Notice.— It is requested that all communications for the pur- pose of obtaining or giving information respecting supposed offenders, or stolen property, may Itear the Signature of the person requiring or sending the same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to Mr. W. D. BURNABY, the Editor, Police Court, Bow- street, London. • W. C. ( Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre hended, and the name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As HO charge is made for the insertion of any article in the 1' OLICE GAZETTE, all letters addressed to the Editor must be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. It is requested that the Names and Descriptions of Deserters and Absentees from the Militia, as well as those from the regular Amy, intended for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, may be addressed to " The Under Secretary of State for War, War Office, Pall Mall, London, S. W.," as they cannot be published without his authority. INFORMATIONS. MURDER AND MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING Description of CHARLES SEILER, who has absconded, oharged with burglary and attempt to murder at Notting Hill on the 21st inst. ; 20 years of age, 6 It. C iu. high, fresh com- plexion ( rather pale), dark hair, no whiskers 01 beard, cupped in back of neck, ' S. or Sarah Price,' in blue Indian ink, on one arm, supposed right, and dressed in black frock coat and vest, soldier's trousers with stripe cut ont, old side spring boots, and brown cloth rap with peak of same material; he was invalided from the 69th Regt. about a month ago from Gosport, in the name of CHARLES SMITH, and has his Discharge with him in that, name : was last seen at Alperton, near Harrow, Middlesex, at 6 a. m. on th- t 21st instant, where he obtained the said side- spring boots and cap which he may now be wearing. Inlormation to be given at the Detective Department, Scotland- yard.— Metropolitan Police, X Division, September 28. RICHARD WILLIAMS and ROBERT JONES, advertised in tho Police Gazette of the 21st instant, chirged with manslaughter, have been apprehended, and remanded till the lst proximo, at Abergele.—/ iow- sireet, September 28. Gazette of the 16th instant. A tall man, about 40 years of age, with dark whiskers and moustache, was seen loitering in front of the house at the time, and is supposed to be an accom plice, dressed in a grey coat and trousers, and waistcoat of a darker colour. .£ 10 reward will be given on detection of the offender, and recovery of the property. Information to be given at the Police Office, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.— Bow- street, September 28. On the night of the 19th instant, the shop of Mr. Alfred Shorter, Denny Bottom, Tunbridge Wells, wa6 broken and entered, and stolen a box of Cigars, marked ' Mexican;' a quantity of Pickwicks sand Cubas, 2 lbs. of the best Shag Tobacco, 10a. in Coppers, 6s. in 3d. and 4d. pieces, and other articles. Information to be given at the Police Office, Tun- bridge Wells, Kent.— Bott- street, September 28. Stolen on the 21st instant, at Glastonbury Fair, from the person of a man, about £ 2n0, consisting of 10 £ 10 Notes, of Stuckey's Banking Company ; some £ 5 Notes, of the same Bank ; £ 29 10s. in Gold ; and two Cheques, one on the Exeter Bank for £ 16 10a.; the other for £ 6, on Stuckey's Baok, drawn by G. Baker, of Pilton. By a woman, supposed to be called MILES, alias RED LIZ 27 or 28 years of age, middle Bize, stout figure, rather sharp nose and features, pock- pitted, and auburn hair ; dr^ s- ed in a long fashionable cloak, with large sleeves tight at the wrist, buttoned down the front, dark coburg dress, and black hat, with fall and feather; sup- posed to be a native of Plymouth. She is accompanied by a man of the following description, who assisted her in the robbery : his name ia supposed to be MILES, about 33 years of age, pale features, no whiskers, but has a little tuft of hair on the chin, and walks with a slight limp ; dressed iu dark clothes and leggiogs, and j tncrow bat; he is supposed to be a native of Stockton- on- Tees or Middlesborough. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Bloxham, Glastonbury. — Bow- street, September 25. During the night of the 21st instant, the dwelling- house of David Roberts, of Tangfreed, in the parish of Llangyniew, was entered and two Cheeses, roea- uring 9 inches iu diameter, 3f inches in thickness, and 32 inches round; about 8 lbs, ROBBERY AND LARCENY FROM THE PEJ& SON. Supposed to have been stolen, on the 18th instant, from a lady travelling in a first class carriage of the Scotch express between Darlington and Thirsk, or whilst waiting at the Thirsk Station, a lady's gold Watch, horizontal movement, enamel dial, maker Groche, No. 8364, had attached a long dark hair Chain, with pearl settings, clasp a serpent's head in pearls, and a common Watch- key. £ 5 reward will be paid to any person who shall give such information as will lead to the apprehension of the offeoder and recovery of the watch and chain. Stolen on tbe 25th instant, from the Swan livery stables, Hastings : a black deerstalker Hat, nearly new ; an old black cloth Vest; and 4s or 6s. in Silver. By a tramping stable- man. known as DEAF BOB about 35 years ot age, 5 feet b inches high, very thin lace, black hair and whiskers, cut short; dressed iu a short brown coal, light brown speckled trousers, blue neckerchief with white stripes, shoes with drab cloth tops, and the stolen hat. He is deal, and will probably apply for employment at livery stables. Information to be given to Chief superintendent Glenister, Town Hall, Hastings.— boir- ttreetfSeptember 28. Description of RICHARD EVANS, a farm labourer, charged with stealing a hunting Whipstock ( recovered): he is 26 y ears of age, 6 teet 7 inches higti, dark complexion and eyes, black straight hair, oval face, no whiskers, and a cut mark on lower lip ; dressed in white slop or long dark coat, heavy boots, and dark nousets; he has beeu working as a farm labourer, and says he has been a soldier. Infoimation to be given to Superintendent Baxter, Church S'retton, or to Sergeant Lear, Craven Arms, Salop, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. — Bote- street. September 25. Absconded on the 21st instant, from No. 37, Exeter- street, Strand stealing 26s. : a man, 28 years ot age, 6 feet 8 inches high, sallow complexion, rieht eye injured, and walks footsore. Absconded on the 19th instant from Worthing, JOHN CLARK, of Earsham, near Bungay, Suffolk, charged with stealing 2£ yards of cloth ( since recoveied), the property of John Scrase : he is a tramping tailor, nbout 30 years of ate, 5 feet 4 inches high, brown hair, whiskers ana moustache ( small), and dres- ed in a brown cloth jacket, pockets at the side, speckled tweed trousers, brown velvet billy cot k hat, and elastic- side boots. Supposed to he seeking employnient along the south coast, having been traced to Brighton. Information to be given to Inspector Henderson, West Sussex Constabulary. Worthing, who holds a warrant for his apprehension.— bow- street, September 25. Deseiiption of WILLIAM ODELL, alias JOHN STANBRIDGE, slias SABEY, of Claphill near Ampthill, Beds, blacksmith, charged with stealing a Coat at Rowsham. Bucks, nn the 19th instant, since recovered, pledged at Leigh- ton Buzzard. He is about 28 years of age, ab > ut 6 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, small features, light btown hair and whiskers ; dressed in black or blue pilot cloth jacket, corduroy trousers, old hoots, and supposed a felt hat; walks erect, having been in the army. Information to be given to Inspector Shepherd, Linslade, Leighton Buzzard Beds, who holds a warrant lor his apprehension.— Bow- treet, Sept. 25. Stolen from a lodging- house at Calverley. during the night of the 20th instant : an old calico Bag. containing one Half- Sovereign, and 15s. 6d. in silver. By u lodger, a labouier, who has absconded, about 21 years of age, about 5 feet I inch high, fresh complexion, food looking, black hair, and flesh mark nn right cheek ; die sed in light tweed suit, black velvet cap, and strong face- up hoots all part worn. Stolen between 6 and 7 p. m. on the 19th instant, from the schooner * Jane,' lying in Margate Harbour : a pair of corduroy Trousers, a blue Guernsey, a striped cotton Shirt, a monkey Jacket with velvet collar, a pair of lace- up Boots with eyelet holes, a pair of white cotton Stockings, and a single- barrelled Gun.
