Signature of the person requiring or sending the same, and all applications in reference to the POLICE GAZETTE may be made and addressed to Mr. W. D. V Whenever it is desired that any person should be appre- hended, and the name is given, it is indispensably necessary that an Information should be made and sworn to before a Magistrate, of the offence charged, and an attested copy thereof, together with the Advertisement, forwarded to the Editor for insertion. As HO charge is made for the insertion of any article in the VOLICE GAZETTE, all Letters addressed to the Editor must be prepaid, otherwise the insertion will not be made. It is requested that the Names and Descriptions of Deserters and Absentees from the Militia, as well as those from the regular Army, intended for insertion in the POLICE GAZETTE, may be addressed to " The Under Secretary of State for War, War Office, Pall Mall, London, S. Description of two men who were seen near the premises a short ti me before the robberies were discovered : one from 30 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 0 or 7 inches high, dark hair and complexion ; dressed in dark clothes and cap with straight peak, and of respectable appearance : the other, 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark hair and com- plexion, whiskers meeting under the chin, and large moustache ; dressed in dark clothes and black hat. Between 2 and < 3 p. m. on the 13th instant, the house of Philip Wood, labourer, of Rowton, Cheshire, was broken into and the following property stolen therein : a suit of black cloth Livery with plain buttons; a dark twill Coat and Vest, bound with dark broad braid ; a club Scarf, belonging to the United Order of Oddfellows; a scarf Shawl, imitation Paisley, of orange colour ; and one pair of woman's elastic- ide Boots, with patent leather fronts. During the night of the 14th instant, the dwelling- house of Mr. Ashton, Pontyperchill, Bettws, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen : a pair of strong lace- up Boots, nearly new, three rows of nails in middle, no eyelets, with squares in heels ; half a loaf of Bread ; and about half a pound of Bacon. Description of JOSEPH MINIGELLE, an Italian, re- manded until the 19th instant at the Guildhall Police Court, Southampton, on two charges of burglary, lie is 24 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, dark brown hair, whiskers, and moustache, thick set, scar on left wrist ; dressed in snuff- coloured loose coit, light cloth trousers, snd black cloth cap with pea'-:. Has been employed for same years as waiter at a cafe in London. Information to be given to Chief Superin- tendent Breary, Southampton.— Bow- st., August 17. Description of licence holders who have failed to report themselves at a Metropolitan Police Station, as required by the Penal Servitude Act, 1864 : JOHN HOGAN, No. 8211, 29 years of age, 5 feet high, fair complexion, dark brown hair, grey eyes, and has an irnpedi ment in bis speech ; was sentenced to 6 years penal servitude at the Central Ci iminal Court, for making counterfeit coin ; his sentence will expire on the 12th of July, 1869. RICHARD WELSH, No. 2292, 28 years of sge, 5 feet 2\ iuches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, pockmarked, grey eyes, abscess mark on right shoulder, short finger ol light hand ; was sentenced to 4 years penal servitude at Newington Sessions for stealing a watch after a previous conviction ; his sentence will expire on the 4th of September, 1868. These licence holders cannot be found at the addresses given by them, and they are to be apprehended by any Constable, at any time prior to date of expiration of sentence, and the tact reported immediately to the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, 4, Whitehall- place, London— Metropolitan Police, August 17. Description of two men and two females, suspected of housebreaking, in the borough of Middlesborough, on the afternoon of the 11th instant: One 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, light whiskers ; dressed in a long oveicoat, white vest, and white hat. The other of middle stature, about 35 to 40 years of age, stout figure, dark hair, moustache and whiskers; dressed in a dark suit, and has ih « aitpnafimce of ft foreigner. Tn e two females were each dressed in light muslin, with a large dark flower in the dress.
