Stolen from the person in the borough of Bolton, on the 5th instant, a gold skeleton lever Watch, centre seconds, No. 20173 : by WILLIAM WILKINSON, a stonemason, 29years of age, 6 feet 3 or 4 inches high, stoutish made, sandy hair curled at back, full sandy whiskers and moustache ( njay be shaved off), and addicted to drink ; dressed in dark shooting coat, light trousers, large soft black billycock hat, and clogs. He tramps about the country, frequents masons' club houses, and is in some militia regiment. £ 1 reward will be paid for his apprehension and recovery of the Watch. BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING. On the night of the 14th or morning of tbe 15th instant, the premises of Thomas Dolley, of the Swan Inn, Eynsham, Oxon, were broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein : two sides of Bacon, without hams, in salt; two Hams of same, in pickle, from a Pig about 180 lbs.; two pieces of Beef, in salt, one piece called a silver side, weighing 27 lbs., the other piece weighing about 15 lbs. Entrance wa9 effected by pushing up the sash of the window which was left unfastened. Information to be given to Superintendent Cope, Witney, Oxon.— Bow- street, January 18. During the night of the 14th instant the dwelling- house of Mr. J. Saunders, butcher, of Fulbourn, was entered by a window and the following property stolen : a boy's grey Top- coat, nearly new; two Chemises, and a pair of woman's Drawers. Also from the National School room the same night: 1 unfinished and nnbleached calico'Chemise, and about two yards of brown Holland. Supposed by a tramp. Information to be given to Inspector Greig, Bottisham, Cambridge.— Boa- street, January 18. - On the night of the 14th instant, the dwelling- house of John Staveley, Esq., at Dotterill- park, ia the parish of Kilham, was burglariously entered by some person or persons unknown, and the following property stolen therein, viz. : a lady's new gold Bracelet, inlet with blue turquoise and a small pendant; an old- fashioned gold Bracelet, with small chain and heart- shaped pendant with a small red stone in the middle ; a large old- fashioned gold Brooch, set with amethysts; two Sovereigns ; a number of old 3d. and 4d. Pieces, most of them with a hole in them, and some of them stamped ' H. or N.;' two old Crown Pieces ; and two or three new Shillings. Any person giving such information to Superintendent Young, East Riding Constabulary, Driffield, as shall lead to tbe apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, shall receive £ 10 reward, viz., £ 5 from the Kilham Association for the Prosecution of FelonB, and £ 5 from Mr. Staveley.— Bow- street, January 18. Between 1 and 7 a. m. on the 14th instant, the dwelling- house of the Rev. Jos. Brown, Houghton- le- Spring, was forcibly entered, and the following property stolen therein : a gentleman's gold lever Watch, with chased bick, makers Reid and Sons, Newcastle- on- Tyne, No. 12423 ; five silver Forks, with the letter ' K.' on the handles; a silver Fruit Knife, with mother- o'- pearl handle; a meerschaum Pipe, with a small piece of the bottom shank repaired with a piece of silver band; and a silver Medal, with impression of Virgin Mary and Latin inscription, ' Originate Concepta Regina, sine labe,' on one side on the other a bust of St. Patrick, ' Erin go bragh' across the centre, and inscription ' Catholic Association for the Suppression of Drunkenness,' around the rim. Information to be given to Superintendent Thompson, Houghton- le- Spring, Durham.— Bow- street, January 18. About 2 a. m. on the 11th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Thomas Tidmarsh, at North Littleton, Worcestershire, was broken,, into, and £ 16 in Gold, £ 1 10s. in Silver, 1 lb. of Tea, and lib. of Tobacco stolen therein. Information to be given to Superintendent Harris, Pershore, Worcestershire.— Bow- street, January 16 Stolen on the night of the 10th instant, by means of house- breaking, between 6 and 8 p. m., from William Sands, of Friskney, Lincolnshire: an eld silver double- case Watch, No. 20188, the cases are very much worn, had a piece of black goloon, and a Key attached ; a new white cotton Shirt, with plain front, three linen buttons down the front; two small metal salt Spoons; a bottle of Gin ; and a large mince Pie. About 9 p. m. on the 12th instant, a pawnbroker's sale room in the burgh of Paisley was broken and entered, and the following propery stolen therein : 15 stoned gold Rings, 16 caiat, set with from five to eight stones each. 12 stoned gold Rings, 12 carat, set with from four to six stones each. 24 fancy gold Rings, with one cairngorm stone in each. 24 fancy gold Rings, various patterns. 1 gentleman's heavy gold Ring, Australian make, no stone, initials ' J. S.' on signet. 4 plain gold Rin^ s. 6 pairs of coloured gold Ear- rings, one pair set with seven aquamarine atones. 1 pair of gold Ear- rings, acorn pattern, set with aqua- marine stones. 9 pairs of bright gold Ear- rings. 6 bright gold Lockets, three of them enamelled. 4 coloured gold Lockets, two of them set with two stones each. During the afternoon of tbe 8th instant, a dwelling- house at Thrapewood, in the pariah of Alton, Staffordshire, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein : a black stuff Drees ; a blue and white ditto ; a woollen Shawl; a brown ditto ; a grey cloth Jacket; and a small black Shawl. Information to be given at the . jMice Stations at Cheadle or Leek, Staffordshire.— Bow- street, January 16. Between 1 and 8 a. m. on tbe 16th instant, the dwelling- house of tbe Rev. Mr. Mackenzie, of Overton, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a silver Inkstand, witb inscription ' Presented by the Parishioners of St. James', Bristol,' crest— stag's head ; a silver Mustard Spoon, seme crest; a gold Pencil Case, ' L.' cut on top ; a long cayenne pepper Spoon, silver top ; several silver Tops of bottles from two cruet stands ; and a small tortoisesbell Stamp Box, inlaid with gilt, containing about 4s. worth of Stamps. On . the evening of the ICth instant, two houses were broken into in the parish of Combs, and stolen therein: a double- bottomed plain cased silver Watch, a piece broken off the face near the figure 8, with silver Guard and gold Key attached ; a gold Pencil case, Ring, Key, and Seal, an old Wedding Ring ; a small silver Fork, with ivory handle ; a small gold Brooch; six silver Table Spoons, two marked • W. B.;' a mahoganny Desk, some death Cards and Papers, some bearing the name of ' Baker ;' about 10J yards of Bed- ticking, 2 lbs. Tea, and 1$ lb. Derby Cheese. Information to be given to Inspector Freeman, Stowmarket, Suffolk.— Bow- street, January 13. Between 9 a. m. and 3 p m. on the 9: h instant, tbe house of Joseph Johnson, of Clapton, was broken and entered, and stolen therein : a double- breasted dark cloth Overcoat, with velvet collar; a black velvet Coat and Waistcoat; a black cloth Waistcoat; a pair of dark cloth Trousers ; a boy's grey Overcoat; a pair of light high- top Boots; a silk Handker- chief, with yellow ground ; a grey Scarf, with white flowers ; and other Articles. Information to be given to Superintendent Noble, Oundle, Northamptonshire.— Bow- street, January 13. Stolen on the evening of the 11th instant, from the dwelling- house ot Mr. Copland, of Chelmsford, the following articles of Jewellery : 1 gold Brooch, hair in centre, with diamond and garnet. 1 gold Brooch, with yellow stone and pearls. 1 gilt Brooch, Ear- rings, and pebble Bracelet. 1 half- hoop diamond mourning Ring, with the name of ' Mary Johns, died November 1, 1828,' engraved inside. 1 gold Ring, with garnet and heart. 2 hair Bracelets, with clasps. 1 set of Brooch Eir- rings. 1 silver Vinegarette, marked ' E. Stolen on the night of the 14th instant, a brown Pony, about 13 hands high, belonging to Mr. Bushell, brandwood- end. Whoever will give such information as will lead to the conviction of the offender or offenders shall receive £ 7 7s. reward. Information to be given to Superintendent Hum- phries, King's Heath, Warwickshire.— Bow- street, January 18, A warrant has been issued for the appiehension of THOS. RIDDLES aliaS SMITH, for stealing a Horse ( recovered) at Poynings, Sussex, on the 31st ultimo : he is 25 years of age, 6 feet 9 inches high, slight, and light brown hair ; dressed in black billycock hat, light tight sleeve vest, and check trousers ; is a gipsy and low horse coper, supposed to be well known at Shepherd's Bush, London, and in Northamptonshire. Has a woman, 22 years of age, with a child about 5 months old with him. Information to be given to Sergeant Baldwin, Preston, near Brighton, or to Superintendent Jenner, Lewes.— Bow- street, January 15. Stolen from a field in Burnt Ash- lane, Bromley, between the 29th and 31st ultimo, a black Mare, 14 hands high, star on forehead, been fired in both hind 1*- Ks, one hind foot white, long tail, and in good condition. LARCENY AND EMBSZZLESCEN Absconded from Uplyme, Devon, on the 11th instant, charged wi'h stealing 6 sheep Skins, which have been recovered, two men of the following description : JAMES ROCKET, farm labourer, 29 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout built, dark brown hair and whiskers meeting under ihe chin ; dfessed in velveteen jacket, fustian trousers, and soft bil s cock hat. WILLIAM HaYNES, farm labourer, 21 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, little or no whiskers ; dressed in round fustian jacke , cord trousers, and billycock hat to be given to Superintendent Dore, Devon floniton.— Bow- strcet, January 18. Description of a man who is going about the country visiting different towns and obtaining Account Books and other Information Constabulary, He is about property from tradesmen under false pretences. 40 vears of age. about 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, rather stoutly built, thin features, pale complexion, long nose, light brown 40 built, thin features, paie couipie^ mu, u hair and whiskers ; dressed in dark coat, which he wore over a white slop, fustian or cord trousers, and soft black felt hat. He represents himself to be a stone sawyer, and obtains tbe goods in tbe following manner: he calls upon master stone masons in different towns and solicits work, where he obtains all particulars about them, after which he goes to booksellers and obtains books by representing that he has been sent for them. He is likely to be found either in Hants, Wilts, Somer- set, or Dorset. Information to be given to Chief Constable Gifford, Police Office, Poole, Dorsetshire.— Bow- street, Jan. 18. Absconded from his employer, having embezzled several sums of money, a man 30 years of age, 6 feet 7 inches high, sallow complexion, brown hair, thin face, no whiskers ; dressed in a dark overcoat, light trousers and vest; a farrier.— Metro- politan Police, W Division, January 15. Absconded on the 8th instant from Hackney Union, steal- ing the Workhouse Clothing, three youths : one is 17 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, and impediment in his speech ; one is 18 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, pale complexion, dark eyes, and brown hair; the other is 17 years of ege, dark complexion, hair, and eyes; all dressed in the workhouse clothing.— Metropolitan Police, N Division, January 15. Absconded on the 9th instant from St. James' Refuge, Marshall- street ( stealing a Blanket, a Chemise, a pair of Drawers, a plaid Jacket, a pair of Stockings, and a pair ot Boots), a girl, 17 years of age, short and stout, dark complexion, hair, and eyes, and wore a brown diess, mourning jacket, and apron ; also a woman, 25 years of age, 5 feet high, dark com- plexion, hair, and eyes ( has a slight cast in leit), and wore a violet dress, waterproof cloak with sleeves, and brown velvet bonnet.— Metropolitan Police, N Division, January 15. Description of ALFRED WALKER, attorneys clerk, charged with embezzleing the sum of £ 350, the property of his employer Charles Steel, Esq , Solicitor, Sleaford, Lincoln- shire : he is from 35 to 40 years of age, about 5 feet 5 or C inches high, dark brown or black eyes, black hair and mous- tache, whiskers shaved off the side of the face, but worn under the chin, which are very thick, round full red face, rather stout, small hinds and feet, has a respectable appearance, has lost some teeth from front of upper jaw, is short sighted and wears glasses ; supposed to be a native of Westminster. £ 10 reward will be given by Charles Steel, Esq. to any person who will apprehend and lodge him in any of her Majesty's Gaols. Information to be given to Superintendent Pearmain, County Police, Sleaford Liocolnshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— Bow- street, January 15. A warrant has been issued for the apprehension of JOHN GLOVER, alias JOHN ANDERsON, alias PROFESSOR ANDERSON, a shoemaker, charged with stealing a quantity of Leather entrusted to him to make into boots : he is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 § inches high, slight make, pale com- plexion, grey eyes, brown hair, cut on back of right thumb, on nose, over each eyebrow, and on centre of forehead ; he is a native of Dublin, and has a wife and four children, who are supposed to be with him. Absconded from the borough of Newport, Monmouth, charged with obtaining under false pretences, from two berlin wool shops in the town : two black sealskin Purses, a light coloured sealskin tobacco Pouch, a sealskin fusee Pouch, to match, two brown leather Purses, and two cigar Case9 : a man of the following description, about 20 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, light complexion, 1 ght hair, no beard ; dressed in a blue cloth monkey jacket, and a Scotch cap, of respectable appearance, and good address, having the appearance of a mid- shipman ; one of the cigar cases have been f und in pledge. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Huxtable, Borough Police Office, Newport, Monmouthshire.— Bow- street, January 13. U3XSCEX.& ANEOU& INFORMAL XOKfH. Missing from his heme at Tatenhill, near Burton- on- Trent, since the night of the 9th instant : JOHN DUNN, gardener, 44 yeais of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stou' make, brown hair, sandy beard, and bald on top of forehead; dressed in corduroy jacket, with 2 outside and 2 inside pockets, fustiau trousers, double- breasted corduroy vest, white cotton shirt, soft billycock hat, and wore a pair of clogs with nails in the soles. He had in his possession a silver watch and about 3s. 6d. in money. It is feared some ill has befallen him. Information to be given to Superintendent Oswell, Burton- on- Trent.— Bow- street, January 18. Description of a man who offered a bundle of calfskin Leather for sale about 7 30 p. m. on the 13th inst., at Lambeth ; the property had been stolen from one of the London. Chatham, and Dover Railway vans, while delivering in Hill- street, Walworth- road, about 6 p. m. on the 13th instant: he gave the name of WILLIAM THOMPSON, of 34 East- street, Lambeth ( false), about 45 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, thin, dark hair and complexion, little whiskers ; dressed in dark clothes and old low crowned hat. He was accompanied by a man, who drove a dun- coloured horse and a sort of carrier's cart. The property has been stopped, and the person can be identified.
