Notice.— It is requested that all communications for the pur- pose of obtaining or giving information respecting supposed offenders, or stolen property, may bear the Signature of the person requiring or sending the same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to Mr. W. D. BURNABY, the Editor, Police Court, Bow- street, London, W. C. Whenever it iB desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the offenoe charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As HO charge is made for the insertion of any article in the POLICE GAZETTE, all Letters addressed to the Editor mlllt be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. It is requested that the Names and Descriptions of Deserters and Absentees from the Militia, as well as those from tbe regular Army, intended for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, may be addressed to " The Under Secretary of State for War, War Office, Pall Mall, London, S. Stolen from the person of a gentleman about 1 a. m. on the 3rd instant, between Warwck and Leamington, a gold consular lever Watch, No. 12883. maker Alex. Simmonds, Warwick. Information to be given to Inspector Lapworth, Milverton, Warwickshire.— Bow street, March 10. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING Further information respecting the murder at Boxley, advertised in the " Police Gazette of the 10th instant: at the coroner's inquest a verdict of ' Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown,' was returned. The murder is supposed to have been committed with a pistol loaded with small shot and having brown paper wadding. Two men were seen on premises close by about ten minutes before the murder, supposed for the purpose of rabbit aud poultry stealing : one a short, stout man, dressed in black billycock hat and white slop ; the other a rather tall man, dressed in black clothes. Information to be given to Superintendent Ovenden, Kent County Constabulary, Maidstone.— Bow- street, March 12. On the 20th ultimo, the body of Maria Fitzsimmons was found in a room in Baines'- lane, Sunderland, with several stab wounds in the breast, and a coroner's jury have returned a verdict of ' Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown.' A reward of £ 100 will be paid by Her Majesty's Government to any person who shall give such information and evidence as shall lead to the discovery aud conviction of the murderer or murderers, and the Secretary of State will advise the grant of Her Majesty's gracious pardon to any accomplice, not being the actual murderer, who shall give such evidence as shall lead to the like result. A man of the following description is suspected of having committed the murder: 30 to 36 years of age, 6 feet 6 or 6 inches high, f< ir complexion, light blue eyes, rather long thin face, rather flat nose a little turned up, wide nostrils, ears pierced, but wore no ear- rings, very light sandy coloured hair, short tuft on chin same colour, spoke iu the Yankee Irish, and at times in the Norfolk dialect, and occasionally lisps ; dressed ill a light blue guernsey, with a h ile in one shoulder, faded brown pilot reefer, and boots much worn. A man who gave the name of THOMAS WALL, a native of Yarmouth, Norfolk, answering the above description, arrived in Sunderland, on board a ship from Ostend, on the lGth ultimo, and afterwards took board and lodgings, which he left without giving any notice ; he left his clothing on board the ship, and has not been heard of since the murder. Information to be given to Chief Constable Stainsby, Central Police Station, Sunderland.— Bow- street March 12. Found on the 20th ult. in the Warwick and Napton Canal, at Warwick, the body of a female child, about six weeks old, and supposed to have been in the water about a fortnight. It was a fine child, dressed in the ordinary way and clean, tied up in a child's flannel shawl like a bundle. The medical evidence proved that it died from drowning'. An adjourned coroner's inquest was held on the 4th instant, and tbe jury returned a verdict of Wilful Murder against some person or persons un- known. Information to be given to Head Constable Hickling, Warwick.— Boic- sireet, March 6. The body of an infant male child was found in ' the river TJsk on the 13tlAltimo, between Glass Llyn and Llangrwy nery Bridge, in the parish of Llanelly, Breconshire; it is believed n' t to have been dead more than two or three days ; the skull was fractured before death immediately after birth. A verdict of Wilful Murder against some person or persons unknown has been remaned at the coroner's inquest. Between 2 and 4 p. m. on the 10th iDstant the dwelling- house of Thomas Walters, at Folker Moor, in the parish of Leek, was broken into during the temporary absence of the family, and the following property stolen therein : a light grey cloth Overcoat, with plaid coloured lii. ing ; a blue cloth Vest ; a pair of brown mixture cloth Trousers; and a pair of light lace- up Booth, with brass eyelet holes. Information to be given to Superintendent Williams, Leek, Staffordshire.— — Bow- street, March 16. During the night of the 10th instant, an office in Wake- field was broken into, and stolen therein: 18s. or 20s. worth of threepenny and fourpenny Pieces ; 18s or 20s. worth of Six- pences ; £ 1 in Gold ; £ 6 or £ 7 in Gold and Silver ; £ 1 15s. 7d. in Gold and Silver, in a pence pocket, labelled < K. H. to pay for Gas ;' an old- fashioned silver verge Watch, with German silver Guard attached ; and ahnut 5s. worth of Postage Stamps. Information to be given to Chief Constable Chipstead, Police Station, Wakefield.— Bow- street, March 16. On the 11th instant the house of the Rev. Mr. Vincent, of Ladbroke, was broken into and stolen therein: an old- fashioned gold Watch, plain figures, words upon front ; a bunch of gold Seals, one square w ith blood stone and one with ' F. A. V. ;' a silver Cake Basket, inscription, ' Presented to R. A. Vincent by the pupils of Leamington College ;' a large silver Snuff Box, ' Presented by the Bailey Floral and Horti- cultural Society a silver Soup Ladle, a silver Tea Caddy Spoon, silver Tops of rau- tard and pepper castor, silver tea and mustard Spoons, a silver Knife and Pork in Case, a pair of silver Sugar Bows, a silver Pencil Case, and a silver Sugar Castor. Information to be given to Inspector Gaskins, Southam, Warwickshire.— Bow- tt., March 12. On the night of the 8th instant the house of Mr. Henry Eady, Romford, Essex, was broken and entered and tbe following property stolen therein : a brown cloth Overcoat, with velvet collar; a brown silk Umbrella; two boxes of Cigars, ab iut 200 in number ; a cigar Case; and several bottles from a cellar containing Wine, Gin, and Brandy; a bottle of Catsup ; and a bunch of Keys. Three men are sus- pected of having committed the above burglary ; one is from 30 to 40 years of age, 6 feet 9 inch. » high, dark complexion, dark whiskers and moustache; dress d in black cloth coat, dark cord trousers, billycock hat, he was wearing a white apron ; the secoud is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion, whiskers about half way down the cheek ; dressed in dark coat and trousers, light pink coloured shirt, white collar, and cheese cutter peak cap, also wearing an apron ; and thi third is about 36 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, light complexion ; dressed in long fustian coat and dark cap, had the appearance of a drover. SORSE AND CAT'S' uE STEALING Stolen from Buxton on the 6> h instant, a bay Mare, aged, about 14 hands high, white hind leg. and long thin tail. In- formation to be given to Sergeant Oldham, Buxton, or to Superintendent Hudson, Chapel- en- le- Frith, Derbyshire.— Bow- street, March 15. Stolen since the 4th instant, from the neighbourhood of Birmingham, a grey cart Mare, about 16 hands high, near hind hock enlarged, and switch tail; a black hack Pony, 14 hands high, pinch on crest, little grey hair on neck, and bang tail. Information to he given to Chief Con stable Norris, Coventry.— Bow- street. March 16. Found in the possession of JOHN ARCHER, at Wat- ford, a dark brown Pony, 14 hands high, six white spots on the back, and a white spot on the forehead, about 7 years old, in good condition, and supposed to have been stolen. Infor- mation to be given to Superintendent Isgate, Watford, Herts. — Bow- street, March 12. Stolen on the 4th instant from a field at Harkbridge, Bed- dington, a bay cart Mare. 16 hands high star on forehead, a white hind heel, long mane, and tail injured on the near hip, rough coat, and in low condition. Absconded from London, charged on a warrant with embezzlement, ALFRED CLEARSON, late of No. 17, Fins- bury- place South, late Secretary to the London Rifle Brigade, about 33 years of age, 6 feet 8 inches high, brown hair, fair complexion, slight moustache, moderate whiskers, wears an eye- glass, eyebrows contracted in consequence, slightly round shouldered, effeminate foppish appearance, and usually well dressed. Description of ABRAHAM GALE, of Corsham, Wilts, blacksmith, charged wiih stealing £ 15 10s. on the 4th instant : 27 years of age. 6 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair and whiskers, and has a cast in one or both eyes ; dressed in black monkey jacket and waistcoat, light cloth trousers, and light lace- up boots ; at 8' 6 a. m. on the 5th inst. Gale took a secouti class railway ticket at Corsham for Paddington ; he has recently been employed in Oxford as shoeingsmith. GUTTERIDGE, late brewer's clerk, who is charged on a warrant with embezzlement, and who absconded on the 28th ultimo from Birmingham : he is about 22 years oi age, 5 feet 4 inches high, light complexion, right foot deformed, walks with a stick, and is a native of Lincoln ; dressed respectable iu dark clo hes ; was accompanied by a young woman. Absconded from Woore, Salop, on the 14th ultimo, JOHN MORRIS, a navvy, charged on a warrant with stealing a quantity of Coal, the property of Brassey and Field: he is about 60 years of age, 5 teei 7 or 8 mches high, thin face, light hair, stoops a little turns the left f mt out very much, has been employed on railways several years as horse keeper or driver, is known as OLD JACK. and supposed to he a native of Berks. He has a wie about 30 - tars of age, fresh com- plexion, thin face, and four children, th eldest about 10 years of age, and the youngest 18 months. Stolen from Wincham Hall, near Northwich, Cheshire, fin the 28th ultimo, two £ 10 Bank of England Notes. By THOMAS COWAP, 17 or J8 years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, walks badly aud stoops, large and ill formed feet, and has been employed as a stable boy at, Wineham Hall. Description of two men who are charged with having on the 2nd inBtant, obtained 5s. by false pretences, from the Rev. Canon Ram, at Rolleston, near Burton- on- Trent: an umbrella seller, 35 years of » ge, 5 feet 11 inches high, stout built, dark hair and whiskers, has a moustache of short growth, blotched face and forehead; dressed in dark cl, ih coat, tall Bilk hat, drab ribbed trousers, and patent leather leggings, he also wore a gold ( looking) albert chain, and carried an overcoat on his arm. He was accompanied by a man, who also carried umbrellas, of small and spare stature, grey hair arid whiskers. Information to he given t Superintendent Oswell, Burtpn- on- Trent, Staffordshire.— bow- street, Match 15. A man of the following description is charged with ob- taining 38s. by false pretences on ihe 3rd instant from Mrs. Foreter, of Stourton- court, by stating that he had a son who was an idiot, and he wished to get him into the Idiot Asylum in London, and for that purpose he required £ 31. He is about 45 years of age, broad face, with a sore on right side of nose, rather long brown whiskers } dressed in an old brown overcoat, brown trousers much worn, black silk hat, and carries with him a brown umbrella. Information to be given to Serjeant Baldwin, Staffordshire Constabulary, Kinver, or to Inspector Goddard, Tettenhall, Wolverhampton.— Bow- street, March 8. Obtained on the 3rd instant, by false pretences, a pair of girl's Boots and a quantity ot Groceries ; and from a house in Wimbledon, a Shovel, a Spade, and a shoulder of Mutton.
