instant, the dwelling- house of Miss Maning, Ash Magna, parish of Whitchurch, Salop, was broken into during the absence of the family, and the following property stolen therein : a black cloth ribbed Overcoat, black velvet collar, pockets outside in skirts; a dark tweed Overcoat, double- breasted, covered buttons, pockets behind ; a brown cloth Cape, brown velvet collar, covered buttons ; and two new white calico Shirts, linen fronts and wristbands. Information to ba given to Superinten- dent Haines, Whitchurch, Salop.— Bow- street, May 19. Between 2 and 5 a. m. on the 18th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Josiah Brett, of the Swan Inn, High- street, Holywell, was entered by means of taking a pane of glass out of one of the back windows, and the following property stolen out of Mr. Brett's bedroom whilst he was in bed : a Cashbox, containing a £ 50 Bank of England Note, No. 14050, £ 7 in Silver, and £ 3 in Gold ; a drab Jacket, with two pockets outside and one inside, drab bone buttons; a light- coloured striped Vest ; a pair of light tweed Trousers, stripes down the sides; a silver Geneva Watch ; and a gold Albert Chain. A pair of old stockings, an old dark jacket, and an old moleskin vest were left behind. Information to be given at the Super- intendent's Office, Holywell, Flintshire.— Borr- streel, May 19. On the night of the 12th instant the Vicarage House at Hartpuny, the residence of the Rev. W. G. S. Addison was attempted to be broken into by raising the drawing- room win- dow, by two men, who, were disturbed by the police, and made their escape ; they are of the following description : about 45 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, middle size, rather thin features, small light whiskers ; dressed in a high crowned hat, old brown frock coat, and dark trousers ; the other is about 6 feet 4 inches high, 26 years of age, s'out built, full features, small light sandy whiskers, and tuft on chin ; dressed in a soft low hat, dark monkey jacket, dark trousers, and wore across his waistcoat a gilt or gold albert chain, with a locket attached in the shape of a book ; he carried an overcoat on his arm, lmed. with plaid, and had a small parcel with him, fastened round with a leather strap. They lett near the pre- mises a new patent bit, and they are supposed to be the same men who have committed burglaries at Stoke, Ediih, North- ampton, Winslow, and Abingdon. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Griffin, Gloucester. — Bow- street, May 17. On tho 15th instant, the dwelling- house of Mrs. Kemp, Shipbourne, Kent, was broken into, and the following articles stolen therein : two blue ShirtB ; a calico Sheet ; a cotton Shift; a pair of man's lace up Boots ; a black handled Razor ; a pocket Knife; and a clothes Brush. Information to be given to Superintendent Dance, Police Court, Tonbridge, Kent. — Bow- street, May 17. Stolen on the night of the 14th instant, from the shop window of Mr. Wm. Enock, jeweller, Smith- street, Warwick, the following Watches, & c. : 1 silver consular Lever, maker Enock, Smith- street, No. 6925. 1 ditto ditto, large size, flush seconds, same maker, No. 1368. 1 silver consular Geneva, large size, maker Baume, No. 61944. 1 large second- hand Geneva, silver dial discoloured, shield and garter on back of case. 2 small Geneva's. oz. of gold Wedding Rings, A number^ of gold Keepers, one extra large Bize, 18 carat gold. 1 gold cameo Pin, a crack above the he: . ( female's). 1 gold Pin, with a bar across tarnished. A reward will be paid on the recovery of the property and conviction of the offender or offenders. Information to be giveu to Head Constable Hickling, Warwick.— Bow- slreet, May 17. During the night of the 14th instant the dwellinf - house of the Rev. William Barrett, of Sainthury, was broken into and the following property stolen therein : two silver Tea Spoons and a pair of silver Sugar Tongs, marked ' A. D. W.' ; two silver Thimbles a silver Geneva Watch, a pocket Spirit Flask covered with brown leather ; Cigar Case, Meerschaum Pipe and Cigar Holder, Musical Box in walnut wood ease, about 12 inches by 6 inches; two Snuff Boxes, one a round black papier mache, the picture of an old gentleman with long beard painted on the lid, the other walnut wood oblong shape with gold crest demi unicorn rampant on the lid ; and a black felt billycock Hat. Supposed by two men who were seen about the village the same evening ; one about 40 years of age, 6 feet 8 or 9 inches high, light complexion, walks awkward on his feet; dressed in dark clothes ; the other about 30 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high ; dressed in dark clothes, and wore a gold or gilt albert chain, and carried a small box or parcel under his arm. They are supposed to be the s< me men advertised in the Police Gazette of the 19th ult. and the 10th instant, under the heading of burglary in the counties of Bucks, Northampton, and Berks. Information to be given to Superintendent Monk, Campden, Gloucestershire. — Bow- slreet, May 17. HORSE AND CATTLE STEALING. Supposed to have been stolen by gipsies from a field at East Horsley, on the night of the 13ih instant, a dark brown Donkey, 3 years old, no shoes on, ' E. T.' branded on fore feet, and in good condition, the property of Edward Turrell Infor- mation to lie given to Superintendent Barker, Surrey Con- stabulary, Guildford.— flow- street, May 21. Stolen from Sutton Grandsome, on the night of the 17th instant, the property of Mrs. Pool: a dark brown Horse, about 18 years old, 16 hands high, a little lame with the near hind foot, a little white on the near hind foot and forehead, and is a roarer. Information to be given to Superintendent Tanner, Ledbury, Herefordshire.— Bow- street, May 21. Supposed stolen from the road side in the parish of Broadclyst, Devon, on the 16th instant, the property of Mr. Clampit, a dark bay mare Pony, 13$ hands high, 6 years old, scar on light eye, rubbed on the off Bhoulder with collar, new shoe on off fore foot, and in good condition. Information to be given to Sergeant Phillip, Broadclyst, Devon.— Boio- street, May 21. Found at Shenstone, on the 18th instant, and supposed to have been stolen, a black horse Pony, about 13 hands high, a white spot on forehead, Bhort mane, switch tail, and in good condition. Also a young Ass, light coloured, and very long rough hair. Information to be given to Superintendent Orwell, Burton- on- Trent, or to Sergeant Bason, Shenstone, Staffordshire.— Bow- ttreet, May 21. Stolen early on the morning of the 14th instant, from a meadow at Ightham, Kent, the property of Edward Gibbons, a light bay Mare, 7 years old, 16 hands high, star on forehead, has a scar on inside of near foreleg ; and a light grey Gelding, 10 years old, about 16 hands high, two or three small warts under belly, and one under the dock ; they are both light cart horses, in good condition, and valuable. They were seen about 3 o'clock on the morning in question, in the Pilgrim's road, Wrotham, going in the direction of London, each ridden by a n ,[ i; one about 30 years of age, about 6 feet 7 inches high, st out build, full face ; dressed in dark clothes light- coloured neckerchief, and low- crowned hat: the other about 27 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches high ; dressed in dark clothes and low- crowned hat. A third man was walking behind the horses: about 37 years of age, dark whiskers and moustache, slight build ; dressed in dark clothes and billycock hat turned up at sides, They were at the George and Dragon public- house, Wrotham, the night previous, and left together about 9.30 p. m.. and all had the appearance of low horse dealers Two Guineas reward will be paid to any person giving such information as will lead to the conviction of the offenders and recovery of the horses. Information to be given to Superinten- dent Hulse, Kent Constabulary, West Malling.— bou- itreet, May 19. « Supposed stolen on the night of the 14th instant, from the street opposite the George Hotel, Brighouse, a light grey Mare, about 15J hands high, aged, hair-¥ UilS* j} off top part of tail with the crupper, and in good condition";- Mid a light grey Horse, about 15$ hands high, about 6 years old," df- P^ jltJSS8' and in good condition, the property of John Whitley, horse dealer. Stolen on the 2ud instant, from the Freeholds, Shepherd's Bush. a dark giey mare Pony 3 years old, about 13 hands high, white stripe down face, a small mark on near hind leg by the fetlock.- Metropolitan Pvlicc, T Division, May 17. Stolen from Langleybury on the night of the 26th ultimo, a small brown rough Pony, the property of Lloyd Jones, Esq. Found at Colemere, Salop, on the 13th instant, and sup- Eosed to have been stolen, a hay cob Mare, about 12 hands igh, white star on forehead, shod all round, in good condition, and lame in knee of near fore leg. Information to be given to Serjeant Thomas, Police Station, Ellesmere, Salop.— Bow- st., May 17. Found in the parish of North Stoneham, on Chandlers Ford Green, on the 30ih ultimo, and supposed to have been stolen: a bay horse Pony, long mane and tail, about 13 hands high, ab » u' 3 years old. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Siannard, Hants Constabulary Station, Bitterne, or to Sergeant Fox, Bishop Stoke, Hants.— Bow- street, May 17. Found at Llanssiniffraid, Montgomeryshire, on the 26th ultimo, and supposed to have been stolen, a bay hackney Ma. e, aged, about 14 hands high, black mane and tail, black legs, shod all round, and in low condition. Information to be given to Police Constable Williams, Llansantffraid, Mont- gomeryshire.— Bow- street, May 17. Stolen during the night of the 12th instant, from a field Bt Bromsgrove, a bay cob Horse, about 6 years old, 14 hands 3 inches high, with black points white speck in near eye, has several scars on hips and rump, recently blistered on near hock, and tnil cut short, luioruiation to he given to Superintendent Bevan, Bromsgrove.— Bow- street, May 17. Stolen on the night of the 14th inctant, from Nat's Farm, parish of Kingsdown, Kent, the property of Thomas Wigley, a black cart Mure, 16 hinds high, 9 or 10 years old, white star on forehead, both hind fetlocks white, broken winded, is in good condition, and has lost the sight of the left eye. Also, siolen from the stable a silver plated light curt Har- ness, rather old, supposed by a mau 23 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, fresh complexion, and no whiskers ; dressed in a dark coat and trousers, fitting tight to the leg, and low- crowned black hat. LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT Stolen fr< m a dwelling house at Cheadle, on the 16th instant: a gold Geneva Watch, maker Mouline, No. 1761 ] 768, Scratched inside the case ' 29/ 63' had attached a loug gold Chain: hy EDWIN WATKIN WALKER, 20 years of age, 6 feet 9 inches high, small hrown eyes, has been a soldier, is ninrked wiih the letter - D,' and is a native of Nottingham ; dres- ed in a shabby brown cloih coat, grey mixture trousers with black stiipe down the Bides, black billycock hat, and elastic- side boots. He is supposed to have goue to Liverpool. Information to be given to Superintendent Cawton, County Police Station, Stockport, Cheshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension — Bow- street, May 21. Absconded on the 17th instant, from No. 308, Oxford street, stealing £ 16 in Gold : a porter, 19 years of age, 6 leet high, humpbacked, dark complexion and hair ; dressed in dark m « - lion coat and vest, dark brown striped tiousers. and deer- stalker hat.— Metropolitan Police, C Division, May 21. Absconded since January last from Berners- street, Oxford- street, stealing a black velvet Jacket, silver buttons ; a Kilt ( hunting sallets); a ditto, grey Scotch tweed ; a ditto, shepherd's plaid ; a ditto, tweed mixture; a shepherd's plaid Jacket; a hunting Plaid ; and a silver- mounted Dirk, with amber stone : a man, 46 years of age 6 feet 7 inches high, fair complexion, long grey hair ; dressed in black melton coat, pepper- and- salt trousers and vest, aud billycock hat ; and a woman, 40 years of age, 6 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion and hair, long features ; dressed in black dress and bonnet. — Metropolitan Police, E Division, May 21, Absconded'on the 17th instant, from No. 66, Three Colt- street, LimehouSe, stealing £ 36 : a grocer's assistant, 19 years of age, 6 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, hair, and mous- tache, sandy whiskers, round- shouldered, large scar on top of forehead ; dressed in blue pilot overcoat, drab mixture under- coat and vest, side spring hoots, and high blank hat.— Metropo- litan Police, K Division, May 21. Charged with stealing a double barrel Gun, Powder Flask, and Shot Belt, the property of Mr. Henry Paddy, HERBERT EATON, a labourer, about 24 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, dark hair and eyes, round shoulders, and walks with left shoulder higher than the other ; dressed in velvet jacket, corduroy trousers that have hern washed, and black billycock hat ; he is a native of Edgcomh, Saop ; is most likely to be found in the company of poachers or prostitutes. Description of a man charged with stealing a number of mason's Chisels and Points ( part of which have been recovered), from a quarry at Clutton, on the night of the 11th instant : about 46 years of age, 6 feet 9 or 10 inches high, grey hair and whiskers ( large), and suptosed to have a moustache; dressed in dark bowler hat, short dirty round jacket,, much patched, and trousers repaired with new pieces of tustiau ; has the appearance of a mason. He is accompanied hy a short dark woman, dressed in straw bonnet aud a dirty light dress. In- formation to be given to Superintendent Emson. Somerset Constabulary, Temple Cloud, Bristol.— Bow- street, May 19. Stolen on the 15th instant from the Merionethshire Arms public house, Aberystwith, the property of Owen Jones, the landlord, a brown melton cloth double- breasted Coat or monkey Jacket, with side pockets, a large hole in right one, and oiie inside breast, bound with black braid, and lined with red and white woollen check, small pattern. By HENRY MORGAN, a militiaman, native of Monmouthshire, about, 30 years f age, 5 feet 6£ inches high, thick set, fresh complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, and supposed to be wearing the stolen coat; he is a stonemason, and gave his address Square, King's Head, Merthyr Tydfil. Information to be given to Superintendent Lloyd, Aberystwith, Cardiganshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension .- bow- street. May 19.
