Stolen from the person of William Leeming, labourer, about 10 p m. on the 12th instant, at Barnsley, a silver verge Watch, white dial, has a small j ieie broken out near the figute ' 4,' and brass hands : supposed by two nawiis, 25 or 30 years of age. Stolen from I he person of a gentleman, in St. Aldate- street, Oxford, betweeu 12 and 1 s. m , on the 14ih instaut, a black dress Coat, with silk collar, and a Handkerchief in the pocket; and a very dark blue Chesterfield Overcoat, with a velvet collar. Stolen from the borough of Lancaster : Between the hours of 12' 4ft and 2 45 p. m., on the 17th in- stant, the dwelling- house of J. S. Harrison, Esq, was broken and entered by forcing open the back door, viz : £ 30 in Notes, Gold aud Silver ; a silver Fish Knife and Fork, engraved with / the figure of a stork by a river side upon them ; four old heavy ^ lver Table Spoons wiih beaten shanks , the top vaudyked aud irest, ' stag with key in its mouth ;' a gold Watch Chain, 4 dozen silver Dessert Spoons and Foiks, a dozen do. plated, a small silver Watch, a dozen silver Tea Spoons, a dozen plated do., a Brooch set with aqua marine, a Brooch, amethyst centre, broad gold round. Between 12 and 9 p. m., on the 17th instant, the dwelling- house ot Mr. Samuel Battersby, 2 Albert- terrace, was entered, supposed by false keys: a silver Medal, the Borough Cup, on one side, ' Borough Cup, amateur four- oar'd race— Lancaster Regatta, established 1843,' on the reverse side the names of the winners of the same, the second name being ' S Battersby a silver Indian mutiny Medal, with ' Robert Battersby. 35th Regt.' round the edge ; a gold Cross, embossed, about 2J incheB square; a Breast Pin, imitation of a diamond in the Centre ; a lady's small gold Ring, small blue stone in centre ; a gold Ring set with hair and pearla in the centre ; a lady's gold Neck Chain, small pattern; an old fashioned gold Seal, oil swivel, brown stone in Centre, with a man's head cut in the stone ; a gold Seven Shilling piece, slightly bent ; a small gold Locket, likeness of a lady in it; aud £ 2 10s in money. Between 1 and 7 p in., on the 17th instant, the house of Mr. John Barrow, Derwent- road Freehold, was entered, sup- posed by false keys : four silver Table Spoons, large size, two marked ' U ;' seven silver Tea Spoons, sis marked ' B ;' three silver Salt Spoons, marked ' B ;' one silver Egg Spoon, marked ' B ;' two pairs of silver Sugar Tongs, one p- iir marked ' B.,' and one ' C ;' oue old fashion- d silver Cream Jug. marked ' B ; one set of gold Siuds, with hole punched in hack of one of them ; one gold watch Chain ; a silver hunting Watch, ' F. C. B Terry,' engraved on it; one gold Breast Pin, in coral ; one gold plated Rill*, one gold enamelled Scarf Ring ; two £ 10 Bank of England Notes ; one silver Snuff Box, scratched inside ; one gold Watch Key ; one plated Brooch, ivory centre, and two dogs carved on the ivory. By three men of the following description : one about 28 yeais of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark complexion, dark hair, dark brown whi- kers and moustache, ( rather large); dressed in black cloth coat, dark trousers and black hat. Another about 28 yeats of age, 6 feet 6 inches high, dark complexion, no whiskers, dark moustache, cut short; dressed in a dark cloth shooting coat; grey trousers, and black hat. And the other about 28 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fair complexion, Bandy hair, whiskers, and moustache; dressed in a brown or drab overcoat, drab trousers, and black hat; all three of gentle- manly appearance. Information to be giveu to Head Constable Pye, Police Station, Lancaster.— Bow- street, June 22. During the morning of the 17th instant, the saddle- room at Clifton House, in the borough of Shrewsbury, was broken into, and stolen therein : a grey Overcoat, with breast pocket in right side, and grey velvet collar ; a pair of top Bjots, the tops taken off ; a Pruning Knife ; and a small red Telescope with three slides. Information to be given to Head Constable Hughes, Shrewsbury.— Bow- street, June 19. During the night of the 17th instant, Rhiew Bank, near Welshpool, was broken into, and stolen therein : a silver Cruet Stand and a ditto Mustard Spoon, cres-— a hand holding a scroll ; a silver Cayenne Spoon ; a Cruet Bottle, silver top ; and two small fancy Hose-, one of which has a silver plate on lid and two silver i andles. Information to he given to Police Constable Sibbald, Berriew, or at the Chief Constable's Office, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire.— Bow- street, June 19. Stolen between 12 and 2 p. m. on the 17th inst., from the dwelliog- house of Mr. Mills, ot the Green, Llanidloes, a Bilver Cruet Stand, about G inches square, wiih four compartments, two silver Salt Stands, two metal dut", and £ 3 in gold, in a small moroco leather cigar Box, with brass edges. A reward of £&• will be paid by Mr. Mills to any person who will give such information as may lead to ihe apprehension and convic- tion of the offender or off ndets. During the night of the 13 h instant, the coach house of Mr. David Morris, of Risca, puisli of Macben, was broken into, and stolen therein : 4 Carriage Lamps, j- ipanued and silver mounted, with light blue coloured glass, flowered, nearly new ; a pair of Billet Reins, for double harness, black leather and covered buckles, nearly new ; a pair of new Reins, for single harness, black and hrown leather, and silver plated Buckles;' 4 short Straps, with three silver plated lings on each. Between 9 a. m. and 3 p. m. on the 12th instant, the . house of David Smith, in the paiisli of Ringmer, was broken ai d entered, and stolen therein : 2 large loaves of Bread tind some small ones; G bottles of Ginger Beer ; 1 large china Pips, with wooden stem; 1 large blue Handkerchief; 1 red Handker- chief, with rings and flowers in the middle ; 3 pocket Knives, one black handle, with a piece of metal let in the handle, two j blades, one white handle one blade, the other white handle, j two blades, have all been used; 4 cakes of Blacking; 12 Farthings; and a small pair of Scissors. Information to he given to Saperintendent Jenner, Le « ves, or at any Police Station in East Sussex.— Bom- street, June 17. During the night of the 13th instant, the pay office at the Dowlais Iron Works, was iroken and entered, and stolen therein : an old black cloth Coat, rather short skirts, a pocket each side with flaps, one inside breast, pocket, worn a great deal on the cuffs and breast, with a quantity of ink on the left sleeve, and dark buttons; a fad d blue ribbed cloth Coat, dark lining]) a pocket each side with flips, one inside breast pocket, short skirts, and thick horn buttons. Whoever will give such information as will lead to the apprehension aod conviction of the offender or off nders, shall receive £ 25 reward. Informa- tion to be given to Superintendent Thomas Constabulary Office, Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorganshire.— Bow- street, June 17- During the night of the 11th instant, the rectory at Aberbafesp, was broken into, and stolen therein: a silver Dessert Spoon, ' R. N.' on the back ; a silver convex Plate, about 3 in. in diameter ; the Odd Fellows' Coat- of- Arms, and the following inscription engraved thereon ' Presented to Miss Isabella Herratta Shaw, by the Odd Fellows', & c., & c. Two mm of the following description are suspected : one about 30 years of age, 6 feet 10 or II inches high, sandy hair, whiskers and moustache ; dressed in brown clothes and cap. The other about 28 years « f age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark hair and whiskers, du ty appearance, and was either lame or had a sore foot. Stolen on the 17th instant, from a field in the parish of St. John's, Worcester, a dark brown Pony, 7 years old, 12$ hands high, iu goof condition, tail cut short, has a saddle mark on bis back, and legs recently trimmed. Information to be given to Superintendent Phillips, County Police Station, Worcester.— Bow s', June 22. Description of JOHN COOPER, a puddler or roller, who absconded from Wellington, Salop, on the 10th instant, charged with stealing a Lamb from a field at Arleston, which has been recovered : he 13 about 28 years of age, 6 feet 8 or 9 inches high, light, browu hair, cut short, fair complexion, a front tooth broken tff, aud walks erectly ; supposed dressed in moleskin or grey cloth trousers, brown or grey jacket. Information to be given to Chief Superintendent Richardson, Wellington, Salop.— Bow- street, June 22. Found, supposed to have been stolen, at Catterick, in the North Riding ot Yorkshire, on the 17th instant, a dapple grey mare Pony, aged, about 13 hands high, in good condition. Supposed to have been stolen on the 14th instant, from a farm yard on the Downs, in the p. iis'i of East Hendred, Berks, a brown Cult, about 14 hands high, about 2J years old, long tail, has a blight mark cf a kick on oiu hip, and has four old shoe3 on. Stolen from afield at Eskivrieth, in the parish of Trefeg- lwys, during the riieht of the 14th iustant. a light mouse colour mare Pony, with black m^ ne wnd tail, G y- ars old, from 12 to 13 hands high, has n while star on centre of forehead, one hind fetlock slightly wMte, a small lump uuder the saddle, aud in good condition. A person having the appearance of a jockey, was seen the same night iu the neighbourhood, and is suspected, about 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches hi^ h. rather stout make, dark complexion, small or no whiskers ; dressed in lightclothes, supposed to be a Welshman. Further information respecting the man called GEORGE, advertised in the Police Gazette or the 3rd instant, as having stolen a silver Watch, & c. His name is GEORGE JORDAN, a groom ; may be found at stables at Tunbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Hastings, or Brighton. A warrant has been issued for his apprehension. The second man described has returned to Boughton. Information to be given to Superintendent Mayne, Police Court, Sitting bourne, Kent.— street, June 22. Description of HENRY EDWELL, alias COLLAR, alias CANTERBURY, Charged under a warrant with stealing a Watch, at Oare, on the oth iustant ( since recovered). He is 17 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 incites high, dark hrown hair, buying appearance, and dressed in white slop, sometimes a dark brown coat, and cord trousers; a brickmaker. By a man, sbojt 25 years ot age, 6 feet 8 or 9 inches high, has scars on his face from fighting, aod has a black eye ( supposed right); is of smart appearance, and is posting bills for Dr. Hunter, of Birmingham and London, lie is supposed to have gone to Ledbury and Worcester. Stolen on the 6th instant, from the parish of Kingscliffe, the property of Daniel Dexter : a black cloth Waistcoat, with black glazed sleeves and back, lined with swausdown, turned down or rolled collar, a pocket on each side, and a row of buttons, covered with black clo'h ; ul. o a new flag Basket, rather large size, ona handle wrapped with tar cord. Stolen on the evening of the 17th ins'ant, from a cricket field at Walsall, a gold Geneva hunting Wa< ch, engine tufued casp, while dial, aud a snake- pattern gold Albert Chain, with an oval gold Locket, containing hair, attached. By a youth, about 14 years of aee, supposed to be a tramp. Information to be given to Chief Constable Cater, Police Office, Walsall.— Bow- street, June 19. Stolen from the Crown Inn, Lower Basildon, on the 15th iustant, a guld Geneva Watch, a gold snake Chain with two Lockets attached ( one shape ot a heart, containing grey hair, the other enamelled) ; a gold Ring, set with four or five turquoise ; 1 gold Bracelet for likeness ; 1 hair ditto, with gold snap ; a silver Desert Knife, wiih ivory handlo ; an old- fashioned silver Pencil Case ; a large silver Table Spoon, with ' H R.' iu monogram ; a lavender colour llama Shawl, with blue and white lace border ; and a new aiuber colour silk Shawl. By a uian, supposed to be a German, who left a piece of paper with something written iu German upon it, iu the bed ruom where the arncles were stolen from, and who took lodgings for himself and three other gentlemen, stating they were money exuhangeis, and were coming on the 16th : he is about 40 years of age, about 6 feet 7 or 8 inches high, lather stout, round full face, dark whiskers meeiing under the chin, full eyes, low forehead, rather plain- lookiog countenance, aud dressed in a dark brown loose coat, light waistcoat, mixed plaid trousers, aud btown straw hat, wore a ring ou his finger, with dark stone, gold guard chain round his neck, and watch in waistcoat pocket, had a shabby gent- el appearance ; he took train at Pangbouro to Pa diugton hy the 7 40 the same even- ing. Information to be given to Superintendent Crook, Berks County Constabulary Station, Beading.— Bow- street, June 19. Stolen from a dwelling- house at Teynham, Kent, the property of James White, 1 black cloth Coat, pockets on hips, aDd one inside breas' pocket ; 1 pilot cloth monkey Jacket; 1 pair of dark tweed Trousers ; 1 pair ot cotton cord Trousers ; 1 pair of grey olnfh Tiousers ; 1 grey cloth Veat; 1 new white Shirt; 1 silk Neckerchief ; and 1 ligtit woollen Wrapper ; all nearly new. By a Belgian, about 33 years of a^ e, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches bitsh, very red face, long whiskers under chin, dark haz- 1 eyes, dark brown hair, combed back ; dressed in a low- crowned bat, blue cl ith trousers, elastic side boots, supposed wearing the stolen monkey jacket ; ho has be: n working iu a brickfield at Teynham. Information to be given to Superin- tendent Mayne, Police Court, Sittingbourne, Kent.— Bow- slreet, June i9. Description of EDWIN LUFF, native of Bourn, Lincoln- shire, charged with stealing, on the 11th inst., from a beerhouse at Colsterworth, a pair of put pie checked tweed Trousers, and alight VeBt, tlnee pockets outside and one iutide, both new : about 23 ) e* rs of sge, 5 feet 6J inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes ; dressed in light tweed suit, round felt hat viih bone buckle inside. He is also a deserter from the 30th Foot, and chaiged with committing an offence at Chatham Barracks ( see Police Gazette ot the 13th April, 1868). Was traced within nine miles of Stamford oil the 11th instant. Infoimation to be given to Superintendent Sharpe, County Pulice Station, Grantham, Lincolnshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension. — l: o.- street, June 17. The dwelling- house of Mr. Hunniset, baker, No. 35, Trafalgar- street, Brighton, was entered between ) 1 a. m. and 1 p. m. on the 14 h instant, and the following articles stolen : a gold Geneva Watch, a long gold Chain, Locket, Seal, and Key ( led stone ononesitie white the other) ; three silver ditto, one old fashioned, with new dial and cases, one large, the Other a hunting with no glass; and about 22s. in Silver and Copper. By two fi- h hawkers : one is in custody and remanded till the 22nd instant ; the other, wi. o is at large, is from 20 to 30 years of age, middle height, and dressed in daik clothes and low crowned black hat.
